Screen Static only appears on internet window, otherwise, fine.

Any applications other than the internet appear fine, like desktop screen and even games running off a disk, but every browser I've tried has the same problem, firefox included. When a webpage is completely still, snowy appearance remains static (but is still there), but when something like video is played, snow appearance is very active. Interestingly, on this page, with the only movement being the flashing of the line in front of the text I'm typing, each time the line flashes, the static jumps right in time with the flash of the bar. Sorry if this is a little confusing, but I can't find anyone talking about this when i search this problem. The problem did occur on the desktop until i changed the color from 32 bit to 16 (true color), so this probably has something to do with the issue, but I can't figure out how to correct this problem on internet pages.

Note that such issues can be a temperature problem with components on the graphics display card overheating.
This can also be a problem with hardware acceleration in a browser that uses the GPU on the graphics display card for specific action.
Plugins can use the graphics display card as well for hardware acceleration.

I was in the process of editing a video and the screen when to random lines. After a restart, the computer is fine, but iMovie won't start up anymore. When iMovie is launched there is only a blank grey window that is shown. The menus are still accessable from the top of the screen, but the window never changes. I have a MacBook Air with an Intel HD 3000 graphics card. To clarify, I was able to install and use iMovie 10.0. Something happened while I was working in the program and iMovie crashed. Now when I launch iMovie I only get a grey window, that typically would have shown the library of projects and preview screen.
In old school Mac, there were preference files that could be corrupt and might need to be deleted. But, I'm unfamiliar with all the extra files that have been installed when iMovie was installed.

Windows moving spontaneously to the screen bottom - only title bar visible

I have this odd behavior on my MBP after installing Lion. I'll be replying to a message in Mail or moving a window in finder ... and suddenly the window disappears. Sometimes I find it down at the bottom left of the screen, with only the title bar showing. Other times, it will "walk" to the bottom of the screen on its own ... a "stutter step at a time," while I try in vain to stop it.
In Mail, this will tend to happen if I start typing in the reply before the Genie has openened the message all the way. In the Finder, it seems to happen if I move a window too quickly to the edge of a screen or across to my second monitor.
It's slightly maddening, and a real waste of time as I watch helplessly as windows march their way to the bottom of the screen. Any help is much appreciated.

Hmmm ... Replying to my own message.
After booting into safe mode, and seeing no problem, I began adding back my login items one at a time.
It appears that the issues is with MenuEverywhere and 10.7 or 10.7.1. Disable ME and all is well.

When downloading is complete, I can not see, run, nor access the file; it only appears in the "Downloads" window (and not the specified folder) and the only options permitted are to delete it, or to go to the download web site; what's blocking it?

I have a similar problem when accessing .zip files that are attachments to my emails. Here, however, I can place the file in a designated folder, however, the .zip file and it's compressed content files are file-typed as "FireFox Document" and I get permissions errors when running an unzip tool.
Why are my download files being quarantined ??? Is there a security setting option I need to change???
To get around this, I'm using IE to download and install these files, but switching back & forth between FireFox & IE is a real pain.

Is it possible that you are not seeing the thirteenth song because you did not scroll all the way down within the playlist?

After login I get a blue screen and then back to login window, but only for one account

When one of the users on the iMac tries to login it goes to a blue screen and back to the login window. This only happens with one of the users - I've tried doing a safe boot, running disk utility, and using Time Machine to restore the user's libray back to pre-problem timetable. When I run repair permissions I do gt a SUID file "usr/sbin/vpnd" and "usr/sbin/pppd" have been modified. Any ideas?

Source Safe causing LabVIEW Quick Start Screen to not appear after closing open vi windows?

Hey All,
We've recently implemented Source Safe version control for LabVIEW on XP and I've noticed that LabVIEW is hanging between closing open vi windows and showing the Quick Start Screen. The usual pattern is for the Quick Start window to appear after the last open vi window is closed. Instead the vi window is closed, the tab at the bottom of the screen says debug development and the Quick Start Screen does not appear, the tab does not read "Getting Started."
I think it is a LabVIEW <--> Source Safe issue when I do a Task Manager Exit on the LabVIEW process that I sometimes see a dialog box asking if I want to save changes in memory to disc and those files are not checked out. But it is too late at that point to do anything as XP clobbers the application before I can do anything.
Anyone else have this issue?

How can i make the internet windows cover the whole screen?

My new macbook brings up a small internet window, and it's not the easiest to see, although the type and quality is good. I have tried changing the display under system preferences, but that makes the quality less. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am new to apple products so any hints would be gratefully received!

This applies to the windows for all Mac applications, including your browser. If you look in the top left corner of the window you will see three dots -- red, yellow and green. The red dot closes the window, yellow minimizes, and the green dot will cause the window to enlarge (though not always to full screen). If the window doesn't go to full screen, you can enlarge it further by dragging the bottom right corner of the window (you'll see something that looks like a page corner that has been folded back).

One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

Sorry, but I have already tried this too and verified that the web addresses are listed as Allow, rather than Block. After restart there was no difference, I still get the disappearing pop-up windows.

Have you heard of any issues like this occurring based on the number of tabs that are open in Firefox?
Just a thought, even though I have not heard of this as an issue before. I keep about 80 tabs open regularly, because of research that I am always conducting (I am a blogger, a writer/author, a technophile-especially Green Tech.,), email, work, etc.?
I do have a check in the box for Firefox to let me know if the number of open tabs is causing slow down or other issues.

I had a similar situation. My credit card bill shows a charge on Sept 8 and Sept 9, both for $55.99. I called Apple but they said that I was the victim of identity theft so I cancelled my credit card. They have not refunded my money.
