Screen still active whilst on call and I keep pushing buttons with my face, putting it on pause, facetime etc even cutting off call
having problems when on a call, I keep touching the creen and pressing buttons, ie pause, facetime etc. have tried resetting the phone but makes no difference.
Does anyone know what the problem is??

I've made a few calls with my N8, and I'm finding that the touch-screen is still active when I hold the phone to my ear. I've accidentally hung up on people, or have inadvertently activated other apps. Is this something I can fix in tools?
The sound during calls is also very low (even at maximum volume), which compounds the above problem even more, as I push the phone closer to my ear.
If nothing else, the N8 should be able to function perfectly as a phone, and this is really frustrating - I never had this problem with other phones.
Also, on the 2nd use of the photo edit program, it took a long time to save the photo, and then the phone froze. Is anyone else having problems with this?I too fact these problems i.e touch-screen still active during phone calls leading to unintended "hold" on the calls or screens navigating else where. Yes, the side lock bar helps, but then it is not very handy way for a costly model to be designed. Even the older cheaper nokia touch screen model did not have this problem. Let NOKIA people respond to it.
Yes, the sound is too low even at the maximum. Nokia support centre plead helpless.

I recently updated my iPad to iOS 8 and still checking on the settings. When I happened to swipe on my screen for too long, it zoomed and I can no longer see what's on it. I can not even unlock it. I can not use my iPad anymore. What shall I do?
Try double tapping with three fingers and see if that reduces the screen image. If it does, unlock the iPad and go to Settings>General>Accessibility>zoom>Off. If double tapping with three fingers doesn't work, try triple tapping the home button instead.

If you have a case or screen protector then remove it and see if that solves it.
If that fails, then try the basics from the manual: Restart, reset, restore.
If these fail then make an appointment at the genius bar. -

Without having the top button, you couldn't do a hard reset.
I'd say you might be looking at backing up and restoring through iTunes unfortunatley. -

My screen has gone blank on startup and occasionally a grey folder with a question mark appears. I have tried rebooting either by pressing the start up with power or pram.. Neither attempts have worked ! My iMac is 2008. Please help :)

You have outdated iOS software so without upgrading it first there is little you can do. A restore will force you to upgrade as 5.1.1 is no longer signed.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

iTunes may not be showing the files. Please check in explorer to verify they are actually gone. There are many reported instances of iTunes losing track of files even when they are still there.

Exactly how are you trying to restore form TM?
Have you tried rebuilding your iPhoto library?
And your comments indicate that you may not understand iPhoto at all - you should not be inside the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it - and iPhoto does not duplicate photos - more details of yoru work flow would help sort this out

I have Windows 8.1 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina (Late 2013) and it keeps on crashing with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSOD error. Is this an issue with the bootcamp driver not compatible with Windows 8.1? or is there something I can do to fix this.

Is it possible to have a playlist that excludes the explicit songs without doing it one by one and that keeps it updated with purchases?

Thanks for any advice (other than buy a new computer!)Not fully automatically, no. iTunes doesn't expose the clean/explicit status to the smart playlist system, but if you're prepared to take a few seconds to tag new purchases, say by adding the keyword Explict into the grouping field, then it will be easy to create smart playlists that exclude those tracks. I use a similar scheme to tag tracks so they they go into seperate playlists for each member of the family, E,g, a grouping of Alice/Bob will go into each of Alice's & Bob's playlists, but not Charlie's.
