Screen Protection

now that the protection products have been out for a little while, what is a good product to prevent the screen from scratching? basically, i don't care if there is a case covering the whole iPod's surface, i just care about keeping the screen as scratchless as possible. so, if you know of a good product that you have actually tried out for yourself, tell me about it. thanks

Hey guys, I've ordered my Agent 18 case 2 weeks ago and it still isn't here. I live on the USA East coast. How long did it take your cases to ship? I'm too scared to touch my 'pod without a case... ooooo I hate the Christmas rush... lol.

  • The only case and screen protection answer

The Belkin case is really good because the clip has all kinds of capabilities making it a stand too. And it comes with an adhesive mount for your car, etc... It's kind of bulky but oh well...
And for screen protection, SHIELDZONE.COM's Invisible shields are they ONLY way to go (for anything)
Go here and watch the videos, esp. the comparison video
    http://www.shieldzone.com/movie/index.html
These are simply THE BEST screen protectors you can buy. There is a reason AT&T stores and APPLE stores highly suggest Shieldzone.com

I also thought of getting a case to cover the back and pairing that up with the Apple Smart Cover
Why not get the Smart Case, a case and cover in one? And with a cover, you don't really need a screen protector. Well, at least I don't.

  • Is it okay to clean my ipad screen with alcohol when I have a screen protecter on?

So I was told by my family members to wipe my ipad with alcohol as my screen was dirty. I have also recently found that alcohol wrecks the screen. However, I did have a screen protecter at the time. Is this okay?? Is my screen wrecked/ will be wrecked?

You would need to ask the manufacturer of the screen protector that question. I would not use alcohol on my iPad even with a screen protector, though. A damp (and I do mean damp, not wet) clean cloth should suffice for any cleaning needs. If your screen protector has a substance on it that can't be removed with a damp clean cloth, I'd advise replacing the screen protector, or at least remove it from the iPad before you attempt to use any other cleaners on the protector.
    Regards.

  • IPhone 5 and 5C screen protections

Are the screen sizes of iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C same? I know that the dimensions slightly differ but the physical size is the same, so would an iPhone 5C screen protection fit perfectly on iPhone 5? Please help...

    Where did they come from?
    Check this list: https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
If they were not sold for use in that region, then you will not be able to use LTE (4G) there.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I have seen a lot of cases like your issue, and it's easy to solve.
First, open Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and repair permissions. Sometimes, a permission can be damaged and it makes that an application doesn't work properly.
If that doesn't work, open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, type ~/Library/Prefereces, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist" and restart

  • WT310 Screen protection and dock question

I own the WT310 with pen accessory and although i'm very satisfied with it i have two questions
1 - Is it possible to remove the Anti-glare screen protection, as i prefer to have a brighten display and it seems to be just a thin removable layer, will it lead to a malfunction display ?
2 - Is it possible to use the Z10T-A keyboard dock on the WT310 model ?
    Many thanks

    > 1 - Is it possible to remove the Anti-glare screen protection, as i prefer to have a brighten display and it seems to be just a thin removable layer, will it lead to a malfunction display?
Yes, I think you can remove the protection foil and this should not affect the display functionality.
    > 2 - Is it possible to use the Z10T-A keyboard dock on the WT310 model?
The WT310 as well as Portege Z10t Ultrabook support the PA5105E-1PRP tablet dock.

  • Is a screen protecter really necessary on the ipad?

how many of u guys use a screen protecter ? and how many of u guys use the ipad as is thanks?

I was told by a genius at the Apple Store on 4/3 that a screen protector wasn't needed because the screen was virtually indestructible (and I suspect they did not have any for sale on Day 1, but it may have been due to the fact that I was wild-eyed and dripping wet after standing in line for 2+ hours that morning). So I thought I was covered by just using the black Apple iPad cover.
Unfortunately, I decided to clean off the fingerprints from my iPad yesterday and was greeted by a relatively deep scratch, about .25 inches long (fortunately it is near the middle left edge of the screen and not too visible). I have no idea how it got there.
So ... I am in the market for a screen protector now. I purchased an Invisible Shield for 25 clams at Best Buy, but am looking to repair the scratch before I put my shields up.

  • I cannot get old screen protected off my ipad

I am having a problem removing an old screen protector off my Ipad. Have tried tape, etc. Ca anyone offer any suggestions?

I've never encountered a problem removing a screen protector from an iDevice. While I think that reapplying it after removing it would be even more difficult, you shouldn't have any trouble removing it unless there is some kind of adhesive. Did you apply an adhesive before installing the screen protective? Did the product include some form of adhesive on it that activated when you installed it?
Need some more info about your problem...

It works as a screen protecter even though it is only a method for protecting it during shipment, but I don't use it as it takes away from the sleek look of the touch. They make other screen protecters that look a little bit nicer if you are worried about damaging it.

