Screen weird pixels?

Hi guys, I recently use adobe after effects cs6
It works completely well until 2 weeks ago, whenever i tried to open new composition regardless of the resolution, there's weird noise/pixels present in the screen. As you can see in the black background image, theres present of tiny "noise" and it got worse whenever i tried to use pen/ mask tool
BTW, im using intel core i5-3337U with 8 g RAM
Thanks in advance!

What changed? This looks like a graphics driver issue. Did you install anything new? Have you tried trashing your AE preferences file? Did you recently run any updates? Are you using the latest version of After Effects. Did you try turning off adaptive resolution (3rd icon from the right at the bottom of the composition window)? What are your GPU settings?

hello, have you set any other dpi value in your operating system than the default one (96dpi)? more information about that is available at http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/display_use_large_or_small_fonts.mspx

  • T420i Graphics Card issue (weird pixels on screen)

    I have a brand new T420i with Nvidia NVS4200M, i7 2670 QM, 8GB RAM, 128 SSD ( operating system and softwares) and a 500GB 7200RPM HDD. Also using Win7 64bit.
I use a View Sonic 2270VX IPS external monitor at 1080p resolution, with a displayport to HDMI cable.
The problem I have is, when browsing the web, using photoshop and Rhino ( CAD ), I get these weird colored pixels.

When I am only using a VGA cable, this doesn't happen. This doesn't happen on my laptop screen as well.
I updated my Nvidia driver to the latest on Lenovo's website ( version: 9.18.13.1100).
At first I was told that it could be the cable, but since I can make a screen cap of it, it shouldn't be just the cable or monitor. What else can I do to resolve this? It gets annoying because I do a lot of graphic related work.

Thanks Jin. I will have to try this and use it for a while to see which one is it. The weird pixels don't come out all the time. I will use one setting for a few days first to see how it performs. Right now, I am running on discrete card. At first the pixels came back but they are gone now, so I am not certain yet. Thanks again, I will come back with updates.

Having an intermittent issue where my iMac blanks out on me. On restarting I get several bands running down the screen with pixels jumping around within the bands, then the white screen of death and nothing... This happens intermittently and usually restarts OK. Happened again three days ago and wouldn't restart for two days (again the bands/pixels etc) but now operating fine? Any ideas whats wrong with my iMac and what the solution may be? Also gets very hot from time to time, particularly if I'm playing music/watching youtube/movies for extended periods. Mac is 3.5 years old, running OS X 10.6.8, processor 3.4 GHz i7 memory 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3

If you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment to have the computer tested. Supposedly there is no charge for testing. Use 2nd link if not near an Apple Store or aren’t in the US.

  • Emac freeze screen and pixels

i have an emac on 10.3.9 and it started having pixel problems, where when you dragged a box around the screen some pixels would freeze. now when you drag a window around the whole emac freezes.
it doesent seem to happen when i boot up in a safe boot.
does anyone know what this is a sign of and how i fix it?
    thanks,
    p.

The eMac has a CRT, not an LCD, therefore there are no pixels. It sounds like the video driver has been corrupted, and unfortunately the only way to remedy this is by doing an archive and install of the system.
Plus, you haven't said which model you have or how much RAM. It could be a sign of low memory coupled with a system problem.

  • MacBook Pro screen gets pixelated (see screenshot)

When swiching among applications my screen gets pixelated,
this issue has been happening after installed Yosemite 3 weeks ago.
I also had other issues which took my Macbook Pro to the Apple care support and got the motherboard and graphics card replaced
(it was still covered by my Apple Care Protection Plan).
Nonetheless this problem persists.... and the warranty expired meanwhile....
I am starting to panic because this was supposed to have been fixed by the Apple support last intervention (which took me there twice)....
    What should I do?
    Thanks for your advice,

    SLEEP WAKE FAILURE
My early 2011 15” MBP started having a problem recently when waking from sleep after about 4hrs. I put it to sleep from the menu. Console says “Sleep Wake Failure”. Login field is frozen. I have a 27” display connected via thunderbolt-DVI. If I disconnect thunderbolt port and USB’s before putting it sleep seems to help

  • Weird pixels on start up screen

I did a DIY ram upgrade from 4g to 16g on MacBook Pro 17" (mid 2012 model). Everything is fine, but I now get a weird little block of pixels on the grey start up screen. It lasts 2 seconds, and goes away, but otherwise seems ok. Could this be symptomatic of some other issue? Just kind of concerns me when there's some little glitch like, even if it's benign.
Belowe is a screen shot. This shows up just after the Apple Logo screen on start up.

    Early 2011 Model
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video.  Affected computers were manufactured between April 2010 and February 2011.
Worth a call to Apple Care to determine if you qualify for a free repair.  Especially if you do not have Apple Care Protection Plan.
P.S.  Just saw that you have the 17".  I would still call.

  • Powerbook screen - weird fuzzy flickering pixels

    Hi
We have a Powerbook that has suddly developed a problem with its screen.
At random times, red/pink shimmering pixels will appear.
    Here's a photo of the screen: http://www.v12digital.com/powerbookg4screen.jpg
They will just appear at randon, and can stay for a few seconds, or until the computer is rebooted.
I ran an extended hardware test, and everything passed. I've also reinstalled OS X 10.4 using the Erase & Install option.
This seemed to fix it, but about an hour later, the fuzzy pixels appears again.
I've seen other messages about weird screens, but they're all different to this.
I would appreciate any help with this. Any ideas as to what it could be?
    Thanks.

