Screen resolution on BT Yahoo browser

My 'Windows Internet Explorer provided by Yahoo' (i.e. BT) browser has suddenly started displaying in a larger font as if the screen resolution has changed (images are also affected). No other application on my laptop is affected. I've tried changing the laptop screen resolution to correct this, however not only does it not fix the browser, it also upsets all the other apps on the laptop - so I don't think the screen resolution is really the problem. I have now returned it to the recommended native resolution and everything looks fine again, except for the browser! Changing the font size via the browser options also makes no difference. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?!!

Hi
not sure if you have tried this but might be the problem have you checked the zoom level in the right hand corner of the window just above the system tray icons

After checking screen resolution, adapter configuration, IE add-ons etc, I too stumbled across this post and hadn't thought of checking the zoom level. After using Control + 0 to reset to 100% it was OK! Many thanks.

Thanks for letting us know tonyhutt.

  • Mozilla Screen resolution

Installed the vmware evaluation kit and everything seems okay except the screen resolution of the Mozilla Browser is awful and is virtually unreadable. Linux desktop, KDE Control centre screens etc.. are all perfect and readable, it is just Mozilla. Any ideas???

what is the host OS? best run at screen resoluion of 1024x786 or above, make sure it's 24bit color ( think it's not so good w/32bit) also try to play with mozilla settings, View->Text Zoom.. I assume you pressed revert to eliminate any changes to the master VM... very strange... I assume this is the SuSE DVD since you mention KDE...

  • Loading Yahoo mail causes screen resolution error

Whenever I load Yahoo mail in FF7, I get an error message saying my screen resolution is too low. However, my resolution is 1440 by 900, the native setting. This only happens in FF7, never in other browsers. It also happens when I use Firefox's zoom setting. Seems like that trips it up.

When I zoom in on the page, my resolution drops down to 96 by 96 in the first test and to 900 by 600 on the second test, both of which are lower than the recommended value. So why does zooming in only affect this browser and not IE9, Opera or Chrome?

  • ¿Can I scale to fit my whole website to any browser, screen resolution or both?

    Hi everyone!
First, i'm not a programmer, but a graphic designer, a have a huge respect for programmers. I need help with some code and thats why i'm here.
I'm using Adobe Muse to create an website, but my website it's on a huge resolution and i can't change the design to make it more efficient, it has to be like that.
I want to know if there's any way to re-size or fit-to-scale width my whole website to a browser windows size, screen resolution, or both with some code using Dreamweaver.
I'm not talking about responsive, it's justo scale everything automatically when the window browser change or the website where open on another resolution.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Ben.

  • Flash website- problems with sizing on different computers- code to resize based on browser/screen resolution

    Ok Guys-
So I have put up a trial of my flash website-
    www.nicksdesign.com/flash
I'm new at flash- as this is the first project I've done in
    flash, and the problem is...
I put the file in a simple HTML file in dreamweaver, and i
published the files, tested them on my computer, and it's great-
the size fits enough so that no scrolling is needed.
    However-
I asked a friend to test it- and on his computer you are
required to scroll both vertically and horizontally in order to see
all the content on the 100% flash website.
    My question-
Are there any codes that can resize the swf file or the HTML,
based on screen resolution/browser [however- we tested in the same
    browser]
Any help would be SUPER appreciated

I took a look at your html source code, I notice that your
size of width sets at 1270 while height sets at 537. The width is
    way too wide.
Secondly, flash-based website aren't that cool.
Finally, you probably get a better help from Flash forum
participants. This forum is all about Dreamweaver-related topics,
and is not about how to create or design Flash for the first time.
Hope that helps and good luck with your project.

  • My AT&T Yahoo email gives me an error message saying that my screen resolution is too low, but it is at 1600 x 900. This only happens in Firefox, not in IE.

When I try to use Firefox to access my ATT.NET account I get an error message about my screen resolution being to low to support the site.My resolution is not low its at the highest available. I also use IE9 and do not have this problem. I am running Windows 7 and Firefox 15.0.1. This has been an ongoing problem. I am using a Toshiba laptop 15.6 screen with 4GB RAM. I see other complaints about this specific problem but have yet to find a solution. Thanks for your help.

Please see added comments on the question. Its not a zoom issue its all about the new ATT design email and Firefox, I agree with Noah there a bug between the old and the new and firefox only.
    UPDATE:
I stand corrected. I went back in again and did the reset zoom and it appears to eliminate the error. Problem solved but I am not sure why I never set up zoom and didn't have the problem on any other site. Will it need to be done each and every time I go into that page or is it now corrected?

My laptop display had no screen resolution problem before upgrading to 3.6.10. The error states I should set to 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. This is less than that I already have. I don't understand why this occurs.

  • How can I resize my Flash site to fit any screen resolution?

