Screen Lock never works!

My iPod's screen lock has never worked. It tells me to enter the code, then the Screen Lock menu shows with the choice "Turn Screen Lock On >" saying that.

Do you have the latest iPod/iTunes software?

Upgrade to iTunes 6
Upgrade iPod's software
Try formating your iPod via "My Computer":
Go to "My Computer".
Right-click your iPod, click on "Format".
To begin the formatting process, start in “FAT32”, but make sure that “quick format” is not selected.
This process will take a while. But after it is done, be sure to perform a restore on your iPod.
Have you tried uninstalling-reinstalling your iPod's software?
Also, have you tried all the Five R's?

Ask for password after screen lock not working? It used to work before mavericks, each time my computer display sleep I'm asked for the password immediately. Now it never asks for it?

Screen Lock not working with new OS

After loading the 4.2 OS on the iPad now the Screen Lock button became the mute button!
Useless to me and lost useful functionality.
Please advise - is there any chance to get back to the Screen Lock function without re-installing the previous OS?

Rotation lock is now a software function on the taskbar in 4.2 and the button now mutes notifications e.g. so that you can watch videos or listen to music without hearing email notifications etc.
Rotation lock : double-click the home button, slide from the left, and it's the button far right; press home again to exit the taskbar; repeat to switch off rotation lock.

Windows seven stuck at starting windows screen and never works

hi, so my pc was running just fine until one day when i tried to turn my pc on it was just stuck on the starting windows screen, i even left it on overnight and all day to see if it would work and it didnt. so i have no idea how to fix it. its windows
7 home premium, and is hp pavilion g laptop with intel i3 processer. i have searched through forums and nothing has helped to make it work it just never runs its stuck there forever and i cant access anything on that pc

First, you can try to repair your Windows 7 systems to login:
Restart Computer and continue to click F8, you would enter into WIN RE, choose the
repair computer option--->System Recovery Optionsà Select the
Startup Repair option. Then Startup Repair will now scan your computer to attempt to find and fix any startup problems.
After repair computer, I would suggest you to put the computer in Clean Boot and check which non Microsoft program is causing the issue. To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues,
you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Screen locks not working

Hi There, it seems bug in iPhone 6 "dubbel click of start switch unlock the phone, even we have set the screen password, appreciate your help...

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Screen lock means SCREEN LOCK!!!

Please please can apple change the software to allow screen lock to work!!! I am a tradesman and need my phone on me at all times, I keep it in my pocket and the really really dumb feature called voice control keeps dialling random people... Apparently this cannot be disabled!!! If this is not changed In the next software upgrade I am switching to Samsung like so many of my colleagues... Apple has gone downhill since the iphone 5, and in my eyes is not keeping up with consumers needs!

Screen lock gone mad

New nano Red. Daughter set screen lock code, worked fine, but was prior to first sync.
Connected to Mac, and nano did a reset upon connection. Sync'd music, all worked fine.
Then, daughter activated screen lock. Code that was set no longer works.
Questions: What happens if you activate the lock without setting a code? (Is that even possible). Is there a factory default code (i.e. "0000" or something?

Have you tried to power off and on? If that doesn't work and the reset didn't work, have you tried connecting to iTunes to see if it is recognized?
If none of this works you probably need to visit an Apple genius bar and have it checked out by the techs.

Screen lock problems with Alarm, etc...

The Alarm notification window goes away too quickly.
I have the screen lock setting ON (so I have to slide the yellow ball up). I also have the screen lock time set to one minute.
When the alarm goes off (IF it goes off, which is another bug) the screen turns on with the slider indicating an alarm is going off, but it quickly goes away.
It doesn't stay active for the minute I have set.
Thus, I have to hit the button, then unlock the screen to snooze the alarm.
Also I noticed that the screen lock, well, works whenever it wants to. Sometimes Im asked to slide the ball, other times I am not. I should be qued to do this every time I tap the power button.
All these little bugs are making me a little leery of my Pre purchase...

I was on vacation this weekend and set my Pre alarm to go off both mornings. The first morning it went off, but the touch screen, volume buttons, unlock, etc. were all frozen. Nothing had any effect on the Pre whatsoever. Had to completely shut down the Pre.
The next morning, it simply didn't go off at all. Triple-check the settings, and all were correct. Just deecided to not work.

Touch screen won't work, and it's on lock

I have this ipod that I've been trying to fix for someone, as well as load up songs from itunes. I've successfully synced songs to it to it's full capacity (8G). However, when it was done, I ejected it and tried to listen to it to see if it was working properly. The screen is locked, as well as the touch screen isn't working as if it's completely dead. I've never had this problem as I am familiar with Ipod Touches and Nanos. Does anyone have any remedies or suggestions?? Gonna try other things in the meantime.

Hi Wazzup483, Im having the same problem you had. Screen locked, touch screen not responding and it won't stop playing music. It licked while I was listening to music. Took out my pocket and it was locked, guess I hit something.

The button on the top that you use to lock and unlock or put to sleep is the power button. The button lower center of the screen is the home button...can be used to also wake from sleep and switch to the base home screen.

How do I turn off my phone with a broken lock button and screen doesn't work?

my lock button broke a few months ago and I've been getting along fine without it due to assistive touch. Now, my screen won't work at all.. I can't slide it to open it, can't slide to power off .. only thing I can do is slide down the today thing at the top and slide it back up .. I can get siri to bring me to my password screen but I can't type it in .. any ideas on how to turn off or restart my phone seeing as I can't slide to power off? This happened over night so my phone is at 94% as of right now and I don't want to wait for it to die because that will take forever ..

Honestly the hard really right now to say what you can do. How long have you had the device? If it's under a year you can take it to apple store and they can switch it out for free. If it's over a year then it would be at a paid cost cause they can't fix that issue.

You mentioned you reset the phone. Does this mean you removed the battery & put it back in? Or does this mean you able to complete an actual Hard Reset?

Your information is generally backed up to Google or Backup Assistant and your SD Card. If possible, please sign in to double check.
If you're unable to hard reset and removing the battery doesn't resolve the concerns we may have to look in to replacement. Does your phone have any physical or liquid damage? How long have you had your phone? Do you have insurance?

HT4061 iphone 3GS screen locked, slide bar does not work

Iphone 3GS. The slide bar does not work, ie the screen lock does not unlock. I have tried to reset (power and home buttons) and also to restore my iphone several times using iTunes without any success. Any suggestions? My son uses the phone now for games, so it has no carrier.

A reset can be done by tapping and holding the Home button and the Sleep/On/Off buttons at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears.
