Screen size on YouView menu.

Hi Guys,
Im wondering if anyone can help. I have the BT YouView Plus box (details at the bottom of this message). When I first got it, this problem was here. Then after a few weeks "something" happened, and it was fixed, then after a reset to factory, its gone screwey again!
The issue I have, is that when you access the YouView Menu (single press of the blue button), all of a sudden the screen size has changed. Its like you have zoomed in by about 10% into the centre of the screen. You cant see what the Red or Blue buttons do, as you can only see part of a word, or the blue button icon in the corner, but you cant see the words that follow. Likewise, when you access the likes of the On Demand Players, you can see perfectly the players in the middle, but anything on the outside looks as if it stretches onto the other screen.
Same for the guide, and the MyView pages...
I dont know what "something" happened that fixed it before, but I would prefer to have it fixed again.
The aspect ratio of the TV is fine, as it works for all other devices on HDMI, I can swap the cable back to another device and have a clear and decent sized image as expected, but then all of a sudden, plug in youview and just the menu's are out of the standard size.
Anyone any idea's, as I cant find an espect button on youview, the zoom button makes no odds, it just allows me to pick an area of the screen to zoom into, and it then just goes back to where it was...
Thanks

Some TVs have separate aspect ratio/screen size settings for each input, so just because it's set correctly for all the other inputs doesn't necessarily mean it's set correctly on the Youview input. I had this problem when I first set Youview up a few days ago, then I twigged it and corrected it (while the Youview input was selected). That's worth a try, anyway.

Hi the fnt size in the menu bar is too small (unreadable). How can I increase the font size. I have a new Samsung PC with high resolution screen.

You must mean Photoshop Elements 11, not Photoshop.
There is no ability to change the size of the menu font in PSE 11.
    note to mod:
Please move to the Photoshop Elements forum.

  • Whenever i am using my laptop and my palms are on the base of the laptop and i am typing all of sudden... my screen size keeps resizing bigger or smaller

i try to keep my thumb palms off the mouse pad when i am typing but every now and then my screen resizes larger or smaller until i take my left palm off the keyboard base its only when my left palm is resting on the base next to the touch pad. i type pretty fast so it gets annoying and yes it also jumps screens or reverts back to previous message and i have to choose ctrl z to undo and get back to my message i was typing... it also switches tabs on me as well... not sure why my palm being on the left of the keypad on the base should effect anything but it does after a while. and i have to stop what i am doing...and go to the firefox menu and change the screen size back down to 100% sometimes it goes up to 200-300 other times it goes down to 70-80% i find it annoying i i wish there was a way to turn off the screen resize in the setup panel. if its just left to be 100% i am happy with that... i don't need it to be bigger or smaller... there should be a way to LOCK it down... i understand that there are people out there with eye problems and needs to have the screen size increase using the + or - but there should be a lock so it just stays no matter what is happening on my keypad or touch pad or base of the pad... that screen size will not increase or decrease. unless i turn off the lock... perhaps this is something they can implement in the next version or do a quick update of the browser

I have just downloaded a copy of Photoshop and Adobe Bridge CS4 onto a second laptop I recently purchased. However the font size of the menu bar/tool bars is extremely small.  My other laptop also has a copy of CS4 but it does not have the extremely small font size.  Could you please tell me how to increase the font size in the menu/tool bars?

You can't. Any version before Creative Cloud does not support high-DPI displays and that is just that. If you cannot adjust the system's screen resolution and so on, then there is nothing you can do.

  • Screen size smaller than 1024x768?

    Hi all,
I'm working on a project that is being done on 1024x768
screen size. I don't get to resize the screen as with widescreen
monitor it gets a bid odd when resized for a non-native resolution.
So my questions is, do you reckon that there are many computer out
there with screen res less than 1024x768? The project is going to
be sent to an target audience in England, medium to large company
    sized. Thanks for your input

thanks. Went back for a second look and they are indeed the same size. I was thrown off by how the menu in the newest version is structured. Is that new menu style available as an update, or only specific to the new classics?

  • Hi can some one please help my screen size has changed its self  and is now larger than the screen can someone please let me know if this is a bug? if so how do i fix this? or am i just a nonce? if so how do i resolve this thanks in advance.

sorry Q is in the tittle having big issues with my screen so its hard to use

Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays
Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Universal Access
are both places where screen size may change inadvertantly.  Use higher resolutions, but lower screen zoom.

    Hi Karpiron,
What happened when you followed the link to the previous document ?
I would be happy to assist if needed please respond with which Operating System you are running:
Which Windows Operating System am I running?
You can do a system restore. When performing a system restore please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that does not help try to turn on the computer you start to press F11 repeatedly till the menu opens.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

  • IPhone screen size in Photoshop

I'm designing UI for iPhones starting at 2X image size retina display.
What screen size should I set up in Photoshop?

