Screensaver Question

I want to add photos from IPHOTO and make them a sliding screensaver. How do I do that?

Open System Preferences > Desktop and Screensaver > Screensaver, select the screensaver you want, select Photo Library as Source and choose photos

Apple TV Screensaver Question

I have added my own photos to the ATV, but when the screensaver comes on during music playback, it still displays the Apple shots that came with the device. I have selected Photo Library instead of Apple Photos under the screensaver settings, but it still combines the two.
Is there any way to prevent the machine from displaying the Apple photos and showing only my work, or can I delete the apple photos from the ATV???

Some Mac don't have IR but a Macbook shouldAFAIK.
If you have another remote pair the Macbook with that and it'll ignore the AppleTV remots.

Album art screensaver question

I love this album art screensaver. I have a lot of album covers on itunes becuase of hte new downlaoding feature. But...even though i have the album in itunes, only a few show up when i run the screensaver. this is sort of annoying....and i dont understand why it is happening.

Yes, I have this issue as well. The art downloaded in iTunes does not register with the Album Art Screen Saver. The only art that is registered is that which was obtained through third party widgets. I can only assume that the missing art is not being stored in the proper folder. I hope someone has a fix for this.

Photo Screensaver question

Does anyone know a photoscreensaver that'll show the path and file names?
I used use that option under Windows 2000 many years ago and have been searching in vain for the Mac equivalent. The only one I have come across so far is ArtSaver 1.7, but that's not working on 10.5.1.
Or is there a simple hack (for a non-programmer who can follow instructions) to modify the built-in photo screensaver.

IPhoto Screensaver Question ....

I am trying to use the photos in my iPhoto library as a screensaver on my mid-2012 MBA. However, when I go into the "choose folder" menu, the iPhoto icon is "greyed-out" and can't be selected. Surely such a basic function must be available an a Mac. Any thoughs on how I can get this to work?

E65 low battery indicator and screensaver question...

I've now had this phone for a couple of weeks, and seem to be figuring it out (after over 2 years of a 6820 it took some getting used to - but I couldn't wait for O2 to start carrying the E70).
Anyway, it was all going fine (although the battery life isn't as good as my previous phones!), until I noticed that there's no audible indication of the low bettery warning (I have the warnings switched on in settings) - is there any way to do this? It's driving me nuts!
Then, the screensaver (which although a little dark is OK) has suddenly disappeared(!) and I can't seem to get it back.
Arghh, please help!

Simple Screensaver Question

I am a user of the 'beach' screensaver, and I was just wondering: Can I put any one of the beach photos as my desktop background?

sure,
go to Macintosh HD > System > Library > Screen Savers > Beach.slideSaver
control click on it, and choose show package contents
inside the Contents folder, go to the Resources folder and there are the images.
(I would drag the file you want, while holding down the option key, to the desktop (or where ever you plan to put it, pictures folder?) - so you make a copy of it.)

Itunes screensaver question

hello there. when my itunes album art screen saver comes up I see lots of album art. however, I see the same ones all the time. I have lots more album art that never shows up in the screen saver. is there a setting that I'm not seeing or is that they way it's supposed to be?

IPhoto Library as Desktop Background

System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Desktop
All of my photo 'events' within iPhoto '08 are listed for use as a Desktop image underneath the default Apple ones. When I click on an 'event' all the thumbnails load into the preview panel however when when I click on one the Desktop turns blue and won't display the image.
Any help?

More of a Desktop and Screensaver question than an iPhoto one, really. Some things to try:
Ensure that you have the latest version of the OS (10.4.10) and Quicktime (7.2) and the app.
1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
2. Delete the com.apple.desktop.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
Post over on the 10.5 Finder forum for more, is my best advice.

