While on safari, screen not rotating.

Have you tried closing Safari from the multitasking bar then reopening? Chances are it's just a random glitch.

Nobody here can answer a question like that. Try rebooting your iPad and see if that helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Please check in the settings if the screen rotation is unlocked. Go to Settings> Screen rotation> Set to OFF.
It is also possible that the problem is on the hardware side, particularly with the accelerometer. You may send the phone to Nokia Care Point for proper device status evaluation. To locate a service center, please navigate through this page at http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/support/locations

IPhone 6 Plus Screen Not Rotating in Text Message Mode

Brand new 6 Plus, and it seems about half the time when I click in the "message" portion to start typing a text and rotate the phone on it's side 80 percent of the time it does not rotate into Landscape "horizontal" mode, but stays in Portrait mode "vertical". Screen Lock is not on. I do not have large text or large screen size on. I have turned the phone off and on. I have reformatted the phone twice and started fresh with a new 8.1 install. As an avid emailer/texter and someone who relies on their phone for their business, I am hoping to find a solution soon.

I've also experienced this same problem using snapseed. It's really frustrating to use the app.

The screen is not rotating even though rotation is enabled and it is in standard view. This happens with all apps both Apple and third party.

I have the same issue too. It's intermittent and can sometimes be fixed by turning the iPhone off then on again. Some of my photos are up the wrong way because the camera app didn't rotate to landscape mode when taking the photo. My wife has a 6 too with nil issues.
I rang Apple who said to restore the iPhone to see how that goes but I haven't had the time yet.
Would like to hear from anyone who had this issue and fixed it.

HP Envy X360 - Screen not rotating in Tent mode

I got this Hp ENVY, Model 15-u110dx laptop recently. When I try to use the Laptop in TENT mode, screen is not rotating. I dont use this option much. It was working before normally. But suddenly, I dont see the screen to rotate when I try to use laptop in TENT or Tablet mode. I searched the formum for such similar issue and I dont see anyone has reported that earrlier. Why does my screen not rotate correctly?

My ipad opens up OK, but when i open an app, the display turns upside down (rotates 180 degrees) and after that will not rotate at all.

all the apps designed for landscape will work on both sides in landscape and if portrait will work both side,
If the app is not responding properly,close all the apps and switch off the iPad ,and switch on after 2 minutes,
This should fix the problem.

Yoga 2 Pro - Screen not rotating on new Windows 8.1 install

I got my new Yoga 2 Pro last week and the screen rotation worked properly.
I decided to wipe the partitions and install my own version of Windows 8.1.
Since then the screen rotation doesn't work. The screen rotation button doesn't do anything and I don't have the 'Enable auto-rotate' checkbox in the resolution screen
In my device manager I have an error on 'HID Sensor collection' saying "This decice cannot start" (Code 10). Failed to initialize sensor from HID collection descriptor". I am not sure if this is related.
Can anyone help me?

I was able to fix my problem and would like to share the solution with others in case this also happens to you.
I basically installed this Media package (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42503) and after that the auto-rotate check, button and functions works properly.
Hope this can also helps others.

IPhone 6 plus - screen not rotating when waking up from sleep

I just got a 6 Plus and I'm having issues with the screen rotation. It seems to be reproducible and I have the view set to standard and I have tried a factory reset.
If I have the phone in portrait mode and put it to sleep. That mode seems to stick. As an example, I can hold my device in landscape mode and unlock it but the app will not automatically switch to landscape. It will stay stuck on portrait. I have to move the device to portrait and then back to landscape to get the correct orientation. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Also when it wakes up from sleep the screen flashes, don't think its supposed to do that.

Screen not rotating on new iPod Touch

Got a new ipod Touch 5th Gen and the screen doesn't rotate. Checked and the portrait view is not locked. Anything else I should do or check? Thanks.

What apps have you tried? Not all apps support screen rotation. Try Safari, that supports rotation.
If astill problem:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Can I horizontally flip an external screen (Not rotation)

I am currently working on my master-thesis. During the developement of my prototype I came upon a litlle problem…
I would like to "flip" my external screen. Is their any kind of tweak or possibility to do this?
I'm working on a Macbook Air and i'm working with an external screen.
Any sloution is welcome!
I have tried to download the program "Display Rotation Menu" but you can only rotate (90°, 180°, 270°) the external screen and I would like to flip it…

The only problem is, that I would like to flip my screen.
For example: If I can flip my screen it wouldn't be possible to read my text on my screen, because it's written in mirrorwriting. This means that the text that I am reading is written in reverse.
And for my master thesis I would like to have my screen in a "reverse" position, like the previous example.
Is there no tweak, program or solution that can help me?

That is strange. I guess you haven't locked screen rotation (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3805) Maybe you need to restart your phone.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

My screen is not rotating, I would like to know if it is because of the Ios7 update or if a sensor on the hardware got screwed, I called att and they don't want to do anything exept tell me to reset everything and I already called apple and didn't help

Hello, to everyone, I'm going to get straight to the point. I have an iPhone 5 and I got it on march, apple wont give me a new phone cause I broke the screen and I replaced it my self. There was nothing wrong with the screen I bought, but after I updated to ios7 I have been having loads of problems. My latest is that my screen wont rotate at all in any app or messages or pictures, you get the picture. I was wondering if there is maybe a sensor that could be broken that I can replace or if it is defenatly the software update. Apple told me to restore my phone to new and I did, but that is not working. When I reset it to new, it also comes with the new software update if you know what I mean. I can't get away from the dumb update. Anyway my mom's phone is working perfectly and she didn't get the ios 7 update. If anyone can help it would be apreciated. Maybe if it is the update we can all contact apple and yell at them^.^

Correct. When you did that, you voided all warranty/support, & forfeited the right to an out of warranty replacement.
There was nothing wrong with the screen I bought,
And, exactly, how do you know that? Since Apple DOES NOT sell iPhone parts, there is no official source for genuine parts. Thus, many on the market are counterfeit & produce nothing but problems.

Double tapping the home button won't unlock your screens orientation. Double tapp the home button and swipe the bottom row of apps that appear and swipe them to the right all the way until an icon appears on the left side. It should be either a mute icon, or orientation icon. Hopefully, since your screen is not rotating, it will be the screen lock. Touch the icon and that should solve your problem.

Double click the home button (square) and all the things you did are there.keep sliding the bar that will come up on the bottom to the left till it cant go anymore there should be a icon looking like this.press that and it should work
