Screen protectors / shields are safe on iPhone 4

I read in the manual not to use any types of chemical, cleaners, alcohol, etc to clean the iPhone 4. Which triggered the question...
Will it be ok to put any types of screen protectors or invisible shield on it. I've just got my power support films and put it on both sides but wondering if it would harm the glass as it has oleophobic coating on it. Thanks in advance for your help.

no i have not heard about that, but yea the oleophopic will wear off (wear and tare) if you use it for a very long period time, but I have not heard any one complain about the screen protectors wearing down the oleophopic. I use bodyguardz and have not any problems with my screen whatsoeverl.

  • Screen protector for the back of iPhone 4?

I bought a screen protector for my iPhone 4 for obvious safety reasons. I also seen screen protectors for the back of the phone as well. Since it is glass also I was wondering if it is practical to shell out the money for a screen cover for the back also or if anyone has had any problems without one.

Well, I didn't mess with trying to figure out if I could scratch it. I just put on a front, back, and sides cover from best skins ever. Here is the website http://www.bestskinsever.com/
    Well worth the money.

  • Should i use screen protector on my iphone 6 plus or not?????

should i use screen protector or not for my iphone 6 plus or not????

On most of my iPhone's past, I didn't use one.  But I do have one on my iPhone 6.  There's more glass and since they now make screen protectors out of tempered glass with oleophobic coating, it seemed a good idea to protect the larger screen area.  6 Plus is even larger, with more glass.
So ask yourself this.  Which would you be more upset about seeing a scratch on?  The iPhone screen itself, or a simple not very expensive, replaceable screen protector?

  • Conformal screen protector on Iphone 6

Just got my iPhone 6.  Nice looking phone.
I have Always put a screen protector and case on my iPhones.  So I had some ready for this phone.
But then I saw an issue.  The screen is a "conformal" screen.  Any screen protector will only fit the flat part of the screen!!  I put mine and it it looks like crap.  Where with previous phones you mostly could not even tell that there is a protector on the screen.  Mine now looks like a have a transparent material sitting on a portion of the screen.
Does anyone know if anyone is making a conformal screen protector.  Maybe that is in the too hard category??

I Have not seen one, but I took an iPad screen protector that I had and cut it out to fit on the screen. Looks great. These companies are being ******** the screen meets the sides, but the glass is not "curved" guess I'll have to keep doing that until they figure out people don't want their iPhones to only be half covered!

    Yes.
They wouldn't market them specifically for iPhones if they diod not work with iPhones.

  • Plastic screen protector necessary?

Is the plastic screen protector 100% necessary on the iPhone screen? I have one on but it has spots all over it when there is a glare from light. I want to keep my screen safe, but I don't want to have a dirty screen. What are some good options? Thanks!

I have a non glare screen that I like-However I offer the following true story. While at an Apple retail store I asked an employee "did I really need a glass protector". His response: He asked if I had a set of car keys, I did and he asked if he could use them. He then grabbed a new i-phone off the counter and proceeded to scrape the pointed end of the keys repeatedly against the unprotected i-phone screen. He then calmly wiped the screen with a polish cloth and invited me to examine it for scratches. Honestly I could not find a scratch and was surprised. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AS AN INVITATION TO TRY THIS ON YOUR I-PHONE OR ANY I-PHONE. I would however suggest that anything other than a non-glare cover MAY be a waste of money.

  • What screen protector do you use?  Do you like it?  Looking for a clear one

I recently purchased an iphone 4, and I'd like a screen protector for it. I have a tendency to accidently put my phone in pockets filled with change, golf tees, keys, and all sorts of scratchy objects, and I'd rather not risk it.
The choices seem pretty limited actually.
AT&T sells a clear one for ~$10. How is it?
Top rated one on Amazon is from Splash. Anyone use that one?
Invisibleshield has just horrific ratings. Out of 70 purchases, 47 have been 1 star/5
    I'm interested in:
    Clear
    Inexpensive
Doesn't cover the front facing camera
    Any recommendations?
PS: (I know this question has been asked before, but not since august, and inventories have changed since then)

What you say can be true about the zagg invisible shield, but do you have the orange peel effect? Many people seems to have problem with this, and I find my self annoying with the orange peel effect. Sure, it may stay clear but you have to keep wiping them as they tend to get greasy over time. I've used bodyguards screen protectors (same exact material used by zagg, and is also a wet type, but they now have dry applications as well). And I did not like the fact that once they were fully dried, sure it stays clear, but once you touch your face with it, and use it over time, surely it will get grease on it and you will have to clean it out.
I highly recommend powersupport screen protectors, they are really good and good quality. Right now i'm using my first set of HD anti-glare screen protoctors and I have installed it so well that I don't need to take it off. Of course if you happen to get some dust in it, all you need to do is use a tape and stick it on one corner to lift the screen protector and use another set of tape, roll it (sticky side out), and run along the screens and the screen protector where the dust is sticking and surely it removes the dust.

