Screen Video-Capture?

Guys,
Except from this SnapZ Pro X (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/), which software, eventually free, can you recommend to capture to a video file what the screen or one application in particular is displaying?
Thank you in advance.

Snapz is by far and away the very best of the bunch, IMO. However, have a look at ScreenRecord:

  • IPhone Screen Video Capture?

I'm wondering what the best way is to capture video from an iPhone 4 screen for app demonstration purposes. I did some looking around and it seems the best way is to use an screen capture program, such as Screen Flow in conjunction with an iPhone simulator.
Is there a video capture app that works directly on the iPhone, or can someone recommend a good screen capture/simulator combo?
    Thanks!

I believe you'll need to be a registered developer in order to gain access to the tools necessary to do that.

  • Screen video capturing

    Hello
How can I video capture my Mac's screen? I know that we can screen capture, is there a way to video capture as well?
    Thanks

QuickTime Player has "New Screen Recording" in its "File" menu. Click the triangle at the right of the recording window to select the audio inout. To get system audio, you need to install Soundflower.

  • Screen video capture with VLC command lines

    Hi,
I need to do a program in LabVIEW that saves a video of my screen. I want it to open VLC by sending a command line and then start/stop the acquisition when I press a button. How could I do that? I didn't find the command lines to tell VLC to start the screen video acquisition... Can anyone help me and tell me what should I write in the command lines? Thanks for help!!

Look up the help on the command line program then use the system exec to run that.  I'd start by figuring out what you need to do with an empty command prompt to play with.
Also I've seen others do this same thing using ActiveX which VLC installs.

  • Screen/Video Capture app?

Looking for a good video/screen capture application for desktop/application live-capturing.
I started playing Minecraft and found that I wanted to start a Let's Play series on YouTube but realized I don't have the applications to do so.  Anyone recommend a good App out there (preferrably already in Mac App Store as I have money on my account), otherwise other options are secondary.
    Thanks abound.
I apologize if I'm not comepletely clear - have had a long day - hope you understand my question.

Screenflow. IMHO the best one out there. I use it to record tutorials. Allows for extensive augmentation, annotation and editing of the screen recording.

They have a free trial, I believe.

Thanks for the link.  I took a quick look, and for $100 is quite steep, but then again I DID get the App card for free.

  • How to screen video capture my iphone screen?

Hi is there a possibility to record my iphones screen on video mode? most likely Androids have this app? Why apple always needs to be complicated. I need this app anyone knows???

Im not going to be a great help as im on OS X, bit Ill have a go:
For a number of reasons, iTunes and the iPod/iPhone only support a handful of types of video file. Mainly a file type called .mp4 which is normally h.264 with embeded metadata. This isnt a special Apple video file, and as long as it doesnt have DRM, can be played on many modern devices such as the Xbox360, PSP, PS3 etc.
The only limiting thing you have to watch out for is the resolution of the video as some devices will not be able to play the higher resolution content such as a 1080p HDTV stream on an iPhone, it just wont play!
So what you need to do, if you have videos in many different file types such as realplayer, wmv, and avi etc, you need top convert them to mp4, and then optionally add cover art and tag the file with show name etc.
None of this is built in, partly because Apple wants you to buy content rather than get it elsewhere, and partly as itts a little more complicated than making an mp3 at the moment.
On my Mac I use a program called Handbrake (free) that can rip from DVD to an iphone version, and a program called VisualHub that can convert just about any video type to iphone format. After encoding the video, i use a program called MetaX to correctly tag the video fiels so that they are easy to find in iTunes and so that I can make smart playlists etc. Do this and the files in iTunes act just like if you had purchased them from the store.
Now, I dont know whats good for Windows, but I did a google search and found this which is free and for Windows:
    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
For tagging, this may be ok:

Also, I just found this guide which goes into more detail if you want it:

    Good luck!

  • Recommendations for Video Capture Software?

    Hi,
I'm looking for screen/video capture software to record what's on my macbook screen in video format. I've been looking at Camtasia, but wanted to know if there are any other alternatives I should consider as well?
I need something that will record what I do on my macbook screen, as well as let's me annotate and edit what's been recorded. Any recommendations?
    Thanks!

This is a bit strange with apple servers today. For some strange reason, there seems to be a 5-10 min. delay in my post on this one thread only ....very weird.
Oh well, I'll post the info again in hope that it sticks ....
You can capture to iMovie which is what I suggest or directly to iDVD6 (via 1 step or magic iDVD). Your choice.