  • The best screen protection

What would you all recommend for screen protection which will not distort the image, will not fall off, and does not use glue. I need to cover both a 4g and a 5g. Any suggestions. PLease respond with the brand you are using and why you like it.

I have a leather one that's pretty good. I went digging in my trash looking for the box or whatever but couldn't find it. All i know is that it covers the screen well will clear plastic, and the click wheel(its still easy to spin). The brand name is NE NeuElements. It also has a silky back, so it sorta cleans the silver metal on the back of your ipod.

  • Best screen protecter for iPod touch 5th generation?

What is the best screen protecter for the iPod Touch 5th generation?

Pretty much any of them made for an iPod 5 will protect the screen from scratches, it's more personal preference. I personally use a Survivor case by Griffin. It's a little bulky but it offers protection for the entire iPod not just the screen. The rubberized back and sides protect against drops and falls, (cracked screens) and the port covers keep muck and moisture out of the charging and headphone ports. I have beat the snot out of it and so far so good. Just note some cases are waterproof like the Survivor  (will keep most water off your iPod, spills, rain, snow) and some are watertight like Lifeproof Fre (drop it in the toilet-- happens more than you'd think-- or go swimming with it and it's still dry provided the seals are working). Check around, see what works for you. Hope this helps, Good luck.

  • XPERIA Z2 SCREEN PROTECTION

HI I RECENTLY PURCHASED XPERIA Z2, I JUST WANNA CONFIRM THAT, IS ANY  BUILT-IN SCREEN PROTECTOR IS ALSO HAVE MY PHONE LIKE CORNING GORILLA GLASS OR ITS HAS NONE SCREEN PROTECTION??

Hi, a front screen protector comes with the box if purchased new....not sure if this is in every country/region......i would also advise to fit a rear screen protector also. many companys offer packs of front/rear ones.
Even if your Z2 is placed in a case from 1st day it is possible for dust/grit to get between the case & the rear screen to cause minor marks.....had this happen on my Z1 no matter how careful i was.
So for the sake of a few pounds better to be safer than sorry.....
    Cheers

  • The 23¢ iPod Screen protection

I've been seeing a whole lot of hubbub in the news about people complaining their nano screens scratch very easily. I've been through a few cases myself, and eventually got sick of the extra bulk around my iPod. It didn't take me too long to develop better habits about carrying mine around, so that I wouldn't need the cases against impacts and scratches.
Then I thought about that screen. I knew I didn't want to take chances with it getting big scratches on it. So I came up with this idea.
You can buy screen protectors for PDA's and such, but they're ungodly expensive. Then I remembered that you can get vinyl at our local sewing supplies store, Joanne's. It comes in varying thickness, I chose the smallest since it was the most I thought I would need, and you can buy it off the 5'-wide roll by the 1/8 of a yard. With tax, the material ended up being around 23¢, less than a quarter!
It's easily cut to size with an exacto knife or a large pair of scissors, just be sure to make it around a millimeter larger than the screen. To put it on and have it adhere a bit, swab a little rubbing alcohol on the screen with a q-tip, then carefully place the vinyl on. Pushing down on the vinyl on the center, and then pulling out (without moving it) to get any air bubble out seems to form a sort of seal that makes it hold down to the screen, as if under tension.
If you don't ram the iPod into your pocket, it stays on for many many months. You get dozens of replacements for it from the piece your purchased (so the actual price is probably less than 1¢!) and it works amazingly well. You may not be able to shove your iPod nano into the change pocket of your jeans anymore, especially for those who wear their pants a little tight, but just dropping it in your front pocket has worked fine for me these last couple of years.
I will say that leaving you iPod in the sun in the car may make this screen protection shrink and peel off a bit, but you shouldn't be doing that to you iPod anyway, right? Hope this helps some people.

Sorry it's taken so long. I haven't had the time to upload some pics until just now.
Here's a shot where I've peeled up a corner of the vinyl so you can see it:
    Screen Pic 1
It may look a bit dirty, but that's just because I haven't replaced the vinyl in about 4 months now, and I've grown accustomed to not having to be careful about the screen any more.
Here's a shot of the vinyl stock I've got:
    Screen Pic 2
It's reeeaaally thin, so please understand if it's hard to see.
If those links aren't working, let me know and I'll try and work around them.

  • My iphone 4 has become extremely sensitive i cant talk on the phone without putting calls on hold, mute or hanging up!! when i'm in a call it's like the screen has become super sensitive to touch! I tried putting a screen protecter but didnt work pls help

My iphone 4 has become extremely sensitive i cant talk on the phone without putting calls on hold, mute or hanging up!! when i'm in a call it's like the screen has become super sensitive to touch! I tried putting on a screen protecter but this didnt work please help?

While on a call, the iPhone display should go black when lifted to your ear. Is this not happening or only happening intermittently?
Have you tried making calls without your silicone case on? Does this make any difference?
You could try updating or restoring the software to try to rule that out as a cause. If the issue remains after restoring then the issue is probably hardware related and may need to be serviced.
