Screen resolution on 2. monitor - G580

Have Lenovo G580 with max resolution on the PC screen of 1366 X 768. Second monitor (Acer S201HL) has max resolution of 1600 X 900. Can only get 1024 X 768. No option higher or lower. Would at least like 1366 x 768 ?? Have added the higher resolution to the Intel graphics adapter but it will not become effective. Maybe I look at it the wrong way but would appreciate any comments.

Hi there, are you using the external monitor port or the S-Video?? Unfortunately if you use the S-Video port you cannot fit the entire desktop to the TV because it's technically impossible (without dropping lines).
TV has less number of lines than a computer monitor: PAL = 576 visible lines, NTSC = 480 visible lines unless you can switch to 640x480 mode 800x600 is the best you can use to display an image onto the TV.

  • Screen resolution with 2 monitors

I have an MIS G4MX460-VTP video card instaled on Windows 2000 and two monitors connected to the card. I would like to know how to ajust the screen resolution on each monitor seperately. Presently, when I am openning the display properties of Windows I am seeing only one monitor even if the two monitors are connected. Thanks for your help.

    I have a g-force 4200 128 meg card.
Windows 2000. I have a 21" and a 17" monitor and it spreads the entire desktop across 2 monitors but the resolution stays the same on both. Obviously a 17 to a 21, either the 17 wont carry the resolution i want for the 21 and shut down or everything is very large on the 21.
I also cant get it to behave correctly with monitor placement. My 17 is on the left and 21 on the right , but no matter what i do, software settings or physically switching the vga ports it treats the 17 as if it was on the right. these issues are regardless which is set as the primary or secondary, and my 17 is never listed by name anywhere as the 21 is . it seems to be considering that i have to have the same size and type monitor.  :O

  • Screen resolution of 2nd monitor

    Dear all,
i am working on an application which uses 2 monitors.

i want to know the screen resolution of the 2nd monitor.
how can i get that ?

You could use an app property node, set to display -> AllMonitors. Index this with an array and unbundle the result. This will give info on the bounds of the screen. By subtracting left from right and top from bottom,. you can get the size of the screen.

  • Screen Resolution for ALL monitors

IN FLASH MX, I set my screen resolution to 760px (width) x
560px (height). My monitor screen resolution is 1152x864. It looks
fine at that monitor screen resolution. HOWEVER, the website looks
h-u-g-e on monitor screen resolution 1024x768. It looks elongated
    on monitor screen resolution 1280x768.
So I am wondering what is the best screen resolution to set
when in Flash? that will look good on all monitor screen
    resolutions?
    [email protected]

I have four files that show my settings plus another file
that shows the code that comes automatically. Not sure how to
attach the files with this reply.
My monitor setting is 1152x864. My movie setting is 760x560.
I am not sure what you mean by embedding in HTML. I thought
    that came automatically.
My movie might be 760x560 but on a monitor screen 1024x768,
my site is huge because the screen is smaller. And on a monitor
screen 1280x768, my site becomes elongated.
I am working solely in Flash, no Dreamweaver. I thought the
    target to HTML is automatic.
I need to solve the situation of being huge on 1024x768 and
the situation of becoming elongated on 1280x768.

I??ve got a U400 which was equipped with the Intel graphic card and I??ve got an external LCD which I have connected to the U400 using the DVI-to-HDMI cable.
My U400 unit supports the HDMI and the LCD the DVI port.
I have received also the driver disk with my LCD and I have installed the software.
I have also update the Intel driver and used one from the Intel page.
Now I have the access to many different external resolutions and can choose it.

