I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your computer for assistance.
For questions related to Windows OS, I would recommend asking them where Dave already pointed.

  • Screen resolution in all the programs is really low.

I recently bought CS6 and the screen resolution in all the programs is extremely low.  The tools and the content of the documents.  I have checked the preferences and I don't see a problem or an option to increase the quality.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

If this is a retina Mac there is nothing you can do about it. CS6 is not optimized for retina.
If that’s not what you’re talking about we’ll need some real details.

  • Screen resolution options in Mini

I'm sorry to post a speculative question.
I'm planning to get a Mac mini shortly. I have assumed that the Minis have very flexible display options and I will able to set a screen resolution that matches a monitor's aspect ratio of 16:10 without distortion of loss of screen territory. Would this be right?
The background: I've just bought a low end 19" widescreen monitor in preparation for the Mini, thinking I can use it on my old G4 iBook in the meantime. The iBook doesn't have a wealth of display options (only 3), so I'm getting 1024x768 resolution on the external monitor which results either in an image stretched sideways or a band of unused monitor either side of the screen image. OK, but I want to make full use of the monitor with the Mini.

    Sure,
The Mini deals with the 16:10 aspect ratio quite well. You'll probably see small black horizontal bars when watching 16:9 aspect ratio movies, which is a good thing, I think, and better than stretching the movie to fill the 16:10 aspect ratio. Otherwise, windows and other stuff appear just fine.
Your low-end 19" monitor is probably a 1680 x 1050 resolution, like the Dell 20.1" 2005FPW (16:10) I'm currently using with my Mini is. And believe it or not, at that size and resolution, our monitors are of a higher resolution and pixel density than a 23" monitor at 1950 x 1080 (16:9), or a 24" monitor at 1950 x 1200 (16:10).
That is to say, that picture sharpness will appear better at the right distance, because the PPI and dot pitch is better, even though the resolution is stated as being lower on the smaller monitors.
Does that mean that smaller is better? Maybe for some, it is. But I'm currently waiting for a new and well-priced NEC at 23", 1950 x 1080 (16:9), which will probably begin shipping in a week or two.
Here's a link to a cool Display Dimensions Calculator that somebody pointed out to me, recently:
    http://thirdculture.com/joel/shumi/computer/hardware/ppicalc.html
So, try it out. You'll probably see how sharp a low-end, smaller monitor really is.
    Peace to you,
    C. Livingstone

  • Message says "screen resolution problem" and says to set higher than 1020 x 600. My screen resolution is set higher. Why am I getting this message all the time I use firefox?

when I go on to Firefox I keep getting the message that there is a screen resolution problem and it says I should set it higher a than 1020 X 600. But my screen resolution is set higher. It is set at 1360 x 768. Why am I getting this message continuously?

I've had the problem too... for at least a month or more. It would happen when logging into yahoo mail. But it happens only with firefox... not explorer. I contacted yahoo and he had me first disable add ons... no change... and since it didn't happen with explorer, they said to contact firefox. So I followed the advice of cor-el's post (on this page) and made the text on my page smaller... It did fix the issue.... but, I liked the size of the text the way I had it. So, how do I get it back to that size, and not have that annoying message any longer? thanks!!

  • T420 Screen Resolution Change Issue

My T420 laptop is capable of 1600 X 900 screen resolution. After changing the resolution temporarily to 1024 X 768,
I tried to change it back a couple of hours later to 1600 X 900. However, now I do not even see 1600 X 900 as an option.
The highest option is its' current setting of 1024 X 768. Can someone tell me how I can get the 1600 X 900 resolution to show up
again as an option so I can change the screen resolution back to its' factory setting? I do not know what could have happened
except for maybe a windows update took place before I attempted to change the screen resolution back. Any help
    would be greatly appreciated.

    hey Quinn,
welcome to the forums. could you check the graphic card version on your unit and compare it to the version available on http://support.lenovo.com .
is it the same or is the one on the support site ? If both of it is the same, uninstall the graphic driver from your unit and then download the driver from our support site.
do not install it yet, set your unit to diagnostic mode via msconfig first and then only install.

  • Gray startup screen resolution

    Hi Everybody
How do we change or reset the gray screens resolution?
My macbook was on a lower resolution because of a tv connection when it went to sleep. This morning it was completely dead, and I plugged it back in when I got to work. But minus the tv screen. So frontrow crashed the system and i gad to hard reboot. After that the gray screen resolution is 1024x768 instead of the default resolution. Ho do I reset the resolution back to default. I already reset the PMU with no luck. I hate seeing that screen with the scew apple and circle!!

    cpdmac,
The PMU doesn't handle this, but the PRAM does. Resetting your PRAM should do the trick. Boot while holding down Option-Apple-P-R, and continue holding this combination until you hear a total of 4 "chimes," then release it and let the computer start normally.

