I have used LR 5 before and yesterday I installed LR CC. Everything seems ok but when I press develop the screen turns blue instead of showing the image. What have I done wrong? /C-O

Try updating your video driver.  If that doesn't help, see here: Re: Why do I get a blue rectangle covering photo in Develop module?

  • When I get to the login page on my macbook, I type in my password and it starts to load, but then the screen turns blue and it goes back to the login. What should I do?

I was having some problems with my mac, safari and itunes was freezing alot. I have to force shutdown and when I tried to start up again i get to the login page, type in my password and it starts to load, but then the screen turns blue for a few seconds and it goes back to the log in screen. What should I do?
    Please Help!!

    Somewhat similar problem:
Put in the password, hit enter, the screen goes blue for half a second, then goes back to login screen and carries on logging in as usual.  Drives me mad.  It doesn't happen with a fresh Lion installation, nor if booted into safe mode.  On the machine in question it also happens to new user accounts.
I've removed all login items, including Startup Items and Launch Demons (pun intended) and Agents, I've compared system login plists with a fresh Lion installation - can't see differences.  I've removed Little Snitch and PeerGuardian (no more third party kexts).
@Carolyn: I've done disk maintenance with DiskUtility and fsck and even DiskWarrior, cleaned caches, etc. etc.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Sorry for trying to hijack the thread (as it's not about Lion), but it seemed dead anyway.

Iv tryed this numerious times still keeps going back to pasword. Can not get any further. Tried restart holding shift key.. still nothing. What do i do?

    Thank you for your help.
I couldnt get to the hard drive/ desktop. Soft login not even working. So i could not do any of that.
In the end i took it to Apple and its actually the hard drive on its way out. A common issue with that series of Mac. Funny seeing i dont use this mac much. However being 2.5 years old and out of warrently, Apple have recognise this issue with this series/ Model and installing a new hard drive at no cost.
Very luck and greatful. And not feeling so dumb that it was something i did or could troubleshoot myself.
Hope this helps others that it just might be your hard drive failing.

  • I tried to update my ipod 4th gen. but when I came to see how much charge the screen was red and it wasnt charged and i cant use my ipod. the screen turned blue also one time, and now the apple logo comes up and its bright then dim and it stays there help

I tried to update my iPod 4th generation while it was charging and when I came back to check on it the screen was red and it wouldnt go off, and my ipod wasnt charging like it was supposed to. I found out how to get the color of the screen off but my ipod always has the low battery thing and when I charge it sometimes the screen turns blue or the apple logo comes up bright and then it gets dim and stays there. My ipod wont turn on, and I really want it to work again. Help me please! Also, I noticed my ipod battery hasnt been lasting long as it should efore this happened.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hello DJJOC,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To start troubleshooting this issue where your iMac's screen will not illuminate, please reset your SMC by following the information outlined below.
Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: For Intel-based Xserve computers that are not responding, you can shut down locally, or by using remote commands, or by pressing and holding the power button for five seconds.

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

  • Cursor freezes then screen turns blue....

Hi All. This is the only issue my MacPro has had in the 1.5 years or so that I've owned it. Every once in a while the cursor freezes, the screen turns blue for about 4 seconds then everything goes back to normal. It's not really a problem but it's kind of annoying. Has anyone else seen this strange behavior? I'm thinking that re-installing the OS would fix it but that seems a little drastic.
    Any ideas?

Hi, How much Free Space on your HDD?
Two ways to go on this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
    Or...
I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!
Disconnect the USB cable from any UPS so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

  • My macbook screen turns blue

when on my macbook pro, the screen turns blue all of a sudden forcing me to do a hard restart. Does this happen to anyone and how can this be resolved?
    Thanks.

Ist do you have the latest security update for Snow Leopard installed?
How were you watching the movie?  Was it using Firefox?  If so, update to the latest Firefox 10.0.1.
I had the occassional blue screen problem when quiting applications.  It was due to automatic graphic card switching.  The latest Firefox now uses the HD 3000 graphic card so there is no switching to the AMD card.  I haven't had the problem since upgrading to Firefox 10.  I think Firefox may have left something in the background running even after you think you quit it that may have contributed to the problem.  Also, there have been reports that the Feb Snow Leopard security update version 1.1 may have corrected the problem.  I have the same computer as you have and I am running 10.6.8.  You would be smart to buy Applecare to extend your warranty for 2 more years.  If a graphic card is failing,  it costs $900- $1000 to fix if no warranty (new logic board).  After I updated everything, I started up in safe mode by holding down the shift key at startup and then restarting to re-build the startup cache.  So far so good, cross my fingers.
Next time the problem happens just close the screen and allow sleep, re-open and your screen should be back, hopefully.  Turning off graphic card switching under apple, system preferences, energy, uncheck box also prevents the problem but gives you shorter battery time.
If the few thing I mentioned don't work, time to bring your computer to the Apple Store

  • My macbook shows up the apple at startup and then the screen turn blue

As I said, when I turn on my macbook, the apple appears and then the screen turns blue and stays like that.

I have a Macbook (purchased in september 2008) in India. I got a blue screen error in 2010 when it was under the Apple care protection plan. I took it to the service centre and they replaces the Logic board to sort this error. After that the blue screen error appeared in 2011, 2012 and 2013. For the past 2 years, I have taken in the macbook atleast 5 times for the same error and the service centre had been re-formatting it and giving it back to me. But the problem kept re-curring. No proper diagnosis is being given at this apple authorised service centre.
I finally called up Apple tech support, who made me give the machine back to the same centre. Techsupport asked them to perform some check measures and finally decided that the OS being installed in my machine was the wrong one.
So the Service centre installed the original one from the CDs I had.
But this is no resolution as no one is willing to comment on this service measure nor is there any assurance that this will not happen again.
I have spent more than 15,000 rupees on the repairs for the past 2 years and am fed up of this.
I came to know from an Apple source that in the US, Apple has no "repair" policy and in the event of such a case, replaces the machine.
Can anyone here guide me on this please?
I will be grateful for any and every input.
The Apple authorised service centre is TRESOR SYSTEMS in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
    thanks a tonne
