Screen Variant , user has dif field than others

Hello All,
I have three questions, which are related to each
1-I wonder what is the differences between Screen variant(IE FB50 you can define screen variant) and user parameter SU3 or SU01D as in
SPRO Tcode O7E6 based on some FB50 Field( GL entry ) you can define user parameter and select Field for
Also as third one we can define variant for tcode under SHD0, I thought if you create the Var under
this option it should be available in FB50 as well -which they are- but when I am
looking at FB50 variant selection I can see more than what I can find under
SHD0, why is that?
2- I have user that her screen in FB50 is different than
anybody else, her screen columns are few (she doesn’t have Value date Field), I
asked her to reset the screen var(over phone) but seems she still has issue. Any
help please?
3- I copy her ID from Prod to QA; I have all column and Field
that she is looking for not sure if user parameter or screen var comes when basis
refresh QA from Prod

    Transaction code : <b>SHD0</b>
    First you have to create a screen variant.
    Second you want tp assign the screen variant to the
    transaction variant.
    thrid you can assign it to the specific user in the
    standard variant.
   so that particular user only will be having that screen variant.

SHD0 Maintain Screen Variant in Variant Transaction

Hi all,
I would like to know how tom maintain screen variant in variant transaction ?
I created a variant of MM01 using SHD0, the recording gived me as much screen variant as screen maintained during record session, this works perfectly.
The problem is when I want to maintain an already created screen variant : I try to hide Basic Data View fields that was not initally hidden. I do change the field "invisible" for the basic date fileds I would like to hide. I save the screen variant changes.
It seems to work but when I try to test the transaction variant, hidden fields remain visibles ...
do you have an idea of that problem ?

thanks for answer but unfortunately, it won't help.
I already found how to record a transaction, create a transaction variant and associated screen variants and it works. The thing that doesn't works is, after all these steps, when I try to maintain the screen variant because I have to do change something.
IN my case, I created the screen variant with some visible fields on basic Views of material master but now, I want to change it because some fields has to be invisible.
So I go to SHD0 and maintain screen variant. Check the value "unvisible" for required fileds and save.
Next, I launch transaction variants where the screen variants was used but the fields remain visible ...

How do can I have the form fill in a check box if the user has entered text in a textbox?

I have a form that is submitting an xml data file that is picked up by MS Word and used to populate a document. However, there's a 'Miscellaneous' field where the user can type in addtional information that would not drop easily into the Word document (exceptions, items not on the drop down lists, etc.). I'd like to test to see if that Miscellaneous field has infomation in it and if it does, to set a invisible checkbox to "1" so that I can insert a text message in the Word document that there's additional information in the .pdf form that will have to be addressed manually in the Word document.
I've tried
if(Misc.rawValue !== "")
otherinfo.rawValue = 1;
but while it doesn't generate a Javascript error, it doesn't set the value either, and I haven't found any function that checks for whether a field is empty. I'm sure there's got to be a way to do this, but I'm stumped. Any help greatly appreciated!

It appears you are using LiveCycle Designer, so you will have to use the syntax of FormCalc or LiveCycle Designer JavaScript.
For FormCalc:
if(HasValue(Misc)) then
otherinfo = 1
else
otherinfo = 0
endif
For JavaScript
if(HasValue(Misc.rawValue))
otherinfo.rawValue = 1;
else
otherinfo.rawValue = 0;
I added code to clear the check box if the user clears the field.

Transport a display variant ( screen variant )

I have copied a standard display variant (screen variant to choose the fields on output) to Z variant with some more fields added into it.
I need to tranport this Zvariant to the production system

Is it possible to create a variable that tells you which slides the user has visited?

Hi there.
I'm working on a project where I want a slide to show a continue button and hide 2 textboxes, but ONLY when the user has already visited 2 other slides. I can only find variables that tell you the slide the user previously visited.
Is it possible to set up a variable that does this?
I want to create the following advanced action:
If the user has visited slides 62 AND 87, show image_536 and hide text_caption_243 and text_caption_242
I don't want the action to happen if only 1 of the 2 slides have been visited - it has to happen when both have been visited.
Hope that makes sense.

You will need two variables, it can be booleans. I'll label them v_one and v_two with a default value of 0
Since I don't know how the slides are formatted, do you use a Next button or are all the slide frames visited? You'll need to have an event on those two slides to trigger an action:
Assign v_one with 1     on slide 62
And a similar action on the other slide to toggle v_two (do not use the toggle command, if the user visits a slide twice, it would be toggled back to 0).
You didn't specify where those text containers have to be (please, label your objects and slides)? But you'll need conditional advanced action triggered by another event somewhere:
   IF v_one is equal to 1   AND
       v_two is equal to 1

IH01 default screen variant for all users

Hi,
I want location hierarchy, equipment installed and BOM explosion checked in the transaction IH01 for all users. I can do this through a screen variant but the user will have to choose it every time he enters this transaction. Is there a way that the above fields default as checked everything a user enters the t-code? I looked for it in SPRO and could not find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if the variant you have created is the only one available then it will display to all the user,but the if some other variant is there with user name then it will be displayed for the user logged on .
only thing is don't authorize the user to create the variant
from SAP help:
Each user can also create their own selection screen. The selection screen defined by you is only then proposed by the system, if no individual selection screen has been defined for the user under their user name.
If you want to define an individual selection screen for each user, and the user-specific selection screen should be proposed automatically when the report is called up, the name of the report variant must begin with U_USERNAME.
Maintenance of selection variants
When you execute the function, you reach the initial screen with all the selection fields. There you can define the standard selection screen. This selection screen is then always proposed if no individual selection screen has been defined for the user under the name U_USERNAME.