If you choose File > New and choose the Mobile App Design preset, you'll find the Size menu already lists most recent iPhone screen sizes including the 6 and 6 Plus.
Mylenium's link is very helpful; if you go there and go to Icon and Image Sizes there's a table of dimensions for all of those things.
If you have Photoshop CC 2014, you can set up Generator and Extract Assets to export layers (e.g. button designs) to multiple pixel dimensions automatically. That will be a lot easier and faster than manually sizing/cropping/exporting.

  • IPhone app screen size set up in Photoshop

I'm designing an iPhone app in Photoshop. I want to work in 2X size.
What size should I set the screen up in Photoshop to be able to export UI images and icons accurately?
Should I use an iPhone 5 or iPhone 6 screensize?
These are both 2X png but screensizes are different, therefore UI exported for the @2X size will differ depending on which screensize I first decide to start with.

If you choose File > New and choose the Mobile App Design preset, you'll find the Size menu already lists most recent iPhone screen sizes including the 6 and 6 Plus.

  • Image size pop-up menu no longer an option

"Reduce the size of the attached images by choosing Small, Medium, or Large from the Image Size pop-up menu at the bottom of the message window. The menu appears when you drag or attach a picture to the message."
I used to have this option. I just noticed it isn't there anymore. Tried deleting the mail preference file, but it didn't help.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks,

Nevermind, I just figured it out. My screen capturing widget saves files as .jpeg instead of .jpg. And Mail didn't like that.

  • Image size pop up menu missing in mail window

Tonight I was about to resize an attachment (a photo) in the Mail message window, but discovered that the image size pop up menu that used to appear at the bottom of the mail window is no longer there! I tried quitting Mail and launching it again, restarted the computer (a 2003 iMac G4 running Tiger), and repaired permissions. Any ideas on how I might get the image size pop up menu back again? Thanks.

Seems there must be something messed up on the HD.
Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
The important part is to Repair the Disk before Repairing Permissions.

  • Increase The Size of the Menu Bar

Perhaps I may be in the wrong area and if so I do apologize in advance. I run 64 bit - Windows 8.1 system. I subscribe to all of the Adobe products. I don't recall what name Adobe calls it but I pay $49.95 a month. Now to the direct point. In early versions of Muse the toolbar and sub menus were never a problem. The newer version of Muse & Photoshop, the menu (toolbar) is so small I am almost to the point of giving up. Yes I'm damn near old, yes I wear glasses, yes I have my screen size set at 150% and yes my screen resolution is set as recommended at 2560 x 1440. Muse v7.4, Build 30, CL 784238 seems to run as expected.
In Photoshop Version 2014.10 the toolbar is almost impossible for me to see. I will be looking for an older version of this program hoping it is as it should be. I thank you for your time. The below example is from Photoshop but it and Muse are the same.

Other users in these Forums have also commented and complained many times before of the same problems you are having, but the outcome was that Apple has NOT yet designed in a solution for those problems into OS X.  Sorry

  • Can anyone tell me how to increase the text size in my menu bar and drop down menus?

Just bought a new 27" screen iMac.  The menu bar and drop down menu text is much to small for me to see without leaning close to the screen.  Does anyone know how to customize the text to a larger size.  This is an issue for any program I open.

Once upon a time Apple displays packed in 72 dots to an inch (making their resolution 72 DPI). That meant that what we saw on screen at 100% scale was exactly what was printed on a printer - not to mention quite comfortable to read. However that advantage was eclipsed by the fact that photopgraphs and video were pixelated and the only solution to that was to increase the resolution - to pack in more dots per inch - which has the side effect of shrinking the size of text. Where I once used Word at 100% scale I now find it most comfortable at 150% scale.
There are several solutions. One, as Lex gave you, was to reduce the resolution of the LCD display. But unlike CRT displays, an LCD is tuned to a specific resolution and when you change it the results tend to be blurry. Another is to keep the resolution as it is and to adjust each program (if the program allows it). This makes Word usable and your browser can be set to use no font smaller than a size you set (which has some unpleasant side affects at some Web sites), but some programs and some parts of programs cannot be changed. The menubar and menus are among them. The third solution is one that Apple promised several years ago but has not yet provided - a resolution independant GUI. We can only hope that comes soon. And there's another partial solution - look in System Preferences under Accessibility.

  • Console font & screen size

    Hi folks,
Is anybody aware of a way to change the font and/or the screen size when working in console mode on an x86 system? By console mode, I'm referring to an environment without X/JDS/CDE.
    Cheers,
    Tim

I had a hard time understanding what you mean, but to clarify: you mean that the rendered image of the screen does not fit the physical screen in some way and is cropped at the bottom? is it fine in X?
maybe you should try using a framebuffer and use another resolution for console. try to add vga=791 or something (there's a handy table in /boot/grub/menu.lst) at the end of your kernel command line.
