Screen Saver picture location in Mountain Lion?

I was just looking at the Screen Saver tab in System Preferences. And found that photos from the "National Geographic" and "Aerial" sources are excellent photos and I want to choose the once I like to make a customised screen saver slideshow. Does anyone know how to access to those photos in Mountain Lion? I've tried /System/Library/Screen Saver and they are just screen savers but not the photos themselves.

I went to that website and it does not work?  I have Mountain Lion on a 2011 Macbook Pro.  My library folder was hidden so I looked up how to "unhide" it and now I can access my library.  I followed all those instructions i.s "Macintosh HD > System > Library > Frameworks > Screensaver.framework > Versions > A > Resources > Default Collections" BUT, I do not have a "Frameworks Folder" or anything after that step for that matter.  I have a "Screen Saver" folder but it is empty?  Any suggestions guys??!

Can I change the screen saver pictures on Apple TV?

    Yes. Use an iPhone browser, such as iExplorer, to access your iPhone's file system. The screensaver photos are stored here;
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleTV.framework/DefaultAnimalPhotos
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleTV.framework/DefaultFlowerPhotos
Once you locate these files, you can replace the photos with your own or add more to the folders. Do not change the name of the the folder.

  • Cannot clear screen saver picture after sleep.  A restart is required to resume work.

A three year old iMac owned by a friend freezes after sleep.  It seems the screen saver picture will not clear.  A force quit or finder restart does not work.  Only way to resume work is to restart the computer.

Turned out a bad USB device was preventing sleep. Once I removed it the display went to sleep like a baby.

Screen saver won't start since Lion upgrade. Two different machines, same issue. Help

For anyone following this thread, I've found a solution to my problem. Turns out that a cute widget called FishTank appears to be the culprit. With it running in Dashboard (even when I don't see Dashboard) the Screensaver and Sleep functions don't work. I turned it off, not because I'm clever, just because I tired of it, and voilà, Screensaver and Sleep are now working. It can stay in my widgets list without any problem, it just can't be turned on. I'm going to delete it anyway, however.
Hope this points the way to solutions for some of the rest of you!

  • Screen saver pictures too big

I have read the other posts related to this subject and tried to uncheck and check the energy saver box and it makes no difference. My iPhoto screen saver pictures are zoomed right in. can anyone help ?

Install the 10.6.7 update, comes to mind. Additionally, move any screensaver files in your /Library/Preferences/ and ByHost subfolder to the Desktop, restart, reset the screensaver settings, and see if that fixes the issue. I, for one never use anything but the installed ones, but my mate uses family photos and my experience is that they're resized to fit.

  • Full screen mode not working in Mountain Lion

I'm using the new Retina Macbook Pro. The full screen mode to preview pictures and movies is not working; the dock still remains open when the full screen is open. I have to manually hide the dock by pressing command + D and do the same to open the dock again. This doesnt seem to an OS issue because my Macbook Air, which is also running Mountain Lion is doing just fine. I can preview a picture and the dock automatically hides.
Has anyone experienced the same issue? What is the fix for this problem?

Bingo! Problem solved. I didn't realize that you could "right click" the mouse over the "resize" icon in full screen mode. When I did that I found I was in the tiny postcard mode. Selecting "full screen" got me back to where I used to be..enjoying the tv shows in full screen mode. Kinda of weird. Choosing "full screen" from the menu bar didn't make the show full "pictured" though I was in full screen mode. But while in the full screen mode, I could right-click and choose "full screen" and there I be, watching a show in "full pictured". Learned something new.

  • Location of Mountain Lion Download?

For some reason yet to be discovered I always seem to have issues downloading large files on my Mac.
I have a work around where I download the SW packages at work and save to a USB thumb drive and then copy and install on my Mac.
Can someone tell me where the Mountain Lion download is located and what I need to do if I already have the purchase recoreded in the apps store?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Mmmmm now thats a problem!
Any ideas why when I download it tells me that I have a "hash mismatch" problem. I guess that the checksum is failing????
I've noticed in the past that large downloads seem to get corrupted.
    Any suggestions or workarounds?
In the past with major updatyes that have don this then I've gone to the downloads page and downloaded from my PC at work and then copied the .dmg to my mac and its worked.
This problem only seems to have started when I moved to a cable modem from DSL?? not sure if this is a clue or not
    Thanks

  • Screen sharing from iChat with Mountain Lion

I have not upgraded yet. I want to, but I am concerned that I will no longer have the ability to screen shard with my parents out of state.
I utilize iChat to control my parents computer, they live out of state and are not too computer savvy, this has been a life saver for me. Does Mountain Lion have a feature like this or is it gone with iChat? Is there a video chat option, or am I stuck with facetime???

