Screen Shot doesnt work?

maybe im doing it wrong but i was trying to find out how to take an image of the screen so i can post it somewhere if i needed it but i dont know if im doing it wrong or its not working?
shift >apple key> 3
shift > apple key > 4
are those right? if so its not working? Any help would be great, thanks!

did that and still nothing? when i do that

or

it goes to either the 3rd bookmark or 4th bookmark
which ever number i press?
i don't know but, it sounds as if you have changed things around some, this is from System preferences Help....

Read throught the help book, and I guess I would set to default & do a reboot of my mac see if that help any.

Take Screen Shot - doesnt work

For the last week, my "Take Screen Shot" action doesnt work anymore. Below is the full scenario.
- Command-Shift-4 will show the cross-hairs, you will hear the camera noise, but no picture taken
- Command-Shift-3 will take a picture successfully of the entire screen
- Opening Preview, and going to File->Take Screen Shot->From Selection.., brings up the cross-hairs, but when I release the mouse to take the picture, Preview crashes with the error report below.
- I have already tried re-installing the Essential Aplpications but that didnt fix it
- I have already Verified Disk, and found no errors
- I have already Repaired permissions, but that didnt work either.
- Tried a brand new Account, but that didnt work
Any Ideas?

With all you have tried, if you get no better suggestions here, consider these two additional possibilities:
(1) Use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then download and install the
Mac OS X v10.6.4 Update (Combo): http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048

When i touch the screen it doesnt work. I tried updating the software and changing the options on the touchscreen config. What else can i do? Any one know what to do??

Reinstall the drivers from the HP Website and Recovery Manager.
Reset the options to factory default in the HP Touch screen Config.
If it doesn't work, either touch screen failure or software failure.
Perform a System Recovery, if it works after, it's a software problem.
Still doesn't work, hardware problem, contact HP.
I have more HP devices than you'd expect.
1 HP TouchPad 32 GB with Android
2 HP Touchsmarts (310-1000z and IQ527)
2 HP Printers (J6480 and J5750)
1 Laptop (HP DV6253CL)
Have at least some experience in each of those devices, and i'll do my best to help you.

Hi everyone,
I am using Labview 10 with XP.
The screen shot VI (available in the .zip in this discussion http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Can-i-make-an-automatic-Print-screen-in-labview/td-p/534790/page/2?q... works fine with Labview 9 but makes Labview 10 crush every time (same computer) .
Any solution to make it work with Labview 10?

Screen Shots not working correctly

When I click Shift + CMD + 4 and then Space, you can take screenshots of a window rather then the whole screen
The problem is that the screen shots are cut off when the window is taking up the whole screen

You can see that the right side is chopped off! Why? How can I fix this?

hmm, that's odd - if you do it manually selecting the whole screen, does that work?
I imagine that this terminal command will give the same undesirable result - but since it bypasses just a little of the GUI.... you might try it.

My iPod broke when i droped it from a 2nd floor but it still turned on I replaced the screen lcd turnd on fine but the touch doesnt work i rechecked all made sure the digitizer was conected but it still didn't work please help?

If you verified that all connections are OK and you did not damage any cable then take the iPod to someone with more experience fixing iPods

why has my ability to take screen shots disappeared? Shift-option-3 still makes the sound but there are no files made. I checked my keyboard preferences and they are all checked...help!

Did your Desktop become Locked?
Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when trying a screen shot..
Try Applications>Utilities>Grab, does that work?

I droped my z10 in the water screen touch doesnt work HELP!

I accedently dropped my z10 in the toilet. I put it in rice for 3 days. the screen turns on and you can see everything on there but when i try swiping to unlocking it or answering calls where the calling swipe appears the touch swipe doesnt work on that part so it wont allow me to answer calls of unlock? what should i do? Please help I love my z10!

1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.

Capture Screen Shot not working in Full Motion

I am trying to use Full Motion Recording to capture mouse
movement, while also manually capturing screen shots. The screen
shots are not being captured though. I've tried the default Print
Screen key, and also resetting it to the Down key, with no success.
I can capture the screen shots when Full Motion Recording is not
active.
The information in the Help files and Knowledgebase seem to
indicate that it's possible to manually capture screens while
recording full motion. Any suggestions about what could be going
wrong?

Hi LisaLouLou and welcome to our community
I think the help may be misleading you here. If you are
recording by using the total “Full Motion Capture”,
Captivate ignores the Print Screen key because you have told it
that the entire project is to be recorded using Full Motion. Hence,
there is no slide by slide based recording as there is using the
other options.
After you have recorded, you are free to insert blank slides,
then add images as needed in case that helps.

Screen Sharing doesnt work on LAN

So I tried to screen share to my iMac yesterday and all that would come up on my MacBook is a small black screen. If I establish the connection manually by IP address with screen sharing it works fine but if I use the screen sharing button in the finder it doesn't work for me. I can go from my iMac to my MacBook and iBook G4 to MacBook. Have in mind its a fresh format computer all up to date. It did work after the reformat but for some reason its not wanting to work for me now. Im not running an admin account (I choose to not run as admin.) Now if I log into my admin account I can access my iMac on screen sharing and it works fine. So is there somewhere I need clear a cache or something to maybe fix this problem Anybody heard of this?

HT1430 how can i restart it if my lock screen button doesnt work?

my ipod 4th generation 's screen turned completely white an hour ago and it hasnt gone back to normal. so i looked on google & it told me to reser it by holding the lock screen & home button for 10 seconds. but my lock screen button hasnt worked since about 6 months ago. is there anyway i could reset it without using the lock button? or anyway to get the white screen off at all??

Qosmio G50-12Q - Screen saver doesnt work if I use wireless mouse

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G50-12Q
If you use a wireless mouse does not work the screen saver.
If I disable the mouse instead of the screen saver runs regularly.
There is some way to run the screen saver also using a wireless mouse?

Well, in such case it can be a software bug too.
To be honest I dont see any connection to Toshiba here it seems to be an 3rd party software which does not start up when WLan mouse in connected maybe the screen saver developer could provide more details here