  • Video capture screen cut off at the top

I am waiting for my new elements 9 to show up on the licensing page, and perhaps this will solve the problem I am having in version 3 (I know, but like I said I am upgrading!) but I would like to import some video from tape and I have a problem I have never seen before.  When I open the video capture page all is well except the top menu portion is cut off which presents a huge problem since the button to go back to the main page when import is complete is not there.  The only way out is good old alt-cntl-del to close the whole program.  Does anybody know how to fit the screen so everything shows?  All my other applications fit perfectly.  Its been getting bigger and bigger for the last week but until now I had the very bottom of the icon to click on.  Cant wait for 9, not sure why it takes so much time to make it available for download and licensing...

Quicktime regularly updates so I assume I have the latest.  I do have  3.02 and I just called up the program to get the version I am running  and I see the problem has gone away.  I now see the whole screen and am  able to grab the edges and adjust the size,  go figure...  I am still  waiting for my version 9, I expect this problem will not show up again  once I update.  Thanks for the help!

  • Capturing on screen video

Does anyone know whether apple has an application to capture on screen video?
I know about the "Grab" application that allows the user to capture elements of the screen.
Is there an application that would capture on screen video?

There is an app called 'Display Eater' which I have used for demonstrating some issues I have had while beta testing an application, this should be able to record onscreen activity but I don't know the quality of a recording of a movie.
Remember to respect copyright on anything you might want to record.

  • Capturing HD Screen videos

Hi, I want to create training videos similar to what Apple has done with their iLife 09 videos. Does anyone know what software can be used to capture HD screen capture VIDEOS? I know that I can use grab for images, but I am looking for video capture (to be used for system demonstrations) in HD. I tried SnagIt and Camtasia but the quality is not that great.
    Thanks,
    Fernando

I have always used Snapz Pro (Ambrosia Software) for screen capture; it works very well for standard video. I expect it work equally well for HD.
    Here's a link: http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/

  • I get a black capture screen (preview), but video captures fine.  What gives?

I get a black capture screen when capturing with CS6 on a Windows 7 machine.  I'm capturing through Firewire from DV tape, via the VCR function of a Canon XL2 camera.  I have tried restarting, etc.; also toggled the "preview video" radio from the Settings button in the capture Window.  Nothing works and I need to be able to preview my video as I'm capturing.  It is not good enough that the video actually captures fine.  Also, I am forced to turn off Device Control in order to capture because it kicks me out of every capture (an immediate message of : "no frames captured") unless I do.  Please help.

I'm not familiar with the process of rolling back to a previous update and I assume that is what you are suggesting?  It looks like I'm running 6.05.  Are you suggesting I roll all the way back to 6.00 past 6.04. 6.03, etc? And if I do roll back, does that mean I have to completely uninstall and reinstall CS6 first?  That would be a royal pain.
A little more updated info:  It's not just in attempting to capture from a DV tape that I get the black capture screen, but the live firewire signal is also black, though again it actaully captures just fine, I just cannot monitor the screen while doing it.
And it's definitely not something physical, like a bad firewire cable, because I also have the old 2.0 version of Premiere installed on the same machine so I tried an experiment:   I open CS6, then open the capture screen (which of course remains black).  So I close CS6 and open 2.0 and then open the capture window.  It too is black.  But if I restart my machine and open 2.0 without first opening CS6, and then open the capture window, the display is just fine.  So obviosuly some service from CS6 is remaining open when I close it and thus affecting 2.0.
This problem is really starting to irritate me.

  • Capturing screen video for demo

Does anyone know of a technique or inexpensive software
product to make a screen video I can use in a flash version.
I can convert QT to flash, etc. This also has to be Mac OS
and hopefully have a sound component. Macromedia has Captivate but
    is pricy.
    Thanks

If "free" also categorize as inexpensive than yes:

  • Seeing "static" while video capture screen is active

Recently I'm getting static in my video capture window. The signal coming in is showing "interference." I'm working with a Kona LS card. This isn't a pixel issue from dirty heads on my DVCAM deck. It's small white vertical dashes appearing randomly all over the frame... like static. I'm worried it might be a wire going bad. Sometimes moving the wire bundle in back will correct the problem. The system is 4 years old now so who knows. Just wanted to see if anyone had the same experience. Thanks.

Try reseating the card. Get some compressed air to blow out the slot while the card is out. Might just be a bit of dirt or a card that needs to be re-seated.
