Screenshot Defaults

Hello
Is there anywhere you can set the defaults relating to screenshots in Mac OS X?
For instance, I would love to be able to set a default folder for where screenshots are saved. It really doesn't suit me to have them saved to the desktop by default!

Oops, I didn't notice that link was the SL version. I'm using the Leopard version, which you can get here:

How to make fonts in firefox look prettier? For example like in sleipnir

Hello,
I wonder if there is a way to make fonts in firefox look smooth and easy to read?
I've tried using Sleinpir browser (http://www.fenrir-inc.com/us/sleipnir/) which has aimed to provide smooth and readable text and almost every piece of text looks just better and more pleasant to read.
I've tried almost every setting both in Options dialog and in about:config (under gfx.font filter).
Enabling rendering via directwrite helped a lot, but it's still nothing compared to Sleipnir.

(EDIT: I've even tried instaling gdi++ https://code.google.com/p/gdipp/ alternative renderer for windows, but it doesn't seem to make any change in firefox)

Dreamweaver SWF Problem

I am a relatively new Flash/Dreamweaver user and cannot seem to figure this one out.
I have checked my root files and *believe* all of them are pointing to the correct files, but for some reason my .swf is not loading in any browser; only locally.
The .swf doesn't show up on its own (ie: at http://www.5enses.eu/Index_.swf), which is odd. I heard it might be a path problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.

My swfobject_modified.js and expressInstall.swf are both uploaded under a Scripts folder and loose in the root directory.

Publish Settings in Flash when you're exporting the SWF:
Under HTML wrapper settings as shown above:
Size should be 'Percent' at 100 width and 100 height
This will make the entire area of browser a wrapper for holding your flash SWF
Now, the important part: Scale & Alignment: I've opened the drop-down menu in the screenshot:
Default (Show All) will fit the SWF movie to screen, keeping the aspect ratio intact - but will leave white space on either sides, if your screen's aspect ratio and the SWF aspect ratio don't match - scales when browser resizes
No border will fit movie to screen, but will bleed the borders with the stage color you set in Flash and may crop the content sometimes - scales when browser resizes
Exact Fit - Shows complete content to occupy full screen width & height and doesn't maintain aspect ratio - may cause stretching - scales when browser resizes
No Scale - doesn't scale movie to full screen - container will be 100% width & height but SWF shows at exact stage size - doesn't scale when browser is resized

Screencapture image format problem.

Hello,
I have traied to change the image format of my screencaptures from TIFF to JPEG (or any other image format) without any luck. No matters what i do it always save the images as TIFF. I have tried to change it with Cocktail App and i also tried to change it with Terminal (defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg). I am using Mac OS X 10.5.5.
I dont know why, but i can not change it. I must be doing somthing wrong, but i really cant tell. I would appreciete a lot any help that you could give me.

how many apps (that came with the system) there are for screencapture in Mac OS X? I only know Grab (Instantanea in spanish).
That's right.
There is one application (that comes with the Mac) called Grab, that can take screen shots by two methods.
1. Open Grab and do it via the menu, (which saves as .tiff) or,
2. simply use the three key combination Shift + Command + 4 to produce the same. (which saves as .png but this extension is editable from Terminal)
Example of command showing how to produce a .jpg screenshot.
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg
Note: you must immediately log out for the change to occur.

Create Requester ABCS without Reference using Service Constructor

Hello,
we using Service Constructor to create Requester ABCS. We disable the checkbox for CAVS and References, but the WSDL of EBS is as reference in Project and binding didn't bind to oramds. Another point is, that we disable ErrorHandling, but in composite and bpel is an external reference to AIAAsyncErrorHandling.

Bug 9431667 is logged for issue where error handling was unchecked, but it is still being defined.

How do I change the default save folder for screenshots in Mountain Lion

I would like screen shots to save to a specific folder in Pictures (~/Pictures/Screenshots)
There is a way to do this in previous versions of OS-X. Is there another way to do this in Lion, or is the Terminal method the simplest way to do this?

It should still work the same way. I changed mine in either Snow Leopard or Lion and it remains the way i Changed it in Mountain Lion.

How to display clear screenshots in PDF when default Acrobat page resolution is 110 ppi?

I want screenshots captured on my 96 ppi screen to display clearly in the PDF. But the Acrobat default page resolution display is configured to 110 ppi, not to the system setting of 96 ppi.
1) Why is the Acrobat default display 110 ppi and not 96 ppi?
2) If all Adobe Acrobat and Reader users open PDFs with the default Acrobat setting, how should screenshots taken on a 96 ppi screen be resized to display clearly?

The concept of matching pixels in a bitmap photo to the user's display doesn't exist in PDF. Pages have physical dimensions, not pixel values, so they will always end up being resampled.

Change default screenshot settings

Hi,
Currently when I take a screenshot by using Cmd-Shift-3 or Cmd-Shift-4, etc, it saves the screenshot as a PNG to the desktop. I would like to know if I could change the settings to have it save as a JPEG to my Downloads folder. And perhaps even the default naming.

