Screenshot in Safari

Hello there,
Could anyone take a screenshot in Safari of my website - I'm
wanting to ensure how it looks in various browsers. The address to
the site is: www.freewebs.com/torbayhospitalradio/Don
Stevens/index.html
Thanks in advance,
Kristopher (UK).

Hi Kristopher.
Let me one advice. Don´t use spaces in the name of yours
urls because you
can confront problems. Also is a good practice dont use
spaces in the name
of your folders, images...
Fix the space between "Don and Stevens" and if all what you
want is a
screenshot you can go here:
http://www.browsrcamp.com/ or
here
http://browsershots.org/
Greetings.

  • Screenshot of safari bookmarks

I have completely given up on Safari. I have tried everything but am unable to add a bookmark without Safari crashing. I am swiching to Firefox but like to compile a list of my current bookmarks to import to Firefox. Any suggestion on how to do this?

From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click File > Export Bookmarks
Save that file to yuor desktop for easy access.
For Firefox >  Import Bookmarks and personal data from another browser
unable to add a bookmark without Safari crashing.
Post a crash report. Might be able to fix Safari for you...
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash  information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • Safari Displays Pages in Foreign Font

After the last software update, many pages look like the following screenshot in Safari. Some sites are fine, others have weird fonts all over them. How do I fix this?
    http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/979/screenshot20100130at112.png

Font Book, select all fonts, validate them, and finally resolve all duplicates. Restart and things should work normally.

  • Mac Safari can't display ikea website properly but iPad Safari can

Anyone noticed this? I was browsing Ikea website on my Mac mini today, and realize the color and buy online option for the furniture can't de displayed on the Mac Safari, but my iPad Safari can display these options without any problem. I thought it's the Mac Safari, so I switched to Firefox, still, no color and buy online options...

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account, or is system-wide. Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select “Help” from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Any application you run will behave as if you were running it for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
As Guest, launch Safari and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.

  • Safari changes font when used latin extended character

    Greetings,
So this is quite annoying - I whenever I use any characters from extended latin on my website Safari decides to turn them into a completely different font.
Whereas Chrome shows no intention of doing so.
Any ideas how one could prevent this from happening?
Herein I have included some screenshots.
    Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1):
    Chrome Version 40.0.2214.94 (64-bit):
    Thanks,
    Scott

    SOLUTION
So I managed to figure out why this happened. This was in fact not a matter of browser interpretation, rather it was due to incomplete import of the extended version of font.
ANYONES who is using google extended latin fonts has to acquire the FULL link in my case it was
    http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Oswald&subset=latin,latin-ext
where as initially the link that made the font appear incorrectly was
    http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Oswald
so the missing part was &subset=latin,latin-ext, in your case it will most likely be different, so you have to go to google fonts or whatever else source you are using and get the specific link for the full version and paste it into you style.css stylesheet file.
    Thanks to everyone who replied,
Hope this helps many millions of people throughout milleniums.
    Sincerely,
    Scott Agirs

  • DivX Web Player not appearing in Safari 5.1

    Hey there!
Just a few days back I decided to go back to Safari (version 5.1, build 7534.48.3). However, the DivX Pro Web Player (version 2.1.2.264) refuses to show up. No matter the conditions.
I have tried disabling all of my Safari extensions. I have uninstalled Adblock as recommended by someone around the forums. I do have the latest version of Perian (1.2.3) installed. I have tried temporarily moving a few QuickTime components as recommended by Perian (http://perian.org/#support). I have tried disabling the DivX Plus Web Player HTML 5 <video> 2.1.2.126 alone and re-enabling it. I have tried several versions of the DivX Web Player (1.4, 6 and the latest) I have tried everything mentioned above in both 32bit and 64bit mode. I have restarted my computer a bunch of times between the changes, just in case it would make a difference.
It works perfectly fine within Mozilla Firefox (version 5.0.1) and Google Chrome (version 13.0.782.107 beta).
    Screenshot of Safari: http://static.madphp.org/divx-web-issues/safari.png
    Screenshot of Mozilla Firefox: http://static.madphp.org/divx-web-issues/firefox.png
    Quick Version Peak:
    Mac OS X Lion (10.7)
    Safari (5.1, build 7534.48.3)
    Mozilla Firefox (5.0.1)
    Google Chrome (13.0.782.107 beta)
    DivX Web Player (2.1.2.264)
    DivX Safari Extension (2.1.2.126)
    Perian (1.2.3)
Any help whatsoever is highly appreciated. I realise this may not be a direct issue of Safari, but could rather be an issue of the DivX Web Player, thus me posting this both here and through a ticket to the DivX support.
    Thank you very much,
    Chris.

I have the same issue since updating to Lion / Safari 5.1!
The plugin worked fine before in 32-bit Mode.
There's nothing on the internet on this issue altough it seems this problem occurs on any Lion machine. I have encountered the same problem on a new MacBookAir that came with Lion preinstalled. So I'm guessing it has nothing to do with updating from Snow Leopard to Lion.
    Any help greatly appreciated!!!

