Screen sharing log out after 10 seconds
I am able to establish screen sharing and video chat between two mac via messages, but am quickly logged out with an error message that there has been no data transfer for ten seconds. Then I am prompted to send a report to Apple.
Is this a glitch in messages, or am I neglecting something? Both macs are running the latest system software and have no problem connecting via facetime.
Thanks for any help!
From the Messages menu bar, select
Video ▹ Connection Doctor
In the window that opens, select
Show: Capabilities
There should be a checkmark on the line with the words "1-on-1 video chat." Select
Show: Network Status
You should have two green dots.
Make sure that you and the other party meet the applicable requirements shown in these support articles:

RDS 2008 R2 Internet explorer auto log out after 20 seconds IE9
I have Windows RDS (remote Desktop services) 2008 r2 running (2 Gateway servers, 1 Session host, and 1 licence\broker server) and it has been working fine for past several months. Currently whenever a user launches an app that is internet biased or try
to browse the web, if it is the first app they are lunching from either the RDS webpage or from the RDS feed on their box it will log the user out after 20 seconds (according to event viewer). I have no clue why it is doing this, please help. Not sure what
other information to include
RDS 2008 R2 Internet ExplorerHi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Which latest update you have installed on your server?
Does this issue occurs for all users?
In meantime, please try to reboot server once if possible and check whether your issue getting resolved. In addition you can try enhanced security configuration which might work for your case.

When in iTunes Store sample tunes cut out after 15 seconds - would be nice if I could listen to the entire sample play. I'm using Windows 7 and have latest iTunes software. Anyone have a solution?
I had the same problem, finally found a similar question on here and what resolved it! Hope this works for you..
1st:click START
2nd: ACCESSORIES
3rd: RIGHT CLICK on COMMAND PROMPT *a window will pop up..which will say "Run as Admin." ..you must put in Admin. password*
4th: CLICK CONTINUE
5th: *a black screen then comes up..and from where the words end (it's blinking)...continue from there... simply type
ipconfig/flushdns ...then it the ENTER KEY
Let me know if this works for you. Good luck.

When "Log out after X minutes of inactivity" is on, and those X minutes pass by, my MBA logs out. After that, when I want to use it again, I found that display is totally black and if I use the touchpad, then I can start seeing "what is behind" that black screen (Login Window), like you can see on the picture:
I took it to Tech Service and they didnt find out any hardware issue. Any ideas?I recently found out that this only happens when DISPLAY is set to go to sleep minutes before the "Log out after X minutes of inactivity". I had "Display sleep" option set to 5 minutes and "Log out after 10 minutes of inactivity" and this causes the display to go to sleep first (screen goes black) and then, 5 minutes later, it logs out.
If "Display sleep" is off and "Log out after X minutes of inactivity" is on, the issue does not replicate. So Im thinking it has something to do with the screen being black at the moment it logs out. Can you try and replicate that?
I will be checking the thread you suggested and hopefully oudgrad1764 can find a solution. Thanks a lot. -
The transaction is no longer active - Transaction timed out after 30 second
We have an intermittent error here, and I'm a rookie. The error results in a 500 being sent to the customer every 10th-20th POST and only occurs under heavy load. The heavy loading is over the for the day, but it'll be back.
My first suspicion was the app code doing transaction work and having database performance problems. But the app is non-transactional and the database is fine. The server farm nodes (4) are all experiencing the problems at equal rates, and the other apps on the farm are fine, so it appears to be app-specific rather than rooted in server state or database state.
I looked at the stack a little more closely and it appears to be some kind of internal persistence issue, but a completely foreign one to me. We have no Persistent Stores configured, so I don't know where to even start on this puppy.

at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:172)This was actually my first conclusion as well. But when I went to the Data Source for this connection, I found it's a non-transactional driver. That's what made me go back and give the trace a second look. I don't see any references to the Data Source in question. It's OpenJPA stuff and Session persistence stuff.Non-XA drivers can still participate in an XA transaction via a variety of JDBC data source options - for example, labeled "1PC" and "LLR" on the console. (If you want to understand the particulars search for "JTS" or "LLR" in the JDBC edocs).
You seem to be suggesting maybe the setting can be made in a config doc, possibly of the app itself, right? Right. EJBs have a transaction-timeout attribute.
As opposed to setting it in the console. WebLogic has a domain wide default transaction-timeout setting that can be set on the console, but I tend not to recommend using it. In addition, there's something called a "deployment plan" which can be used to override some of the common EJB attributes via configuration, but I'm not personally familiar with its usage.
But isn't the setting vapor if we're using a nonXA driver? No.
I wonder if this thing couldn't be telling me it's waiting on the persistence subsystem to come available to store simple session data? Sometimes the problem is that there are periodic app requests that are more complex/larger than others. Sometimes the system is simply overloaded, and takes 30 seconds to honor a request that might normally take 10 seconds.
That other app is all about persistence. What if app2 is sucking some persistence subsystem dry and app 1 is waiting just to store session data? Could be.
If the nonXA thing really does kill the quick timeout workaround, how could I health-check the persistence subsystem?Don't know. At a wild guess I'd check for CPU's at 100% on all involved serves, and examine database stats. -
I purchased and downloaded and album of ten songs. most of the songs cut out after several seconds. How can I get them again without having to re-purchase???
Delete the problem song(s) from library including file(s). Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Select Music tab to re-download again for free.

