Screenshots not centered

Let's say I have a window open (say Safari) and stretched out to fill the whole screen and do a screenshot via COMMAND + SHIFT + 4 to capture only a particular window, the resulting PNG file cuts off part of the right side and "adds" to the left side. It seems that when doing a screenshot like this, the "active area" is off centered or shifted from the screen. Is this a known bug in OS X Snow Leopard?
btw, when I do a screenshot via COMMAND + SHIFT + 3 it works fine.
Any insight is appreciated, thank you!

Thanks for the reply!
Was the first screenshot fully stretched out the width of the screen? When I do a portion of the Google search area is cut off on the right; yet there is more "added" space on the left side.
Thanks!

  • My document is not centered on page

    I am running Acrobat 10.0.0, MAC OSX 10.7.2 (Lion), and Indesign CS5.5
    I can not get my document to center on the printed page.
    When I open my PDF document, it appears normally and shows in portrait mode. The document was created as 6.88 in wide x 10.25 in tall.  The Properties of the PDF file for the document correctly show the page size as 6.88 x 10.25.
    When I click on PRINT, the default dialog shows the document correctly but indicates a 8.5 x 11 page size.  I click on the Page set up and select a custom paper size of 6.88 x 10.25 inches and return to main print dialog.
    The print dialog now shows my document and the page dimensions show my newly created page size.  I click auto rotate and center.  The page orientation and size match the document and PDF orientation regardless of auto rotate on or off.  I still select auto rotate and center as I want the centering.
    The print comes out not centered and clipped.  No combination of selections yields a correct print out.  I just can't get my image to center on the output page.
    I can print the same PDF file from Preview with same selections and have no problem with getting the document to center on the page.  I would use Preview as the work flow except preview does not print the document faithfully for color compared to Acrobat.
    Thanks in advance for all help and advice!

    OK,  Mystery solved.  There is no great problem with OSX, CS5.5, etc.  I was the problem.
    I went back and created a document from scratch that was very simple in order to convence myself that a document could print correctly as a simple page.  (basically removed all other variables that might have crept into the file that was frustrating me.)  I created a PDF by exporting as well as printing to the postscript creating "printer" and then distilling the PSD file into a PDF as well as letting Preview convert the file into a PDF.  Point is that I created a PDF various ways.
    I then loaded Adobe Acrobat Pro (10.0) to generate the output.  I found that the Page Set Up button would allow me to overide the default successfully despite the warning.
    The "trick" was to be sure that I had the paper size AND orientation selected correctly in the Print Set Up that matched exatly how I used Print Set Up in InDesign.
    Voila, output as expected.
    The take-a-way for those also frustrated is that there is no great devious problem with the OSX 10.7 or CS5.5 software packages.  The output CAN be obtained just keep playing until you ask the system to do what you want it to do. =)

  • Page not centering and background repeat issue in Safari

    I recently put up a new website. It seems to be working and displaying fine in IE, Chrome and FF. My problem is Safari. The page is not centering (going left) and I'm also having a problem with
    the background image of my FOOTER div not repeating. I'm sure this is something simple (ie:stupid) I did but it just eludes me. The other interesting thing is that the background image for the footer
    (which is the grass image) is actually 1024px wide but it's not displaying it fully or else it's compressing it. Here's a link to the website. Any insights are appreciated. I am using Safari on an iPad if
    that matters.

  • Crystal Reports are not centered when viewing on Crystal Viewer

    Hi
    I´d like to ask you if you reported some problem of using subreports and during the visualization from the Crystal Viewer the main report and of course the subreports are not centered. I´m running Vs.Net 2005 with CR 10.
    The main report and subreports access ADO.NET. Only one parameter is passed by the user. If we test the application and address the visualization to the crystal report viewer it is showed on right side even using DisplayGroupTree = False. But if we export the report to PDF it is showed centered. Is it a way to fix this one?
    Any advice or suggestions?
    Tks,
    Isocler

    When you say you're using v10 with VS2005, do you mean the full CR v10 product or the version that comes with VS.NET 2005 (version 10.2)?  Make sure you're using/referencing the 10.2.* CR assemblies in your project, as the 10.0.* are not supported.
    If you have the correct assemblies referenced, then make sure you have the latest patches applied.  I think there may have been a fix for DIV tags.

  • Top image on blog is not centered but is in Chrome and IE

    I just redid my blog and most of my top images on my posts are way to the right. I've cleared my cache and reloaded but they are still way over. The images are fine in IE and Chrome. Is there a reason my top images are not centered?

    Seems to be fine here. I'm on Linux, so can't check how it looks in IE.
    You can reload the page and bypass the cache with:
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

  • Not centering on stage, why?

    Hello again folks. I've come across a new snag to a previous project. I'm not quite sure why, but when the full image is loaded to the stage, it is not centering it properly. The trace of fullLoader returns "0" for the width and height of the full-sized image, and I'm not quite sure how to pass the necessary information into the showPicture function so that it correctly centers the image. I tried tracing the content of fullLoader and got an error message. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Interactive Image Not Centered

    When I add a new interactive image to a page, then drag-and-drop and image into that widget, the image is not centered within the frame. Rather it is skewed toward left-of-center by about 10%. Changing the image scaling doesn't fix it. Changing the outer dimensions of the widget doesn't fix it. Nothing I've tried will make an image appear centered within the interactive image widget. Any ideas?
    Note that I've tried this only with landscape oriented images on a landscape oriented page -- so I don't know if the issue exists for portrait mode images.

