Screen stuck magnified

Daughter was watching a movie and brushed the screen which magnified everything. She pushed the home button to try and fix but now the screen is stuck in the magnified way. I rebooted but it just popped back up in the magnified way.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if I disable zoom does that mean I can zoom on ANY programs like pictures / web pages etc?
Disabling Zoom disables the three-fingered double-tap zoom. Applications that zoom by spreading two fingers (such as Mail, Photo, and Safari) will still zoom by that method.

It's normal that the things on the screen will change size when you change resolution. A 64x64 icon on the desktop will be a very different size at 800x600 than at 1280x960.
You didn't say which MacBook Pro you have, so I don't know what the native resolution of the screen is (ie, the number of physical pixels in the screen), but it will be whatever the highest resolution is (bottom of the list, biggest numbers).

How to power off when screen is magnified

You have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers to turn it off. Go into Settings > General > Accessibility to disable it.

Shift key boots into Safe Mode, not Recovery.
This only works on a Mac running v10.7 Lion or later.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to repair the startup disk and restore OS X using OS X Recovery

You could reboot your device by pressing the home button + power button at the same time for about 10 sec. until it shuts down and restarts again.

Check your Magic Mouse preferences. There's a preference for zooming the screen in Safari similar to the double tap zoom for iOS devices. You can change that configuration.

Problem solved! I had to go to the local Apple Store and they just restored it back to factory settings. Then just used my backup from iCloud to put it back just how it was. Thanks for your input!

Issue related to startup black screen stuck

I grasp that after doing an recovery you are stuck on the command prompt screen.
I suggest you do a hard reset. Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset.

Ipod touch 2g stuck magnified

I just barely got this ipod today.Everything was fine then I downloaded the newest software while the ipod was charging. When I pulled the touch off of the sync cable the screen was magnified. Its magnified no matter which screen you're in and pinching the screen wont do anything. I can however scroll by holding down on a articular corner of the screen. Can somebody tell me how to unmagnify this I pod so I can use it? Thanks in advance.

IPads home screen locked magnified

My iPad has been working fine for weeks and then about 20 minutes ago I opened it up to do some work and as soon as I typed in my pass code the entire screen became magnified. I am on the home screen right now and the icons are so large that only 4 of them (Youtube, Settings, Photos, and Contacts) can fit on the screen at one time. I have not installed anything today or done any activities out of the ordinary.
I have tried a power button reset and no luck. Tried a Home button + power button reset and that also failed. Any suggestions?

My husband took his MacBook Pro into the Apple store for this problem a few weeks ago, but the blue/gray screen stuck on startup is back.
We stabilized the system last time from running diagnostic utilities (Apple, Onyx) in safe mode. Is there anything else we should be doing for self help? He's upgraded to Mountain Lion and made all OS updates. Advice is welcome.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
