Screen map/calibration?

I have a strange thing going on with my new iTouch.
I can not control the volume if it is in Music mode.
or Search and Directions if in map view.
It's as if the screen is not working along the bottom.
I have tried resetting it but it has not fixed the issue.
In order to change the volume... I had to go into Settings > Music and clip the Volume Limit.
Now I am stuck with med volume.
If you remember the old Palm Pilots.... the screen calibration would drift and you would have to manually reset it.
It's as if that needs to happen
Any advice?

As far as I know, the iPod touch does not have any type of user-accessible screen calibration ability.
On the old Palms and most touch screen GPS navigation units of today, the touch screen used is a different technology which is pressure based. The iPod touch however uses a capacitive touch screen that is activated by bare skin and not pressure.
If you're having continuous problems with the touch screen, I would make an appointment at an Apple store to have it checked if you're past your exchange period. If you're within the return/exchange period if you purchased retail, simply exchange it there.

  • Best screen color calibration software?

It has recently become apparent that I desperately need to calibrate my screen for correct color. I inherited my current computer when starting a new job and have been working my way through updating programs, file, etc.
My questions is, what is the best software to buy to calibrate my screen? Any suggestions?

Besides hardware callibration, you need good screen that is made for graphic. You can't calibrate some low-cost screens. I suggest you Eizo screens, for example Eizo FlexScan S2433W (http://www.eizo.com/global/products/flexscan/s2433w/index.html) or Eizo ColorEdge CG241W (http://www.eizo.com/global/products/coloredge/cg241w/index.html) They are little expencive, but you will get the best.
Forgot to mention that you can buy Calibrator with screen also.
    Hope that helps.

  • Touch Screen Not Calibrated

I am trying to set up my Palm TX and the touch screen is not calibrated correctly.  When I touch an icon on the right side of the screen, it looks as if I'm touching something on the left side of the screen.  This is very frustrating.  I've heard that I might need to do a hard reset on the Palm, but need assistance. Can anyone help me?
    Thnx

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
First I would go into your Preferences on the device. In there click "Touchscreen" then Allign Screen. Tap on the targets the most accurately you can. The target will shift 3-4 times during this process. After the allignment is complete see if you are experiencing the same issue. If so, you may need to hard reset the device.
I hope this is helpful and let me know how it works out.

  • To get full screen map view

    Hi All,
I am using Oracle ADF along with mapviewer 11g. My Jdeveloper version is 11.1.1.4
My issue is I am not able to attain full screen mapview in Internet Explorer 7. The same code works fine in Mozilla. The source code is as below. It is a pity that IE is broadly used and thus I have to hardcode to reduce the viewable screen which is a pity.

    <dvt:mapLegend numberOfColumns="3"/>
    </dvt:map>

How do I workaround this to make it work in IE.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I would use an af:panelStretch component and put the dvt:map component into its center facet

  • MX700 Cisco telepresense screen color calibration

We have a cisco MX700 telepresense unit, having a color calibration issue, when the system is first turned on the screen on the left is blue, screen on the right is pink, when connecting the desktop colors are off.  I see a color calibration port on top of the unit, is this a color calibration issue or could it be something else?

  • Screen mis-calibrated while charging

Dialpad works fine unless I'm on a call.  If I'm on a call trying to type the number 5, it gives me 4 instead.  This happens consistently.
UPDATE:  After testing multiple apps it seems the screen is mis-calibrated  while charging.  If I remove the charger from the phone screen behavior returns to normal.  I first thought you had to be on a call to make this behavior happen but it happens in the launcher too as long as the Pre is charging.

That is strange. I do not get album art when the phone is locked and an album is playing. All my albums have album art too. I will reboot and try again, maybe it's a bug in iOS4.1?
FIXED !!! -- I just rebooted my iPhone and now it works. Strange.

  • LaserJet MFP275 TopShot touch screen needs calibration?

OK, I have a MFP275 TopShot laserjet that is out of warrenty - we have had it about 3 years now.
I have a problem in that the touchscreen is not calibrated.  Or is it broken? It does react to touch - weill, sometimes, but NEVER where you touch it and not the same reaction every time.
I would like to fix this but don't know how to (1) calibrate the touch screen and/or (2) find a replacement touch screen.
OR can I find some application that can do the same tasks as the control panel on the printer but from my Windows?
    Thanks
    Fred

OK, got some help but cannot touch (or activate) the Setup button.  Is that on the screen?  If so, does just touching in that area activate it?
    Thanks again

  • Screen not calibrated correctly

    Hi,
I've had my iPhone for ages now and have had quite a few problems with it... Cracked glass twice etc... The problem I have now is that the screen seems to have "decalibrated" itself. It doesn't register the touch where it actually happens. For example when i want to turn the iphone off, i have to swipe in the middle of the screen to control the slider which is on top... This has already happened once... Back then, I tried everything that could possibly work to fix it, numerous reboots, a restore etc. just to find that nothing works, I had it fixed by my carrier...
It happened when i was walking home,I was listening to some music, when I needed to switch to a different song it worked perfectly, but when i got home and took the iPhone out of my pocket it started having this problem again... I haven't tried restoring yet, will do, but I doubt that it will work. I've never heard of another person on Earth having this problem, yet here I am having it for the second time.
Thanks very much for replying, I love my iPhone but i feel like throwing it out of the window now...

