    Hi nicholasfromdenhaag,
It sounds like you got at least part way through the update before it stopped going any further.  Try the steps in this article for an update that didn't finish.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Starting up shows blank screen, then nothing works

I was using my santa rosa MBP 2.4Ghz last night when every app started showing a spinning beach ball. I tried to shut down properly, but nothing would work, so I used the power button to shut off the computer. When I rebooted, however, all I got was a startup chime followed by a blank gray screen and nothing more. If I leave it the fans eventually start going nuts. If I press the power button it shuts off immediately (no need to hold it down). None of the startup key-combos work, and I've tried booting it off an external USB drive (which I just created for emergency situations and has successfully booted the computer before) but it doesn't work. I've tried resetting the SMC, although frankly I don't see how one knows if that works or not, but I did it. I also reset the NVRAM, which oddly did seem to work, even if no other key-combos worked. Any ideas?

This isn't a major addition to what I wrote earlier, it's just that I noticed that if I hold down the option key while rebooting I see the arrow cursor, while otherwise I never see the cursor.
I also didn't mention that I had tried booting in firewire target disk mode, but that didn't work.

  • Why is Register software screen white, nothing opens or works?

I never registered my software i always hit LATER now it wont open or even show the register your software screen tabs or words. It worked fine last week.
A graphic artist I gave files to said some of my files were corrupt, I tried to open the files to see what he was talking about and I can not get past this blank white register your software screen to see whats is the matter, is this a sign that my photoshop files are corrupt?

    Here is the solution.
Several posts on this from a couple of participants.
    This one from Curt Y:
    Disconect internet
    Start CS3
    Say never to error screen
    reconnect to internet
Hopefully this should solve the issue:

  • Get to license agreement screen and nothing works.

I upgraded to 7.5 today, read the forums, so I deleted the new quicktime and installed the old one, but I still get locked up at the License screen.

What is your original iTunes version and Quicktime version before update?
Quicktime 7.2 still has some compatability problems.

  • Macbook black screen, white light, no chime and more problems

When I completely shut down my Macbook (regular starting 2009) and turn it back on I see the white light only and black screen. Nothing works! this has happened two times and I pressed the power button for 10 seconds to do a PMC reset and it actually turned on and past this week I've been pressing SHIFT+PWR button to turn on my Macbook.
Also, when my macbook wakes up from sleep it takes a while to get back up and sometimes the sound dosen't work although I see the devices in the Audio MIDI.
Does this mean my logic board is going bad or is it a NVRAM problem? I tried resetting the NVRAM but it didn't work!

Have you tried running the Apple hardware test?  Run the extended test, which can take over an hour.

  • Need help- nothing works now

Hi, I haven't been able to use quicktime to view internet files for awhile. I'm not sure if the problem started when I upgraded to 7.0.4, but now when I try to view one of the previews from Apple's site (for example), I just get the whited-out screen and nothing works. Also, when I start quicktime it says "get connected to the internet...etc," and I am connected.
I doubt it's a firewall problem since I can see files using Windows Media Player.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help...

As far as I understand, we open a terminal window, type "telnet" and an IP address, and our username and password. We then close this window and can use Safari and any other browser.
Yes, proxy server does sound very familiar. But I went and re-signed in using terminal, and didn't see the words. Maybe I know it from someplace else? Is there anything I can check on Safari or Internet Settings other than what I've already done, which is open everything I can find and look for the words "firewall," "security," "settings," etc?
I still think the problem is that quicktime can't detect that the internet is hooked up, based on the error message I get (the "get connected to the internet" thing).

iPod has a white screen. Tried fix suggestions. Nothing works. Can you help?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my ipod has a white screen and i cant do nothing i click on the home the volume and the lock botton but nothing work what do i do

Let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try:
    - A reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Connect to computer and try to retore.
    - If the screen remains white and you can't trun it off then it is time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. You very likely have a hardware problem.

  • TS1363 I recently updated my iphone overnight and today I can't get it to come on, I've tried the restore and nothing works.  I've tried syncing with 3 different computers and nothing works. I'm getting the black screen, white apple and a line under that

I updated my phone overnight and now I can't get it to come on.  I've tried everything, I have a black screen, white apple and a mine below that looks like it's trying to load but it has stopped.  HELP!

You're not alone. I am having similar problems with my Ipod 5th gen 30gb.
When I connect it to my laptop (Vista - basic) it is not recognised by itunes. Itunes simply locks up.
So far I have tried the following to no avail:
Checked my pc's device manager - it recognises the device and says it is functioning properly.
Checked the drivers to make sure they are upt to date.
Uninstalled & reinstalled a previous version of itunes (as it worked fine before the latest release).
    Reinstalled the latest itunes.
    Reset the ipod.
Put the ipod into disk mode and reconnected to itunes.
Have tried to use the windows tool to scan and fix any bad sectors but it fails to complete a scan without locking that up as well.
Placed into disk mode when fully charged and then allowed the battery to drain completely. Then reconnected ipod (in disk mode)and it still is not recognised and locks up itunes.
At this point I dont really want to part with another $300 odd dollars for a new one.

  • Glowing white screen, reset not working

my IPod touch won't respond to anything, I have browsed thru lots of help pages but nothing works.  I have a white glowing screen on my ipod touch and it won't hard reset, it won't connect to itunes on my computer, nothing happens or works.  what do I do now?  is it broken?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