    Hi Schwerd:
    Yeah. I just tried it with a portrait oriented image, and it shifts up in the frame. So what I'm seeing is that, if the image is wider than it is tall, it shifts left of center. And if it's taller than it is wide, it shifts up.

  • JDIalog, HTML Code, setLocationRelativeTo; not centered

    Hi,
    I am building my own modal dialog; it's a JLabel with formatted HTML Code - I only use the bold <b> and break <br> tag in the default font size and -type.
    I use setLocationRelativeTo() to center the dialog to my main JFrame; however, the dialog is not centered, it's shifted down to the right. Even if I just use some letters in my HTML code the dialog isn't centered. Here is my code:
    public class TDDialog extends JDialog implements ActionListener, WindowListener {
         private JPanel exercisePanel, containerPanel;
         private JLabel exerciseLabel;
         private JButton readyButton = new JButton("Ready");
         private JButton showSolutionButton = new JButton("Solution");
         private JTextField solutionTextfield;
         private String solutionString;
         private Font font = new Font("SansSerif", Font.PLAIN, 12);
         public TDDialog(Frame ownerFrame) {
              super(ownerFrame, true);
              addWindowListener(this);
              setTitle("Exercise");
              setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              exerciseLabel = new JLabel();
              exerciseLabel.setFont(font);
              exercisePanel = new JPanel();
              exercisePanel.add(exerciseLabel);
              solutionTextfield = new JTextField();
              solutionTextfield.addActionListener(this);
              containerPanel = new JPanel();
              containerPanel.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              containerPanel.add(readyButton, BorderLayout.LINE_START);
              containerPanel.add(showSolutionButton, BorderLayout.CENTER);
              readyButton.setFont(font);
              showSolutionButton.setFont(font);
              readyButton.addActionListener(this);
              showSolutionButton.addActionListener(this);
              exerciseLabel.setText("<html><body>3 Lines<br><b>3 Lines</b><br>3 Lines<br></body></html>");
              add(exercisePanel, BorderLayout.PAGE_START);
              add(solutionTextfield, BorderLayout.CENTER);
              add(containerPanel, BorderLayout.PAGE_END);
              setResizable(false);
              pack();
              setLocationRelativeTo(ownerFrame);
              setDefaultCloseOperation(DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE);
    // action- and window-listeners...Am I building the JDialog correctly? Is there a better, a more recommended or "nicer" way? Why isn't hte dialog centered?
    Edit: I really would like to assign Duke Stars to my question, however, since the last forum maintenance, I can't do this any more "Server Error
    This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the administrator to look for messages in the server's error log." This happens every time at different PCs with different browsers / versions / proxy-settings.

    Here is the missing part for a SSCCE; I noticed that the modal dialog is centered in relation to the screen, not to the "ownerFrame", although I pass ownerFrame to the setRelativeTo statement.

  • Navigation bar not Centering in Firefox

    Hello all,
    I have a navigation bar that is not centering in all Mozilla-based browsers. When using Internet, Safari, Chrome, Opera etc,,the drop down navigation bar is centred, however browsers such as Firefox show it floated completely to the left.
    This has been an issue for five months. It has been brought to my attention again by my boss. I have tried things like margin-left (and right): atuo; for most of the div blocks and what not. Im still not getting any luck =S
    I assume this problem resolution lies within the CSS files, whether it be the template css, or the spry menu bar horizontal css.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have pasted the css for the dropdown, and the css for the template page.
    Thanks!

  • Poster image not centering in browser

    My poster image (for viewing in IE8) is not centering in the browser window. It's displaying as left aligned with a big gap to the right of the image. How do I fix?

    Thank you Hemanth, that is exactly what I am referring to. One final question though, as I am by no means an HTML guru...do I add the snippet while I'm in Edge or do I open the HTML file in Dreamweaver and add the code there?

  • 13.1 Update Issue- Blackmagic Ultrastudio HDMI Monitor Out not centered

    After the 13.1 update the HDMI monitor output on the Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4k is not centered on the screen. About 2 inches are cut off the right side. I have tweaked AE > Preferences > Video Preview - with Scale to fit being the only setting that shows a image.
    This only occurs on the HDMI out. The SDI output is correct. (Although only with Scale to Fit selected)
    It is only present in After Effects, Premiere monitor output works correctly.
    Any advice? Thanks in advance!
    Specs:
    AE CC 2014.1 release -v 13.1.0.111
    Apple MacPro 6,1 -- 3.7 GHz Quad-Core E5
    AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB
    OSx 10.9.5

                Ok, thats the procedure I was talking about earlier. I did that bios default factory reset just now. First the version 6 and earlier. It didn't work so I tried version 7 and later and that didn't work. I then tried version 6 and earlier again only this time pushed F10 more rapidly and got right in right when I got to the F5 and enter portion. Then I pushed F10 again to save the change and enter again to close. The PC didn't boot up the next screen like the test said it would. So I did it all again and spent some time reading what was on the bios pages but  accidently pushed ESC as the bios menu suggested instead of enter to close out   . No boot up screen again. I did another hard shutdown and then unplugged the cord for 5 minutes and this time the PC stayed off when I plugged it back in. The bios are set to default but I cannot get it to start again in safe mode or boot up. So if the power supply is working properly, and the monitor worked in safe mode, then the video card must be good. right?
              So I'm editing from the night before, its Monday morning here in Wi. and I'm sorry to say that after leaving the PC unplugged all night that when I plugged it back in this morning, the dumb thing started again without pushing the  start button.  So the only thing doing a recovery on the bios accomplished was to prove that my the video card can run the monitor in safe mode which is a good thing I guess. Hope someone has an idea as to what else I can try.-------thanks