  • Screen resolution on second monitor incorrect

Hi, I just got a new 2015 MacBook Air 13".
I use a 20" VGA second monitor at work with my 17" MacBook Pro with no problems. I also use three different projectors in the building with my 17" MBP with no problem.
My new MBAir, however, will not use all the pixels available on any of these displays.
For example, on the second VGA monitor I've used for years with my 17", the MBAir displays only in a small box in the center with a few inches of black border around the display. Of course, if I set the monitor to "scale up", the screen is filled but with a pretty blurry pixelated display. Pretty unpleasant to use.
All of the projectors display at low resolution, too.
It's important to note that the 2015 MBAir should be able to handle the 20" VGA monitor with no problem. This MBAir has been shown to be able to drive a 4k display.
I can't increase the resolution under display settings. It just isn't an option. There are only two options and the one I described above (with the huge black border) is the maximum.
I've tried detecting displays repeatedly but it does absolutely nothing.
What could the problem be? I may have to return this machine if it can't be fixed.

As far as I know, that resolution isn't available through VGA. I thought you said your machine has dual DVI out... Does your second monitor not have a DVI input? If it does, why aren't you using it?

  • Satellite A660-1FM - Max. screen resolution of external monitor

    Hi All,
This may be (probably) an easy questions to answer but I have a Satellite A660-1FM and want to use it with my Samsung Syncmaster (forgotten model) external screen. I grabbed an HDMI->DVI-D adapter, and all is well, but here is my question:
The toshiba specs page for my laptop (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-A660-1FM/1096013/toshibaShop/false/) shows an external resolution capability of:
    Max Resolution : 2,048 x 1,536
Max Refresh Rate : 100 Hz
    Non-interlaced resolution with max refresh rate : 1,920 x 1,200
But I get what I call standard HDMI resolution (not surprising I guess) when connected HDMI->DVI-D to my external monitor. I have previously run this monitor on my desktop at much high resolutions than 1080P, so the monitor is capable.
Just wondered what I'm missing here, or is it a case of the graphics card spec is higher than is possible to output from the laptop ?
    Thanks for any help
    Andy

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
As to native resolution of the external monitor - unsure how to find this - but it was running a with a lot higher res when it was connected to my old desktop (which has died and been replaced by this laptop)
R/E the adapter - My Samsung Syncmaster monitor has a DVI-D cable sticking out the back of it, so I needed to connect that to my laptop - either vga-> DVI-D or HDMI-DVI-D to make use of it.
The external monitor is currently running at 1680 x 1050 using the laptop HDMI output -> HDMI-DVI-D adapater -> external monitor.
Before my desktop died, using the same external monitor I was running at 1680 x (guessing a bit here) 2048 ish (really sure I had a greater y res, this 1050 lark is really squishy).. in any case, the Y resolution was much much much better than 1050.
But, according to the specification for this laptop, it can output 2048 x 1536 to an external device (How, the HDMI and VGA outptu cannot go that high right ?)
So, I'm trying to figure out how to get the resolution on the laptop spec onto my external monitior, which has more than handled this resolution before my old gaming desktop died.
Thanks again for the reply - I hope this makes my question clearer.
    Cheers
    Andy

  • Top screen resolution for external monitor

I have a bit of a dumb question.  I have a Lenovo T410i, with integrated graphics.  Is the top resolution it can drive an external monitor at 1440 x 900?
And does that mean there is no point in getting a monitor bigger than 19inches?
    Many thanks,
    Joe
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

well that really depends on what uses you have in mind. What are you going to use your external monitor for?
Personally, when i use laptop as a desktop replacement, i would usually use 2 external LCDs, usually at least 19 inch in size. Most likely i would be using a 24 inch and a 20 to 22 inch.
Currently, the 22 inch and 23 inch format have the best pricing, and most people whom purchase these monitors would take that into consideration.
The intel GPU is fine for driving these LCDs, i use my T400 to drive a 24 inch and a 22 inch.

  • Satellite A - Wrong screen resolution in games

    Hi,
I change the operation system from Windows Vista home to Windows 7 64bit , and I download the Windows driver but when I playing games it appear at 1024*768 pixel and my laptop have 1366*768 pixel.
If any body have a solution to this problem please help

    Hello
Unfortunately I think you must offer more details about your problem like exact notebook model number and all games that you play.
Important point is that the game must support the native screen resolution of your monitor, otherwise you are not able to use 1366*768 pixel. You should check this firstly!
Furthermore make sure that newest display driver from Toshiba is installed and update your DirectX version.