  • Safari 5.1 not showing extensions on extensions tab

when going to extensions tab on safari's 5.1 preferences menu none of my extensions are showing, i mean nothing is just blank
this is a screenshot of safari when i try to go to my extensions

    Ok...
Could be the preferences are corrupted ..
Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) character represents your Home folder.
For LIon:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

  • I'm not able to use Adobe Send in Safari. Why not?

So, when are you going to provide for Mac Safari to use Adobe Send?

I can't see your image, unfortunately. The toolbar that Sarah was referring to is the one in the message-composition window here in the forum. If you start to reply to me, you should see it.
If you click on that camera icon, it will prompt you for the image that you want to insert in the message.
Anyway, in Safari you should first see this:
and then after clicking on Select Files to Send and picking a file, you should see:
If what you're seeing is different than this (note that I took those screenshots in Safari), please let us know.

  • Safari Tabs Don't have Labels after Yosemite

Ok- I updated to Yosemite last week and everything appeared to be working fine everywhere... until today. In Safari if I open a new tab, instead of displaying the title, along with the x to close the tab it just is blank. The only way I can close the tabs is to go through file -> close tab. The tabs are there (although its sort of hard to see them since they don't have labels). Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Safari in iOS 6 does not have thumbnails anymore. I stand behind my remark in that the device was not running OS 6 - it's not possible for Safari to have thumbnails in iOS 6.
This is a screenshot of Safari running on my iPad3 running iOS 6.0.1. You see no little squares in the toolbar indicating the thumbnail views. Notice that I also have 10 tabs visible as well. That's not possible in the pre iOS 6 version of Safari. You can have up to 21 tabs open now IIRC.

  • Safari Auto Saving Screen Shots?

Hello! For some reason screenshots of Safari are being autosaved. Not sure why or if this is needed? How do I disable this auto save and delete the files? Thank you!
    Here is a screen shot:

Where is screen shot autosaving to? If you take a screen shot it has to go somewhere. Just drag and drop to Trash or Select them and use "Move to Trash" under File in Menu Bar.

  • Embedded video in Indesign won't play

    Hi all,
I've been playing with InDesign for the last 8+ hours on trying to figure this out and hoping somebody here on this forum is smarter than me. I have embedded a video (it's a flash video) in my InDesign file - a magazine. I'm testing the page to make it work before exporting the whole file, but so far am stuck on this one problem.
I save the spread as a flash file and when the file opens from my C: the movie plays and everything is copacetic.
When I go to load the file to my FTP, not only is the movie not playing, but it's not even loading. I placed the video in Indesign at 100% and as I mentioned, when I open the file locally, it works fine. The minute I try to import it online .. zip.
Here is the link for the test page: http://www.bakidsmagazine.com/page19.swf.
I appreciate any and all help you can give me on this. I've looked online for answers but couldn't find it.
My e-mail is [email protected] if you need me to send you any files.

InDesign does not embedd videos... when you export your SWF, ID creates a Resources folder for all the media assets. You have to upload that folder to your server too. If you don´t, Flash Player doesn´t find your videos, sounds or places SWFs...
    Here´s a screenshot from Safari´s activity window:
It seems that you are publishing a magazine. If you want to get some extra features like zooming for instance, check out http://www.edocker.com

  • Why do some pages disappear in portrait mode?

    iBooks Author 1.1
I created a new template page when I authored a book. I added this page to the end of several chapters. When I preview the book in ipad the page shows up in landscape mode but disappears in portrait mode. It is composed simply of two text fields.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Scott

Not sure whether this applies to your sitation, I suggested this as a last straw…
Click on the layout page for the affected pages in the top section on the pane on the left. In the inspector, click the layout tab and select the layout pane. Near the bottom is a tickbox "Shared with portrait layout".
I tried to attach a screenshot, and Safari lets me select an image to attach, but the "Insert" button remains greyed out. I tried jpg, tiff, and png, no luck. I've attached images before and noticed that I sometimes have to try two or three times before the "Insert" button becomes active after selecting an image. This time, it didn't work at all, sorry.
    Michi.

  • Please help me with this mountain lion problem.

I'll try to lay this out as best I can. I've been going crazy over this.
I go to this particular photo forum and read a lot and post a lot. Ever since upgrading to mountain lion, every time I go to this forum, I now notice that certain words, completely random, are highlighted. Some of these highlighted words are underlined with one line, and some have two lines underneath. Some of the words, if you click on the word, thinking it might be a link to something pertinent to the subject being discussed, will lead you to some search type of site again random, they are all kinds of different places, but basically an ad, and some of these highlighted words, if you just drag your cursor over the word, an ad will pop up.
Please someone tell me that they have been experiencing this same type of thing.
Also, is it just me or does it seem like mountain lion has slowed down my computer just a little bit. I have a pretty fast internet connection here and sometimes when I click on a site, or type an address in the URL line, the little blue line that starts accross seems to go very slow. Sorry I can't describe things more accurately. If you need clarification I would be glad to try to help anyone understand. As I need to understand this. And I have been told that something has infected my browser. Now, these people telling me this are PC users, and I thought macs were not AS susceptible to infection or virus than PCs.
Thanks for any help or explanations.