You can do this with a Terminal command but the changecapture utility is simpler
If you want to use Terminal run it and enter the command:
*defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg*
To change to jpg as default, substitute the last section of you want BMP TIFF PICT PDF etc.
Either way this will only change the format it won't set the name or save location for you.

Default OSX screenshot shortcuts not working

Problem started for me after my trial for SnapzX Pro ran out...
I uninstalled SnapzX, and no longer had OSX screen shot functionality.
I asked on the SnapzX forums, and did every step of the manual uninstall (multiple times) and still no love.
I've got the camera sound when I use the keyboard shortcuts, but
a. No file is produced
b. Nothing is copied to the clipboard
Using grab for the meantime, but would be fantastic to get the default functionality back...
Any advice would be appreciated!

Screenshot filename in Lion

Anyone knows a way to rename the filename of screenshots in Lion?
I'm talking about the part that comes after the prefix, that can be changed via;
defaults write com.apple.screencapture name NEWPREFIX
In Snow Leopard, this was achieved by chaning a line in the following file;
/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemUIServer.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Localizable.strings
This is no longer possible, as the value isn't present in this file anymore. The .strings-file have also been changed from a plain text file, to a binary plist file since Snow Leopard.
The reason I want to change this, is to avoid spaces in the file name. I know that some of you use scripts that goes through the screenshot-folder to rename, but was hoping to avoid this.
Anyone knows of a way to change this in Lion?

You can replace "Pictures" to whatever you like.

To change the screenshot capture location to a new place on your Mac, first think of a location that would serve you properly. We like to place ours in a "Screenshot" folder located inside of the User's "Pictures" folder. To change the location to this new location, open the Terminal and enter the following command:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/[u]/Pictures/Screenshots/
Replace "[u]" with the name of the user on your system. Once you have entered this command, let's restart the screen capture utility by restarting the SystemUIServer by entering the following command:
killall SystemUIServer
You can optionally log out and back in instead of entering this second command, thus restarting the SystemUIServer. Once restarted, all screen captures taken from here on out will end up in your /Pictures/Screenshots/ folder in the User's home folder on your Mac.

Saving screenshots to a different location?

Somewhere, there is a preference to set the default location to save screenshots... I can't find it now! I have one of my machines set to save screenshots to a folder on my desktop, so I know this is possible. But I can't seem to find that preference on a second machine. I thought it was a preference setting in Cocktail, but it isn't there.
Can anyone tell me where to set the default location for saving screenshots? I need to set it to a folder instead of Mac OS's default of the Desktop.

How to make Cost Center display/default at expense level in PR05

Dear Friends
I've a requirement in Travel Mgt where in PR05 at each expense line item level i need cost center to be displayed by default as 100%. Is there any possibility at the config level or Exit level to make it default.
Currently we are using a Exit: ZXTRVU03 for Cost center & Business area validation. where my client has given us a cost center ranges to make business area as default explicitly only for Travel Mgt. for ex: we have a Cost center range as 74001 - 74018 for this range the default business area for Travel Mgt must be 101 and for HR & FI it can be 101-110 any range. Based on that we have written a program using the Exit ZXTRVU03. Now the problem we are facing is in Master data the employee is falling under the above mentioned costcenter and HR has given a business area which falls under 101-110 (take example as 105)
Now the issue here is, based on the Master data, when we incur any expense in PR05, the Business area 105is coming by default for any of the expense. Now as per my client, this is wrong. It must be 101 at any cause. So, based on that we have made an enhancement that if user changes the Cost distribution to 100% or make the cost distribution with splits like 50% with home cost center & 50% with another cost center then only our enhancement gets triggered. But user is not satisfied with the solution provided, as we cannot expect users to change the cost distribution unless there is a split. So we are planning to pass a value in the cost distribution field as 100% ( as in std the field itself is blank, but still it denotes as 100%)
I hope the above screenshot makes it clear. Now instead of manally entering 100% to make the enhancement trigger, is there any possible solution where I pass the value as default 100% to make users life easier.
Note: we are not maintaining IT0017 for cost center, company code, Business area as we are reading this data through Master data.
Kindly provide me your valuable solutions.

Maintain Cost centre at each Organization unit at infotype 1008.
at PR05 it will pick by default.

How can I change the default quality of youtbe ?

I am sorry maybe I ve got stupid question but I cant solve my problem all day ... Suddenly from yesterday my quality of yotube videos gone from 480p(also a bigger player size) to 360p (smaller player size - the same like on the picture) . So all the time when I enter youtube the default is 360p and small player size . Could you please tell me how can I change back to bigger player size and 480p ? I also check youtube in other browsers and it works just fine 480p default with bigger player size ...Thanks in advance

This is an option set in the browser, so it would not effect your other browsers. To change it, go to youtube.com, select a movie you would like to watch, then click the gear icon at the bottom. It will then show the current settings for speed and quality of the movie. To change the setting, simply click the "360p" and it will then give you the other definition options. See screenshot if these directions do not make sense.
