pls i want my sreensaver, stand by option back kindly fix all these options in next firmware. it is m humble request to nokia.

The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

Why does screen saver prompt for secure disk image password?

Okay, seems like an odd problem, but here it goes.
I go into System Preferences->Dektop & Screen Saver. As the program "loads" availabe image sources and such I get a pop-up requesting a password to my secure disk image.
Yes, I have a secure disk image in my home directory.
Yes, the secure disk image is currently "locked" (Not mounted in finder).
I click cancel (a few times, probably 2 maybe 3 times) and things continue along fine.
I select a photo source that I want for a screen save and exit peferences.
I then go an start the screen saver (I'm using Hot-Corners).
I get the message "Looking for pictures....." for , well...basically forever...
Sure enough I touch the mouse to leave my screen saver and there is the pop-up again. Asking for me to unlock my secure
disk image.
I thought this might be related to Spotlight. I tried reading several threads and have gone as far as taking my entire hard-drive/volume
and putting it into the "Privacy" tab under spotlight.
Anybody have any idea on what is going on and how I might get it so the "Desktop & Screen Saver" stop prompting me to unlock my
secure disk image? (WITHOUT having to make sure the disk image is unlocked before I sleep my screen or open the screen saver utlity)
As always, I am only speculating that this is Spotlight related so that could be a red-herring....

Update: i made some progress on this issue. I found that in the ~/picture/iPhot Library/Database/ directory
there is a file called Library.apdb. This file has an entry for the secure disk image i have/had. I moved the file
to Libraryapdb.bkup and sure enough, my picture problem went away. The screen aaver panel no longer prompts
me to unlock my secure disk image.
So now the next chapter of my problem;when i open up iPhoto it wants to rebuild my photo library(which makes
sense and is what i want to haopen) so i allow it. After about 25 mins it has rebuilt the iPhoto library, but there is
one problem. The secure diskimage reference is back in the Library.apdb file that has been recreated!
So now i need to figure outnhow to get iPhoto to remove anynreference to a phot library i once had on the secure
disk image but have long since removed.
I first created an iPhoto library on my secure disk image by holding the option key and invoking iPhoto.
I removed that library awhile ago....
So how do i make iPhoto remove a no longer used iPhoto library?

How much time an LCD screen can stay on and displaying images?

Suppose I'm rendering on the new '27 iMac, how much time the LCD screen can stay on and displaying the same image? (Like the desktop, or a very slow progress bar).
And, if there is a difference, how much time it can stay simply on and showing differents images?
I have to use a screen saver? (but it consume some power to the rendering) If yes, after how much time? And what kind of screen saver, simply black screen or somethig animated?
I have to turn off the display only? (but this can conflict with some particular software...) If yes, after how much time?

I have a brand new Mac Mini (July 2014) with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB hard drive and I typed in my screen saver password today and it froze up. Had to push the power switch and restart the computer. Why, and what can I do to prevent this?

It shouldn't crash just because I type in my screen saver password. But it did. I had to push the power button to shut it down and turn it back on.

Freezes happen occasionally. Hard to pinpoint a cause. I wouldn't let it worry you as they are rare. If this happens often then post back as there may be something wrong.

All can see on my desktop is the screen saver, no folders and no icons/docks can anybody help?

The problem may be corrupted preferences. If it persists, use the Finder's Go dropdown menu at top of screen and select Go to folder. Input ~/Library/Preferences and move these files to the Trash.

Screen Saver when calling and need to use the Keypad, the screen saver doesn't detect the phone has left the ear and blanks out the screen. Even ending a call is difficult as the screen blanks out within seconds

I have to use the Keypad a lot when making calls. Make the call, the Robot then asks to enter a number for a service, pull the phone down from the ear, the screen may light up for a second, but then the screen saver cuts in, blanking the screen out. Sometimes you hit the Home Key to awaken the sccreen, enter your number and then back to the ear to hear the next set of instructions. Back and forth just trying to enter the options is a pain. Sometimes even trying to end the call, the screen blanks out and you fight to try and end a call.
If I use the Speaker function the keypad works; the speakler phone is not alway appropriate.
It appears that the phone gyro, doesn't detect the phone has moved from the ear to the viewing angle. This wasn't an issue until recently and I can't remeber if it's the iPhone 5 or one of the updates. It definitly wasn't there earlier on, as I threw away an Windows 6.5 phone for the same problem.
I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software (design) issue.

It is not the gyro. This has everything to do with the iPhone's prioximity sensor.
Are you using a case that may be blocking or partially blocking the proximity sensor? If you are using the case, remove the case prior to the next call to see if the same occurs without the case.

How to run save for web and contact sheets at the same time

my question is simple and a means to save time-
Lets suppose I have 3 camera images and I want to run either save for web applications on 2 cameras at the same time, how/can i do that to save time or lets say contact sheet action on 1 and save for web on the other to save time or photoshop files and this runs in the background?
would really help save me time.

Even if you could run the three process in the background at the same time I do not think the duration of the total execution time would be any shorter. You would still be executing the same number of processor instruction reading and writing the same number of files. If the whole processor was constrained by the processing power running them cuncurrenly may increase the processing time because of contention for the processor. If the processes are IO bound that will not change a overlaping the processes may cause more hard disk seaking because of contention of the hard disk arm.