I built a 100% flash site with tiled framing but I have a
problem. My flash was built 766 x 750 pixiels. When viewed at
resolutions greater than 1024x768 the webpage looks great but
anything less than that it looks like @#$@. I know most people
probably view at 1024 x 768. Is there anyway to auto resize based
up on screen resolution or something to detect the screen size and
    adjust the webpage accordingly.

    tlcarl,
    > I know most people probably view at 1024 x 768.
You think so? Even if they have their resolution that high
    (which is
fairly standard, nowadays), do you think most people maximize
    their browsers
    to fill that whole area?
    > Is there anyway to auto resize based up on screen
    > resolution or something to detect the screen size and
    > adjust the webpage accordingly.
There is, indeed. :) Check out the Stage.onResize event in
    the
ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference. That event is dispatched
    when the
browser (or whatever container) is resized -- in cases where
    the SWF is
embedded with percentages. If that's your aim, you'll need to
    code against
that event, which can be done like this ...
    http://www.quip.net/blog/2006/flash/how-to-position-movie-clips-browser-resizing
It can take a bit of thought, depending on the complexity of
    your goal,
but the result is usually worth it. The site in your URL is
    already built,
so this wouldn't do much of anything without opening the
    hood, so to speak,
and completely rebuilding the engine. A Flash movie has to be
    designed and
programmed to respond to the Stage.onResize event.

  • Screen Resolution trouble on Toshiba Satellite l775-s7307after reinstallation of Windows 7

I was having troubles. Had browser malware that couldn't be contained, and I had other issues, such as, getting the blue screen of death on a regular basis.....I wiped the HD, and reinstalled Windows 7-32 bit, and downloaded and installed all the drivers for this model from the Toshiba website, but I seem to be struggling with readjusting my screen resolution to where it should be....It won't set any higher than 1024 x 768.
    Any ideas?

In the future, I'd recommend performing a system recovery rather than reinstalling a clean copy of Windows. A system recovery will include all applicable software.
You installed the latest Intel display driver?

  • I cannot enlarge photos on Facebook, I only get a BLACK, BLANK screen when I click on them-someone suggested it might be "Screen Resolution Setting"? I've already uploaded new firefox version. Please help!

I am not able to ENLARGE photos on Facebook, this means photos that friends post on News Feed & photos that I post in my FB photo albums. I only get a BLANK, BLACK screen when I click on individual photos. A friend suggested that I upload the New Firefox, and I did this today, but it did not resolve problem. Friend also suggested that it could be "Screen Resolution Setting"?? OR "Data Rate" too slow?? I do not know how to check these features? Please help! If it could be something else, please let me know. Thank you for your time & help!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Screen resolution in 10G and converison from 6i

    Scenario is something like this:
We are converting forms from 6i to 10G.
We have designed forms in 6i for 1024x768 screen resolution. We don't have any issues in 6i for screen resolution of 1024x768.
We converted the form to 10G. Screen resolution is still 1024x768 in 10G. We are using separateFrame=true in formsweb.cfg to make sure we don't show the Applet in browser window. separateFrame=true opens the application in new window and this new window can use entire screen resolution.
Applet in new window is bigger than the screen resolution and we see scroll bars in main window when we open a child window. Obviously the applet is showing bigger footprint than client server form.
Why is this so? Is there a way to fix this?

If you will bring up a client-server form and a Web separate-frame form and compare them side-by-side, you can easily see the difference.
The height and width of the actual space used by the form is identical. In fact, in my comparison, both window widths are exactly the same number of pixels. I used snagit to compare the sizes.
However, if you compare the heights, you will see the difference. The web forms window has three bands above the actual Form canvas:
    1. The main window bar with the java icon on the left, window title, and the three windows icons for minimize, maximize and close.
    2. The pull-down menu choices on the left and the "Oracle" logo on the right. (Look-and-feel generic removes the Oracle logo, I believe.)
    3. The Window0 bar, blank except an icon on the left (right click shows Restore, Move, Size,... CLose) and an icon on the right, which clicking causes the inside window to maximize or restore.
The Client/Server window has two bands:
    1. Main window bar, similar to 1 above, except the icon on the left is a Forms icon instead of java.
    2. Combination of 2 and 3 above: Contains both the icons in 3 above plus the pull-down menu choices. It is also about 8 pixels shorter than the web forms bar 2.
In addition, comparing the bar with the message and status lines at the bottom of both versions, you can see that the web forms bar is about 9 more pixels higher.
It is possible to position the Window0 at a y_pos of about -20 to regain some of the lost height (this causes the third bar described above to be hidden behind the second). But you cannot get all the height back, because of the additional height taken by Web Forms for the second bar and the bottom area.
So what is left is to reduce the height of the canvas area used by your forms by about 20 pixels.
I believe these heights are determined by the java runtime used by web forms rather than Oracle, so there is nothing Oracle can do about it.

  • Screen resolution in webdynpro

    Hi everyone;
I create a webdynpro with 2 transparent container in rootuielementcontainer.
In rootuielementcontainer I validate stretchedHorizontally's flag and stretchedVertically's flag; so when user explode the browser, the window is adapted to the resolution choosen. Now in the second transparent container I display an existing pdf; in interactive form element I set height to 100% and width to 100% but the pdf didn't adapted to the screen resolution.
How can I adapte the pdf layout to the screen resolution dinamically ?

  • Screen resolution in Word 2008

I am thinking of buying Office 2008, and noticed that MS recommends a screen resolution of at least 1024x768 for Word. But I have my Macbook set at 1024 X 640 because at any greater resolution, the various task bars in my browser and app's become too small to work with conveniently. For instance, the urls in the browser address bar in Safari shrink when the screen is set to 1024 X 768 - so I find myself re-setting the resolution.
Anyway, does Word work and look OK with 1024 x 640?

I looked at it in that resolution and thought it looked awful. It's usable but yuck. Have you considered using the zoom feature built into the Universal Access system preference?
