"Screen Melting" with KMS, new x lagginess without it

A recent update installed KMS and for awhile everything was fine. However, a subsequent call to pacman -Syu didn't have such an innocuous effect. I have no idea what's going on. I've never seen this before.
X windows and video display in general is fast with KMS enabled; however, something randomly goes very wrong. All of a sudden, my screen appears to be darkening from the edges, moving towards the center, while at the same time everything blurs together and the screen appears to be "oozing" liquid crystal from the top and bottom. Obviously, the machine is totally unresponsive when this happens. It's like a very distressing special effect.
Fortunately, I can manually reboot the machine and get the system back up. So far, this has never happend when working solely in the terminal frame buffer. On the other hand, when I disable KMS via "nomodeset" (or any other tricks mentioned on the wiki or in the forums), all graphical components are incredibly laggy, and it's not like I'm doing any fancy desktop cube, wobbly windows, or compositing of any sort; I'm using Ion, a 1MG tiling window manager.
At any rate, this is very annoying. I've asked for help in the achlinux freenode channel to no avail. I don't even know what kernel version or xorg server version or ati driver version to rollback to. I have always used xf86-video-ati without a single problem; now scrolling, tabbing between windows, switching viewports, etc. lags as if my CPU is constantly maxed out (and it's not).

My video card is an X300 mobile radeon. Dell inspiron 6000. A couple years old.

I have the same problem with my ATI X1700. In my case it happens from time to time when system starts up.
You can try to disable KMS and then disable "glx" module in X server by adding the following entry to xorg.conf:
Section "Module"
Disable "glx"
EndSection

"Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone “Ryan's iPhone” will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library."
What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

I work on two screens. With the new updates, my computer will not automatically open a new window on the second screen.

Thank you for your question, I understand that it is annoying to have to move a new window to the second screen. Since it opens in the active screen this may have been a stored preference, however it is not the default.

Transferring photos from your computer has nothing to do with your iTunes account/Apple ID.
Photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring photos from another, all photos on the iPad that were transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPad first - even if the photos were transferred from the old or different computer to the new computer being used for syncing.
When transferring photos from your computer, what is named the iPod Photo Cache is created on your computer for the photos that are transferred and why you see new photos being transferres are optimized before the actual transfer process. The iPod Photo Cache for these photos on the computer the photos were transferred from is not available on your new computer.
Since all photos on your iPad that were transferred from the old or different computer should remain on that computer, transfer the photos from that computer to your new computer. These photos on your iPad will be erased with the first sync but will be re-transferred along with a new iPod Photo Cache for these photos being created on your new computer.

I have an iPhone 4s. The email I need to use is completely locked because Windows believed someone else was trying to use my account (another reason Windows and I don't seem to get along). Anyway, I think my little sister may have accidentally clicked "Forgot my Password" while trying to download an app on my iPad that was under the same ID. So, an email was sent to my old hotmail account that is lockedried unlocking it, but the alternate email that was listed was an old one of my moms and she can't remember what her username was. I tried answering security questions on my Apple ID to maybe get my password to reset that way, but - since I made this account when I was about 12 or 13 - I can't even begin to remember what the answers to the security questions are. (And before anyone gets on a pedestal about how I was too young to be doing something like this, I did have parent supervision and wanted something like this of my own, so lets stick to the ACTUAL problem). So, main problem here. I now have about 30 app updates that are under an account I basically have no access to. I've deleted the apps from my home screen and tried downloading them with my new Apple ID, but it shows as if it's stored in the cloud and will only let me download it from the old Apple ID. Is there any possible way to dissociate my apps from my old ID and associate them with my newer one WITHOUT completely resetting my phone?

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

I'm sure this is a common issue, and I've google-searched for solutions but I cannot find a straight forward answer anywhere. I really hope an expert here can help me out.
I purchased an iPad last year and synced it with my iTunes library on my old PC laptop. Well, my PC laptop harddrive crashed last week and I cannot access anything on my laptop anymore. Excited about my new purchase, I quickly hooked up my iPad with the hopes of easily transferring and accessing my iPages, iNumbers, and other productivity iPad apps seamlessly to my new beautiful Mac Book Pro. But now I've run into the nightmarish dilemma of not being able to sync my beloved Ipad with my new MAC without getting the warning that basically says "your iPad is already synced with another iTunes Library. You may only sync to one iTunes Library at a time. You will lose all your data if you sync to this new computer."
Can someone give me a straightfoward answer as to how I can sync my iPad with my new iTunes Library on my new Mac Book Pro without losing any of the apps that I previously purchased? I want to be able to access the apps I downloaded on my iPad on my Mac Book Pro.

While it isn't as easy to just use a Mac iDevice as media storage as Android and Windows, you can add documents and such like Word, PDF and others manually in iTunes to have them sync as well.

Firefox is fantastic except when I have a problem. I must be real stupid. I have sent questions about different issues in the past and I see I got a lot of help. Unfortunately I cannot read any results. That is why I quit Firefox for a while. I just decided to give it another try; Firefox is worth it.
I have had Firefox installed on my "Win 7 Home" laptop for some time without updating it. It contains all my bookmarks from some time back. I just came back to Firefox and installed it on both my desktop machines with Win 7 Pro. The new Firefox sync and pairing are different. I cannot pair my old laptop with my new machines to copy all my bookmarks. I also cannot pair my two desktops.
What makes it worse, I cannot get the laptop to join the same home group my desktops are in. I tried different combinations with each computer and laptop creating the home group, but I could not get either desktop to be in the same home group as the laptop. The desktops would join each other's home group but not the laptop's. I can see all machines are connected to my home network. This dummy needs help.

A manual backup will do what you want. Here's how to:
Make sure your iTunes account is set up on your new Mac. Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases (Apps and bought media) by choosing File->transfer purchases in the iTunes menu.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

As with the previous iOS versions.
Press and hold the Home button and use the on/off or sleep/wake button as a camera shutter button for the screen shot.
Or while pressing and holding the on/off or sleep/wake button before the slide to power of appears, use the Home button as a camera shutter button - this must be done before the slide to power off appears.

I have been using an iPhone 4S for a few months now. Yesterday my PC crashed and I had to reboot the whole system.
So, obviously I had to reinstall iTunes.
Now, when I am connecting my phone with iTunes, it is informing me that my phone was synced with another iTunes library and if I sync it with this one, it will erase all data and do a fresh sync with the current library.
I have alot of important data, photos, contacts, messages, music on my phone now. I can't do without that.
How do I sync without losing my data? ? Help!

can't if you do not have access to the old library (the usual workaround is to backup the old library and import it to the new itunes)
for important data...
sync your existing contacts with icloud, your text messages will not be disrupted, music will sync with whatever music you have on your new itunes, photos shoud still be in the camera roll (I would sync them to photostream before you sync, just in case). Any photos on your phone that are not in camera roll or photostream... if you lost those pictures with the computer crash I would take screen shots (lock button + home button at the same time) of each photo so they show up in the camera roll. App data may or may not be lost. In my experience, it depends on the app. Some of the apps recognize your apple ID and sync data over the internet with servers, some do not. I would take note of important data (such as passwords in a password keeper if you have such an app) just in case if you lose that data.
