Screenshot in Grab, misses menu

I friend just sent me a screen shot in iChat and I'm attempting to send him the same shot from my 17" MBP. It's a shot in iChat, with the 'Windows' menu showing (we have slightly different items in the menu).
He told me he did a "Timed Capture" in Grab while holding the 'Windows' menu open in iChat. I did the same thing - three times - but, each time, when the timer goes off and the shot appears in Grab, the menu is missing from the screen shot.
What am I doing wrong here?

D'oh! Totally my fault. I was taking the "tonk" as the shot where it's only something likes a 2 sec. warning, so I was letting go the menu before the shot was being taken.

Missing Menu Options in Flash Builder

I encountered a mystery surrounding several missing menu options in one of my Flash Builder workspaces recently. I wanted to create a new skin for a List control so I right-clicked on my skins folder and looked for the New MXML Skin option. And I looked. And I looked some more. But it wasn't there.
I happened to have another copy of Flash Builder open in another workspace so I gave it a try in that project. Sure enough, the New MXML Skin option was there along with a couple of other options that were missing in the first workspace. Here's a list of the menu options missing from the File --> New menu in this workspace:
Flash Professional Project
MXML Item Renderer
MXML Skin
I'm not sure why those menu options went missing but I was able to work around it by recreating the workspace. I simply created a new workspace, copied all of the projects into the new workspace folder and then imported all of my projects into the new folder. I then had a full set of menu items.
I poked around a bit trying to figure out what went wrong but wasn't able to find a conclusive answer. My best guess is that it has something to do with the fact that I was previously running the Flex 4 beta and that's when I created the workspace with the problem. I compared the workspace .metadata folder and, curiously, there were 25 folders inside the .plugins folder for the problem workspace but only 12 for the newly created one.

This is an eclipse thingy, menus get cached in the workspace' metadata. If you try using a newer build of Flash Builder with a workspace from the previous version, you may notice this behavior.
The workaround is to create a new workspace and import all projects there.

SRP521W Administration - Missing Menu Options.

Second post, I have a new SRP 527W, I've run through the initial config and am looking at the features available, in comparison the the PDF Admin Guide I seem to have a number of options missing from the menu.
My router only shows Time setup & Switch setting, these look like the top and bottom items ... so I'm missing around 10 items ... including the ability to upgrade the firmware.
According to te status page my router has "1.01.09 (001) Apr 7 2010".
Help much appreciated.

I too was mystified by missing menu items - specifically looking for Logging setup.
I was using the cisco logon and as you say this brings up the quick interface.
My problem is that the admin/admin is not accepted ie is being rejected as Invalid User Name or Password.
The 527W was purchased through Telstra in Australia and was delivered with Firmware 1.0.17 (VP002) Oct 8 2010 - this is also a mystery as there does not seem to be any reference to this firmware level anywhere.
Your help would be appreciated.

P.S. Found a hint in another post that admin/admin only works on initial access after the 527W is reset to Factory Defaults. This worked! Quite a strange way of doing things....

The menus.xml file is normally in your personal configuration folder. Before going to the trouble of reinstalling, try deleting your configuration folder. Details of how to find it are here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494812.
When you launch Dreamweaver, it should build a new configuration folder.

Missing menu items, iMac OS9 anyone?

I have an old 333MHz iMac, I just installed OS9.2.1 on it but there are some strange problems:
1# There are some missing menu items, like 'Restart', 'Select all' and 'Get info', the keyboard shorcuts don't work for these either.
2# There is a modem in the computer but this does not show up under the 'Apple System Profiler'.
I have reset the PRAM and the System seemed to install OK. All extensions are on.
Anyone any ideas?

You're quite welcome.
When you open the Modem control panel and attempt to connect to the modem, do you get any message indicating the port is already in use? If so, it is probably AppleTalk interfereing - it can do that even if AppleTalk has been turned off. To fix that, in the AppleTalk control panel reset AppleTalk to use a different port - if you need it for the printer, select that; otherwise, select an unused port such as Remote or Ethernet.
It may also help to trash the file ASLM Preferences and restart.

BUG: Toggling interface on/off causes missing menu toolbar items and icons in Photoshop CS4!

When I toggle the interface on/off it causes missing menu toolbar items and icons until I exit and restart Photoshop CS4. I know this can happen if problem filters are installed. So I have the latest Alien Skin filters installed and have already followed their AutoLayer2.8li file updates to resolve Windows Photoshop CS4 issues. I also have Luxology imageSynth 2.0 filter installed. So since all my filters are updated to CS4 compatible versions, I shouldn't have this problem but yet it occurs. Any way to fix this?
I'm using WinXP SP2, 4 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 with newest 185.85 driver. I have 3D canvas rotation turned on.

