Screen sharing: can't access after update to SL

I have a set-up with a new mini server running SL Server 10.6.2. A Macbook Pro and iMac are on the network, they were both running 10.5.8. I manage my mini server with one of these computers through screen sharing.
I updated my Macbook Pro last week to SL 10.6.2.
I updated my iMac this week to SL 10.6.2.
I can't log in to my mini server from these 2 machines since the update. I get a message "Authentication failed, please verify user name and password".
I have restarted my imac under 10.5.8, and I can use screen sharing again to manage my server.
I am at a loss to figure why the update to SL on my clients has killed may screen sharing access to the server.
Any hints would be appreciated.

Screen Sharing doesn't work after updating to Remote Desktop 3.6.1

Hi everyone!
I hope others can help. We just noticed this at two different schools today after upgrading to 3.6.1. We upgraded Admin and Client Apple Remote Desktop to ARD 3.6.1 today and now we cannot share our screens with the clients. It turns black, hangs, then returns the client to its original desktop.
We tried from a 3.5.1 admin machine, and it still works fine as it used to.
We feel like the issue is 3.6.1, but cannot find any support for the issue online.
Other troubleshooting steps:
1) emptied user and system Caches
2) restarted all units
3) tried 3.6.1 admin to 3.5.1 clients, no luck
4) tried 3.6.1 admin to 3.6.1 clients, no luck
5) checked for loops in the network, nothing.
We can perform most other tasks like controlling the clients and copying files, but not screen sharing.

All right! Total workaround here, and no fix, but at least we're able to Screen Share in ARD now. This is how we downgraded to 3.5.1 Admin in Apple Remote Desktop. The only hiccup that may not work for most is that you must have an older Remote Desktop file on hand. (hopefully from a computer that was not upgraded which was our case).
Here is what we did...
1) Login as an admin.
2) Throw out the Remote Desktop app (in Applications)
3) From another computer, drag in an old Remote Desktop app into your Applications folder
4) Throw out the "RemoteManagement" folder inside System/Library/CoreServices
5) From support.apple.com/downloads, download Remote Desktop 3.5.1 (both the Client and Admin installers).
6) Run the Admin install first, then the Client Install.
I did the above steps in two schools in a different order, but I wrote it this way to make it more streamlined. I never had to re-enter the Serial # or anything. Once I did the steps above, it just worked again.

ExtendScript Toolkit can't access After Effects 13.1

It seems like ExtendScript Toolkit can't access After Effects 13.1. It's not available in the dropdown choices
and when I try targeting it with `#target "aftereffects-13.1"` I get this error (in french):

When I try to open After Effects from my Mac, the programs will not run without OX 11.0.2.
Something is obviously being lost in translation here. Adobe's programmers obviously know which is the latest version of OS X (and it's not 11.0.2).
What is the exact error message word for word? Screenshot would be even better.

After itunes update can't access store/update ipad

After updating to the latest version of itunes (10.5.1) I can't access the itunes store nor will it allow me to update my iPad. The store is just blank. Ran diagnostics and all passed. I've never had an issue at all with my itunes. Also after updating I tried updating my iPad 2 to ios5 and it froze during the backup. Any thoughts? Uninstall/reinstall?

Home sharing does not work after update to snow leopard 10.6.4 and iTunes 9

I am using home sharing since about a year without any problems. After updating to snow leopard 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2 it suddenly does not work anymore.
On my iMac and my Mac Book Pro I get error code 3259 and it tells me to check my firewall and to enable Port 3689.
I did not change anything in the firewall settings, itunes on both allows data traffic in both directions. I also do not find any option to activate a port ( also wondering why this is suddenly now necessary)
I deactivated home sharing on both machines and enabled it again. It still does not work.
On both machines iTunes displays the the library on the left side but like said it is not accessable
With Finder I can access the other computer from both machines without any problem.
Any help to solve this would be very much appreciated

first of all, if you are behind a router firewall, and have your network secured (WPA2 and a long, non-dictionary password made up of letters and numbers), you don't need the software firewall on your Mac(s).
@ least turned if off for troubleshooting purposes.
turn home sharing off on both computers, and make sure
(a) both Macs have access to the internet
(b) iTunes on both machines is authorized for the same iTunes account.
turn home sharing back on on both Macs.

