    what is the price of new screen for mac air 11'' in singapore, coz mine is broken, the lcd crashd, whatever

    You may have to check local official authorized Apple service providers for a price or estimate on the cost of repair parts and labor; there may be other companies than those officially listed in the locator page here http://www.apple.com/sg/service/ in the Singapore area, that can do the job. Be wary of those not Authorized or Certified, since these may not use the correct parts or may not be properly trained in the repair procedure.
    In the case of a computer still under offiical original or extended Apple warranty, when accidental damages cause need for a repair, be sure to get the damage fixed in an authorized repair facility so as to keep the remainder of the offiical warranty in effect. Unofficial repairs by unqualified persons can void the remainder of a factory warranty; while the damage may not be covered at all, the rest of the computer could retain coverage if it is repaired correctly using Apple trained and authorized service personnel and original equipment parts.
    So, be sure if you find a shop that can do a repair, that it won't make matters worse by performing inexact or  sub-par service; and if the computer no longer has an official warranty on the remainder of the unit (outside of the accidental damages not covered anyway) you may be able to find a good display, new or used, and have another service company replace the one in your MB/Air. Depending on what build year-model MB/Air 11" you have, the parts may vary; so be sure to research whoever can do this job, so it may be done correctly.
    There are independent authorized Apple repair agents with certified technicians who use correct parts, so maybe you can find one in your region; at least to initially research the costs involved in restoring the MB/Air.
    Not sure which model you have, but for something out of warranty or damaged in a way to no longer be covered, you may see what may be involved in doing a repair or parts swap, yourself; the following may be helpful in restoring this model.Or give you an idea, should it be too technical for a DIY fix.

    If I open a site that gices me an open to save a file to a word, excel type document or a pdf , everything works fine until I try to save the information to a PDF and again the screen goes black
    I have tried the safari help site but to no avail, does anyone have a solution to thid problem. (I do have the abode ofr mac program loaded)

    OK. If you believe that.
    When the disk is starting to die it can be bad for a moment and then be good for a while. If there was no problem while you were checking it of course it shows up good.
    I tell you those are the signs of a disk that is about to die.

  • Mac air screen not displaying correctly

    I have a Mac Air 13' screen. Recently I was using it and someone put a lemon head on the keyboard and slammed the screen down on it for no reason.
    The screen is now displaying a grey screen with a white vertical line down the middle. When I turn the computer off and then back on the screen is
    exactly the same. When I type I cannot see anything that I type. I have a two year warranty on my computer. I am just wanting to know if there is anytthing
    that I can do without sending it in. If there is not, who or what am I supposed to call to send in the computer to fix it. Also would Ribbit computers or another computer repair store, would they be able to fix my screen without me sending it in to Apple. Any information would be appreciative and very helpful! Thanks for reading!

  • Mac mini screen resolution not synced with monitor

    Hello! I have a Mac mini at home, equipped to an hp w2408h monitor via HDMI cable. Recently, I went to my friends' house with my Mac, plugging it in to their projector and playing Minecraft. However, I had to adjust the screen resolution, and once I got back and set everything up again, the monitor said I need to 'adjust screen resolution'. Is there any way to reset/sync/calibrate the resolution to the monitor, or do I have to go back and readjust the settings? Thanks! :3

    without more information, I assume you mean a blackout from sleep issue.
    Go to system preferences > energy settings > raise the "turn display off" setting up to as needed, say 5 mins. or 10 mins.
    AND ...
    unchecked the "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" in both the battery and power adapter tabs.
    test it and check back

    I have problems with office for mac  screen resolution, specially with excel ?

    For starters, make sure to Check for Updates on any of the Help menus, and make sure the product has all the latest patches. MS did come out with a patch addressing the display issues on Retina Macs. Latest patchlevel is 14.3.2.
    We are talking about Office:Mac 2011, right?

  • Here is how to enable full screen mode for AIR Mac Desktop Apps

    I just discovered that with a very simple native extension method, I can enable full screen mode for AIR Mac Desktop Applications.
    This gets you the full screen icon in the top right, and it works perfectly with no changes to my code. (Obviously only works on Lion and above, since this is a Lion feature)
    Enjoy.
    Here's the code:
        FREObject _EnableFullScreenMode(FREContext ctx, void* functionData, uint32_t argc, FREObject argv[])
            //We should be okay to do this, even on 10.6, according to this post:
            //http://www.cocoabuilder.com/archive/cocoa/311124-implementing-full-screen-for-10-7-but-app-should-also-run-on-10-6.html
            //We can't use [NSApp mainWindow] - didn't appear to work
            //This seems to though:
            NSArray * allWindows = [NSApp windows];
            if (allWindows.count > 0)
                NSWindow *mainWindow = [allWindows  objectAtIndex: 0];
                NSWindowCollectionBehavior behavior = [mainWindow collectionBehavior];
                behavior |= NSWindowCollectionBehaviorFullScreenPrimary;
                [mainWindow setCollectionBehavior:behavior];
            //TODO: Return a boolean instead depending on if we found the main window
            return NULL;

    Press Control + Command + F on your keyboard to enter or exit full screen mode.

  • Screen resolution gone poor in Mac Mini

    I cannot get optimum resolution on my Mac Mini. Just a day before I disconnected all the cords, including power and HDMI, just to move my Mac Mini (OS X 10.9.4) to a different room, and connected it back as it was. (Really speaking only two cords) and now I can't seem to get my screen resolution back.
    The earlier screen resolution was there since I connected my Mac Mini for the first time to the LCD TV screen and I never had to deal with any resolution settings, but I am clueless now why I can't SET and SAVE optimum screen resolution settings. Here is screen capture for my System Preferences -> Display settings
    I also have DISPLAYMENU app which gets me to a better screen resolution now, but it seems I do not have any option to save that configuration so every time I restart my Mac Mini, the display will go back to its weird screen resolution state and I have to start from all over again to get it back in a good viewable screen resolution with the help of DISPLAYMENU. I have contacted Apple Support and have done resetting SMC and PRAM and entering in to SAFE-BOOT as well; nothing seems to help here. Any other suggestions? (I cannot accept that it is LCD TV problem because 1. Earlier it was working absolutely FINE. 2. I have my xbox connected to same LCD TV and I am getting screen resolution what I was getting earlier.)

    Resolution

    Display Aspect Ratio

    Display Resolution

    This is what I found on manufacturer's website for the TV model I have. I do not remember exactly what was the resolution earlier but it was definitely not 720 (in earlier image). All I know is I can observe the difference in the screen resolution.
    Also I have tried all sort of setting and resettings; (I was on chat with Apple support over an about 45 mins and on phone call around the same time.)
    Also, I cannot accept that I might be using wrong connectors/adapters/TV not compatible to the resolution I am trying to get to; because it was working absolutely fine just few days before and as mentioned I have connected my xbox to the same TV, which works absolutely fine.
