Screen shots and full list of 2.0 features

I just learned on internal board that you can now do screen shots of your window (hit power and home button at the same time - clip is saved in camera roll).
Is there a full list somewhere of all new features? This was news to me and is a very cool feature. I'm wondering what else I might be missing.

Avi files of Excel screen shots and activities on a PC with Camtasia

I'm creating avi files of Excel screen shots and activities on a PC with Camtasia, moving them to FCP5, and converting them to QuickTime movies. I've tried lots of settings at both ends of the process. The clips look great if played on QT pl;ayer or other players and not bad when played in the FCP viewer. They lose a lot of resolution when I move them to the timeline, render them, and view on the canvas. Any idea what settings I should use to get these clips looking really good? Thanks very much.

Ok then. DVD is 720x480, essentially a DV image. But there is a lot you can do to maximixe the process. The idea being that you should maintain the best possible image all the way through the process until you absolutely HAVE to stomp on it. Little incremental quality changes at various stages will drive you crazy if you get a bad result at the end. You'll spend all your time trouble shooting which combinations caused the unacceptable condition. Better to only have one process to mess around with.
First off, what are your output options from camtasia? DO export in QT. Codecs, frame sizes? Frame rate?
Is there an 8 bit uncompressed video codec?
And keep in mind that a full computer screen is NOT 720x480, so that's your first issue right there.
You're going to have to supply us a lot of information for us to be of any real help. Might just start with a pan and pencil and doing short camtasia captures and try putting them in different sequence settings until you find the best combination.
This is not what you want to hear, but I think it's the reality. Sorry not to be more help, but I haven't done one of these in years.

Here is a neat program that is really neat and you can use it for some cool stuff. I made some tutorials with it to show my wife and kids some easy short cuts for programs and other things. It's like Grab on steroids.

"Screenshot" vs. "Screen Shot" and Dropbox/Desktop

Most of my "screenshots" are set up to go to the Dropbox Screenshot folder, but since I updated Yosemite to OS 10.10.1 I have noticed that the resulting file is named "screen shot" and it goes to the desktop instead.
One work around has been to go to Dropbox preferences, uncheck "Share screenshots using Dropbox, " close window, then reopen preferences and check same option.
Anyone else having this problem?

It is likely because DropBox hacks the system to change the location of the screen shot and the update reverses the hack. Re-enabling the hack in DropBox's prefs set it back to using DropBox.

When I enter time machine (on Time Capsule) i see the stack of screen shots and the time line. However, when I roll over the mouse pointer, the time line does not activate. The cancel button does not get me out of the app: have to alt cmd esc. Ideas?

Screen shots and disappearing toolbar

How do I get a screen shot on my Mac?
And, my upper toolbar, the one that shows whether its Safari or Iphoto I'm on, has disappeared from view. It's up there, when I move my cursor to the top of the screen it comes down, otherwise it's invisible.

You are probably in full screen mode.
To get out of it, press esc. (top left on the keyboard).
Once you are out of full screen mode look at the top right corner of the window you are on. There are two arrows pointing diagonally up and down. Clicking there will get you into full screen. The esc key gets you out of it.

tcode 'Lt42' is for collective processing, then release the pick list (F5) and lt25n will help you confirm it.

Got a warning about a reported attack page. Described what an attack page is, and then there was a linked button to install as update for Mozilla/ Firefox. scam or legit? I took a screen shot and then closed the window. What should I do now?

I was in Zyngas/ facebook frontierville doing my thing and then this "information" came up on the scree, not as a pop-up. Panicked for a few and then realized that it could be a scam and wanting me to click on the button to do exactly what it described an attack page would do. I have a screen shot of it, no idea how to post it here, even if I can. Did I do the right thing, and how do I keep it from happening again?

What happens when we receive what seems to be a legitimate warning? My message looks like that at the 'Reported web forgery' and 'Reported attack site' links. Can we just choose to 'Ignore this warning'?

Is there any way to crop part of a screen shot and paste into Pages?

Instead of importing an entire photo into Pages, I am trying to:
-take a screen shot of iPad documentation
- open in photo roll and crop a section out of it
- paste into Pages
Is there an App that might crop and paste into Pages?

You can do that with PhotoPad. You take a screen shot, crop it in PhotoPad and it is saved to Saved Phototos. Then you just go the Media section and import the croped photo.

Full screen images and full screen color background boxes are cropping horizontally.

Full screen images aren't loading and full screen color background boxes are cropping horizontally. I'm forced to make my images a full screen slide show (of 1 image) to make it work, but then I lose the option to pin the image. Am I alone in this?

Taking Screen Shot and it is flipping the images????

Hello, I have a new iMac G5 with iSight and its acting really strange when taking a screen shot.
I press command + shift + 4 and take a screen shot of part of the screen and it creates a folder called 'flipped images' on the desktop and saves the images flipped horizontally???
( I'm using OS 10.4.3)
anyone had this before? or know how to change it back?

My lock button only takes screen shot and won't lock

I'm unable to get my lock button to actually lock my phone. It will only take a screen shot when I try to lock my phone. And it takes this screen shot when I press the lock button solely. I am not pressing the lock button and the home button together.

I think I must be doing something wrong.
Before I posted this message, I saw the other threads that recommended the same assisstive touch answer. I have tried turning this on then and again now, per your recommendation.
This is what happens:
- I get a funky new icon on my home page that has four icons in it -- favorites, voice control, device, home.
I really would like to get rid of that new icon. It shows in a kind of "shadow" format; and I know I should be able to overlook it, but I'd like it to be gone.
This screen shot thing seems to be happening when I try to lock the phone and I now have a small camera icon on my lock screen in the lower right corner.
What have I gotten myself into?

Click the Apple logo at the top left hand corner and go down to Force Quit. Then force the Finder to restart/quit.
Otherwise you can use the Command-Option-Escape short cut keys to open up Force Quit and force the Finder to quit.