  • IPad plastic screen protector

Has anyone used this and found it worthwhile?  Is it worth the $15 they charge?  (Or are the $2-knockoffs online good enough?)

I have never used either of my iPads without a screen protector of some type. On myniPad one - I used the ZAGG Invisible Shield - $29,95 + tax as I recall. On my new iPad, I use an Otterbox Defender case with a built in screen protector.
To me - it is an investment worth making. But that's just my take. Many users don't utilize screen protectors and are very happy going that route,
Bot the ZAGG protector and the Ottebrbox have kept my iPad screens in mint condition. Not a scratch on either screen. However, only you can decide what is best for your needs.

  • Who is NOT using a screen protector?

I would like to hear from people not using any screen protector. Does your screen scratch up at all with normal use? I'd rather not apply one if I don't have to. I tried the one that came with my iSkin revo2 (the best skin case out there!), but I don't like it on there. The screen doesn't look as good as it does bare.

I never used a screen protector on my 1st generation iphone and never had any issues.
On my new 3g iphone - i did put on the invisible shield on the front and back. I didn't install it on the front to protect against scratches though - I installed it on the front as the invisible shield seems to GREATLY reduce the amount of finger smudges and smears - it made a huge difference in the amount of greasy fingers smears - works like magic, and it is also so clear that I really don't notice it on there.
I also put it on the back to keep the white plastic from getting scratched - it also has a slightly sticky feel to it - just the right amount which I like.
Best Buy sells the front side of the invisible shield for $15 - alot of money for sure but it's awesome. Check this vid on youtube - pretty darn strong

  • Ipod 5 cases/screen protectors?

    Hey,
Are there any cases or screen protectors available yet? I'm more interested in a screen protector at this point I hate finger prints. I saw Zagg screen protectors (front only) for the iPhone 5 at best buy, they look like they may fit the touch 5. Isn't the front the exact same size as the phone? I would love a clear case because what's the point of having a blue iPod if you can't see the back. lol. Anyone know of anything out there?

  • Screen Protector from **** (How to remove it?)

Hello. I have used more-thing crystal screen protector, that came with More-Thing Para Collection (clear) Case. One the next day i decide to remove it, but all edges of Screen Protector was gone, even cutout for the front camera is gone. I've tried to use scotch, needle and other things to remove Screen Protector, but nothing works. Could you give me an advice, how to remove more-thing crystal screen protector?

Are you even sure the screen protector is still on it? Sounds like it isn't from your description.

  • Same screen protector as ipad 2

Was wondering if i can use screen protector used for iPad 2 on the New iPad? Are the protector cut uot an exact match?

The screen sizes of the current and new iPad are the same - as to whether the screen protector's are cut to an exact match, then it might depend upon which one that you decide to buy.

  • Anti-Glare Screen Protectors

Do you all know of any anti-glare screen protectors that are less expensive than the Power Support screen protectors? I hate having to pay $15 for them. I know there are some from Case Mate but i have heard bad things about them.

Actually, you should be able to get them right now from this place. Just enter the model and they'll make them up.

I've bought from them several times for various cell phones and my new Blackberry. They sell them in sets of 3 for about $6.50 for the set. You can also look on ebay for these things.
Good luck and if anybody orders from here, please post so others will know the results.
I'm having trouble looking for them on ebay. I don't what to search for. I kept typing in anti-glare protectors for mp3 players, but there no results.

  • Is it safe to not have a screen protector on my iPhone 4?

I want to know if there will be any real damage if there isn't.

I have a 3G with no screen protector.  The screen looks as good as new 3 years later.  I don't keep my phone in my pocket along with my keys and change. I used to carry it in a pocket by itself, though.