Home Sharing no longer working after updating iTunes

After updating iTunes on both my computers to version 10.7, the home sharing feature is now not working. One computer can see and access the other's library but the other cannot see its. I have checked the sharing preferences on both computers. Both have 'Share my library on my local network' and 'Share entire library' checked and neither are set to require a password. I have turned on home sharing from the 'Advanced' sub menu in the menu bar and both use the same Apple ID.
Any thoughts on how I can fix this. I think it is just a bug and should hopefully get fixed but maybe it's just me.

I'm up and running. Spoke with Apple and they had me go to : preferences, network and create a new location. That seems to have reset something. I had to reset all my devices back to my main network that had stopped working. The guest network will not let Home Sharing work, only the main network.
Others have been able to use Home Sharing without clicking "Done" after typing in their password. After you click "Done" the Shared disappears in iTunes.
Apple help people were GREAT!

Screen Sharing - Can't Authenticate

Hi everyone,
I have screen sharing enabled on both my machines. My Macbook Pro is able to view my iMac screen but when I try to access my MacBook it prompts me for username and password and no matter what I put in, it says it cannot authenticate.
I created a user solely to test this feature and still says it can't authenticate - any suggestions?

I was able to fix this by reformatting my MBP and starting from scratch. Not sure what was causing this but that fixed it.

No Video or Screen sharing in iChat since last update.

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro 15.4" laptop.
When I first started up, iChat worked beautifully. But after I installed the series of updates, I chat will not send or receive video, and will not allow screen sharing. It's telling me that there's no response from whoever I am trying to connect with. I've tried with three other Mac users, and no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix for this?

Can't open after update to v 30.0

I run Windows 7 and can't open Firefox after updating to v 30.0. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no success. I do, however, show: firefox.exe*32 in the processes section of the task manager. No browser opens and the only way to "kill" it for the uninstalls I have done was to "End Process"; right clicking on the icon in the task bark and clicking the X didn't do a thing.
Anyone else having this issue?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Home sharing doesn't work after updating itunes to 10.6.40

Hi
Just update my itunes to 10.6.40 and ipad1/iphone4 to 5.1.
The home sharing doesn't appear after enable it and both remote app (ipad and iphone) don't work!
Now, my ipad doesn't sync thru wifi and my iphone 4 sync thru wifi even when not charging.

Screen Sharing slows down dramatically after RDP upgrade from 2 to 3

For some reason once we upgraded from RDP 2 to RDP 3 our Screen Sharing has gotten increasingly slow. We are using it in a school environment where the teacher will share their screen with the students, and as we add more students to the share the sharing slows down to become unusable. This problem is intermittent (otherwise I would go though the logs and run a control test), and has only started upon upgrading to RDP 3. Anyone else experience this behavior? I believe we are all running 10.5.x on the OS side.

I also know someone that is having this issue; it was fine with the previous ARD version they were using in the computer lab, but after upgrading screen sharing have slowed down. It's not really that of an issue when its just one computer, but when they put all 30 computers the FPS drops down.
Keep in mind that they were not having the issues before upgrading. I've also been told that, currently, they got a 5 MB connection. I ran a network test and everything seemed fine (or more like I didn't know what was going to tell me that something was wrong, but all the numbers were very low).

Can't access printer. updated to firefox 5.0

running windows 7 . updated FF 5.0. may have changed/deleted some add ons or plug ins. Can't access my printer which is on a home network. printer working....copy & pasted stuff from hotmail to microsoft word ok. I am 62 years old and " technologically challenged" according to my daughters. Went to FF add ons, extensions, plug ins. Is printer supposed to be included there? One (older?) HP smart web printing 4.60 is supposed to be enabled. Is there supposed to be a driver enabled for the printer shown on the add ons or plug-ins? HELP!