    Hi,
    Yes.
You have to use the same iChat ID as you do now.  (AIM or Jabber based)
You have to (it's just easier) have the Buddy lists on View (by default they are not)
Yahoo was added for iChat 6 and is in Messages but does not do A/V chats
iMessage (the new Apple Services between Apple iOS devices and Macs with Mountain Lion) is also Text only.
You have to be able to do A/V Chats.
Speed-wise over the Internet this has to at least 128kbps (the same as a Video Chat on a 1-1 basis)
Another way to view this is that Messages is iChat with the iMessages ability shoehorned in and with a main interface change.
When you first start up Messages it tends to push you to enter an Apple ID to "register it" for the iMessage service.
If you migrate an older OS's User Account to the computer the System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars (New Preference Pane) picks up on email and other IDs which tends to mean they get added to Messages for you.
You can of course add Screen Names and IDs using the + Button in Messages menu > Preferences Accounts like you do in iChat.
This tends to mean the Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts looks very familiar
The Window Menu can look a little different.
CMD + 0 brings up the Messages main window (A Chat Window that does tabbed Chats and an Interface all rolled into one)
Once you have other non iMessages Accounts then CMD + 1 brings up Buddies (A combined Buddy List). It is not listed until they are logged in.
They can be unlinked in the General Section of the Preferences at the "Gather all Accounts into one List" line.
Your "desktop" can then look like iChat used to:-

  • Can't screen share in messages osx mountain lion

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I have been unable to connect to someone else's computer via Messages and share their screen.  I use this to help my parents with computer problems.
I have checked, and their "capabilities" do not show screen sharing, but I never had a problem with this before.  Any suggestions?

  • Screen saver no longer working after Lion upgrade.

    Hi,
After standard upgrade about 2 weeks ago (mid July 2012) the screen saver no longer works. I mean I can certainly access the application and the desktop can be made to cycle through different photos etc. But when I configure the screen saver it just refuses to go into screen saver mode at all.
I'm not seeing too much occurance of this through the postings which is a bit worrisome as I'd thought this would be a much wider issue.
    Cheers,

  • Black Screen after log in with Mountain Lion

For 6 times, in 8 attempts, my retina macbook pro fails to boot up. All goes black after I enter my user password and I have to press the power bottom for 3 sec to restart. It sounds like a system error, and for sure didn't happen before I installed mountain lion, should I attempt to do a fresh install? Or run any tests?
    Any advice appreciated.

    Hey guys...
Just posted this potential solution over in the forum Clinton mentioned. Not sure if it's a proper fix, but it seemed to work for me.
    Cheers...
Had my first experience with this just now. Shut down the MBPr for it's longest off time since getting it last week (about 6 hrs) and logged in to the BSOD.
My go-to solution on any other MacBook has always been the PRAM reset.
Restart your machine. Hold down CMD+OPT+P+R before the gray screen shows up (harder now than on the older, slower machines). Keep holding it down until the startup sound plays 2 or 3 times. Then release the keys and let it boot up normally.
No idea why this works. Don't have any clue what PRAM even is or what it would have to do with all this - but it worked for me. At least this time. Maybe it won't the next!
    Hope it helps you all...

  • Screen saver pictures are showing the wrong way

Some of the pictures in the Screen Saver are not displaying in their proper direction. The pictures in question show up correctly in iPhoto. Some of these may have been edited in iPhoto, but some of those that display properly have also been edited.
Not sure how to deal with this.
    TIA!

  • Mac Pro intermediate black screen at boot after installing mountain lion

I have a 2008 Mac Pro tower, but since installing Mountain Lion I now get a random black screen at boot. Unplugging the apple cinema 20' power supply for 15 minutes seems to clear the fault. Have had no such problems with other OS until Mountain Lion, seems OK when booting to Snow Lepoard on my other drive?
    Anyone have the same fault?

Thanks for trying the help! I tried every version of start up, but with no screen it was no good..
Finally solved the problem, it was the ATI HD 2600 XT graphics card that was dying a very slow death.
Replaced it this morning with a GT120 Nvidia.
Anyone with this card should Google it, as apple did a big recall on these..
