Screen lock problems with Alarm, etc...

The Alarm notification window goes away too quickly.
I have the screen lock setting ON (so I have to slide the yellow ball up).  I also have the screen lock time set to one minute.
When the alarm goes off (IF it goes off, which is another bug) the screen turns on with the slider indicating an alarm is going off, but it quickly goes away.
It doesn't stay active for the minute I have set.
Thus, I have to hit the button, then unlock the screen to snooze the alarm.
Also I noticed that the screen lock, well, works whenever it wants to.  Sometimes Im asked to slide the ball, other times I am not.  I should be qued to do this every time I tap the power button.
All these little bugs are making me a little leery of my Pre purchase...
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I was on vacation this weekend and set my Pre alarm to go off both mornings.  The first morning it went off, but the touch screen, volume buttons, unlock, etc. were all frozen.  Nothing had any effect on the Pre whatsoever.  Had to completely shut down the Pre.
The next morning, it simply didn't go off at all.  Triple-check the settings, and all were correct.  Just deecided to not work.

    Try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Has anyone else had a screen separation problem with the ipad?

Does it really matter whether anyone else has? If you have, that's a problem for you whether or not anyone else has experienced the same issue. Call Apple tech support or take the iPad to an Apple Store, if there's one in your area, and they'll replace the iPad unless it's determined that the problem was caused by some sort of accident rather than a factory defect.

    Hello and welcome,
A couple of things you might try.  Don't know if they'll work on your W.  They do work on some other Lenovo machines.
Plug in a USB keyboard that has numlock.  Use that and see if it sticks after reboot.
Use the on-screen keyboard.  Click "options" and enable numeric keypad.  That should add a keypad and NUMLOCK key to the on-screen keyboard.  Use that.  See if it works - and if it sticks.

  • Black Screen - Broken Screen or Problems with OS?

    Dear all
I'm really hoping someone can help
My Q10 went black screen on Saturday and just turned itself off.  I didn't drop it, but remember using it in a garage about 30 minutes earlier for a 5 minute call, and recall that the phone had gotten quite hot.  But i had let it cool (didn't use it) afterwards.
I read through a few forums and tried a few battery pulls - no luck.  I tried leaving the battery out overnight to reduce residual power - no luck.
All i could see to this point was when i pressed power on, the red light would come on briefly and nothing then appeared on the screen.  Occasionally i do get the red light as if a message was there.  but nothing was working
So i thought i would take the plunge on Monday and connected to Link, where Link recognised the phone and i was able to perform a back up of files etc. i had done it recently anyway, so wasn't too worried.
Then i decided to reload the software via Link.
First attempt was unsuccessful, but second attempt, Link updated Link software, then updated device software, removed data etc.  But then i got a message saying "device setup incomplete - Disconnect device from computer, and complete setup app on my device, then reconnect'
the problem is, i still have a black screen and no amount of swiping etc brings it back to life.
Does anyone have any thoughts about next step?
    I'm thinking
    a) Screen is broken (maybe it overheated)
    b) Maybe i should use an autoloader to reinstall OS - problem is i'm not sure what software version i was up to
    c) Maybe i should listen to someone in this community who might have an even better idea or experience with what i am going through.
the only saving grace is that i had my phone on silent, so its not buzzing etc everytime something happens!
    Thanks for your help
    Hugh

I've got a similar problem: I had it working, but had terrible sound problems with various components (DVD etc). I updated my HK firmware and that seems to have fixed all the problems with the other components but create new ones with ATV2. I'm running HDMI 1.4 from the ATV2 to the HK 255 amp, and no matter what I try and do, I can't seem to get any picture OR sound...
Does anyone know of a solution?
    thanks

  • Nano problems with Alarm clocks(lik e Luna or others)

I have a new nano 4gb, and an Xtrememac Luna... My old ipod 2nd gen worked perfecly, the new nano has problems instead.. When my alarm function lit the ipod, it does not play the song, but remain in pause... The nano wakes up, but old nano started to play the song, this stands in pause. Why this? Can I hope in a fix or something? many people have this problem...
    Possible solutions?
    thanks in advance

Since there was no reply from Apple so far I called their service today.
The claimed that this problem was not known with the devices which they are selling and that they can't tell about 3rd party alarm clocks.
Big news! Who would have thought of that answer?
Well I then called the manufacturer of my alarm clock which is called "auvisio", one of these cheap copies. They knew about the problem with the nano 3G on thier device and said that they can't offer a solution so far. They offered RMA which I would say is quite nice of them but it doesn't help me much with my wake-up-problem in the morning.
I already settled with the thought that I would have to buy the more expensive Apple stuff but as I read above even Bose seems to have the problem. Complete confusion.
Hopefully firmware 1.0.3 will be released soon and can finally solve these problems. Release 1.0.2 definitely was a step into the opposite direction...

  • IChat screen sharing problem with AIM

    Hi,
I have two laptops - one is a MacBook and the other is a PowerBook. Both are running Leopard. At first, when I had tried using the screen sharing feature of iChat, it had worked flawlessly on both the Bonjour network as well as the AIM network.
Now, for some reason, I cannot get screen sharing to work using the AIM network. I am able to conduct text chats, audio chats and video chats, but no screen sharing over AIM. Screen sharing over the Bonjour network continues to work without a problem.
    Any advice?

