When using the back button I keep getting the drop down box when I do not want it. For me the hold down time before the box opens is far too short.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

Virgin use the Optus network here in Australia - which is why, the 3G phones showed you connected to the Optus network, and not to the Virgin network...They don't have their own network, they piggyback on Optus - which is why it would show that it is locked to Optus!
They also said they would unlock my iPhone 4 - which has been done! So there's obviously something wrong with the phone...

The screen shows the usb cable pointing to the iTunes ico. I've tried resetting the device by using the home and lock buttons, but the same screen shows up. Just redownloaded iTunes, but I can't get it to see the device.

I have version 4.0.1 on Linux (Ubuntu 11.4), and the "Import and Backup" button is missing in the "Library" pane, so I am unable to restore my bookmarks. How can I fix this?

I am using an older computer as a dual-boot machine, with XP Pro and Ubuntu 11.4 both running independently on it. On the Windows side, I have Firefox all set up with my bookmarks, which I restored from a backup made on my primary computer. On the Linux side, there is no button available to do this. I have looked up the Help for this, and followed the directions, but the "Library" pane simply does not have any buttons showing, where it should say "Organize, Views, Import and Backup". The buttons are completely missing.

Ubuntu may have moved those three button as well to that control bar.

My backup sync seems to have been erased, and i didnt use 'clear sync data', how can i recover my sync or see my sync bookmarks?

I recently formated my computer, and reinstalled Firefox. I used the Sync feature, and selected the option "Replace all data on this computer with my sync data". However, nothing happened, and my quota ( i only checked later) seem to be an unusual size for the amount of bookmarks i had.
I am pretty sure i havent erased my data by accident, since i only joined manage account page after things went wrong.
I have synced my bookmarks sucessfully before, when i switched from Firefox 32 to 64 bits.

By any chance did you used the Recovery/Sync Key to set up your account again or you resetted it? If you reset the Recovery Key your data was erased at the same time.
The Recovery key is used to encrypt your data and if you lose it, the encrypted data that we have is unusable.

I double clicked the round button when the icons appeared I held down and selected the FaceTime icon while it was shaking I selected the minus sign on the FaceTime icon closing it out. Then I restarted the iPad and bingo FaceTime works now.

My Netflix account seems to have been stopped because of an error by Apple. how do I get it back?

Yesterday I received an email from Apple letting me know that my subscription renewal to Netflix had failed due to a technical issue and that I should go to the iTunes account and update my subscription services. I did not have access to a computer so I did not action. Today I received a message from Netflix telling me I was no longer a customer. I went to my Netflix account and was told that I could results rive but now at a cost of £3 more per month. How do I fix this?

Thanks, I tried to use an IOS device but couldn't manage my appstore account from the appstore app so had to call Netflix since there was no way to call iTunes. Netflix let me renew at the original price with them directly so it was all good in the end.