Restore the phone. If that doesn't fix it, restore it as new. If that doesn't fix it, make an appointment at the genius bar. There is no way to re-calibrate the screen.

  • IPad touch screen not calibrated

My iPad's having problems with its touch screen because sometimes when I type with certain keys, it enters the key twice which is very annoying.
I'm actually typing on my iPad now and it's aautocorrect is the only thing that's fixing it right now. It seems like the lower right of my screen is very uncalibrated along with various spots. This also occurs in apps. For example, when I drag my finger across the screen to drag things it goes back to where it was at random intervals. Say I'm dragging an app to the first page, sometimes the app ggoes back to where it was when I'm a about to place it. I've tried resetting and restarting the iPad but it still has this problem. If aautocorrect wasn't on, this message would just aappear aass gibberish due to all of the double letters appearing even though I tap the key once.
This problem appears on every aapp and is on the iPad itself.

Try doing a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears.
If that does not help, take the iPad to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check out the screen to see if there is a hardware fault.

  • IMac Glossy Screens and Calibration

I talked to an Apple store rep the other week and when I asked when Apple would ever get a matte screen for their iMacs, she replied why did I want one? I replied that I do photographic work and the glossy screens were difficult to work with. "What? I have a friend and they love the gloss screens" They saw no need for the matte screens. I have to occasionally use my wife's Dell laptop 17" with a gloss screen and it drives me nuts.
    Found some support.
From Martin Evening's Photoshop CS5 book (pg 89) - "Meanwhile Apple's passion for glossy displays means that their newer displays are actually worse than the old ones. I have found it impossible to calibrate the new iMac displays and makes them unusable for Photoshop image editing. The only viable solution has been to run a secondary display off the iMac I take on location, which kind of defeats the reason for having an iMac in the first place!"
Has anybody heard of any hope of Apple bringing back the matte screen? (also the 24" iMac which was the perfect size.)

There are screen films that you can apply, but lots of folks here have reported mixed results.

  • Droid Eris Touch screen not calibrating

I've had my Eris since December '09.  A few days ago I noticed a significant decrease in the touch screen sensitivity.  Yesterday, I noticed that part of the screen is almost completely unresponsive, unless I held it down for a long time or tapped the screen hard.
Today, when I press the symbol to home, instead, it will select whatever is in the upper left corner, and the same for the lower right corner, selecting the upper right corner instead.
I've tried to recalibrate it, but all I can do is recalibrate the keyboard.  Is there a way, without doing a hard reset, to fix this?

That's most likely a hardware issue--either a component in the screen has failed or is in the process of failing. Your best bet is to bring it into a Verizon store for support--make sure to back up your data ahead of time, as they're required to try a factory reset before giving you a refurb unit. No sense in doing the reset yourself for a hardware issue when they're going to have to do it anyway.
And if you do need a refurb, make sure to ask them to swap your current SD card into the refurb unit, so you don't lose pictures, etc.

  • N82 screen not calibrated

Just picked up a shiny new black N82 on Orange yesterday, and as soon as I loaded some test videos onto it I noticed that blues are showing as purple, and its very annoying. Some other colours also look wrong, and it really ruins an otherwise great phone.
They were out of stock when I went back, so I don't yet know if its just my handset or all of them.
Any other N82 owners have the same issue?
    Cheers
    Barry

Yes, unfortunately this problem still occures on most of Nokia N series models that are using this type of display (2.4" active matrix TFT); actually there are 2 different types of TFT's: first of them showing natural sharp vivid colours, but the other one combines nuances of purple with all related colours (already felt it on my own **bleep** with two of my ex-phones N73 & N82 that were bought in a rush).
For sure you're the unlucky owner of a phone that has the second type of display built-in (
My friendly advice for you is to test at least two items when you'll go back to the store for your replacement. You also can ask the guy at the shop to replace your device when receiving a new lot of N82.
Good luck with your replacement and next days let us know what happened.

  • Macbook Pro 13" Screen Model 9CAO Calibration help?

This is the screen that I have on my new Macbook Pro. Would anyone out there have a screen profile calibration for this screen model that I could add to my screen (display) profiles. I have tried a few profiles meant for other screen model #s, but I think these screens vary quite a lot.
