Screen Protector from **** (How to remove it?)

Hello. I have used more-thing crystal screen protector, that came with More-Thing Para Collection (clear) Case. One the next day i decide to remove it, but all edges of Screen Protector was gone, even cutout for the front camera is gone. I've tried to use scotch, needle and other things to remove Screen Protector, but nothing works. Could you give me an advice, how to remove more-thing crystal screen protector?

Are you even sure the screen protector is still on it? Sounds like it isn't from your description.

  • Has anyone removed the screen protector from Otterbox?

I have the Otterbox on top of Apple's anti-glare screen protector as suggested in this forum. I'm having way too much trouble getting a response out of buttons on the edge of the screen or in the corners. I touch and touch, even press hard but no response. Even getting the phone to snap a picture is near impossible. I have no problems when I remove the Otterbox case, so I know it isn't a screen issue. I love the feel and protection afforded by the Otterbox case and would like to use it. Has anyone removed the screen protector from their case, and if you have, can you comment on the subsequent performance of it? Of note, I use the Otterbox case because I have young kids who use the phone - we don't have a landline. In other words, it's not dust protection I'm looking for, but impact protection. I hate to tear up a $50 case if it won't function anymore.

I removed the screen protector that was part of the Otterbox case and it now works much better. Still have the Power Support anti-glare screen protector on it. Also removed the small cover over the camera lense and now my pictures are more clear. Finally, I removed the covers over the speakers and I can hear the speakerphone again. These mods made the case an A+ for me. A little less protection but much better functionality.

  • Clear screen protector application - air bubble removal

I have bought many clear screen protectors and often have had issues trying to get the air bubbles out from the screen protectors. Sometimes, dust is underneath the protect and when I try to clean it out using the cloth included with the protector, it gets even more dust and then the protector becomes useless. Is there any recommendations on how to best avoid getting air bubbles underneath your screen protector?

I just received and installed the Incipio Feather case on my iPhone 4. I had it on my 3G and liked it as it is a very slim, unobtrusive case and is like a hard plastic core with a matte, slightly rubbery, velvety surface. I had installed Zagg first, but was displeased with the orange peel surface on the front. I left the Zagg on the back as I do feel it will offer good protection from the back and removed it from the front. The case fit with no problems. The incipio feather comes with 2 hard clear screen protectors with a hole for the front camera, and the front protectors are MUCH better than having the rubbery, lumpy Zagg on the front screen and don't require any liquid to apply. I was hoping I would get one crystal screen protector and one matte protector as I did when I used Power Support screens in the past, but they are both clear. The surface is smooth and nice. I don't have any loss of signal now when I hold the phone in my palm cupping the lower left side. I probably slightly prefer the matte power support screen as it is easier to keep clean, but power support is not shipping yet. If I had to do it over again I would skip the Zagg and just get the incipio. Just my 2 cents and thought I'd share my experience.

  • How necessary are screen protectors for iPad?

I just got a new iPad and protected it by putting it in an Apple smart case. I'm debating installing a screen protector. How necessary are they? How easily does the iPad screen scratch? Is the smart case sufficient protection?

It all depends on how you use yoru device. Do you have kids that will play with it with grubby fingers? Use it outside? Use it in places where it can get scratched or nicked? then you might want one.
I put one on mine just because it's a 500 dollar device and I want to protect it and keep it in good shape. Others swear that the last thing they need is a screen protector.
All comes down to personal preference.
I would say, personally, the smart case may not be the most protective out there. But ultimately it comes down to you, how and where you use it.

  • Are there any cons to using a screen protector?

Hi. I'm going to be getting an Apple smart case for my new Ipad Mini today at Best Buy and wonder if I should also get a screen protector?. I've been using it without one for 5 days and like the feel of it. I know a protector would keep the screen pristine, however on my Iphone 4S it seems to diminish the display by slightly blurring it. I'm using my Mini mostly for Ibooks. The other concern I have is trusting whether BB will get it on the device right but I would not want to try myself (too worried I would make a mistake!) Thanks for your guidance and loving my Mini. Missy

I was considering the same thing when I bought my iPad Air. I really enjoy using the iPad with no cover/case at all. The way Apple designed it. The cool aluminum and smooth glass. I understand you on those points. The same can be said for the iPhone. I have both a case and screen protector on my iPhone. I can remove the case, not the screen protector. Those aren't made to install and remove repeatedly.
I'd prefer not to use a screen protector because of how it blurs the screen but also because it affects the "feel" of the screen. Gone is the silky smooth feeling of the glass. I got a scratch on an iPhone screen once and use a screen protector now. I carry the iPhone with me 24/7 so it needs more protection.
My iPad Air is a different story. I also bought it at BestBuy and use it for iBooks quite a bit too! I use the new iPad Air SmartCase to protect it but haven't installed a screen protector. I haven't installed one because the screen is only vulnerable while I'm using it and is protected by the case while I carry it. I like how the display looks and feels without the screen protector on.
The good news is, if you decide to install a screen protector, you can easily remove it if you change your mind. I hope this helps...