User Specific VA01 Screen variant (item overview tab first then sales tab)

One of my user wants to see more number of line items on the sales order creation screen. Is it possible to create user specific screen variant? Like bringing item over view tab first and then sales tab at VA01 screen for one particular user.

you have two solutions for your issue.
1. please check the resolution of your desk top which you are working.
2. SAP has fixed the screens like that onlly so please write to SAP if there is any solution on this they will provide because no enhancements or developments or no programs i think we can do that.

DAQ+storage must happen independent of other screens OR user interaction

I have a problem here.
Program has 3 screens
screen 1
To save user entered parameters. Example - acquisition period value, data storage location, averaging
screen 2
-data acquisition(DAQ) takes place
-graphs are displayed for user
-additional user parameter selection (user selected momentary temperature acquisition)
screen 3:
Zoomed displays of graphs user has selected from screen2 graphs
Problem:
When I go from screen2 to screen1/screen3 , data acquisition should not stop. It must continue.
And the user entered parametrs on screen1 must be immediately effective in screen2 (DAQ + storage part)
What is the best Tree structure? How should be interdependability? 'tab'
control won't work and I guess neither event structure would. I have LabVIEW 7.0
Since this is basic part of program structure, once begun , it's hard to modify the basic frame.

The best way to implement this is using a background VI for DAQ+storage. Load this VI from your main VI with Open VI Reference and start the VI with the Invoke node Run VI. Use a named queue to send data from your UI VI to the background VI. Use a strict typedef for the data to transfer over the queue. This way the background VI will get the configuration information. Use another named queue or a named notifier to send the aquired data from the background VI to the UI VI. Notifiers have the advantage that more than one reader can receive the data but if he is to slow he will loose data. Queues don't loose data but you can have only one reader. If screen3 is a subVI of screen2 it can also create a named queue with the same name as in screen2 and read the dat
a. If screen3 is closed screen2 will read the data but the data read by screen3 will be missing. If you don't want this you have to load screen3 and run it with Run VI and screen2 has to forward the data to screen3 over another named queue.
Look for Bens example of who to run UI VIs independently. You only need to add the fourth VI for the DAQ+storage and the queue to communicate between the VIs and of course the code and controls to do the things you want.

I have created one Screen Variant for TCode VL02N. It is very well working if executing with SHD0.
Now, I want that, if any particular user say XYZ executes VL02N, then VL02N should be executed with the variant I created, for that user.
Plz. tell me what to do for this....any authorization object needs to create or is there any other way out.

I have a requirement to make REASON field required if user has changed the value in SALARY field. Is it possible using spel? what are my options?

You can change the Rendered Property through personalization.
But in your requirement you need to attach the Spell through personalization & extend the existing CO to set the value of the SPELL based upon the condition.

Text Field is not displaying in MIRO , Screen Variant SHD0

All Experts.
In my client TEXT field is not there in MIRO T.code. I heard Screen Variant can be a good option for adding field in MIRO.
Or is there any work around to bring TEXT ( SGTXT ) field in MIRO ?
I gone through the already posted threads regarding this, unfortunately no any perfect solution found.

Hi,
Go to SHD0 and enter transaction code as MIRO
Then in first tab "Standard variant", sub tab "Standard Variants", do F4 on the field "Name"
You will get the list of the standard Variants for MIRO.
Then select one of them and press enter. It the "Activate Match Stick" is enables, that means that standard variant is not activated yet. Similarily check for other standard variants of MIRO.
If all the standard variant have "Activate Match Stick" enabled, then SAP MIRO should be showing SGTXT as a part of standard SAP.

How do I get specific font to ALWAYS appear in text field whether user has font on computer or not?

I am designing a simple form to be used as template for OTHER people to type up room signs. We would like the signs to be in a specific font that is not generally loaded on the average computer, and we do not want to have to distribute fonts to a gazillion people. My thought was to create a LiveCycle from, whereby the room user could type their name and title in the text fields on the form, and in theory, it would appear in the font I chose for the text field. I have tried various things, but it always gets substituted by the user's computer.
Tried: Choosing "rich text" for field format in Object palette; choosing "Embed fonts" in "Save Options"; tried static form, tried dynamic form. It could be that my test user has such an old version of Reader that it just CANNOT work.

The restrictions are listed as "normal." And it does appear as embedded when I go to the document properties, though it didn't until I used it for the text on the form (as apposed to just using in the text fields.) And when another user opens the form, the text appears in the specified font, but once they type in the text field, it defaults to different font.
BTW, it is an Open Type Font, if that makes any difference.
