Script : Crops and name one image

Hello there,
I'm completely new with scrip on photoshop.. I know there is a way to use one image for different crops and name them. There is no batch involve.
Which means :
-Click on the script, a croping open, crop it, got a message saying if the crop is okay, click okay, then a box open, you can choose a name and save, then it follows by two others similar crops.
Sorry, not easy to explain. Is that a plug or a script? or both?
I basically end up using one image for 4 different crops and names, with a file saving like ??_xx_xx_xx_?? (?? : the name I selected, xx : the name of the image)
How to code this, is anyone knows?
Thank you!

While program knowledge would enable you to create a fully automated process you can do what you want to do with an action without any programming.  It can not be done without thinking and planing.  While recording an action is extremely easy to do. Crafting an action like you described takes some knowledge, planning, skill and practice.
Adobe forums like this one is a good place to acquire missing knowledge.  There are many here with a lot of knowledge that are willing to help other learn.
First the thread belongs in the Photoshop General Discussion forum this forum is for users interested in scripting. Scripting is use by a very small subset of Photoshop users with programming skills and is best outside the other main stream forum.
As I wrote I would have no problem crafting an action like you want.  However if I do you learn very little and I think perhaps I just been used.  If you have a problem recording the action you can ask how would some one do this or that.  Then perhaps many would respond with how they woul do something.  You and otheres  would see how other do something. Some of the ways may be better the others.  You can take your pick.  The important to to me is knowledge is being learned and spread.   Photoshop help and support is the pits one of the best Photoshop resources at you disposal are these Adobe forums.
Now I'm going to ask you a favor. Please start a new thread in the Photoshop General Discussion forum where you ask for help crafting the action  you want.  Start be describing the action you want in great detail. Also please read the text file in may crafting action package.  They are written for the advance action creator short perhaps and cryptic but they detail some of the capability of the Actions Palette, contains some good guide lines to follow. Address the issue of document size a problem area many have problem with, It also provide some script written to be used within Actions so the action creator can record better action with some logic in them without the need programming the script.

  • How to undo cropped and rotated RAW images in ACR

Can someone advise on returning to the original RAW image after the image has been edited in ACR.
"Reset Camera Raw Defaults" seems to do everything but undo crops and image rotation.
How do I undo these and/or return to the original unedited image?
    Many thanks

Thanks but how exactly do I find the unedited CR2 within PSE/ACR?
Everytime I open the file in PSE or ACR the edited version comes up and the most original version I can return to is to reset the Defaults.  However, this does not reverse crops and rotations
I have noticed that the original CR2 file is viewable within MS Explorer but I'm reluctant to delete the .xmp as I don't want to loose keywords etc associated with the image.
    Many thanks for any suggestions

  • Lift and Stamp - one image only

I can get Lift and Stamp to work on JPEG images, but it only updates one image. So even if I select 10 and then stamp, only the image with the "thick" white border is updated.
I've read lots of complaints on lift and stamp usability, but i think I'm doing this correctly.

PRECISELY. I was in primary only mode. In this mode you do have to do what I describe, the "select first" doesn't work. Basically the approach I outline gets around "primary only" mode, so I'm arguably exploiting a design flaw.
Better, of course, to turn primary-only off. Then you can select images and click stamp to update them all.
If you type S instead of Ctrl-S for sharpening, you switch modes. I can't find any notice, if I owned Aperture I'd have a prominent string and icon appear in the menubar when switched to primary mode. I'd also remove the sortcut key! I don't think primary mode needs a single letter shortcut.
I figured this out on my own, but if I hadn't you'd have answered it for me. Thanks!

  • Crop and fill with image

    Hello
I intend to use lasso for free style cropping an image, but I want to the fill in that cropped section with another image. I intend to , say crop a dress floral pattern on a sleeve, and fill it with another floral pattern of my choice.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
Here's a quick tutorial for working with masks to replace patterns and textures in an image.
    1) Here's my starting image, and I want to replace the fabric on the pocket of this shirt.
    2) Bring in the pattern you want to incorporate into your original image by copy and pasting or by going to File > Place.
    3) With the pattern layer selected, option + click on the icon marked below to create a mask over the layer. The image will seem to disappear, but this is only because the mask is solid black— black in the mask indicates hidden areas, white areas are where the image will be revealed.
    4) Use the lasso tool to select the area in which you want the pattern to appear.
    5) Being sure the mask is selected in the layers panel, use the paint bucket to fill in the selection area with white. The pattern will appear.
My next steps would then be to paint on the mask with black to reveal the stitched areas and the button on the pocket. Alternatively, as Silkrooster said, you can experiment with blend modes. Below is the pattern layer set to Multiply. Using this setting would work well if you were placing a pattern over a white or light-colored garment. Good luck!

