Screen's just black- hardware problem

My friend let my iphone 4s as fall on the ground.. now the screen is black but the sound and screenshots are working. Its 2 1/2 years old. When I put in the charging cable it also makes a sound. I put it back to the factory settings bug now its just black because of it. Should I send it to apple for repair or replacement?

Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.
If this does not resolve, it was seriously damaged by the drop, take it to Apple for an Out of Warranty replacement.

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

REALLY NEED HELP!! screen is just black and wont turn on

i have an 8GB, 2nd geration, black ipod nano and i was just listening to my ipod in activity class when my ipod froze. so i tried the manual restart. but it didn't turn back on. now the screen is just black, wont even restart no matter what. so i tried plugging it into my computer but the itunes doesn't recognize it. there's a screen that pops up thats tells me to look for the files or download or something like that but when i try to, it says files not found. right now im at a total loss. nothing i do turns it on. what do i do now? should i just toss it? i dont even know if i wan't to buy a new one cause im scared this might happen again. i really dont want to use another $250 for another one.
ABSOLUTELY NEED HELP!!. im a bboy so i need my music lol.

Sounds like the fall broke something internal. Take it to Apple and have them check it out.

So your iPhone is on or it wouldn't be playing music yet you can't seem to "wake it up" as the buttons aren't responding.
There's a section in this article for buttons not responding.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device doesn't respond when you press buttons
Your device might not return to the Home screen when you press the Home button, wake from sleep when you press the Sleep/Wake button, slide to unlock or power off, or it might appear frozen. Try these steps:
Restart your device.
If it still doesn't respond, or if it doesn't turn back on, reset your device.

since i swapped the front half of my 6280 with another (smashed screen) my screen is just black and i have to press it down to get it working, HELP PLEASE!!!!

I've experienced this before. The keypad lights up but no screen right?
I'm pretty sure your LCD's contacts are loose/faulty. You should send it in for repairs..

Restore the device to factory settings and add your content, then try again.
If no change, then something maybe wrong with the iSight camera at the front, so make an appointment with someone at the Genius bare at your local Apple retail store.

Try starting the movie using a backdoor approach.
Swipe down from the middle of any home screen in order to bring up the Spotlight Search Feature. Type in the name of the movie in the text field. When the movie appears in the search, tap on it and that should launch the videos app and hopefully the movie will being to play.

Everytime I try to use camera on app or snap my screen is just black?

Screen freezing - virus or hardware problem?

Since a week my macbookpro is experiencing difficulties with the screen.
If you like I can sent you a screenshot taken with my tablet.
In short: when I am using programs like photoshop or capture one the problem occurs faster.
What happens: or the screen freezes, or the screen gets entirely striped.
After he hard reset, sometimes I can continue working, but sometimes nothing comes after the startup sound: Only a blank screen and the ventilators making noise.
Is this a virus, or a hardware problem?

The hardware test that comes with your system is fairly limited. If it finds something, you can be pretty sure that you've got a hardware issue... but if not, it means nothing. It only means you don't have a problem that it is capable of detecting.
Apple can run more extensive - and more conclusive - diagnostics on your graphics card.

In the Video screen its JUST BLACK

6.0.1.3 (version) Plus the New QT
Where you could usually see your itunes files it's just black. Has anyone else heard of this?
everything else works fine.

just checked myself, and indeed it was all black on my (6.0.0.18) beast too.
when the screen is black like that, i see there are a couple of icons under the "browse" eye. click on the horizontal lines one and we get the blue and white lines again. click the four black boxes and you get the inky blackness.
perhaps that's our video screen? and the lines thing is our video library?

T440 screen is just black

Hi,
I've been using my new T440 for about a week with no problems, but all of a sudden my screen just doesn't do anything. I don't even see the ThinkPad logo on startup, it's all black. It makes the beeping noise when I try to get into BIOS, so I'm hoping it's still doing something, but I can't see anything. Does anyone know what's going on?

Hello, had the same issue. Was working fine for 1 week and the screen goes black randomly after 5 to 10 minutes usage. When i say the screen goes black it is more like it does not have any backlightning.
It happen in the OS (windows 8.1) but also while i am in the bios.
What i already did :
- Update drivers for both graphic cards
- remove all adaptative screen option (in windows 8.1 but also at the intel driver level).
However as it is also happening on the BIOS, i've investigating an hardware issue :
- Emergency reset button
- I have plug and unplug the LCD cables (on the motherboard end)
- I have plug and unplug the internal battery to see if it could come from a misconnection or something
Nothing has solved the issue and the screen continues to go black
Does someone is experiencing the same and has already had an answer from lenovo ?
Laptop is : t440s with touch screen

I downloaded a TV series and when I try to play it, the screen is just black. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes as well.

I downloaded a TV series and all the episodes show "downloaded" and when I go to play them in iTunes on my laptop, the screen is black and it wont play. I made sure I have the latest version of iTunes. I have no problem playing them on my iPad. This is the first time this has happened...I have been able to play all my downloads on my PC in the past.

See if any of these things will get the videos app working again.
Quit the videos app completely.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Try the videos app again.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that fails, try this. Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of the movie in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK.

When I click on the music icon the screen is just black.

My iPod Nano will not turn on. I bought the device last December or January and used it exactly twice and it quit working completely. I sent it in to be fixed. It came back and I used it exactly once and it went totally black. I sent it back a third time and when it came back I used it four or five times and it went black. It has turned on three times since but now it will not turn on. Is this a common problem? Is there a user-fix to make it start working?

Are you sure the batter isn't just running out of juice? When the iPod quits responding do you plug it in to charge for a couple of hours? What are you usually doing when listening to the Nano?
