Screen Saver with iTunes Visualizer

Does anyone know of a program/script/screen saver package that will allow the screen saver to automatically activate the iTunes Visualizer on the Mac?

I'm sure there's got to be an easier way for free
I don't know about easy, but delving into the power of OS X is a good idea. Automator actions seem to need a double click or input--in this case from screensaver.
Have you tried asking in the Automator folder?
Also have you noticed all screensavers, save for Flurry and RSS Visualizer are pictures?

If it is caused by a hardware problem there is nothing you can do to prevent it from recurring unless it was caused by abuse like from dropping the iPod.
Otherwise make sure you ask apple how they fixed. it.

Try using another connection such as VGA or DVI to see if the problem repeats itself.

I use Apple TV's screen saver with a file in my photo library. If I install newest update - will that change anything with my using this favorite feature? I have just under 4000 photos in that file. What is the total # of photos it can utilize?

Thank you Alan and know you are right. I really can do all I need with my netbook and ereader and do not need the ipad. I think I just wanted something new and felt I may enjoy using it a lttle more than the netook. But it would be a waste just to buy one when I donlt acutally need it And, donl't think it is worth the extra money for me the get the 4g wireless capability since I doubt I would really need it often.
I may treat myself to the Ipad for the color, touchpad and fun to use but it is very expensive considering how little it will do for me no more than the things I want it for. It woudl be and expensive luxuray, I can do without. I actually need t learn how to use more of the function avaiable first. Maybe I should take up playing games and learning to take digital pictures so I can at least load them. If I could learn to do that and take a decent picture, I could start selling back all the "stuff" I have purchased on ebay. haha - I do have a nice doll collection, I would like to sell. I just do not have room for anything else. That was the primary purpose for the Kindle Ereader I bought and enjoy so much,
But, I will hold onto the thought for a while and see how it goes and what other comments I get, If I think I cannot live without it, then I will have to rethink which one to buy, I coud get the 32 g if I did not have to pay for the 4g wireless. And, if I knew I could get help to teach me how to use and enjoy all the functions, I would give it more serious consideration. My granddaugther got one for Christmas and that was what got me interested in it. I love the size of the screen and it had good color and was fast. She even had an application where she could write her notes and it would convert into typed words. That was a neat feature, If you could print it?

Screen saver overrides iTunes cover flow in Lion

On my new iMac (OSX 10.7.1, iTunes 10.4.1), when in full screen cover flow mode, the screen saver overrides this, which is annoying as I like to leave it playing with the artwork displayed. This did not happen on my old (Leopard) Mac. I can't find any preference setting that seems to fix this. I dont really want to turn off the screen saver - I didn't have to before, why now?

Have you tried creating a hot corner (System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver - Hot Corners) to disable the screen saver by parking mouse pointer in the "hot corner."
I'm assuming Lion still has this function.

Album Artwork Screen saver and iTunes Match

Since joining iTunes Match, my Album Artwork Screen saver can't find any art. How do I fix this?
The artwork is evident within iTunes, but the screen saver is a black screen with a message saying that it can't find any album artwork.

I have exactly the same.
Screensaver settings says: "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork" which is simply lie! ;-)

not long ago I have joined iTunes Match.. unfortunately haven't checked if it works before for long time..
I have: repaired permissions, removed com.apple.screensaver. iTunesArtwork* in ~Library/Preferences/ByHost/.
Still nothing.
I have found that ~/Music/iTunes/Album Artwork/ has 4 directories inside:
Cache
Cloud
Download
Local
.. first 3 had random named dir (the same) with what seems to be artworks directories. Local was empty still copying there this random dir didn't help too..
Any ideas please?

Screen Scrambles when Itunes Visualizer is turned on Full Screen

I have been having a laundry list of problems with the new imac. One bug I noticed yesterday was that if I am listening to music in itunes, turn on the visualizer and then set it to full screen, everything scrambles on the monitor. I was using my airport express to listen to the music, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the issue. Has anyone else has experienced this bug or is it just my imac. Please let me know.

I assume by scramble you mean that the files on the desktop get moved to a new location on the desktop. The full screen iTunes visualizer runs at a smaller resolution than what you usually run it at. One consequence of this is that everything on the desktop has to be moved so that it fits within the bounds of the screen.

Screen saver with "music on" doesn't seem to work correctly for me. why?

I don't understand what is going on with the screen saver when I have it set to work when music is "on."
My photos will play just fine if I manually pick them to play (i.e. a slide show). But when music is playing, and the screen saver begins to activate after the apppropriate time, I either get some "jibberish" writing in the bottom left corner or I get a solid colored white or black screen.
I've double checked that I have my photos selected correctly. And this was working correctly months ago. I just don't understand what could be causing this now.

Hi, I have a similar problem. When playing music, the screensaver has stopped working. Instead all I get is a white screen. I have checked all the settings and they are ok. The photos show and the albums show will work. But as soon as I switch back to slideshow I get the white screen back. It is even like this in 'Preview'.
Have you solved the problem now. If so, how?
Anyone else affected? I took a new software update to the Apple TV two days ago. Could this be the problem?

IPhoto Screen Saver with ghost images over teh top

I'm using iPhoto 5 and have the screen saver on my iMac G5 set to play out of my photo album. Just about every 10-15 phots get overlayed with a blurred image from some unknown source. They look like flags but always in a circular shape....not sure where they come from. Anyone else have this experience?