  • HELP!!!!  How to crop and save an image

I recently started using iPhoto when I bought a digital camera. I have figured out pretty much how to use it but I would like to crop AND SAVE some of the pictures. I have gone so far as to crop an image and print it but the print comes out like the original shot. Also is there some way to convert these images into smaller file sizes and saving for uploading onto another website? Thanks in advance! .

  • CROPPING and SAVING makes images disappear

Cropping and saving makes my images disappear in CS5 Extended

I have Mac OS 10.7.5 and Photoshop CS5 Extended. I cropped both a jpeg and tif file/photo
and then saved it - save as and/or save - and the image disappeared. The only thing that was visible was the file title with .jpeg or.tif extension, and the gray box or outline that goes around the image, but also some of the images the thumbnail image was gone too - just a title was visible on the desktop screen where I saved it. Are these images gone? Where are they? Where did they go and how do I get them back? And why is my crop tool and save doing this and how do I fix it?
I was able to make other corrections like using Curves to photos and saved them with no problem. Just the crop tool does makes the images do this after or before I save it
Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • How would I save and name multiple images automatically acquired from a Imaqdx camera?

I have a code that can save images however, there is a need for user input when it comes to saving the images.
    I also attached the code.

    CodeForPictures.vi ‏116 KB

    Hi Theydon,
The number of photos is going to be set by how often you are calling that IMAQdx Snap.  This right now is going to be limited by the prep time between shots.  If you make it so the loop will run more than once a second, you will get more photos.
Secondly, why do you have that while loop around the write to file?  You don't actually need it, and this is probably what is causing the files to skipover those files.  If you would still like to decide whether or not to save the image, you could use a case structure instead of this while loop.

I am scanning in many old photos and there are several photos on one page.... • Trying to subtract one image from another

I am a graduate student in a biology laboratory and I have been given the task to remove autofluorescence from our fluorescent microscopy images and I have found a way to do it, but I would like to improve it.  Unfortunately, I know very little about photoshop (mostly learned by playing around with things).
What I need to do is take two pictures which show the same section of tissue but with different wavelengths of light (one picure in green, one in red) and subtract one image from the other.  So far I have converted the two images to greyscale then did "Apply Image" to subtract image 2 from image 1.  Then I convert Image 1 back to RGB and adjust the channels so I only have one color showing (green).  It has been effective but I would like to adjust things a bit.
First, is there an easy way that I can adjust the brightness/contrast/levels of the image 2 to match the images levels to image 1--both images have certain parts of the image that are conserved.  Can I get photoshop to look at a specific area on image 1 and allow me to adjust that same area in image 2 to the same brightness/intesity?
Second, I tried to make an action for this process, so I can give it to the other people in the lab so they can quickly do the same technique.  When I get to the Apply Image step it asks for the name of the image that I am working with which should change each time I do this technique.  Is there another approach other than using the Apply Image feature which will allow me to subtract image 2 from image 1 that would work in an action.
If you need anymore clarification or an example of the pictures let me know.

Put both images on individulal layers, and set the blending mode of the topmost one to "Difference". Adjust layer transprency as desired.
If you add an adjustment layer, you can link it as a clipping mask to one layer. You can then paint on the associated layer mask to make it only affect certain areas.

