Screen Name Changes?

First, sorry about putting this discussion here, I wasn't sure where else to put it.
I was wondering, is there a way to change my forum screen name? It didn't look like it allowed me in my forum settings...

Welcome to the forums. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by your screen name. Do you mean in BlackBerry Messenger?

Screen name change

i want to change my discussion screen name, how?

Just elaborating on Don Archibald's reply.
You also cannot delete your present account. Just stop using it, after you have created a new one.
If you create a new account, your Level(0), Points(0), Total Posts(47), Total Posts Online(47) and Registered Date(5/31/07), will not be transferred.
In the new account, your Post Counts, Points, & Level Status will all start at 0. Your Registered Date will be the date you create the new account.
Your old account, with your previous counts & level, will still be viewable, under the old Alias.
After you quit using the old account, those posts, will be archived. What that means is, that if there are no additional responses in the Threads they reside in, the Topics will get continually pushed down on the Topics list. After a certain amount of time, maybe 2 to 6 months, the Threads will be locked, so no responses can be entered. But the Threads will not disappear.
Threads in heavily trafficked Forums, may be archived more rapidly than those in areas, with less activity.
The Topics that you started using the old account, will show your Old Alias, in the Author field of a main forum page, but eventually, readers will have to keep going to the succeeding pages to view them.
If someone were to do a Discussions Search, using these parameters:
Restrict by Category or Forum: All Categories
Restrict by Date Range: All
Restrict by Username: Your Old Alias
all of your posts, created since about 11/13/05, would be found.
To create a new account,
Log out of Discussions. You also may have to delete the Apple Cookies in your browser preferences, but I'm not sure this is necessary. Then follow either of these instructions.

If you haven't signed up for an Apple ID for the Apple Store or AppleCare Support website (or forgot your old one), you can create a new account on the My Info webpage. Just click the "create one" link on the right side of the My Info page. Choose your country location and preferred language from the appropriate pop-up menus, then click Create Account. In the resulting page, enter a unique name (such as your email address) in the Apple ID field and fill in your other relevant information accordingly (fields marked with * are required). Click Continue to complete the process.
-To register, click Login in the sidebar on the right side of the Discussions page. In the resulting page, click the "create one" link at the bottom of the page, then click "create one" in the subsequent page and follow the instructions to create an Apple ID. For more information, see the Apple ID FAQ page.

Screen Name Change - unavailable

I have tried to change my screen name from curt y to Curt Y in Your Account/Account Information. Says name is unavailable. Yet a search shows no hits for it. Is there some other thing I am missing?
Had the same problem when we switched to new forum. Old name was unavailable.

Only problem with my name changing is that it seems to come in the middle of the night. I wake up and boom! name's been changed.
Now, I did try for "Bill Hunt," and even the older "BILL HUNT," but hit the same wall as you have. I did not think to try Jochem's method though. Should have thought of that myself. One observation: Adobe forum told me that "Bill Hunt" was NOT available, but that is what it gave me recently? That might well indicate that Jochem is onto something, with his rec.

Yah! I've updated my name.....no longer M Golding back to osgood_ (albeit with a . infront of it - name field in Adobe profile can't be left blank)
I can only think the forum is now applying the Adobe 'name' profile instead of the 'screen name'.....maybe? In that case is there any reason to have a 'screen name' option in the Abobe profile section......humm.
Now just need to sort out how to see who has replied to the threads without having to open them each time, which defeats the objective if you cant keep track of who is replying without opening the 'door'...........maybe there is an option for that somewhere I'm overlooking?

Why is my on screen name not changing

Hi all
I logged in and changed my login name yesterday [email protected], this worked ok
I also changed my on screen name, but it has not changed.
I saved it and when i go into my account preferences it has changed, but it has not changed on the upper right of my screen or it hasn't changed when i post any messages

Why oh why are the easiest things in life becoming so difficult.
It's not just the cost of a call, but the time and energy i have to put into this, when i already had a 15 minute
chat online with support and they couldn't help. Plus the issue with downloading trials with the download manager
which wasted 2-3 hours of my day to get the ftp links that could just be put on the web site instead..
Can someone in Adobe just fix this without i having to call and explain everything again.

Sorry about this, but the system for changing your Screen Name is currently not available via the corporate website.
Since the UI team implemented the new skin for the 2014 release of CC, they switched over to using https://accounts.adobe.com for managing your "profile" - but this is only designed for stuff relating to a CC subscription.
The problem was reported internally in June, still waiting for them to respond. Until they fix it you can follow this link to an unlisted page, where the old Account Manager is still functional:

You need to be logged in to the corporate website before clicking that link. It will work for any localization, including EDU customers.

Changing .mac screen name

I'd like to use iChat through my .mac account but don't want my name showing up with the @mac.com suffix. is there any way to change the screen name used by .mac, or do i have to go get an AIM user name and sign on with that?

Welcome to the Apple Discussion Pages
You can try at the .mac page and go to your account to see if you can change it but it will still appear as [email protected] as the iChat name.
AIM names can be a bit more annoymous.

iChat takes this name for the spot at the top of the Buddy List.
It takes the Buddy list details from iChat if you have just a Buddy's screen name and from their card in the Addres Book if you added Real Names.
The Exception is that when registering an AIM name you can choose how it is displayed.

I believe no edit capability for changing screen name has ever been provided. That would just lead to confusion, once you already have a posting history. Think about it.
