Screen Saver Preference Does Not Include iPhoto Albums
In addition to the second monitor problem discussed in other postings, I have also lost the ability to select iPhoto albums for my screen saver. The last entry in the Screen Saver list (in Preferences) is Aperture - not iPhoto albums. I am still using iPhoto 08 (v7.5.1). Any assistance is appreciated.
You could try moving the two com.apple.screensaverXXXXX.plist files from the Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/ByHost folder to the desktop. You might as well move the com.apple.iphotomosaic.plist while you’re at it. Those files each will have a long string of randomly generated hexidecimal characters in the name before the .plist extension. The Screen Saver will generate new .plist files when you go to the Desktop & Screen Saver pane in System Preferences. I don’t think you need to restart after moving the files, but it couldn’t hurt.
Otherwise, you should continue working with Terence Devlin in the iPhoto forum. He is a genius with iPhoto related issues and has helped solve such problems for me previously.

I see that OSX Lion does not include iPhoto; if I upgrade from Snow Leopard will I lose iPhoto9?
I migrated my SnowLeopard data to Lion, but cannot open iPhoto. When launched iPhoto tried to upgrade the database but crashes every time. Here's the log:

Screen resolution preferences does not work for me...
I have a 1920x1080, 17.4 laptop. That is approx 126.6 ppi screen resolution if my calculkations are correct...
So in order to set PS to display real size of the images according to the zoom, I go to edit / preferences / units & rulers and set the screen resolution to 126.6 instead of the default 72ppi.
But nothing changes...what am I doing wrong? 100% zoom is still showing much larger image than real (as if 72ppi screen resolution was unchanged). I have tried extreme ppi like 10 and 1000 to see if anything chaged but still nothing, I have restarted Ps and the laptop, and the preferences are correctly saved but zoom still wrong...
Help very much appreciated! It works when you go to the View menu and select Print Size. When you load an image and turn on (Ctrl r) Rulers, the on screen rulers the should match a physical ruler and the image would be the same size onscreen as it would be on paper. This function needed your screen resolution in order to accurately do this.
You should use your horizontal screen size in inches, not your diagonal screen size as 1024 is the horizontal pixel dimensions of your screen.
Screen resolution (ppi) = 1024 px/horizontal size inches.

ITunes does not see iPhoto Albums
I've been struggling with getting my iPhoto library to show up in iTunes for synching with my iPod and Apple TV. I read through a bunch of posts and tried rebuilding my iPhotos database (when out of iTunes and other iLife apps).
It didn't work.
I then pulled the AlbumData.xml into Text Wrangler and "Zapped Gremlins" which removes all odd characters. I dropped it back into the standard location and opened up iTunes. Viola! It was there. I jumped back into iPhoto and put together a new album with photos that I wanted to synch.
I went back into iTunes -- nadda. Nothing. No list.
What's going on? Why is iPhoto putting bad characters into the xml that is not letting iTunes read it?
Any ideas?
I am running the latest iLife suite.Ok, after a few hours of trial and tribulation using Text Wrangler, I isolated the bad characters to three photos with strange characters in their file names. They were scanned images that were probably accidentally named with a bad character. I edited the file name -- that does not work. I edited the xml file and file name. That does not work.
Finally, I saved the comments for each photo, deleted them from iPhoto and reimported those three and applied the three comments. That worked. Ouch. I hope this helps someone so that they do not need to work on this for so long. -
Most iPhoto '09 albums don't show up in the screen saver preferences
I just realised that most of my iPhoto '09 albums don't show up in the screen saver preferences... How can I make them visible again?
Bruce Etnyre has a more permanent fix over on the Using 10.5 forum:
You might try this. Go to the:
Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/ByHost folder
(where “yourusername” is the short name of your computer, like baumgarten - the folder looks like a house/home)
and move these files to the Trash:
com.apple.screensaver.XXXXX.plist
com.apple.screensaver.slideshow.XXXXX.plist
and this one, if you have it:
com.apple.iphotomosaic.XXXXX.plist
The XXXXX before the .plist is a hexadecimal string.

I have Adobe Acrobat XI (ver 11.0.07). Adobe Help instructs me to find the document comparison command at "View > Compare Documents," however, this command does exist on my screen. My View drop-down list does not include a command for Compare Documents. Where else can I find this command?
What version of Acrobat do you have? This feature is only available in the Pro version, not in the Standard version.

Close all windows and quit all applications.
Hold the option key down and click the "Go" menu in the Finder menubar.

Look for these three files.

How to delete screen saver preferences
Friends,
I'm running an imac 27 i7 with fully up-to-date snow leopard. I have my screen saver set to an aperture smart folder with family photos. Periodically, the machine switches the screen saver folder to a completely unrelated folder of about five photographs. It's annoying, to say the least.
I'd like to delete the screen saver preferences and see if that helps. How do I find them?
Thanks!
SteveDoug,
When you go to system preferences>desktop & screen savers>desktop. On the left is a window with the names of the images listed. Apple Images, Nature file, Plants file, Picture Folder, Choose Folder and so forth. The ones that come with Apple products. Not sure what all else is native to Apple.
Iv been using my own desktop background since the day I got the iBook. Normally I just get one photo or image and more it there to use. But, last week I did something different or wrong. Maybe holding a button to long, not sure. Instead of moving the one photo it moved the entire photo file. That file had over 200 (2,500x1,800 in size & over 550KB for each) and probably closer to 250 photos in it.
Way to many to be there. And I simply can't find a way to remove that file from the desktop list. I can high light it, but it doesn't delete with the delete button. I can high light it, but it doesn't change anything in system preferences banner to edit, view, etc....to remove it either. It won't click & drag to trash.
Being very careful because I don't want to delete the file and by error delete it totally off the computer. I could creat a new file with only 1 photo in it for use as the desktop background. Then try to choose that file. However, since the last big OS-X update it's been doing this. Everytime I choose a file or photo it's adding the entire file not just the 1 photo. And Iv managed to add 3 files so far to that list.
Any ideas? Thx, Mike -

Can't Access Desktop & Screen Saver Preferences
Hi everyone,
Can't figure this one out!!!
In the main System Preferences>Show All, the title of Desktop & Screen Saver icon has changed to "DesktopScreenEffectsPrefDock". It is all smashed together like that and partially overlays the "Appearance" title to the left of it.
When I click on the icon, the new window appears, but the Desktop & Screen Saver preferences don't display inside it. The title appears in the top bar of the window, but it is empty below that. Any other preferences icons I click on display fine.
Any thoughts?
I did just have the processor upgrade done, and also removed some bad memory. Not sure if that's contributing? I'd be grateful for any help.

Payment Card - To Be Authorised Amount does not include Shippig Charges
Hi Guys,
In the Payment cards tab SAP as a standard calculates Total "TO BE Authorised" amount as NET pr + Taxes (Screen field: FPLAA-ENDWR).
It does not include shipping charges. I would like to include the same. I guess there is no customization available for this. Is there a way out...
Thanks and Best Regards,
Jay EnnHi Jay,
You can assign pricing procedure in delivery to calculate Shipping costs and then
so that you will be able to capture entire cost and bill customer accordingly
Why not you set the period in Customizing for Sales and Distribution by choosing Billing -> Payment cards -> Authorization and settlement -> Specify authorization validity periods.