    Greetings ...
I'm no expert so can't suggest much. I have just noticed that my pixel and screen issue although recent (past 3 months) aren't nearly as severe or consistent as others in the forum. I notice the issue perhaps more when operating on battery power, text iChats, and when I have many applications open/running. My inquires lead me to believe that high temperatures have caused issues with other brand laptops. However I'm still not convinced its software and hardware related.
I have recently downloaded the iStat Menus from the Apple downloads page (free) http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/istatmenus.html. I chose the menu bar option, however there are two others to choose from including a widget. With this little utility you can monitor fan speed, temperature, cpu usage among other parameters. My fans are capable of spinning up to 2800+ RPM which I believe is adequate for cooling.
Next I downloaded Andrea Fabrizi's G4 Fan Control http://www.andreafabrizi.it/g4fancontrol/. A small (free) utility that allows you to see the temperatures of each CPU sensor and the temperature at which the fans are set to begin cooling. Best of all you can select different temperatures (lower/higher via a slider type control) for the fans to begin working, or as I've done when working in Illustrator and Photoshop while streaming music ... just slid the fan controls all the way to the left turning the fans on max rpm/cooling. I watched the cpu temp drop from 144˚F to 116˚F in about 60 seconds which is amazing. The default settings only allowed the fans to spool up to 1700 RPM which provided cooling, but nothing to drop the temps more than a few degrees. It took much higher temps to get the fans to spool up to 2800 RPM. Now I run my laptop at very "cool to the touch" temperatures.
I still have not discovered if the pixel problem is related to heat, however, I have direct control over the laptops temperature which in itself has made it more comfortable to use and hopefully will extend the life of its components.
Hope this info is helpful in diagnosing your issues ...
    Cheers

  • Weird pixel behavior @ the bottom of the screen

A black line then a transparent line, building a shadow at the bottom of the screen. I researched for that and maybe i thought that it could be dead pixels, but i think it's not, because i guess dead pixels are red, green or blue.
have you guys seen this before?
PS i didn't restore it yet. Would it fix it?

    Hi xlipe,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are seeing unexpected lines on your iPhone 5 screen, try these steps first:
    Display image issues
This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
    From:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
If the lines do not go away, I would recommend backing up and restoring your iPhone.
First, use the steps in this article to back up the device to iCloud or using iTunes:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
After the back up is complete, restore the device using the steps found here:

    Best,

  • Weird Pixel-like pattern on startup screen - Desktop never appears

When i restart my computer (iMac G5 purchased in November 2005, i have no AppleCare Program), there's a strange pattern on my monitor, over the apple logo:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ladyluck/IMG_1175.jpg
the desktop never appears, the pattern still stays there, but i can move my mouse around the screen no problem.
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ladyluck/IMG_1165.jpg
when i let the computer fall asleep and i woke it up, the pattern had changed to this:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ladyluck/IMG_1170.jpg
and i could still move my mouse around. HELP!
i've restarted my computer and unplugged/replugged all the connections... from what i've read on other posts, it may be the video card/ VRAM? is there any way i can fix this myself?

    Try some of these first

  • Screen Saver Pixelation Problem

    Greetings All;
Here is a weird situation: After several minutes of inactivity, my Mac will go into the Screen Saver mode and display pictures from my Pictures folder. About third to half of the pictures displayed will be pixelated - not clear. The pixelated pictures are random.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thank you.

    Hi ya Bruce;
You the Man! It worked! Kinda strange that the Pictures folder has the problem but not Photos.
    Thank you. Thank you.

  • Screen Tearing/Pixelated into White Pixelated Startup Screen?

    Hello,
Two days ago my screen started to really show some weird things, my screen would begin to tear/pixelate and show weird stuff, this happened more often when i scrolled the page. Here are some screenshots to show you what i mean:
    Screen 1: http://oi46.tinypic.com/10ckhmh.jpg
    Screen 2: http://oi48.tinypic.com/15bw3k.jpg
Note: This was not a browser issue, this happened all over my screen no matter what application i had open at the time.
So after this i tried to lower my screen resolution, in a wild hope that it would fix this problem, so i lowered my resolution from 2560 x 1440 to 1920 x 1440
When this happened my screen got white with a few black dots on it, i could move my mouse but nothing else, when i clicked somewhere with my mouse nothing happened, i could just move it around the white pixelated screen.
So i shut down my computer with the button, it was the only way i could do it, and i started it again, now my computer would boot up in this white pixelated screen and there is absolutely nothing i can do, i can't take any action or open any program or whatsoever.. Here's a picture of what i get:
    Screen: http://oi49.tinypic.com/34q1vkl.jpg
So after this happened i tried booting into safe mode and safe mode works fine, no screen problem whatsoever, i tried looking for fixes to this problem and so far:
Things i've tried that did not work so far:
    - Resetting PRAM (Command+Alt+P+R when booting)
    - Taking the power out of my mac and holding the power button for 10+ seconds
    - Hardware test (No problems were found)
    - Deleting the file " /Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.XXXXX.plist "
So any help would be greatly appreciated, i am at a lost here currently..
    Thanks in advance!

    UPDATE
I managed to solve my start up problem by deleting the file on my iMac HD instead of the /User/Myname Library. I am talking about this Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist"
So i can boot my computer into normal mode again so that's fine, however the first problem still persists
    Screen 1: http://oi46.tinypic.com/10ckhmh.jpg
    Screen 2: http://oi48.tinypic.com/15bw3k.jpg
And it seems like its gotten worse when i open big programs like Ableton (Music Creation) or Adobe Photoshop. So any advice here would be greatly appreciated