It is very weird, especially weird that two posters had that happen. I read in your other post about a long quitting time for iPhoto. I do know that my library of 3500 does take awhile to quit, but I have never had to force quit it. by the way, force quitting can damage a data file and cause the library not to open or show your photos.
I suggest you next do a rebuild.
Try this:
Before doing a rebuild make sure iPhoto's trash bin is emptied. You can do this by control clicking on the trash bin, or from the menu bar under iPhoto.
Close iPhoto
Duplicate the iPhoto Library folder
Drag the duplicate to the desktop (hopefully you have enough room on your hard drive for the duplicate.)
Launch iPhoto holding down the Command and Option keys until you see the rebuild options screen.
Choose the first three options. If you were missing photos in your library, also choose the last option. Be advised that you will get a roll of orphaned photos and it might be quite huge. Most of them will already be in your iPhoto library, but use caution when deleting anything from this roll until you are sure the photos are still in your library in another place. It might be a good idea to share/export this roll of photos just in case you need to import them again.
Back to the rebuild, depending on the size of your library it might take some time. When it is done, hopefully your photos will be there.
You might see some unexpected results as I did when I did a rebuild. Photos had been moved to wrong dates, video clips had lost their duration info and some were even orphaned from the jpg pointer file. It took me some time to straighten it out again.
This is the reason to make a duplicate before you rebuild, in case you do not like the result. If you don't like the result, close iPhoto, then delete the rebuilt library and drag the duplicate back into the Pictures folder making sure the name is iPhoto Library. Launch iPhoto and it should open the library in the Pictures folder.

How to manually create an iPod save with iTunes?

using iTunes and an iPod Touch, sometimes it happens that I want to have multiple save points available for restore in case something goes wrong with the iPod (e.g., losing notes, or forgetting which podcasts were present on the iPod, etc.)
I noticed that, somehow, such saves were generated at some point inside ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup; all three are named upn the same model, a long, hexadecimal-looking string, then "-date-time". All three are properly recognized in iTunes.
As I don't remember how these were generated, how can I start a new iPod save whenever it synchronizes? I set podcasts, contacts and calendars to sync automatically, and I manually add or remove films and music.

You can always right-click (control-click) on your iPod in the devices list of iTunes and select Backup.
From the manual, page 109: "Backups can be created in the following ways:
Once iPod touch has been configured to sync with a particular computer, iTunes automatically makes a backup of iPod touch on that computer when you sync. iTunes won’t automatically back up an iPod touch that is not configured to sync with that computer. If you have configured iPod touch to automatically sync with iTunes on a specific computer, iTunes will back up iPod touch every time you
connect it to that computer. Automatic syncing is turned on by default. iTunes only makes one backup each time you connect, even if you sync multiple times before disconnecting.
If you choose to update the software on iPod touch, iTunes will back up iPod touch automatically, even if it is not configured to sync with iTunes on that computer.
If you choose to restore the software on iPod touch, iTunes asks if you want to back up iPod touch before restoring."

Screen Saver of itunes album covers.. choosing album covers from playlist??

Is it possible to have a screen saver, like the one in preferences which combines all your album covers from itunes, but instead choosing the album covers from a playlist?

I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a few questions.
How would the screen saver know which playlist to display album covers from? If it is selecting covers from all of your playlists, how is it different from a screen saver which shows you all of your album covers?

Can not use default screen saver with this version of Mac OS X

I created a 10.6.4 image on a Mac Pro that I have installed on a new 27" iMac. Every thing works fine, as expected, except the screen savers (all Apple default). All screen savers appear in the list when booted off the Mac Pro, but when booted off the iMac, all but 2 disappear (Computer Name and Flurry). Also, the ones listed under Pictures show up, but when I try to use one it says "Can not use 'screen saver name' with this version of Mac OS X - Contact your vendor."
Also, the flurry screen saver runs extremely slow.
Unfortunately, I don't have another iMac to compare versions with, but I've compared with a new Macbook Pro and they are exactly the same. Is there a cache or a pref I can flush?

The old screensavers were about the first things that didn't work when moving to Snow Leopard, so my guess would be the iMac is booting in 32-bit vs 64-bit mode (or whichever mode is incompatible with your screensavers).

My ipod always crashes (blue screen) whensync with iTunes on my PC

i tried both latest version of iTunes and ipod update. It happens either way. Whenever I start sync'ing the songs from PC to my ipod (5G 60GB), the PC will hang with blue screen within a couple of minutes.
Anyone has similar experience and is aware of any solution? Many thanks.

I have the latest Itunes and a IPOD CLASSIC updated.
Some songs i can play in itunes (MP3 CDRip 320 KBS) won't play in the ipod.
I don't know how to fix this problem.
I restored the ipod from the itunes and sync again, but the problem persist.
The sogs are Skipped when i try to play.
I find a fix for this problem: sync the music with mediamonkey.
ALL songs can be played in the ipod after sync with mediamonkey.
Is very strange this problem, maybe itunes generate this problem, because after aync with itunes many songs are skiped and won't play, but with mediamonkey sync the problem is solved.

Screen Saver with Flickr no longer working

I don't really enjoy seeing the same nature photos during the screen saver and I enjoy entering search terms via Flickr. This used to work. Now after 2-3 of the Flickr photos the screen saver reverts right back to the default nature photos, so I'm stuck seeing that polar bear swimming underwater and that flock of pink flamingos.

If I go the xmlpserver page I get the standard HTTP 404 Not Found Page.
I am using OC4J and it is running.
This is all on my laptop.
The contents of the XMLP configuration file are as follows:

I found a picture of My iPhone screen saver in iTunes. How?

I'm not sure how it happened, but my phone took a picture of itself. I was uploading some pictures into iPhoto and there was a picture of my iPhone screen saver. It shows the phone was on Airplane mode at the time. Any of you have an explanation for this?

The iPhone includes a screen capture function, which is done by pressing the home button while selecting and releasing the sleep/wake or on/off button like a camera shutter. I've done this by accident before, and you obviously did the same without realizing it.
