Screen Recording, Web page scroll to bottom is jerky

No matter how much I try to get the scroll to be smooth while I move down to the bottom of our organization's web pages the Captivate screen recording is jerky. I also can't change the duration of the slides. I believe I have tried all option (FMR, Automatic, Panning, No Panning, Automatic Panning, Window, Full Screen, Application Region, Applicaiton Window).
Have watched webinars by Pooja (http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2012/08/screen-capture-enhancements-in-adobe-captivate-6. html#more-5367) and Allen P. Each shows these super cool "zooms" intto a section of the screen and then zoom out to see the whole screen. Nowhere can I find the how-to for that nifty trick. I have watched Adobe TV and the man in the video demonstration is close to reading the help file verbatim. Other videos say wonderful things like, "If you check the FMR option Captivate will provide a full motion recording." Duh. Question is, how to use FMR vs. Full Motion vs. Manual.
In short, I want to make screen demos like the evangelists do. Where do I learn how to do that?

Michael, I suspect the evangelists aren't using Captivate for their demos. I believe they are likely using Presenter Video Creator. Presenter is an add in for PowerPoint. I'm not sure, but it's likely that the Presenter Video Creator only ships with one of the suites. You might check to see if you have it installed. For me, on Windows 7 64 bit it's found in this location:
"D:\Program Files\Adobe\TCS34\Adobe Presenter Video Creator 8.0 x64\Adobe-Pr-VC.exe"
Note that I've deviated from the normal installation path. But it should give you an idea of where to look to find it.
If you have Windows 7, the way I always launch it is by clicking the Start button and just typing Presenter Video into that box above the Start button.

Safari web page scrolling

For some strange reason today my Safari browser keeps scrolling to the bottom of the web page by itself every once in a while. Im not sure whats causing this or how it can be fixed? Any solutions?

I may have possibly found the cause of the automatic web page scrolling, it could be due to having a Wacom tablet connected to the USB port on the right side of my laptop. When I disconnected the USB cable the auto scrolling stopped. Im wondering if having a USB mouse / tablet plugged in causes the problem and why would it? Note: Nothing is touching the tablet when the scrolling happens, my palms are on the keyboard palm area.

I have p2-1310 8.1 I can not control web page scrolling It doesn't stop

I can't control the scrolling on web pages. IE 11 HP p2--1310 Windows 8.1. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I understand that you are having issue with scrolling in Internet Explorer. Is this just with Internet Explorer? As there are very few drivers available for your computer from HP and none of them relate to the mouse I am going to suggest that you follow the steps I have set out for you below:
Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "Device Manager"
Step 2. Click on Device Manager
Step 3. Click on Mice and other pointing devices
Step 4. Right-click on your mouse and select Uninstall
***NOTE: DO NOT DELETE THE DRIVER!!!
Step 5. Restart your computer
If the issue persists after this I would recommend that you contact Microsoft concerning Internet Explorer 11 at Microsoft Support.

Restore iphone home screen icons web page

I have too many webpages saved on home screen, wondering if they are going to be lost when restore from a backup. Is there anyway to save the urls in a single place?

The website your are visiting must have a webclip icon stored on their server... You can try contacting them to see if they will add one... Here is what they need to do:
To specify a bookmark icon for all pages of a web site, place a PNG image named "apple-touch-icon.png" at the root directory of your web server - similar to the "favicon.ico" for site icons.
To override the site bookmark icon on a specific web page, insert a <link> element similar to <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/customIcon.png"/> within the <head> element of the page.
The bookmark icon dimensions should be 57x57 pixels. If the icon is a different size it will be scaled and cropped to fit.

Very slow web page scroll on second monitor

I have two monitors. When I move firefox window to the second montior - scrolling of web pages is very slow. Sometimes it freeze computer (I can not move the mouse cursor).
I was checked other applications like MS Word, Chrome.
This problem is only firefox problem.
This problem apears when the part of firefox window is showing on the second monitor (even 50 pixels)

I have 3 monitors, and had this problem on the two that weren't the primary. Turning off "use hardware acceleration" worked, *BUT* only after I restarted Firefox. Thanks to those who found this workaround!

Page scrolls to bottom

Have a HP Pavilion dv7 when on a web site the page goes to bottom an have hard timegetting back to top. Have restored to original and still does this. Any suggestions. Thankyou in adfvance. Also cursor freezes up and have to hit ctrl to unfreeze

Apple doesn't call its portable machines 'notebooks' instead of 'laptops' for nothing - using a MacBook Pro in your lap can cause some burns on your skin, poor ventilation, etc. So use it on a hard flat surface - not your lap, pillows, bedclothes, etc.
As for burning a hole in your screen, you'll have to revisit the Apple Store and see how much they would charge for a new screen. It's likely to be a bit expensive.
And if you've Safari set to re-open tabs when you restart, you can disable this feature -> Safari-Preferences-General.

