Screen moving

My son went crazy on my g4 laptop and pressed a bunch of buttons. Now everytime I move the mouse the computer screen moves as well. I've been to settings and c/n fix. Anyone have any idea to fix this?

Use the keys ⌘ alt 8 to turn off Zoom. You can also go into *System Preferences* and under *Universal Acess* turn off Zoom.

At night, as soon as I plug my iphone to be recharged, my iphone starts behaving anomaly.  It is like somebody has taken control of it.  I see the screens moving, music starts playing and then stopping, etc.  I have noticed that several nights.  What I do is in Settings is to change  into Plane Mode, thinking that, may be if I do that, somebody that has taking control of it will not be able to download data.  Yesterday night, I was awakened by an alarm, whose setting I did not changed. When I looked over, the alarm screen changed to Settings and the Plane Mode changed alone in front of my eyes, from on to off.
I have not observed such a situation during the day. Only when I plug the cable.
I suspected that may be there is no Trojan installed. May be the cable, which is a spare cable, has been modified by a hacker, and it has electronics installed in the connector.  But tested with the original cable, and the behavior was the same, as described above.

    Thanks Meg for your reply.
It could be that both cable are bad. But, anyway, you would not expect any of these manifestations, even with a bad cable. I had bad cable for my 4s, and never saw such a thing!
I contacted by chat the support of Apple.  They told me that this behavior could be a software problem and recommended me to do a full recover of my iphone. That meant, putting in at the factory conditions and recup all the data from the backup.  I did that, and the behavior did not change.  The backup was made with the data of my PC, not icloud.  Tomorrow will try with icloud and check if that will work.

  • Display freezes at boot until screen moved

March 2010 Macbook Pro 15 - display freezes at boot from cold.
First image is dark purple, this lightens to patchy grey with vertical lines.
Move the screen and the display changes to account log in screen, but track pointer is frozen and screen gamma rises until display is whiteout with vertical lines.
Freeze and whiteout can last up to 90 seconds now, freeing for a fresh display each time screen is moved then freezing again.
Problem getting worse - lasts longer and now occurs on wake as well as boot.
Have updated everything, checked for malware, cleaned all app content, run disk utility/ repair, hardware check, reset permissions, reset PRAM, reset gamma, reset SMC - not helped. No history of damage!
Took to Apple - they replaced logic board and graphic card - problem not fixed.
Any advice to give me to give them when I go back to the bar?
    Thanks

    1. Start up in Safe Mode.(shift key at startup)
    a. Drag the Fonts folder from the Mac OS 9 System Folder (not the Mac OS X System folder) to the desktop.
    b. Drag the Fonts folder from ~/Library/Fonts to the desktop.
    b. Restart the computer in Mac OS X.
    c. If this solves the problem....you have a corrupt font in one of the above font folders
    2. Remove incompatible third-party startup items.
    a. Start up in Safe Mode.(shift at startup)
    b. Open the Mac OS X hard disk.
    c. Drag third-party items out of ....
    /Library/StartupItems .......
/System/Library/StartupItems ... Place them on the desktop .... If you're unsure whether an item is a third-party item or an Apple-installed item, don't move it.
    d.Restart the computer.
Note.. If this resolves the issue, add the Startup Items one at a time until the symptom occurs again. That way you'll know which one is incompatible. Repeat these steps and remove the incompatible item.

Since updating my iPad version 1 to iOS 4.3.2 it is freezing and the screen is moving vertically. Can anyone help? I tried updating all my apps as I initially thought this might be the issue. It did not help. Can I remove the update? Will I lose data if I do that? My planner is on my iPad.

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

  • Macbook 13.3 white, the screen goes off and only comes on when screen moved

    Hi.
I have the macbook 13.3 in white, early 2009 model. The screen keeps going off and the only way I can get it back on is to move the screen back and forth. By the looks of things this is a common problem and it's usually related to a cable between the screen and the logic board.
My question is, how easy is it to open the mac up and get to this cable to re-connect it properly?
Or do Apple repair this FOC due to it being a popular problem?
    Thanks
    Mark

My girlfriend has a white macbook that is just over the year warranty.  We were going to get the Apple care, but forgot as we got the computer at Best Buy and didn't expect to have problems.  I've always previously been a PC guy and had never had problems with my Dells. They all still run and work perfectly but are just obsolete in many ways.
I'm very disappointed with the Macbook.  The screen freezes and fades to white and you have to move the screen to get it to work.  The computer is still running fine, it just seems like a connection to the screen that is the problem.  I brought it to the "genius bar" and they went down and opened up the computer.  When I got it back they advised it might be the cable for the screen or the screen itself.  He went on to say Apple will not just fix that problem, the only option is to have Apple do a $470 (I believe that's what I was quoted) warrantied overhaul of the entire machine.  They don't just fix the problem, they go through the whole machine for $470 and its warrantied.  He said a computer repair shop could probably fix the problem cheaper.  My problem is that this was a fairly expensive machine that is barely over a year old and its having a problem that it seems many people are having and their only solution is to spend half the money of a new one to fix something as small as a cable that is definitely their fault.  I do not think the screen needs to be replaced or the logic board as when you pinch the screen and angle it, it works amazingly.  I opened up the machine just to take a look and it seems that the cable for the video goes through the hinge and there is a pleat inside the hinge shaped to contour the outside of the machine when closed that tugs on the cable slightly.  I also saw that there was some missing screws that the "Genius Bar" may not have put back.  They told me they unplugged and inspected the video cable and the computer worked better for a while which leads me even more to believe there is something wrong with the cable and the hinge design.
I think Apple should fix this problem.  This problem that is becoming more and more common and it is definitely a product defect.  We are paying a decent dollar for these products compared with PC laptops out there.  I'd like to see some decent service.  This is not a $470 "one fix fits all" problem for the customer, this is an easy fix for the company to make on faulty products.  It will cost them little and its the right thing to do.  I predict more and more people will be complaining about this problem in the coming year.  They should not be able to profit on this flaw after so recently profiting on the machines.