E71 - 2 quick questions abt screensaver and voice ...

hi all, I have had the E71 for a week now and was wondering:
A) if I turned off the breathing light in any profile, the time and date screen saver appears (ok nothing new right). However, if I turned off the breathing light I have noticed the breathing light is still on... yes still breaths... but that doesnt matter, what matters is that the time on the screen saver DOES NOT CHANGE... i mean if its 12:00 noon at the time when the screen saver kicks in, it will stay at 12:00 noon until I either press the center button to see the time light up or unlock the phone... the time in the screensaver does NOT update as the time changes.... is this a bug or am I missing something??
B) you know the button between the volume buttons... the one that when pressed you can voice active certain applications to come up... my question is.. can I map this button to open another application as the voice app does me no good? Is there a software to map this or is there a setting in the phone?

The screen saver lag seems to be a widely known bug in the 200.21.118 firmware. People have reported that among other issues here: /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&thread.id=45616

Question on AppleTV Screensaver and Mac Mini

I saw a Apple TV in action and liked it. Decided to buy a mini instead so I could have more use out of it. The mini is my HTPC.
Does anyone know what the screensaver is on the Apple TV and where to download it?
I searched through the screensaver downloads, but since I don't know the name, I can't find it.
The screensaver floats your pictures 15-20 of them up the screen, then it does a 3d rotation of them all and then different pictures come down the screen. I do not know how else to describe it. I basically just want the screensaver from a appletv

Well, I haven't actually seen the Apple TV screen saver, but Leopard has a screen saver that sounds the same. Go under "Pictures" to choose some pictures to use - I use the last twelve months smart folder from my iPhoto library - and then, under the preview of the screen saver, to the bottom left there are three icons. Select the middle one (called "collage" when you hover your mouse pointer over it) to get that screen saver effect.

Can not get out of screensaver

Hello,
I have a Lenovo R500 with Windows 7. When i leave my computer on for a while without using it gets into a screensaver state where i can not get out of, only by restarting abruptly the computer and so all open programs that are still running. How can i solve this?

Here are a few more details:
Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
      In the list of device categories, expand Mice and other pointing devices.
      Right-click the entry for your mouse, and then click Properties.
      In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click the Power Management tab, check the Allow this device to wake the computer check box, and then click OK.
There are some screenshots here although the instructions are to remove the check because it is advising how to disable it. You will be doing the opposite.:

Screensaver ignores settings in Windows Media Player when watching a movie...

Hello,
Does anyone know how to resolve the problem with screensaver kicking in while watching a movie using Windows Media Player (WMP) even though I have unchecked the option to "Allow screen saver during playback" option in WMP?
I have found that if I start Windows Media Center (WMC) first and watch TV for example or even listen to Music in WMC and then later quit out and then load WMP to watch an avi file, after the specified time the screen saver starts up and the movie is no longer visible until i move the mouse to stop the screensaver. I know if I reboot WMP will work fine and no Screen saver will startup, that is not until i start WMC again and then go back into WMP...

Few questions about customizing jwm

Hello all,
Coming from KDE, I found jwm and it runs so much better on this circa 2008 laptop. KDE runs OK but this is a lot faster. I have familiarized myself with .jwmrc and how to make basic changes and I've come across a few questions.
1.) Is there any way to enable dragging and rearranging the open programs in the taskbar? I'm kind of OCD about the order of my running apps especially since restarting jwm after edits to the config file puts them in a random order.
2.) I think I see a way to get programs to start maximized and such using Groups but is there a way to start a program with a specific size? Specifically I am referring to nedit - it always starts too small and I size it so be larger but not overlapping my conky.
3.) Relating to #2, is there any way to get all programs to remember their window's size and position upon restarting? This has been a pet peeve of mine for years and KDE has the ability to remember this but most other Linux DEs and WMs don't.
4.) I've been using slock to lock the screen but I need to run it manually. Is there any way to get slock to run automatically, ie after say 5 minutes of inactivity? As of now I've been using xscreensaver to power off the monitor - should I just use the "Lock screen" option here? I've been trying to keep this install as minimal as possible - I don't need a screensaver, just ideally to turn off the monitor and lock the screen after some time.