My iCloud and Contact images keep getting mixed up with my wife's

My wife and I have two different iCloud accounts but we have Family Sharing enabled. Whenever I change my iCloud image (the little picture that shows up whenever I send an iMessage, for example) it also changes her image, so we end up chatting with both of our icons looking the same. And then when I change her image, for example in my address book, it changes my iCloud image to match hers. So we always end up with the same icon. How can I make sure we each have separate images for our separate iCloud accounts, and in our respective address books?

log in to iCloud.com and check the contacts that are stored there.
Make sure that YOUR contact info is identified as the "MAKE THIS MY CARD"
to do that go to the settings icon (bottom left) and click on the MAKE THIS MY CARD option

7373 and contact image

Hi
I have some serious problems adding contact pictures with my new 7373 phone.
It keeps telling me "operation failed" after I press the save button at the end of the process...
It dosn't matter in which way I approach. I can go through the contact list select a picture from the memory card --> failed. from the phone --> failed. Take a new picture --> failed. I Also can go through the gallery --> also failed. The funny thing is it works for very few contacts. But I think I have saved them all on the phone and not on the sim... I don't see why it dosn't work for by far most of the contacts...
Can anyone help me with my problem? Thanks!

I don't think there is a software update for my phone because it is only a few days old. I thought of that myself and checked the software version here on the nokia site and in my phone. But it seems my phone has even a newer one than available on this site. It says v5.0 and here I can only get v4.7
I managed to "solve" the problem by deleting all contacts and reenter them with the phone itself. I can tell you that was hell of a lot work.... I hope I never have to do this again if I get a new phone...

Try to unfreeze it by doing a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

Ghost Pictures of Desktop and Screen Saver best practice.

My Apple LCD Screen have only about 10 month and sometime i can see the edge of desktop picture who in my case is the Apple Rocks Collection Desktop Picture , i use 30 minutes before Screen Saver kick-in and 30 minutes before LCD Screen go to sleep .... is this a case of picture burning itself in the LCD Screen , is this irreversible or someting can be done about-it ....
For now i have reduce to 15 minutes before the Screen Saver kick-in and 30 minutes before the LCD Screen go to sleep , so now instead it is 30 minutes not 60 minutes before the screen go to sleep.
What is your best advice since as a video editor when the LCD Screen Saver kick-in too fast it is becoming very distracting to my workflow and 15 minutes seem to be not too short to my taste.

Automatic Ken burns and framing in iPhoto and Screen saver

I am generating a slideshow from iPhoto. When I have framed the photos properly I am checking my slideshow as a screen saver. Automatic Ken Burns options and framing are ok. Now I try to generate a slideshow directly in iPhoto, and the framing is completely changed and the Ken Burns options are different.
How can I get the parameters of the screen saver properly in iPhoto?
Is there a way to know which parameters are used in the screen saver and be set as the defaults parameters of the iPhoto slideshow?
Otherwise I found it difficult to set the same parameters as the screen saver for framing and Ken Burns.
I have tried to do the job with iMovie, it behaves the same as iPhoto, not a the screen saver.
iPhoto is version is 7.1.4
Mac os X is 10.4.11

I do not have the feeling that the rendering engine of the screen saver option of the System Preferences of Mac OS X is different from the one included in iPhoto or in iMovie. But the difference between the first and the two others at least is the parameter setting is done automatically.
I have tried since at least two other slideshows, and I could get for fex photos the same settings thant for the system screensaver.
However as my slide show is about 140 photos, I was looking for a global setting instead of a one by one slide.
Any further comments?

ugh, can't view anything on the tv but the APPLE. voice says screen saver is "on" and i can't find any documentation about screen saver.

You'd need to enable/disable/setup under Settings menus.
If you can't get out of it unplug the unit and restart.
If still no joy you may need to restore the unit connected to iTunes computer using a microUSB cable.

Apple TV locked up on main menu and then goes to screen saver. Still locked

Apple TV not even 18 months old. Now out of warranty. Have reset by pulling the plug out aswell as holding the 2 buttons on the remote for 6 secs. No luck. After pulling the plug out for 30 secs and then back in, the Apple intro movie plays, then it goes to main menu. Cursor stuck on Top Movies. It won't budge and I know the remote works as I see the yellow light on the front of Apple TV working and it also works with my Macbook Pro. After the main menu appears the screen saver comes on and its still not responding to my remote.
Any suggestions please? I'll be bummed if I have to throw this out after 18 months as it cost a few $ and I don't believe Apple will fix it for free. BTW it has been working brilliantly for the last 18 months when connected to my MB Pro. Now its connected to my iMac. In iTunes where I sync everything, I have told it not to sync anything so that the Apple TV is now empty of content. Still no luck. U would think they would have put a hard reset button on the back like they have for my AE Base station/router.

Thankyou all for your replies and advice.
I can confirm that the remote is still working by using it with my MB Pro. I have not changed any settings with the remote re pairing/unpairing.
In a nustshell, I took all my media from my much smaller MB Pro and put it on my much larger iMac. I then added a huge amount of music files to the iMac and in turn synced it with the Apple TV - all 160Gb of the Apple TV was then full. Then it seemed to stop working. In particular when I tried to play an MPEG4 movie that had previously played, it came up with an error message of sorts stating that the video could not be played due to an unrecognised format.
I even tried to play an iTunes documentary that I had d/loaded from the Apple store that also previously played. Same error message.
I can't try the unpairing command as the Apple TV will not respond to the remote. Its off at a repair shop so will let the forum know of what success I may have!
Once again thx for the advice guys.