  • Clicking noise from the screen moving

My Phone is making a clicking noise on the right hand side of the screen, the movement of the screen cannot be seen but it can easily be felt. ive seen this as a problem before from other questions and how most cases have been sorted, however my phone has scratch marks on it, not from being dropped, just from a set of keys in my pocket! :/ will my phone still be covered by warranty to be replaced?

No one here can speak for Apple about what they will do. They'll examine it and make a decision nor do we have any idea what they will think.

  • IBook G4 blinks out when screen moved; use crash logs to diagnose?

My iBook G4 (bought 1.5 years ago) blinks out when the screen's position is even slightly adjusted. Sometimes it doesn't care to wake from sleep, either.
Would it be possible to figure out what's going wrong by examining the console logs?
Thanks - if this is the time for a repair, I'm hoping the computer itself can tell me the problem.
    Greg

It sounds like you may have two different problems. Waking from sleep and shutting down because of movement are probably not related. However, I would recommend you have an Apple Authorized Service Provider check out your iBook out for the crashing problem first. That could be a hardware problem. Once that's been eliminated, then you could start troubleshooting your wake from sleep problems.
The logs might be much better at determining a software problem, since you can see what command or software might have been causing trouble. If your iBook shuts down because of a hardware problem, that kind of trouble isn't really being tracked by the logs. Only the operating system & software functions are.

  • Screen moving up and down in remote desktop

    Hi!
I'm having this trouble since months ago. I conect to a server from desktop remote and everything works fine, until I minimize the remote desktop, I do some things on my local PC and I go back to my remote desktop, when I maximize, most of the times the
whole screen(only the server) moves up and down and doesn´t allow me to do anything. Later stop doing that and I can work perfectly.
I had tried to close and open it again, change de screen resolution, and it doesn´t work that either.
I would really apreciate if somebody can help me to solve this! thanks!

    Hi,
Firstly, please let us know the OS version of your local system and remote system.
Meanwhile, what do you mean that the screen moves up and down? Would you please provide us screenshots.
    Thanks.

  • Imac 27 - new problem - screen moved up and dock in the middle.

I was wondering if any of you had this problem as well. I restarted already comp and everything seems to be ok (question for how long), at this moment but just few min ago I had a dock horizontally in the middle of my screen with black and white stripes above and under that. Is there any chance that after spending so much money I will stop to be afraid what will happen next with my Imac? I am afraid to put it into sleep and wake it up. ;((((((((

Apple just released Mac OS X 10.6.2, so you should install it. First, I would run Disk Utility and use +Repair Disk Permissions+ on the internal startup volume. When that completes, quit Disk Utility. You don't have to, but I usually restart immediately before running Software Update.
Software Update is under the Apple Menu. When you run it, it should show Mac OS X Update 10.6.2. Install it. It has many general fixes, and some are related to the new iMac models.
Hopefully, you won't have that odd problem you described going forward.

  • Fuzzy screen, moving pixels, only in colour, not in grayscale NOT zoom prob

    Hi,
I was using messenger on my macbook, which is about 30 days old, and the screen began to go a bit fuzzy in one patch, I closed the program and now the screen is just fuzzy all over.
The best way to describe this is like a telly with interference, there are visible pixels in the wrong colour, its almost impossible to read, when you highlight areas the pixels which are dodgy change and its generally all fuzzy.
This is not a zoom problem, I have updated all software downloads AND when you turn the computer into grayscale in universal access the problem goes away, its only there when its in colour!
There a screen shot of the problem here:

    can anyone help?
    Thanks,

sorry, just trying to work out how to move this to mac pro forum!

isltd82, I understand you have attempted majority of the beginning trouble shooting steps to resolve your issue and you are continuing to have the same problem.  I was able to locate this as an issue reported to our technical support team for your model phone. This issue may be due to an application installed on your phone. One application that can cause this issue is the Antivirus Free application (droidSecurity, Inc). If you have other applications that you have downloaded on your phone and do not use on your device, I also recommend removing them from your device.
Listed below are the steps to uninstall applications. Once you have uninstalled all of the applications you are not using, please power cycle your device off and on. If you continue to have issues with your phone, we will need to speak with you and perform additional trouble shooting.
Applications included with the Android Operating System may not have an uninstall option.
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
    Touch Settings.
    Touch Applications.
    Touch Manage applications.
    Touch an application.
    Touch Uninstall.
    Touch OK.
    Touch OK.
