Screen Sharing / ARD. Who's sharing my screen?
I'm trying this on both Mavericks and Yosemite. Screen Sharing or Apple Remote Desktop.
If either of those apps on another Mac are sharing my screen on my Mac, I'm pretty sure in older version of OS X there was a menu item in the menu bar that allowed me to see who was sharing my screen, and disconnect them or force them into observe mode if I wanted to.
I can't seem to find any option like that in more recent versions of OS X. Isn't there any way to see who's observing or sharing my screen? The menu item is still there but it doesn't have any of that information in it that I can see.
Am I missing something? Any direction or suggestions appreciated!
Thanks!
David.

Messages Screen Sharing Ends with a "Hanging" Desktop Screen
Since the OS X 10.8.1 update, Messages screen sharing – that used to work well in my environment – everytime ends up with a hanging desktop screen. That means: The screen of the desktop, where Messages screen sharing took place, freezes. I have to swipe to another desktop in order to successfully quit Messages via the dock context menu. After that, its desktop screen is responsive again.
This happens independant of who ends the screen sharing session.
It used to work seemlessly before OS X 10.8.1. So I think there is an issue with this update, Messages and the screens (desktops) management.

As Screen Sharing does tend to involve a change from the Shared Screen at one resolution changing to your screen at possibly another (which for some produces the White Screen In Sharing) I thought it might pay to look at the method when wanting to go back to your own screen during a Screen Sharing Chat
I would still report it here
http://www.apple.com/feedback/ichat.html
Obviously you have to use some of the free text area to state your OS version and Messages version at it will not appears in any of the drop downs.

You'll have to contact the developer about this. Apple doesn't make this app;

Screen sharing is not working at login screen
Hi:
I need a little help. I have a headless Mac (System A) that I just upgraded to Mountain Lion (not Mountain Lion Server) from Snow Leopard Server.
From another Mac (System B) running Mountain Lion I was previously able to use Screen Sharing to remotely acess System A's login screen. Now, after upgrading from SL Server to ML I can only use Screen Sharing to remotely control System A from System B AFTER I have already logged into System A using a direct attached keyboard and screen. In other words, I lost the ability to access the login screen on Sys A.
Anyone have any ideas here???I was having the same issue. In my case, I had copied /System/Library/CoreServices/Screen Sharing.app to the /Applications folder, some time ago. I did this so I could more easily launch Screen Sharing via Spotlight. Because of this, when I launched Screen Sharing, I was executing the 'old' Screen Sharing app. I re-copied the 'new' app to /Applications, and all is well! Hope this helps!

There is no option to reject an incoming call in locked screen, there must be an icon on the screen for one who don't want to use lock button several times, i did'nt face this problem in last ios 6.1.3.
A good read. Have you done anything at all to resolve your problem. Reset? Restore?
By the way - "your products"... nobody here produced the iPhone, we are all just users. Apple is not here. -

How can I import comments from shared reviewer who doesn't have acrobat pro?
How can I import comments from shared reviewer who doesn't have acrobat pro? I sent out a shared review, but not all of the reviewers have acrobat pro, they do have acrobat reader 9 and have made comments on the document, but they do not appear when I open the shared review from the workspace. Can I import his comments so that they are apart of the shared review?
I figured it out, so I will share just in case anyone else has this issue...
The reviewer emailed me his comments on the document. I opened it and made a comment. When I went to publish my comment a dialogue box opended asking if I wanted to publish his comments to the shared review for him. Says yes and the reviewers comments are now published and a part of the shared review. -
For those who bought the matte screen option, are you happy with it?
Hello,
I'm planning on getting a new Macbook Pro 15" and wanted to know if those who have the matte screen option are happy with it? Cosmetically does it look bad?
Wondering whether to get the matte option or just buy one with the glossy screen and then buy an anti glare cover to go over it? The laptop I'm used to is my sister's older Powerbook which is matte but lately I'm always on her white Macbook which is glossy. I know when I've used it outdoors it's a pain and if I watch TV shows on it I have to adjust the screen to see it just right.
So I thought I'd get others opinions. I don't have to have matte for work or anything but it's just my preference glare wise.I have a pair of 17" MBP's, the one from last year in glossy, and the new one (i7 2010 model) in matte. The main reason I got the matte is because that was the only 17" i7's that were in stock at the Apple Store...I've never had a very strong opinion gloss vs. matte.
After close to a week, my eyes are liking the matte screen better. I also think the overall quality of the display is better...maybe my new one has a higher-quality panel than what my 2009 MBP has. Neither of them look "bad", but the I definitely enjoy looking at the images on the matte screen more. Also losing most of the reflections from the keyboard lighting is very nice in certain situations.
I believe the matte screen makes the lid overall slightly less rigid. People who do careless stuff like opening/adjusting the lid by grabbing it from near one of the corners might find it easier to damage the matte screen that way. -
Who is Sharing my iTunes Library?
I was wondering if there's a way to find out who is sharing my iTunes library on a local network.
You can make your copy of iTunes ignore other shared libraries on your network by unticking the checkbox next to Shared Libraries under the Edit > Preferences... > General tab.
Of more concern might be the network secutity implications if your machine is sharing a network with unknown others.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
Monitoring who is sharing the internet connection..
Hi, I just bought a WRT54G v.6 today and it's absolutely fabulous.
But I am quite new with this thingy so I just want to know a few things:
1. When I tried to get a laptop connected to the router wirelessly, there was some kinda IP address conflict, but now it is working. If the same problem happens, what do I need to do?
2. How do I see who is sharing the connection with me?
Wait for replies,
Thanks ahead.
Message Edited by playitcold on 08-23-2006 09:48 PM"Advanced Lan Scanner" is quite good software and its a free download, it saves you from having to log onto your router each time you want to look at who is logged on to the network
