Screen mode with floating windows missing in Photoshop cs6?

Hi,
How can I show two images open in Photoshop CS6  - next to each other?
Going through the screen modes by pressing F like in Photoshop CS5 doesn't get me there. That screen mode with the floating windows seems to be missing.
I need it for comparisions and for dragging layers between the two images.
Is the floating window screen mode achievable in CS6 or how else can I put two opened images next to each other on Photoshop's workspace?
Thanks!

Thanks!
It's so amusing: you get a new version of Photoshop and one of your well-known features is not where it used to be. Immediately an ancient fear takes over that the feature might have gone away.
Which is, of course, never happening. There's even "sharpen" and "sharpen more" available in Photoshop.
Bottom line: the new way of doing things are actually even better. You just need to pull the images off their tabs.

  • Full Screen Mode with Window Tabs? (Mac)

I have never been able to use Full Screen Mode / Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar because my Window Tabs disappear.
Until now I have ignored this but I really want to start making the most of my screen space. I don't understand how people can go into full screen mode without tabs of their open documents. It makes the experience completely useless to me and I can't believe I can't find any solutions online. I feel like I am overlooking a simple button somewhere on the screen thinking "surely Adobe would include this!?"
    Please help.
I am currently on 13 inch MacBook Pro using CS6 beta.

Thanks for the reply, but I already know of this 'workaround', and it isn't a solution for me. There is no functionality in cycling through windows with no idea when you will arrive at the correct PSD. I usually have quite a few open at the same time and I am constantly skipping between them nice and simply with the tabs...Please Adobe just add an option for tabs, all the other components of the layout are optional in full screen, why not tabs?
Putting in a feature request for tabs in full screen mode is a good idea. One thing Photoshop could do in full screen mode is reveal the menu bar and tabs when the mouse is near the top of the screen. This is sort of an ad-hoc standard in tabbed apps like Chrome and Firefox. Even Adobe Photoshop Lightroom reveals the menu bar in this way, but Photoshop continues to use the same full screen behavior that it had back in the 1990s, when it was one of the few full-screen apps available.
One workaround is to turn off Window > Application Frame, and when you're in full screen mode use Lion's Mission Control to pick a specific window. This works even better if you use or assign a shortcut to view the windows of a single application.

As a career-long Mac-user I am not accustomed to tabs and therefore don’t need or use them.
Tabs have been in Mac apps, such as Apple Safari and Final Cut Pro, for many years.

  • [Non IE Regression] Support for full screen mode with multiple monitors

This seems to be a regression with Flash Player v11.2.202.x (for all other browsers).
With Internet Explorer it is still working.

== Support for full screen mode with multiple monitors ==
Full screen content will remain in full-screen on secondary monitors, allowing users to watch full-screen content while working on another display.
    Tested on Windows 7 x64 SP1 with:
    - Internet Explorer 9
    - Firefox Release, Beta, Aurora, Nightly
    - Opera 12 build 1116
    In bugbase.adobe.com I cannot choose v11.2.x

  • Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar -blue

For some reason the 'Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar' option has a blue background now. The background used to be gray, and then one time i opened up Photoshop and now the background is blue. It is very annoying and affects my painting. The grey was neutral, now it is blue so my colors are going to appear off.
If you don't know what i mean: Open Photoshop, make a canvas (new image) Hit the key "F" on your keyboard 2 times so the canvas takes up the entire page but the menu bars are still up. The color around the canvas is Blue, when it has ALWAYS been gray.
Please someone tell me how to fix this.

I found out a solution. If anybody ever encounters this problem just right click on the background and select Gray. :)

That camera model has been supported since ACR 8.3 and it is most certainly supported by ACR 8.6 and ACR 8.7 (beta).
Either you have damaged, corrupt image files, or a faulty Photoshop and/or ACR installation.
If there are no privacy issues, you can post one of your files to the FTP service of your choice (such as Dropbox or yousendit.com), post the link to it, and someone here can take a look at it for you.

  • Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar view mode appears with Blue Background??

Can someone please help me figure out what I did exactly to unintentionally change the "Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar" view mode so that it now appears with a Blue Background, instead of the default gray one....and better yet, can someone let me know how I can switch it back to displaying the default gray background instead?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

    >let me know how I can switch it back to displaying the default gray background
SHIFT-Click the Paint Bucket pool in that area using the gray of your choice (e.g. 132, 132, 132).
(That's probably what you did to turn it blue.)
Or, more drastically, you can trash your preferences.

