Script Chooses wrong printer in Quark

Hi all
I have this script that I have been trying to use but doesnt seem to be working when once it did. It goes like this:

if printer "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0" exists then set current printer to printer "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0"
get current printer -- debugging
if (current printer is not "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0") then display dialog "Please setup your Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0"
quit
end tell
tell application "QuarkXPress"
tell print setup of document 1
set separation to false
set printer type to "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0"
set paper size to "A3"
set orientation to portrait
set bleed to "3"
set page position to center position
set print spreads to false
set reduce or enlarge to "100%"
set registration marks to centered

But instead of switching to the canon colour it prints from the HP B&W laserjet which is the default.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your script fell thru because of this line:
if (current printer is not "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0") then display dialog "Please setup your Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0"
You are making comparison printer class to string, to correct it:
if (name of current printer is not "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0") then display dialog "Please setup your Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0"

However, that does not explain why current printer didn't set correctly in this line:
if printer "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0" exists then set current printer to printer "Canon ColorPASS-Z3000 PS Ver1.0"
