Screen looks brown! can screens get dirty under the glass?

Hi,
My 12 inch screen on my powerbook is about 5 years old. When I open a word doc. ,for example, a broad area of the screen looks a kind of brownish colour. can screens get dirty under the glass? Is there a way to fix this kind of thing?

Thanks for your response. I guess my case is unusual. I haven't seen this happen to other late 2002 apples. I used to regularly use an iBook G3 and it never happened to that one. To show you a picture, I guess I'll paste an ad in craigslist with just a picture with what's wrong with it and paste it alone.

I am wanting to purchase an iPad for myself and kids but I am wondering if they need to be setup under a different Apple account or just one. What about my iPhone that is under that account? So how many devices can be linked to an account before it is maxed out?

I'm not sure what the total limit is (or if there is one), but two iPads and one iPhone is no problem - you only need one account and you can have the same apps on all three devices if you want without any issues (I have an iPad, iPhone and iPod without problems). There was a thread a few weeks ago about a newspaper app (though it could have been a magazine), where the issue could only be downloaded to one device, but that is the only time I've heard about that limit.

Where what is? The Apple store? There's many. There's also a list on the homepage of all the Apple stores worldwide. You can also send them in to Apple. They hand them out like candy. Just send in your old ones, or go to any local Apple store, show them your headphones, explain your problem, and you're guaranteed new headphones.

In the printer driver (accessed through the Page Setup button) set the Advanced tab to borderless. Then in the right hand panel under Layout set all the margins to zero.

Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

It seems this problem is caused by the software to increase the readibility of upper letters (clock battery etc.) It be nice to leave us the control of choosing background letter color too if we are using brighter images or darker images.
I'm using iphone 4s and it appeared after I updated to new patch. 7.1.1.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

Turn it off. While pressing and holding the Home button, connect it to your computer with iTunes open. Hopefully you will be able to restore it after that. If not, it requires service.
