Screensaver and screen not dimming

in bootcamp.
I have a santa rosa MBP and I have a problem with the screensaver and the screen not shutting off. I set the screensaver to turn on in 1 min and the screen to turn off in 5 and it still doesn't work. I unplugged everything and it still doesn't work. Any solutions?
Ps i just downloaded this program

which turns off the lcd and it works for a second and my screen comes back.

Based on the information provided in your post, I recommend performing a backup and recovery of your notebook's system. Wireless upgrade and screen goes dim questions? - 2different things in one thread

I have a T42. Recent upgrade is replacing the hard drive and upgrade the RAM to max. I am thinking of upgrading the wireless card to improve the internet speed. Any suggestion?
The machine was not behaving lately. The screen went dim (very dim) and sometimes black and white. It seems that it went to battery mode by itself. Wondering what causes this? The machine was connected to AC and I set never hibernate and turn-off when AC plug-in.

Cannot possibly be, as for one it is a desktop computer that has no power management, and two the menu bars, tools and everything else stays the same brightness, it is only the editing window itself.

Ipad 3 screen not dimming

Hi all I think my auto brightness on my Ipad 3 is not working, it will brighten up once I go to a lighter room which is great, however if I go back into a dark room the screen will not dim automatically like it does on my 4s? Just wondering if this is normal,using IOS 6. Thanks!

Technically, not its not normal. The screen should dim. In my own experience, I have found auto brightness to be a flaky feature in any iOS that I have ever run on my iDevices. It come and goes. I never notice anything but very subtle differences anyway with auto brightness and rarely pay any attention to the screen brightness at all.
in all fairness, I use my iPad in virtually the same light conditions all of the time - never in the bright sunlight - since you can't see the screen anyway in the bright sunlight - and I don't use it in a dark environments either.

Screen not dimming, restart, indexing files??

Hello all, I am sorry to intrude, but I am not yet really familiar with Leopard and my new MBP. Last night, I noticed my screen didn't dim after its usual 7 minutes or so, so I manually dimmed it to go to sleep. This morning, I tried to brighten it and the screen went blank, so I (gasp) accidentally forced a hard restart.
Now, it is indexing my external drives again. Is this normal? And should I be worried about the screen dimming thing?

I am not the person who understands this problem. However, I would be a bit concerned that there might be a hardware problem with the video system.
One thing that you could do is to boot off the hardware CD and run all available tests, particularly those related to video. See if any problems show up. If you don't find anything, please post back and perhaps someone else will have some insight or an idea for you.

9810 funtions and screen not working properly.

HI all, hoping to find some help here. My 9810 is acting up. None of the keys are working, even the 5 below the screen. Sometimes the track pad works but not when it is pressed, and when the back botton works it puts me into sreach mode and looks for the letter "H" only. The touch screen is fine. This was before upgrading to OS7.1. I have done multiple hard resets and it does nothing at all. This has been going on for three days now. It hasn't be dropped or anything.
Last night I upgraded to OS 7.1 now my back ground does not rotate properly with how the phone is being held it does rotate, When you hold it upright it thinks its on it's side and vise versa.
Has anyone had a similar problem, and how can I fix it? Or is it one of those ones when you just get a new phone. I have only had it since Feb 29, 2012

IPhone not charging and screen not turning on after battery died

The battery on my iPhone just died about 2 hours ago. I noticed the battery getting kind of hot. Normally when this happens, I let it run to 0% then recharge it to 100%.
After the phone died, I plugged it in (wall charger) and nothing came on the screen. I then plugged it into the computer and nothing came on the screen at all. I left it plugged in for about 20 minutes and still nothing on the screen but the back of the phone was getting really hot. I held the phone up to my ear and heard a slight buzzing noise from the earpiece (?) and when i took the cable out the noise stopped. The overheating kind of freaked me out but I looked extensively online and everything mentioned flipping the vibrate switch and holding the home and power buttons. I then tried restarting my phone while the phone is plugged in and again nothing showed up on the screen.
I tried all of this and nothing happened. As of now I've taken the phone off of the charger as I'm unsure what my next move is going to be. I won't be able to take it to an Apple Store until April so I'm pretty much screwed.
Anyone have anything else I can try?

I tried some of the easy fixes but none had worked so far. Since the last time my battery drained to 0% and turned off (yesterday), my phone has not turned on. I have plugged it into a working wall socket, and plugged it into my computer, and neither has worked. Please note it's been plugged in for more than 24 hours. I have tried rebooting it but nothing seems to work. I have checked the apple support topics and can't find any solution to this problem that has worked.
Also please note that my phone is not getting hot to the touch, nor is it making a "humming" noise.

Hi! Removing a component with the laptop on may well have fried it. You can try a pmu reset found HERE but if that doesn't fix it you may be screwed. Tom

Adobe 11.0.04 Print Function and screen not working

When I click on the Print function for a PDF nothing happens - recently upgarded to Reader 11.0.04 - all other programs print fine.
Is there a bug or a fix required for Adobe Reader 11.0.04?

I get the Fax setup window for any PDF and only with this particular version of Adobe. 11.0.10
I installed a previous version of Adobe 11.0.09 and This time I didn't receive the Fax Setup box and the processes completed as expected.
Was thinking if a Windows update must have corrupted something in Adobe, so I un-installed and reinstalled 11.0.10 and received the Fax setup window again.
To resolve, I have installed 11.0.09 and stopped the automatic update of Adobe till a new version of Adobe is released and then verify the same before using it.
Adobe is not my default printer.

TS3274 Background and screen not clear. It is showing red color

Background is fuzzy and has red color. There are lines all over screen. It seems to be pulsing colors. Tried resetting and turning on and off. What is wrong? Perhaps the drive is dying?

HT4528 power button and screen not working - is this fixable and where do I go?

Last night my phone was knocked out of my hand and fell hard on the sidewalk. It doesn't look broken, I have it encased in an Otterbox but I can no longer see my screen, where do I get it fixed and is it fixable? Also a couple weeks ago my power button stopped working. Where do I go to get this fixed or do I have to get a new phone? I didn't get the insurance as I never had an issue with my phones before this.

T61 LCD Screen not working at all !!!

Hi, i have :
1 - Thinkpad T61 6460 EF7
2 - Windows XP SP3
3 - Intel Centrino Pro Duo 2Ghz
4 - NVidia Quadro 140NVS
5 - 2 GIG of RAM
6 - Latest drivers and updates installed
I was working and suddenly :
1 - my screen started flashing red
2 - and then Blue Screen
3 - crash
4 - i can see the screen working but it shows nothing
what i did:
1 - i bought an external screen to see what's going on
2 - external screen works only in safe mode and not in the normal mode and the Thinkpad LCD Screen still not working
3 - i checked the BIOS ans in display Thinkpad LCD is checked
4 - i've done a R and R restore, the thinkpad LCD screen resrarted working
but
1- the screen seems blocked by sometimes
2- after reinstalling the laptop in a way to continue working on it
3 - in the end of the day red flash, blue screen and screen not working anymore
so please, is there any software solution or do i have a hardware problem ?

As for Turbo Memory, I don't have enough experience with it to claim anything...but am tempted to point at the GPU as being the component most likely at fault...

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.