  • Screen Protector for iPad

So I just got an iPad and got a screen protector from Wal-Mart and the thing was horrible.
I was wondering what the best screen protector is, and if they are really needed? I have a Tarus hard case for it, and use the stylus pen for touching the screen.
Any suggestions would be great thanks

I tried a couple of different ones and found the one from Power Support interfered the least with viewing the screen (none of them had an adverse effect on touching the screen). But I will say that I noticed that with any screen protector on it the ipad got noticeably warmer than it did when it didn't have one, so I decided that possibly they were interfering with heat dissipation and removed it.
I certainly didn't find it necessary to 'protect' the screen while the ipad was in the apple case, but was looking for a way to cut glare. None of them were good enough at that to be worth leaving one on.

  • Any tips on applying the supplied screen protector

On youtube, I've seen rollers (don't have one), lining up from the top, lining up from the side edge.Positioning with the back not peeled and then taping one side so it hinges. I suppose the first question, is it worth using the supplied one, and will it later peel off without taking the ASF with it! - that's really the key with protectors, they are sacrificial.

    Hi Mattz,
    Welcome to the community,
The removal of a simple Screen protector would not likely remove the ASF, as the ASF is essentially apart of the screen, so removing this is very very hard.

  • Are these cheap-o screen protectors any good?

I found a few screen protectors for under $4 (including shipping) but it makes me skeptical since most name brands cost over $14.
    Example:
    http://bensbargains.net/deal/71439/
    http://dealnews.com/Apple-i-Phone-3-G-Screen-Protector-for-2-free-shipping/24065 6.html
Anyone used any of those before? How were they?

I've used several cheap screen protectors in the past on older cellphones and they have worked well. They aren't as great as they claim to be, like scratch proof etc, but it did protect the screen. For instance i had a Sony Ericsoon k790a and i bought several screen protectors from ebay. THey were about $2-$4 each. In 1 year, the film was entirely scratched up, to the point where it got annoying to look at my lcd. I took it off, and the screen was still in pristine condition. Thats my experience with them, although i would prefer it to not have scratched so easily. The ones you are thinking of getting for the iphone are not much different than the ones i got for my SE. As long as you dont take a nail across the screen you should be well protected.
For the iphone, i went with what was at the store, the crystal screen protector. This is my first iphone and i wasnt used to the film and i tried to make it perfect, ruining both films in the end. I shelled out another $14 for a new pack, and got it right. Expensive, but we'll see how worth it is in the end.

  • Screen Protector Recommendation

    Hello everyone,
I at one time considered a tempered glass screen protector for my Z1 but I was scared away by the possibility of the ASF coming up with the glass screen protector if I ever removed it. I am considering now a plastic screen protector for the front and back. I would rather not have to install a screen protector but the ASF has been scratching too easily with me no matter how careful I am. Does anyone have a recommendation as to a good quality plastic screen protector set for the front and back of the Z1?

    Hi,
I would recommend Copter Screenprotector. I've been using it for my devices and i'm satisfied with it.

  • Screen protectors interfering with tapping commands?

I have trouble using one of my apps as often, no matter how hard or soft or fast or slow I tap the operating buttons, they don't respond.  other times they work perfectly.  Could this be due to me having one of those cheap plastic film screen protectors?  deborah158

Have you tried this particular app without the screen protector? How do other apps interact with your screen protector on?
If it's just within one app, then I would say it's a poorly written app. If it works when the screen protector is removed, then there's your answer.

  • Are there any screen protectors that feel as smooth/slippery as the iPad Mini screen?

I'm looking for a screen protector that feels as smooth/slippery as the normal iPad Mini screen. The screen feels really nice, especially for games, I'd like to keep it as is but I'm afraid of getting it scratched. This is my first Apple device so I apologize if this has been asked before. Thanks!