For some reason ichat does not work when internet sharing is on.
Therefore that might be the problem with your screen sharing since you seem to not be able to get it to work (audio is part of the feature and if you have recently relocated you might not realize that internet sharing is on).

  • Screen display problem with Lenovo 3000 N100

    Hi,
My Lenovo laptop is having a problem with screen display. When i boot the laptop (keeping the screen at 90 degrees to the key board) , there is no display . However, when i tilt it down (lesser than 45 degrees) the display comes back to normal.
In addition, the mystery is that this doesnt happen if do the same after 5 minutes. No matter at what position i have the screen, it works perfect!
Is there a solution for this ? Can some one explain why the display is normal after warming up, but not in the begining (booting) stage.

  • Problems with alarm

    Hi,
Have had a problem with the alarm on my iPhone since I updated my 3GS to IOS4. The problem is I had about 10 recurring alarms before I updated that have literally multiplied by thousands now. There are so many i cannot even get into the alarm part of the clock app with out it crashing. This is very annoying because so many go off at once that it causes the iPhone to crash because of RAM shortage and this happens every day, a solid hour of my iPhone going crazy between the hours of 7am to 8 am. Worse still when i upgraded to the iPhone 4 the bug came with it!
Would anyone have any idea how to fix this? I keep praying for a patch!
    Thanks

    Thanks!!! Worked a charm!
I tried restoring before but never as a new phone!
    Cheers man!! Much appreciated!

  • Locking problem with Postgresql

I'm having some intermittent deadlock problems with Postgresql (7.1 and
    7.2) and Kodo 2.2.3 and 2.2.4.
It appears to be a conflict between my JDO and my JDBC code. I reduced
    the problem section to the
    method found below.
I am running 10 threads concurrently in this test script. Each thread
    is calling the "runQuery()" method
below which creates a PersistenceManager, starts a transaction, runs an
    unrelated JDBC query, and
    then commits the transaction.
The transaction is unrelated to the JDBC query, but it seems to
interfere with it. After a random number
of transactions, it locks up. Now that I've upgraded to 7.2 and 2.2.4,
it doesn't seem to lock with an
"UPDATE waiting" message like it did with 7.1 and 2.2.3, but the script
    still hangs. It's strange,
because if I remove the superfluous Transaction "begin" and "commit", it
    runs fine.
Any ideas on what might cause this?
    Thanks,
    -Mike

    Hi Patrick,
You're right, that should be in a finally clause. However, my script seems
to hang after about 10 to 30 of the 1000 iterations.

    Hi-
Here's a standalone program that shows the problem. If you remove the
    "tx.begin()" and "tx.commit()" lines,
it seems to work fine. With them, I get some odd NullPointerExceptions at
the start, then later it hangs.FTR, it looks like the hang is caused by the bit where threadDone() is
only invoked when an exception is not thrown. If you move the
threadDone() invocation to a finally clause, the hang will probably go
    away.

  • Q10 Screen Lock Problems

I have two issues with screen lock on my Q10.  First, when the phone is in sleep mode, pressing any of the number keys wakes up the phone and activates the lock screen.  I would like to know why this happens -- it doesn't make sense to me that any of the keys should work when the phone is locked.  Is this a software issue?
Secondly, when I remove the phone from the holster, the lock screen activates which is fine (I have the phone set to lock when in holster).  However keys get pushed randomly while removing the phone from the holster.  For example, the password field can get populated as the phone is being removed.  The alt key and the shift key also can get pushed inadvertently. Again, is this a software issue?  It doesn't make sense that keys should be active until the phone is well out of the holster and the lock screen is activated.

    Hey Calawson,
    Thanks for the detailed reply.
Also just to clarify my reply, all the number keys and Q, A will wake up the screen.  There is no reasoning why these keys have been chosen to wake up the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone.
I can definitely see your concern as if you are putting the BlackBerry Q10 in a holster and the padding is touching the ALT or Shift key it will be enabled when you unlock or even wake the screen of the BlackBerry Q10.
There is no way to stop the ALT or Shift key from not being active when BlackBerry Q10 is locked.
I hope this information helps, be sure to let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • 808PV screen lock problem

    Hi,
increasingly of late, and now permanently, when the screen locks on my 808, either by the slider or timer, the screensaver doesn't appear.
The screen stays as it is and bright all the time. The screen is locked and the lock symbol appears, but no screensaver.
I used to be able to solve it by rebooting several times, but no longer.
Anyone seen this before or got any ideas how to solve it?
    Cheers,
    Antony

    Hi macaroni,
the following procedure might help you - it worked for me a few times:
Go to Menu -> Settings -> Themes -> Screensaver.
The hook on the left side might be on "none" or "big clock" or "Sleeping Screen", it does not matter.
Now select "none" and select your desired screensaver again (if you choose Sleeping Screen, you'll see a configuration window, go back).
Lock your phone and see if the screensaver appears.