Automatic log out after 60 min inactivity
Is it possible to increase time for the system log out after inactivity of 60 minutes?
In other cloud solutions it is possible via adapt mode to change it
(15 min, 25 min, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours)
Thanks in advance,
AndréHi Angi,
thanks a lot. It is working fine.

I bought a song on itunes but it cuts out after 14 seconds on my laptop but on my ipod it plays in full, how can I rectify the tune on my pc so that I can play it in the house and put it on a cd for the car. I went into the itunes store to play the tune and it cuts out there too. thankyou
Hello there, La Clairiere Feerique.
I understand you are having issues with playback of a purchased song. If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, it might be best to delete the song from your computer, then re-download from your purchase history.
To delete a song the following Knowledge Base article offers how to delete from your iOS device:
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5772
Music
Open the section below for the device you are using.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Mac or PC
Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the song you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a song:
Launch iTunes.
From the Library pop-up menu, choose Music.
Click Songs in the navigation bar.
Click the song you want to delete.
Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
In iTunes 11, the album cover art will remain visible, but a cloud icon will appear on it to allow you to download the item again (in countries that support this).
Note: If you didn't purchase a song from the iTunes Store, you won't be able to download it again for free from iTunes in the Cloud. You might want to back it up somewhere on your computer.
Afterwards, re-download the purchases from your purchase history:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

Audio Drops Out After 30 Seconds
I have just installed Premiere Elements 12 on a new Toshiba with Intel i5 and windows 8. When I play a viedo through Elements the audio drops out after 30 seconds. When I play the same viedo through Windows audio does not drop out. I have an older HP with Intel i3 and Windows 7 running Premiere Elements 10 and I do not have any issues with the audio dropping out. This is the first time I have used this forum so I hopr I'm doing this properly. Thank you, Bob.
With a slower machine like that, it's possible you haven't given the program time to fully conform the audio and video in your file.
Clear the file from your Project Assets and re-add it to your project. Watch the progress along the bottom of the program and wait until it has completed its conforming before you start editing. -

Sample song cuts out after 42 seconds
I am trying to play the sample of songs and they are cutting out after 42 seconds instead of 90 seconds. Any suggestions?
1. Use these DNS: Google and Verizon DNS
Primary DNS = 8.8.8.8 Secondary DNS = 4.2.2.1
2. Then apply these instructions:
Windows XP
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open field type cmd and click OK.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return(Enter) on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Windows Vista and Windows 7
On the Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator from the shortcut menu. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return(Enter) on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.

I have a very high suspicion that my macbook air has been accessed through remote login. Here's what happened. I closed my macbook air, letting it sleep, and left my house. After coming back I found it logged into the Guest account (which I didn't know was enabled). Remote login, Remote sharing and file sharing were enabled but I disabled them. I can't remember enabling them but maybe I did.
I am also on a local network with about 8 other devices connected. I looked through /private/var/log/system.log but couldn't find anything concrete. I have yet to log out of the guest account and have connected to another internet connection just to be on the safe side.
My other user account is passworded and I could switch back to it from guest.
So if my macbook was accessed through remote login, is there a way to tell from what IP address it came from?
Please help me get to the bottom of this.May 20 13:03:44 XXXXXXXX-MacBook-Air.local loginwindow[51]: ERROR | ScreensharingLoginNotification | Failed sending message to screen sharing GetScreensharingPort, err: 1102
May 20 13:03:44 XXXXXXXXMacBook-Air.local loginwindow[51]: USER_PROCESS: 51 console
May 20 19:11:14 XXXXXXXXXXX-MacBook-Air.local loginwindow[51]: ERROR | ScreensharingLoginNotification | Failed sending message to screen sharing GetScreensharingPort, err: 1102
I guess if it did happen it would have said so. Thanks anyway. -
Screen sharing greyed out - Airport Extreme
Hello all:
I'm trying to use screen sharing with another mac but my screen sharing option is greyed out. The setup is as follows:
- Computer 1 is a Quad Mac Pro, connected to an Airport Extreme (wireless).
- Computer 2 is a MacBook Pro (older one, but still plenty fast).
- Both computers are running iChat 4.0.7 and OSX 10.5.7
I can ask to share Computer 2's screen and am able to view/control their screen without a problem. The problem is I'm unable to share my screen at all (greyed out). I have scoured the web and this forum to see if I can find a solution, but so far no luck.
Here's what I've done so far:
1. Set Quicktime Streaming to 1.5Mbps on BOTH computers. Restarted iChat.
2. Connection Doctor/Capabilities shows green checks all the way down.
3. System Prefs/Security/Firewall: this is set to "access for specific services". In the list, File Sharing and Screen Sharing are both at top. I have also added the iChat application to the list just in case.
4. System Prefs/Sharing - File Sharing and Screen Sharing are both on.
5. iChat App: Screen Sharing is enabled here as well.
6. Both computers are using .MAC (or ME) accounts.
7. Have checked bandwith and both connections are plenty fast (20 down/8 up)
8. Airport Extreme on my end set to WPA2 Personal (could this be causing problems)?
I'm at my wit's end, not sure how to proceed. Anyone find a way to fix this? Again, i can screenshare Computer 2 just fine. It's Computer 1 (the faster of the two) that refuses to work.
Thanks for your help!Hi,
From your end you can Offer to Share and Ask to Share (2 options)
The same is true of the Buddy (2 more options)
You only speak of this from one end.
Having said that In the Airport Base Station (Airport Utility) go to the Internet Icon pane and then the the NAT tab and set Port Mapping Protocol to be Enabled (there is no need to set ports)