No, don't do that. You don't need anti-virus, anti-malware, or any Clean Up utilities, unless you want to spend a lot of time fixing all the damage those things do to your Mac.
The author of JavaScript Blacklist was apparently hosting it on his MobileMe web page, which is no longer available. This guy has it for download: http://37prime.wordpress.com/2012/07/04/casualty-of-mobileme-closure-drew-thaler s-javascript-blacklist-safari-extension/

  • Color shift (color management) issues in Mavericks

Noticed color management lacking for Safari and Dock icons just after Maverick update, but was unable to check it with recalibration. Today X-Rite issued an update for i1 Display PRO and i was able to recalibrate my display, but the problem unsurprisingly wasn't in the display profile.
Bellow are two screenshots of Safari vs. Chrome and FF vs. Chrome respectively.
Color difference is seen with the naked eye, but gray and blue fields' values are also annotated (Safari is on the left, Chrome is on the right).
These are FF (on the left) and Chrome (on the right) with no color difference, both browsers are color-managed.

Issues here too: 2013 Mac Pro, latest Mavericks/browser versions (OS X 10.9.4), and Dell UP2414Q display (known for good color—not to mention the only retina display money can buy).
Safari seems fine: web sites with no color profiles in the images look very much as I am used to from OS X Lion and Windows on other machines (some variation from screen to screen is just life). CSS colors match image colors when they should.
Firefox is ultra-saturated: web sites the look fine in Firefox--and identical to Safari--under OS X Lion (on a different Mac/display anyway) but on the new Mavericks system, colors are eye-burningly saturated! That's CSS and images alike (without color profiles). CSS and image colors still match—but both are WAY oversaturated.
Note: images dragged from Safari and Firefox to my desktop both look fine when opened in Quick Look or Preview. Both (again, images without profiles) look super-saturated like Firefox when opened in Photoshop CC—despite Photoshop having the same settings I'm used to using (color management Off for RGB, working space set to Monitor) on my old Mac with PS CS6 under Lion. Yet the color values in PS CC do register as correct despite looking so bad (same goes when opening my own RGB source PSDs that generated the web sites to begin with).
Shouldn't Safari and Firefox out of the box look alike, since they do in earlier OS versions? (Even if some workaround is found, "out of the box" a new Mac with default Firefox installation now looks terrible.)
Separate but complicating issues, in case it helps to diagnose this:
    a) The Dell display's default calibration looks quite good to me; but if I run Apple's visual calibration steps which I would normally do on a new Mac, everything gets very dark. (So I went back to the default calibration, which is supplied by Apple and called "Dell UP2414Q"; Apple clearly supports this display specifically, since I never installed any Dell software.)
    b) When I take an OS X screenshot of Safari, despite it looking "right" everywhere (Preview and Photoshop CC alike), values are way off. (Regardless of whether I strip the color profile or not when importing the screenshot into Photoshop CC.) When I take a screenshot off Firefox, the screenshot looks "right" (no longer oversaturated!) in Preview and Quicklook. When imported into Photoshop CC, Firefox screenshots behave just like drag-saved images from Firefox: they appear super-saturated just like in the browser, BUT the color values at least register correctly.
    c) No setting I can find for Photoshop CC will make exported images look right (and match CSS colors) in ANY browser unless I accept them being super-saturated while I work on them (which of course is untenable). I'll deal with that separately: I've abandoned the new Mac Pro for Photoshop work and gone back to my old Mac (and PS CS6)--but this I assume to be Adobe's fault. I mention it only in case it's some kind of clue.
For what it's worth, here's my interpretation: Firefox and Photoshop are using the full gamut of the display, while Safari is not—and Safari looks GOOD not using the full gamut. (And at least with this Dell display, it looks "correct" that way.) Pure primary red #FF0000 (images and CSS alike) which appears normal to me in Safari and Preview and Quicklook turns to eye-burning neon red in Firefox and Photoshop (with management Off and working space set to Monitor). It's kind of amazing that the display can show a red even more brilliant than I have ever seen on a computer before, BUT it doesn't help me design web sites for the rest of the world who has a more ordinary gamut.
Maybe this is just a long-standing Firefox bug, revealed to me now that I have a large-gamut display? (But that wouldn't explain why other people have seen colors MORE saturated in Safari then Firefox.)

  • DMGs failing

This is becoming so frustrating. Software Update fails, all Apple DMGs fail to mount (with various errors) and I cannot download anything from iTunes.
I've followed forum after forum, trying various work arounds but still I'm having no success.
I've restored my computer to factory settings twice, tried manual download of Software Updates, accessed private/etc/hosts and adding 80.67.74.160 swcdn.apple.com.
I'm at the end of my tether... can someone help at all?

    Thanks for your attention,
the problem exists in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Opera it happens also with some pdf's. Sometimes I succeed by taking a different sequence. I choose the option "save download as". And than it sometimes work out.