What do you mean by this? Are you using standard methods (i.e. the buttons on the top-right of the screen) in Windows Explorer to minimize and then restore? or what?
Are you on XP 64-bit? or 32-bit?
Did you install driver version 185.85 before or after the problem started?

Missing Menu Bar

Just installed Ovi Suite 3.0.0.284 on Windows 7 and am now missing the menu bar at the top as the window is right at the top of the screen.
Any ideas on how to get it back?

This is probably a silly question, but are you sure it's missing? I had a problem with mine that it was up too high and I just couldn't see it. I right-clicked on the program on my taskbar and chose "maximize" and was able to see the menu again so I knew it was just too high for me to see (and for my mouse to grab). Alt-space opened a menu that lets you choose "move" and I was able to pull it down a little using the down arrow on my keyboard.

Weird graphics bug - missing menu content!

While Logic has had its share of odd graphics "anomalies" over the 17 years I've used it, I had a new one today that was really bad. All of a sudden, I went to select a quantize value in the floating parameter box, and it came up completely empty! After a few seconds the values would appear - or not. A few times they appeared out of order.
Then something similar happened in a plugin (ArtsAcoustic reverb) - the preset menu came up blank. Then if that weren't enough, I created a new software instrument channel. When I went to call up an instrument plugin, THAT was blank too.
***??!? Anyone ever see this before? I grabbed some screenshots but of course I can't attach them here...
Trashed prefs, rebooted - same thing. Yikes!

Can't help you with the menu, but to 'paste' a picture in this forum you can upload your pic to a free image hoster, and then copy and paste the link here, put an ! (exclamation point) on both ends of the link with no spaces.

8210 missing menu items.

Hi. I have just purchased a 8210 handset which has items missing from the menu list. "GENERAL OPTIONS" which is used to set all the volume ,ringtones and appearance etc. Could anyone please advise how I could rectify this problem?

To the best of knowledge General Options can be found if you go to Messages -> Options -> General Options. Not under Menu options.

Missing menu:

At last I figured out how to post this! My problem is: When playing the slide show created with iDVD on my 'Sony Bravia' TV it skips the menu and begins at the first chapter. So I put in a lead image set at 10 seconds but it still misses the menu when played. It's fine on the Mac... what am I doing wrong? This is driving me insane! Please help!

Welcome to apple discussions. Go into map view within iDvd as shown below. Is there a movie in the very first box? If so, select it and hit the delete key. Now try the iDvd preview one more time. Did it work as expected this time?

Missing menu bar in PS Elements 7.0

OS is 64 bit Vista. Menu bar is missing on organizer page. ie no ability to upload from either cardreader or scanner in "get pictures." Returned all I could find to default, deleted entire program and reloaded same. Still no menu bar.

Missing menu Icons

Hello,
After installing the latest software update (10.4.5 and iTunes 6.0.4) the following icons are missing from the menu bar:
Sound
Spotlight
Date & Time
Display
I've checked off the items in sys prefs but no luck. If I try to check off "sound"
it won't take. I can check off the others, but they still don't apppear in the menu bar.
Anybody out there have any ideas?

Missing menu "File|NFS Mounts" in Disk utility

I had many NFS mounts using Disk utility and I used "File|NFS Mounts" but now that option is missing and I can't see my mounts neither those mounts are working, so I have two questions
1. Where I can see my old mounts listed?
2. How can I make nfs mount work?

The problem is Boot Camp: It uses a hybrid GPT/MBR partitioning scheme - which ends up hiding the Recovery HD partition - which is an EFI physical partition (neither GPT nor MBR).
I would expect a new version of Boot Camp to release - like real soon - because of the Recovery HD partition invisibility issue.
In this article - it is suggested that rEFIt should be used to partition a hard drive that is going to support multiple boots including Mac OS X, LINUX, and Windows.

The key in the article to using Boot Camp with rEFIt is this:
"Run the Boot Camp Assistant and create the Windows XP driver cd. Then exit Boot Camp. DO NOT PARTITION USING BOOT CAMP: you are only using Boot Camp for the drivers, not the partitioning."
All partitioning is done in terminal mode using the "diskutil" command.
rEFIt is used to update both the GPT and MBR records so that all partitions will be visible using its "gptsync" command.
Then - you replace the standard Mac boot menu with the rEFIt boot menu. THAT will show the Mac OS X partition, Recovery HD (an EFI partition), and the Windows partition.
My caveat is that rEFIt - which is open sourced and available here: http://refit.sourceforge.net
has not been recently updated and tested with respect to Mac OS X Lion.