Why are my web pages scrolling half way down by themselves while I'm using my apple magic mouse. And no, it's not the mouse, apple replaced it

Only in Firefox when I'm at a site the page will scroll down about half way and stop at by itself which is annoying when I am filling out a form or looking for something. I use to have a problem when I was scrolling and the page would freeze and I would have to go to the scroll bar and manually move the page up and down to active the scroll on my mouse and yes this is a new mouse replaced by Apple.

As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

How to Open an Oracle Apps Screen from a web page

Hi,
We have requirement for Opening an Oracle Application screen (say sales order form) directly from a web page.
I could get the URL of the required screen, but the URL contains an ICX_TICKET number, which is generated dynamically by Oracle Apps. So I can't use a static URL for this.
Do you know how I can use or generate an ICX_TICKET in runtime? My user will have an active Oracle Application screen opened along with web page. He want to navigate to Oracle Apps screen from Web page. Hopes this makes the requirement more clear.

I have identified a function to generate ICX_ticket. By appending this ticket, I am able to open the Oracle Apps screen. Now, is there in implication on the security side, if I go ahead this way?

Can't update mysql records from a web page

Hi everybody,
I am beginning with Dreamweaver CS5.
I followed a video tutorial on how to visually design a data entry/update web page for a mysql database using server behaviors.
My problem is that I was able to insert records and see inserted records but when I try to update a record it doesn't work.
I don't get any error message, it just redirects me to the listing page as it's supposed to but doesn't take into account the changes I made.

Is it possible to screen scrap the contents of mainframe Terminal emulator.
I have a 3270 Terminal emulator. What is the best way to read the content of this terminal emulator.
I'm aware that we can screen scrape static or dynamic web pages. But, is it possible to screen a
terminal emulator. I have no clue reg this. Plz help.

This Bluezone uses an ActiveX control or Java applet to download a Win32 emulation application.
Given this scenario, plz let me know how do I screen scrap the contents of this terminal emulator and pass the screen scraped content to another java program.
Plz help so that I go in the right direction.
(For screen scraping web pages: I was using JTidy and XQuery. But, for this terminal emulator, how do i read the request url. I'm a beginner, so excuse me if I'm completely wrong with this approach).

Resize of web pages

I'm using dreamweaver with coldfusion, herewith i've buildt
the web.
Since i do have a laptop with a wide screen, the web pages
are not
resized in Height automatically to the screen.
How can i have this problem solved since more users do
expering this problem.

Everyone's browser is likely set at a different size. Your
best option is to
use a fluid layout, giving the width of page elements in
percentages.
The height is tpyically determined by the content and
variabls such as
browser viewport size, font size, etc.

Since latest upgrade I cannot "print" or show "print preview" from any web page. This is true of both of my printers and I have followed directions on plug-ins and have reinstalled Firefox etc. I am about ready to switch to Internet Explorer! w

Since upgrading Firefox, it doesn't respond when I click on print and/or print preview while displaying web pages.. No error message, just no response. I tried using both my printers..a HP and a Canon and get no results with either. I have no problem printing from any other place (including "Print" instructions within web pages, usually). I have recently upgraded my desktop (Dell Vostro 220) to Windows 7 and it went smoothly. The Firefox upgrade came at about the same time, so I don't know if Windows 7 is part of the problem. I need be able to print from the screen of web pages!

Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Firefox prints incorrectly]]? There is some good troubleshooting information in there. I would suggest that you try resetting your print settings.

Web page content on 11.6 Air often displays incorrectly.

I love my Macbook Air 11.6 for its quality size and weight but web browsing is a pain. I would love to read an open discussion on this. It seems to be that because the screen ratio is unusual i.e. very 'wide screen', many web pages are not written so that they display correctly. One has to always zoom in at least twice, but I could live with that if the content all displayed correctly, but it often doesn't. Try going to the BBC.co.uk. First page is ok but click on Wimbledon live and the links to live games are a mess. Try KLM.com - one has to zoom until it goes off the right hand side before the booking fields display correctly. Same thing for Cricinfo.com.
Today, I see that Chrome does it better but shouldn't Safari (my preference because of how it handles Evernote) be the KIng on Macs? Will this ever be rezolved? In Apple stores the genius says that it is down to the coding done by the web site writers and so I fear that they are not going to all re-write their code to please just one weird screen aspect ratio.
My best solution would be to sell this and get a 13.3, no? Pity but seems the only way... JJ

Actually, 1366x768 is a very common resolution (and has been for quite a few years). It really is up to the website coding and the browser to deal properly with different resolutions. You should be able to even select an actual odd resolution manually and have the page display correctly. But, with respect to the resolution of your Air, it is basically an industry standard and should not be the cause of any problems with the way a site displays.

How to automatically size web pages for 27 inch i-mac

I am trying to get my new 27 inch I mac to size web pages to be the same size as screen. Currently, only the middle section of screen does web pages appear.

Look in the View menu for Safari. The last item in that menu should be "Enter Full Screen", keyboard shortcut Command-Control-F. Give that a try.