  • Fom with Screen Resolution

    Hi
I create form on Screen resolution 800 by 600 and when i try to run it on 1024 by 768 it is not apper completally .
Is there any way to make it run in any Resolution ??

you should check your monitor resolution and your graphic card resolution. But this issue more to the monitor, if you can find your PC model and monitor model please let me know.
mostly graphic card will adjust screen resolution based on monitor resolution, and for windows 8.1 if you able to installed it using this monitor, minimum requirement is 1024x768, so I believed both or your graphic card and monitor should have 1024x768 resolution
    support or more
Waiting for your PC model or graphic card model (if you build this PC) and monitor model

  • Satellite U200-10H - How to use 1600x900 screen resolution?

    Hi to all.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite U200 10H. Recently I have bought the monitor Samsung SyncMaster 2033 1600x900.
The graphic card does not support 1600x900 16/9. I insall alternative the driver([http://www.intel.com/support/ru/graphics/sb/cs-028366.htm]) of a graphic card (intel gma 945), but it has not helped. Now on toshiba 1440x900 necessary 1600x900. please Help!
    Laptop characteristics; win XP professional
    graphic card; intel gma 945
    monitor; samsung 2033sw 1600x900

    Hello
In worst case the screen resolution is not supported :(
But you could check the following:
Navigate to Display Properties Settings (right click on desktop > properties > settings). Then click on Advanced and select tab Monitor. *Uncheck* the box Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.
After this check the screen resolution for external monitor again.
    I hope it helps! :)

  • [SOLVED] Screen resolution selector for non-standard Window managers

    Hi.
I just replaced the propietary Nvidia drivers with Nouveau. I usually use the console, and when in GUI, i used nvidia-tools to change screen resolution and dual monitors, which now is not possible, Gnome and KDE have its own tools to do that, but i am using fvwm, and dont know any X program that allows me to do this. I tought of using console and script, bit i'd rather prefer to have a name of some program that allows me to do that, and i could install in other computers.
So, anyone knows any program that would allow me to change screen resolution, and maybe dual monitors in X, witout any Gnome or KDE dependencies?
Thank you very much in advance

  • EHP1 Upgarde Monitor screen resolution problem in a support message

    Hi Experts,
We have recently upgraded our Solution manager to EHP1, iam facing a screen resolution problem with 15 inch monitors.
Our key users have 15 inch monitors to their system and when they try to reply a support message under transaction data-> Overview tab -> reply it is showing only one line for them , due to which they are unable to enter the complete data in it.
How ever We have found that this does not occur with 17 inc monitors as the required screen resoution 1280* 1024 is possible due to bigger size of the monitor.
can any one suggest how to make the overview tab visible completely with small resolution monitors.
    Thanks

  • External screen resolution "defaults" to low-rez (T510, docked; Samsung SyncMaster 730b monitor)

I have a T510 Thinkpad with docking station (Windows XP) with Samsung SyncMaster 730b monitor. Every time I start up, it defaults to low resolution and I need to manually increase the screen resolution. Is there a way to make the default setting for the external monitor is high-resolution?
    Thanks!

    hey ct-user,
it is hard to say if this is caused by the external monitor or by the docking station.
try having the the external monitor connected to the T510 and see if it "saves" the resolution that was previously set.
also, test the external monitor on a different laptop and see if the same issue occurs.

  • Connecting Samsung 913n monitor to ibook -screen resolution?

    Hi,
I've bought a new monitor - Samsung 913n - and want to connect it to my ibook. No joy so far!
I have the adaptor and there seems to be a link between them, as the monitor says I've lost the signal when I unplug the adaptor.
One possibility seems to be that there is not an option for the correct screen resolution when I go to the Display preferences. The monitor is 1280 x 1024, but I only have three options which are all smaller than this.
I have reinstalled my system software but no luck.
    Any help appreciated!

Hi, Nikki. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You are stuck with the screen resolution of the iBook. There is no way to increase it. Sorry.