  • PS CS6, Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar, Zoom, Brush, Auto Pan

There seems to be a functionality that was lost (or I can't find it) in CS6 that was in earlier versions.  When I am In Full Screen Mode with Menu and the image I am editing is zoomed in, I used to be able to shift+click my brush to extend a line.  That line would automatically reposition the image when I got to the edge of the screen.  Does anyone know if that functionality is gone or do I need to turn "something on”?
    1. I open a file
    2. I ender Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar
    3. I enlarge the photo so that its boundaries are beyond the edge of the screen
    4. I enter mask mode (doesn't matter what mode)
    5. With my brush tool I start to paint a line by holding the "shift" key and "left-click"
    6. I get to the edge of the screen
    * this is where PS would reposition the image automatically and I could keep painting my line

Which operating system are you using?

  • When i installed windows 8 my photoshop cs6 flashes and blinks, please help

When i installed windows 8 my photoshop cs6 started to blink and flash. Is there an update i need to do ? please help

When installing the audio driver, was it installed by following the prompts or in compatibility mode as outlined here?
Based on the Software and Drivers page for this unit, the unit was not tested and certified for Windows 8.  This means that some functionality may not be the same since the unit was not designed for Windows 8.  See this site for information and to find out if it has been tested for Windows 8.
If the sound driver has not been installed in compatibility mode, then I recommend using the Windows 7 64bit driver found here and using the linked steps above to install it in compatibility mode.
    Let me know what happens.

  • Full screen mode with two displays ?

I use a second Apple Display with my iMac. When you enter into "full screen" with an app with Lion does it only become full screen on one of your displays leaving the other screen un-effected?  Or, does it black out the other screen?
When you are in full screen mode can you place windows from the full screen app on the other display that is not in full screen mode?
    Thanks.
    Eli

    @captfred.
    I'm still running 10.6.
I find it strange that iPhoto 8.1 has the ability to enter full screen without disabling or effecting the other display. You can even take a separate iphoto window, the effects window for example, and drag it to the other display. All while in full screen mode.  Does this functionality disappear in Lion?
    Is this behavior app specific?

  • Full screen mode with zoom tools

With a PDF that defaults to opening in Full Screen mode, is it possible to make the zoom in and out tools show by default so that the user doesn't have to use keyboard shortcuts?

    CtDave,
I already considered doing that, but some pages are quite long which means I'd need maybe 3 pairs of zoom buttons on those pages so that they would still be visible as the user is scrolling. That adds a lot of clutter. I was hoping there was a way to give users a 'floating' zoom in/out bar that would be available as they scrolled down through the page, similar to the navigation buttons that can be made visible in full screen mode if turned on in preferences.

  • Having screen rendering / memory problems with Microsoft Outlook 2013 and full screen mode with large 2560x1440 dual monitors

MS Outlook 2013 seems to work fine for a while until a) enough time passes or b) I have multiple MS Outlook windows open. Then I start to see all sorts of graphical issues ranging from certain parts of the outlook window not rendering to certain functions
locking etc.  Occassionally, when I decrease from full screen I get the screens to render correctly, making me think there's something unique with full screen mode that is causing the issue.   There seems to me to be quite a bit of memory issues
    with this version.
I have a beast of a graphics card, 32gb of RAM, and a fast SSD, so don't think its the machine.
    Thoughts?

    Hi,
Does this happen to other applications?
If it's specific to Outlook, consider to check the hardware acceleration option:
Go to FILE tab -> Options -> Advanced -> Display -> Disable hardware graphics acceleration, turn this option on or off to check the result.
If the issue persists, please also consider whether any 3rd-party add-ins are interfering with Outlook, we can start Outlook in Safe Mode:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
If there's no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which caused the problem.

  • In full screen mode (with "Hide Toolbars" selected), is there a way to make FF stop bumping the page up and down everytime I move the mouse to the top of the screen to reveal/hide the toolbar?

In other words, is there a way to make FF behave like IE9 in full screen mode where the toolbar appears "over" the page rather than pushing the page down?

    Hello,
Could you please elaborate what exactly you are referring to with "I can't get the link to diplay as a different colour"?
Regarding your second query, I am afraid it is not possible using Adobe Muse. However it can be a very nice feature request.
I would suggest you to post this as a feature request on our "Ideas for features in Adobe Muse" section of the forums : http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas

  • Full screen mode with VB

    Hello everyone,
I'm working on a small MS Access database for maintaining and displaying spareparts.
I have two ActiveX-controls with "Adobe PDF Reader " in the OLE-property.
I have already managed to display the PDFs needed there. Now I need to access the "open in full screen mode" - property in the PDF-documents, so they are displayed without any bars etc.
I have linked the AcroPDF.dll but I did't find a solution with it.
The users of the database will only have the Acrobat Reader on their systems.
Thanks for your help in advnace
    Regards
    Roman

    Hello,
    thanks for your replies.
The Acobat SDK is available on the machines where the PDF-files are linked to the database.
With "PDdoc.SetPageMode 1" I have already eliminated the bookmarks in my Active-X-control.
But is it also possible to  set the "open with fullscreen"- or "open fit to with"-parameter in the documnets options?
I just found solutions with a java-script in the document.
    Thanks & regards