  • Review - Exim screen protector

Having read the reviews of the screen scratching issue, when my new nano arrived in the post, I ordered an exim screen protector from ebay ($16.00 AUD - do a search for exim). And being a happy nano owner, I thought I'd post a review.
The protector consists of 3 clear vinyl sheets, cut to fit the front, back and scroll wheel of the nano, so essentially the whole thing is covered. The vinyl sheets are a bit stiffer/harder/inflexible than what I expected, they're much like a very thin hard plastic sheet.
Application was a little bit fiddley, but overall fairly easy, provided you make sure no dust gets in contact with the adhesive side of the screen protector. I got 1 small bubble on the back, from a dust speck, but I removed and reapplied the back to remove the bit of dust.
Overall, you can't tell there is a screen protector on your nano. It looks and feels just like there is nothing there. The scroll wheel is just as responsive, and the screen is very clear and bright. The adhesive is also fairly strong, so there's no chance of the protector slipping off. The protector also appears to be made of a very hard material, so there's no chance of scratching.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to hide their nano behind a case. This thing looks great and will do the job.
THe only drawback is that it is fiddly to apply, but once its on, everythings fine. Another drawback is that it picks up fingerprints just as easily as the original nano surface. Also, 16 bucks for a bit of plastic is a bit much. But hey it works, right?
    Hope this helps guys.
    Marcus

    Hi,
You. I am using them and they are good as far as I can see. The application is a bit tricky. Make sure you get all the dust off the iPod first. If you do get dust under the film just wrap a piece of regular scotch tape around your finger and lift the film up. Remove the dust with the tape and you are good to go.
I put mine into a nano tube after the Exim film and it's nice and scratch free.
This film is not the same as any PDA film I have used. The sides are not covered.

  • Screen Protector Reccomendations

    Hi,
I plan on buying an iPad and am looking for a few recommendations for simple clear screen protector.
I am going to be buying either the Switcheasy Nude or the Incipio Feather case that both come with clear screen protectors but if there are any with great recommendations that are sold separately i will most likely get one.
I DO NOT want one with that spray on applicator stuff, id ideally like one of the static ones similar to the iphone ones that used to be sold in apple stores.
    Thanks

I ordered a matte screen protector from Clarivue directly from their website. Application is similar to Power Support with protective removable plastic sheets on the front and back of the protector, which makes it more rigid and therefore easier to apply. I am very happy with this protector since it dramatically reduces glare and fingerprints, and does not affect sensitivity of the touch screen. It does slightly reduce screen clarity, but I got used to it after about a week.
Although i really like the Invisible Shield on my iPod Touch, the Clarivue and Power Support protectors are much easier to apply on the large iPad screen and the matte versions cut down on more glare and fingerprints.

  • Ipad 2 screen protector recommended ?

Hi, just two days back I bought a capdase screen protection for around $40 now the problem happened when I was putting it on the screen, after putting it on everything was fine but when I removed the no 2 sticker on top to expose the top part of the protector I accidently grabbed the whole protector itself and kept on  the table with sticky part face down, it went so bad with all the dust sticking to it I had to throw it away and my 40 bucks wasted... my question now:
how good is iPad 2 without a screen protector, and how much apple charges just in case a few months down the line I go to them with a few scratches to replace my glass ? or is it worth it spend another 40 $ on another screen protector to try ? What is apple recommendations on using one ?
    Thanks a lot ...

Apple says you don't need a screen protector.. thats why they dont sell them in stores anymore.
I say, if you want one, get one.
Personally, i always have one on my screens. A guy i work with, dropped his iPhone 2 weeks ago... HUGE scratch on the screen. not really noticeable when the iPhone is on, but off... you can see it.
When i got my new iPad 2, i bought a 2 pack on cheap generic iPad 2 screens. for me and my mother. they went on easy, mine has 2 dust spots that got under the screen... bugs me. my mother's is perfect.
the generic ones i bought you cant tell they are on, but they collect fingerprints like mad..
I like the Wrapsol and Power support screens for my iPhone. I just bought a Power support for myself to replace the Zag Invisible shield, first time buying one of the wet ones. It's a good shield, but had a rubbery texture to it. i had problems using the iPhone in the cold, or if my hands were cold or a little wet. (like after washing hands til the oils built up on your fingers again)
I have a wrapsol on my mothers iPhone 4, her corner is coming up now (her case did it) other than that the thing is clear and doesn't show fingerprints much.
now that the iPad 2 has been out long enough for 3rd parties to make decent shields, i may grab a power support one. I got another cheapy with my Enki case last week... was tempted to replace the one on my iPad 2 now (cause of the dust spots bug me)
Everyone says the Power support crystal clear skins are the best, so far i'd have to agree on the iPhone 4. easy to put on and they come with a film to grab dust off the screen before the actual screen goes down.
I know how you feel... I did the same thing on my first iPhone 3G screen. I haven't messed up a iPad screen yet..