  • BT broadband too low IP profile

    Hi everyone,
Before I sent a message to the mods I wanted to see if anyone here could help me out.
I have just moved to the Deddington, Oxfordshire area where I have an ASDL line with BT up to speeds of 8mbps (advertised). However over the course of the past few weeks the speed has varied from 0.4mbps to 1.7mbps for download and 0.1-0.35mbps for uploading. This is obviously pretty slow and is directly effecting my work (I need to download some data via scp from a supercomputer for my work).
I did some investigation and it seems that my IP profile is set too low and I was hoping BT could increase this to match my actual line speed. The results from the bt speedchecker are:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.87 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.4 Mbps-2 Mbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :7.42 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2 Mbps
Also the connection data from my router (home hub3 ) is:

Its only showing 1 day ish for connection because I've been testing it on my master socket or others to see if this made a difference (it doesn't). I've also tried the quiet line test and that works fine. Also I've unplugged my sky box.
I think I saw something on one forum post where a user asked BT to manually increase their IP profile to close to 8mbps and then their connection improved to 6 or 7 mbps.
If anyone has any advice then I would be very grateful!
    Thanks
    Neil

your btspeedtester results do not agree with your stats as far as conenction speed - were they run a different times?  can you run new btspeedtester and post results.
you rpofile looks stuck at 2mb and if you can post router stats showing 3+ days conenction time then you can contact the mods and get it kicked into action but need to show 3+ days conection time first

  • Audio levels too low on capture

I recorded someone wearing a lapel mic. Audio is fne when I listen to camera. But when it captures I can barely hear it and the levels are very low. HELP!

If you captured digitally, the audio level in FCP is the same level as it is on tape. Perhaps your camcorder headphone volume is set higher than normal making you think it was fine ... or maybe your speaker level when monitoring in FCP is set too low.
See what the audio meters in FCP show to determine the actual level. If the audio really is too low, increase the gain.

  • Accidentally set my screen resolution too high

I was playing around with screen resolutions and accidentally set one too high and now every time i load up my Computer, it says 'Input not supported' , please help me.

It would help greatly if you:
    A) Identified the installed operating system
    B) Identified your HP desktop PC. (look on the service tag. Post the complete  p/n
If your OS is Windows 7, start the operating system in Safe Mode. Press the power button and before Windows begins to boot, start tapping the F8 key. Choose Safe Mode.  In Safe Mode click on the start button and type  msconfig in the search all programs and files box . Click on the msconfig icon that appears above to invoke msconfig. In the msconfig dialog choose the Boot tab as in the following image. In Boot options put a tick inside the box to the left of base video, then click on apply and OK. Restart your PC and  right-click an unused area on the desktop and set your resolution. Choose the recommended resolution.  After you do that, go back to the msconfig and remove the tick mark in the Boot options -->Base video, click on OK and restart your PC. All should be back to normal again.
The desktop I am using has a dual display setup, so yours will appear a bit differently. the operatng system will recommend an optimal resolution and designate it as recommended.

  • Mini screen resolutions on a Samsung 32" LCD?

Can anyone tell me what screen resolutions (pixel width x pixel height) would be available to a Mac Mini connected to a Samsung SyncMaster 320P 32" LCD?
A listing of the monitor, which includes "native" and "supported" resolutions, is available here...
    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=6559&A=details&Q=&sku=415646&i s=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation
... but I haven't found any documentation online about what a Mac Mini, specifically, can push on such a monitor.
Thanks for any info you can provide!
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Samsung 32" display

Thes best I can tell you is that on my monitor and based on what some others have posted with their flat screens you should have the full range of resolutions available to you with VGA. The HDMI may or may not give you all of the same choices. (as on mine where the highest resolution is only available with overscan) When i first set up my system it automatically went to 1600x900. I do not recall if it was different when hooked up to VGA, it was too long ago.
There are a number of threads on here with different people using different size and model flat screens, with various successes and failures. Should you run into a problem when you do get to hook up the system (hopefully you won't!) it would be worth checking out those threads as well. Maybe even do a little reconnaissance and bookmark a few of the threads after doing a search so you don't have to do it last minute. I know, the threads are too numerous to count but sometimes a little advance research can go a long way when you are pressed for time.
Good luck, let us know how you make out.

  • Screen Resolution is "Out of Scan Range" -- Need Help Re-Setting

My daughter accidentally set her screen resolution on her Mac Mini too high for the Sony monitor we have attached. The screen went blank and then flashed "Out of Scan Range", at which time she then confirmed the higher setting by hitting "return". So now we're stuck - a totally blank screen.
I tried booting in Safe Mode and found that the screen was once again properly set to 1024 x 768, so I thought we had this solved. But when re-starting in regular mode, the screen went blank again ... its as if safe mode is not "saving" the reverted screen size for regular boot mode. My last test was to try to boot from the CD installer, but the only option is to re-install the OS from scratch, something I'd really like NOT to do.
Any other ideas on how to restore the screen settings?

    Great News!

  • Using Mini DisplayPort to VGA, screen resolution distorts.  How do I fix?

When I use my Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, the resolution gets too big for my screen (mbpro 15") and the same thing appears on the projector I use. I'm not sure if I should change my screen resolution while I use the projector or what?
Also, the first (and only) time I used it, it seemed as if the signal wouldn't even send. After a while of fiddling around, the screen finally showed up on the projector (distorted) but we didn't do anything different to change that. It just kind of did it on it's own. Is this common for "first uses" or will this happen every time?
I plan on using this again Friday.

  • I cannot enlarge photos on Facebook, I only get a BLACK, BLANK screen when I click on them-someone suggested it might be "Screen Resolution Setting"? I've already uploaded new firefox version. Please help!

I am not able to ENLARGE photos on Facebook, this means photos that friends post on News Feed & photos that I post in my FB photo albums. I only get a BLANK, BLACK screen when I click on individual photos. A friend suggested that I upload the New Firefox, and I did this today, but it did not resolve problem. Friend also suggested that it could be "Screen Resolution Setting"?? OR "Data Rate" too slow?? I do not know how to check these features? Please help! If it could be something else, please let me know. Thank you for your time & help!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
