Screen Shot appears as Link when sent to someone (...

Hello -
Just updated to 7.0 (653). When I send a screen shot (png) via Skype, it appears as a link stating:
"to view this shared photo, goto: xxx/xxx/xxxxx/asdfjewn78034h".
What is the reason otheres are having this issue? I can accept and see thier PNG files from thier older version of Skype. I can not locate any information in prefernces, via help, support, or community.

Well it appears to be an new versions vs old. I am now using CloudApp until everyone else in the world upgrades to ver7 (https://www.getcloudapp.com/download/mac/)

Press and hold the Home button and use the on/off or sleep/wake button as a camera shutter button for the screen shot.
Or while pressing and holding the on/off or sleep/wake button before the slide to power of appears, use the Home button as a camera shutter button - this must be done before the slide to power off appears.

Screen shots added to organizer when opened.

This problem has just recently started. When I open Elements 8.0, a box pops up saying "updating". Then multitudes of screen shots are imported into the organizer. They are mainly gif files and jpeg images of things like the GMail logo, CNN logo or a map. The majority of them seem to be of websites I've visited. I have made no changes to this program. Sounds like you have a watch folder to your internet cache directory or higher.

Mysterious Screen Shot appeared on my laptop- why - Hackers???

One morning had trouble turning on my computer. Had to hold down the start button for 10 seconds and then hold down again. When the computer came on - there was a “screen shot” that was taken at 5:29 am. It showed an open email and a document that I had been working on in the background. The mysterious thing is that “I” nor any one else did it.
Could someone be trying to get into my computer?

Captivate 8 theme overrides software simulation screen shots

Hello,
I created a customer theme for my company. I create a new responsive project and use the theme created. when I try to add a software simulation slide(s); the theme replaces the screen shots of the simulation. The mouse movements and button clicks are retained. When I change to a shipped theme, the software simulation screen shots appear. I do not know what setting to trigger to have the software simulation screen shots override the theme. Can you help?

Hmm, I suspect you deleted or edited the Blank daughter master slide that
is used by software simulation slides. Another user had the same issue a
while ago.

Screen Shots not working correctly

When I click Shift + CMD + 4 and then Space, you can take screenshots of a window rather then the whole screen
The problem is that the screen shots are cut off when the window is taking up the whole screen

hmm, that's odd - if you do it manually selecting the whole screen, does that work?
I imagine that this terminal command will give the same undesirable result - but since it bypasses just a little of the GUI.... you might try it.

Snowleopard Screen Shot - permission to save denied

I have encountered a bug in Snowleopard on two machines that give the error message: 'You don't have permission to save files in the location where screen shots are stored.' when I try to make a screen shot.
It turns out that the user/library/preferences fold does not have the apple.com.screenshot.plist file. There are two new installations of the OS by the way, so at least two copies of the OS installer are not creating this file.
Can anyone post the necessary contents of this file so people who are in my position (quite a few I would imagine) can manually create the necessary file?

If this iPhone has had the screen replaced previously, possibly LCD Display connector has simply come loose from the Logic Board. Possibly the LCD Display is faulty and the front screen assembly needs to be replaced. If you have Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple. This is handled by Apple with Replacement iPhone 4S.

I have Adobe X1 ver 11.0.7 installed on my iMac, when I download a .pdf and try to print it the printer preview is blank, only way is to take screen shots, is this me or an Adobe issue?

On my iMac OS-X 10.9.3 I am able to view a downloaded .pdf in my browser , if however I want to print out the .pdf via the File tab and Print in Safari, the message comes up that Adobe either does not support this format, or it s corrupted as an attachment to an email. I have tried saving it to my desktop by exporting it as a .pdf, or saving it to the desktop. In both cases when I try to open it, I get the same message.
Found that the only way I can save the data is to take a screen shot to my desktop and then I can print it out, but cripes what a pain!
Any suggestions would be welcome, is this me or an Adobe issue?

If you are printing to physical printer from Safari : Use Reader print button from Reader toolbar
If you want to save a PDF from Safari to your local : Use Reader Save button from the Reader toolbar.
PS: if you have PDF in read mode the hover the mouse at the bottom of the page and the floating Reader toolbar will appear.

Got a warning about a reported attack page. Described what an attack page is, and then there was a linked button to install as update for Mozilla/ Firefox. scam or legit? I took a screen shot and then closed the window. What should I do now?

I was in Zyngas/ facebook frontierville doing my thing and then this "information" came up on the scree, not as a pop-up. Panicked for a few and then realized that it could be a scam and wanting me to click on the button to do exactly what it described an attack page would do. I have a screen shot of it, no idea how to post it here, even if I can. Did I do the right thing, and how do I keep it from happening again?

an oh! one more thing, you can change the default folder or create a new one to store all screenshots. Also you can change the file format. Look at the following links

Want an Icon of an AddOn to re-appear in the toolbar (Awesome Screen Shot)

Hello,
I have Awesome Screen Shot installed in FireFox and until the last update it was in the symbols toolbar on the right side next to the search field, but now it isn't and I'm not able to get it there again.
If I choose to customize the symbol list, the addon is not there to choose.
How can I get the Awesome Screen Shot button to re-appear on my symbols list?

Do you see any error messages in the Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) after stareting Firefox related to this extension or other extensions?

If missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the <u>Restore Defaults</u> button to restore the default toolbar setup.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

Unfortunately previous advice of using CCS cleaner tool, and suggestions from links for 1) "exit code 6 and 7" and 2) "Troubleshoot instal logs" did not work at all. So I am desparate to fix this because I have spent a lot of money purchasing Photoshop CS6 but have no functioning program. Surely Adobe can help solve this problem with installing, or else it means a lot of money spent on Photoshop CS6 for nothing. I am appealing directly to Adobe to help because I have come to the end of my options. I thank the forum for their suggestions but so far the solution for this specific "Language Pack installation failure" problem is missing. Thank you.

Which email service provider are you using? You can install DropBox and share links to the files that way. When you snd to your self (cc or bcc) do the items show up? What file types and sizes are these attachments? Are you sending over WiFi or cellular connection? Try using more than one email account from a different provider (Gmail, yahoo, iCloud, etc) and see if it is email provider specific.
