Screen went blank,no power, even when I plug in, nothing happens.

Screen went blank, lost all power. plugged it in, still nothing happens.

You can try holding the power button down for 10-15 seconds to see if anything appears on the screen. With iTunes running on your computer, you can try plugging it in to see if the device appears within iTunes. If neither test works then you probably have a dead iPod as posted before.

  • MY SCREEN WENT BLANK DURING THE DOWNLOAD OF  APPLE's UPDATE

I was downloading a system update for my MacBook and my screen went blank.
Applecare was unable to identify problem.
I took it into service and they said this has been happening lately with system downloads.
Am I doomed? I've only had this computer for 4 months.

Not a solution to your problem, but anyway: do you see anything on the screen when putting it into bright light? If so, then the backlight is of while the display is actual working.
My screen sometimes blacks out shortly after waking up from sleep. It always comes back within a minute. Annoying, and I don't have a solution yet and hope it does not need repair. However, during those blackouts I actually can tell what's on the screen when using a torchlight...
I assume you tried fn-F2 to ensure brightness is not set to off? And fn-F7 to ensure the MacBook doesn't think it's using some external screen? Did you try to reset the SMC? The System Management Controller is responsible for power management of the computer and also controls backlighting.

  • Screen went blank, won't shut off, screen as a timer in middle, chirps every once in while

I was using my iPod touch when the screen went blank, it just glows and has a timer clock in the center.  It chirps every once in a while.  I have it hooked up to the charger to see if that will bring it back.

    you can do 2 things.
         1. hold the home button and the power button in for 10-15 sec.
(powerbutton is on the top home button is the button on the botton)
         2. hold the power button to boot the ipod up again
         1. let the battery fully drain
         2. boot it up again while you have it connected to your computer
if it works and you can't boot up you can also let your ipod go to dfu mode:
         1. open itunes on your computer
         2. connect your ipod to your computer
         3. hold the home and powerbutton for 10 sec
         4. keep holding the home button
itunes will say now that he find an ipod touch in DFU mode and you an recover you ipod again be aware that you will lose all your data but if you had made a backup of your ipod before than is there no problem.

  • Screen went blank on 4s and can't turn back on. Battery is charged.

Screen went blank on 4s. Battery is fully charged. Can not turn on.

Okay, got my phone back from the store I originally bought it at (the Swedish equivalent to Best Buy), and they had tried charging it with an iPhone-charger with no results. However, when they tested with an off-brand charger, it started working again. I wonder why that is.
When I got home, it was on 98% and I plugged it in with my regular charger just to see if I would really need to go out of my way to buy a completely different charger. It charged up to 99%, and I then unplugged it. I will wait and see if the problem re-occurs, but as it looks now, I probably won't be needing to get the battery changed nor book an appointment with the Genius Bar I'll check in here again if that were to happen, to give my review of the Genius Bar!
Thanks for all the help again

  • IPad 1st generation turned it on and clicked on an app then screen went blank and now I can't get it to do anything at all

iPad 1st gen..help-clicked on an app and the screen went blank and now it won't' do anything-can't turn it off and it's getting hot. How do I remove the battery.

You cannot remove the battery on the iPad. If it is getting very hot, unplug it from power, if it's plugged in and set it down somewhere to let it cool off. Set it on something that cannot catch fire - as bizarre as that sounds. Set it on something that will not burn.
After it has cooled off, then try to restart it. If it will not start, try a reset.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I downloaded the latest iOS7 to my iPad and then the screen went blank and would not respond.   I have tried pressing the two buttons together and briefly get the Apple logo but still can not start up, the logo disappears.   I have tried connecting the iP

I downloaded the latest iOS7 to my iPad and then the screen went blank and would not respond.   I have tried pressing the two buttons together and briefly get the Apple logo but still can not restart, the logo disappears.   I have tried connecting to my iMac to restore the iPad but the device does not show up (I have an old iMac).   What else can I do?

You need to be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 at the very least in order to sync your iPad with iTunes so you could update your Mac, if it can be updated, and if you care to do so.
If that's not an option, you will have to find someone that can restore the device for you with their computer running iTunes or make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them to restore the device for you.
I hope that you have an iCloud backup, because you will lose everything on the device when it is restored.
Snow Leopard can still be purchased in the U.S. Apple Online Store.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Also, I would not give up on the reset technique....holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. It takes about 10-15 seconds and sometimes just a little longer to get the logo to appear.

  • While using IBOOKS I touched something on the screen and the screen went blank.  Can't get normal screen back.

While using IBOOKS I touched something on the screen and the screen went blank and I can't get back to normal IBOOKS screen.  How do?

    Try to reset your device:
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

  • My iPad just died. The gear symbol came up and then the screen went blank (turned off). It was fully charged so that wan't the issue.

My iPad just died. The gear symbol came up and then the screen went blank (turned off). It was fully charged so that wan't the issue.

That is indicating that the device has gone into recovery mode. Press just the Power button until the red Power Off slider appears and slide to turn it off. Then power it back up to see if it has exited Recovery Mode. If it has, then you should be good to go.
If it has not, then the issue you had that caused the iPad to turn off was one that put your device into Recovery mode requiring that you go through the recovery process (i.e., the reset did not process since the issue required a recovery to resolve). Here is a link that explains what you need to do to get out of Recovery Mode in that case:

  • IPad screen went blank / black

I tried to delete a certain apps that's not responding and the iPad screen went blank.

    Hi iDheygy,
Reset your iPad (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if all is well.

  • I dropped my iPad and the screen went blank.  I cannot get it to come back on.

I dropped my ipad and the screen went blank.  I cannot get it to come back on.

Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.  If that does not work you need to take the iPad to an Apple store genius bar to have it evaluated by the technicians.