  • Crop and Paste

I have a 1.5 x 1.75 black and white 62kb jpeg photo.  It contains a face that I would like to crop out as an elliiptical image (i.e. minus a rectangular outline background) and paste onto another image, Following are the steps I've taken:
    1) Double clicked the layer to make a new transparent background image.
    2) Ued the elliptical marquee tool to surround the face with "marching ants'
    3) Used the select inverse command
    4) Clicked delete
    5) Clicked the face to copy and got an error message stating "Could not complete the Copy command because no pixels are selected".
    6) Incidentally, nothing changes when I use the edite stroke selection command to fill the marching ants with a solid red line (>250 px), before using the select inverse command and after converting the image to RGB.
    7) The only way I've been able to crop and paste the image to-date is by using the standard crop tool, but this leaves me with a rectangular shape, not an oval or round image.
What am I not doing correctly?  I'm using Photoshop Elements 12 on a PC that's running Win 7 Home Premium.
    Thank you.

In Editor, go to the expert tab.
Open picture B, the one you wish to select something from to add to another picture.
Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the object. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the selection to the clipboard
Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
Use the move tool to position object from picture B.
In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and object B on a separate layer.

  • Zoom and pan with Ken Burns and then stop and hold the image

    Hi all,
I'd like to zoom and pan on a photo with Ken Burns and then stop at the "end" -cropping and hold the image there on my project for a few seconds. Is this possible?

    I found a new solution.
I select the ready "Ken Burnsed" photoclip and ctrl-click and choose copy, and then paste the exactly same kind of clip right behind the original. Then i go to the 'cropping, ken burns and rotation'- window, make shure that the start box is on the same crop as the ending of the original clip ( you can switch between start and end crops from the arrow thingy in the corner of the box) , and click crop. There I have the righty cropped stillframe right behind of the original.
I don't know if this is the right method, but it works thanks for everyone for helping, and if you find a better way, please post. I have this thread subscribed.

  • Crop and Resize photo within the COD service in ESS

Anyway to crop and resize photo within the COD webdynpro java component in ESS?

No what i mean is how to allow the user to upload a photo using the COD service but also allow them to crop and resize the image as documented here:
[How to Add Image Crop and Resize Capabilities in Web-Based Applications|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/10ab79a4-1fc2-2b10-29bb-ef9ff6771e72]
The solution above does not use the webdynpro COD service in ESS, it is a portal component with embedded JavaScript which also only stores the photo on portal only (not the infotype in ECC).  I guess I need to figure out how to add these javascript files to the webdynpro COD service in ESS.  Although I don't think Webdynpro Java allows you to add javascript.

  • Crop And Straighten Photos - Changing parameters / Editing Script

Hi. I am currently using the Crop and Straighten Photos automation to crop scans of 10 to 12 maps that are scanned on a large flat bed scanner.
A lot of the plans have rough edges and aren't always completely square. Is it possible to allow a tolerance (eg. 5mm, or 20pixels etc) before cropping each image? I've tried editing a .jsx script that was submitted on this forum (the script was designed to crop more border from the image, as opposed to leaving more image) but this simply added a black border around my image as it enlarged the canvas side once the image had already been cropped.
Instead, I need the selection area to be increased prior to cropping.
Does anyone have an idea on whether I can get a script to do what I am looking for?
Furthermore, if two or more of the maps are joined at all by a hair or a frayed string of canvas from the map's backing then the Crop and Straighten Photos automation considers it to be one map and crops it as only one image. Is there a way of increasing this tolerance to make the cropping process more brutal so to speak?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Christoph.
I'd realised that once i made the post, and yes, the duplicate and flatten parts in the process are unnecessary, they have been removed. The action is set up now so that once it crops the individual images, it closes the main image down, and then saves and closes the individual images. It is setup to save and close 12 images (as this is the most there will ever be in my case), and I set the action to post errors to a log rather than halt, so if there are less than 12 files it will continue and just post an error in the file. It works really well now thanks!!
I then run an action that options each individual file and brings up the "save as" dialog. This is a chance to perform a QA on the image and to save it as the correct name on the plan.
However, the action is currently setup so that it creates a complete new image each time and closes the original. This is the only way I can make the "Save as" dialog point to the new destination as if I simply open and "save as" the original files, the default folder always resets back to the original folder where the cropped images are. I'll have to investigate other methods of opening and renaming the images to help speed this part of the process up.
Thanks so much for your effecient responses. They have been a great help!
    Cheers.

    Hi

you know cs6 starts with histogram in colors mode
I have a hard time with English even though it may native language.  I'm having some problem with what you wrote.
Yes cs6 does not have what Adobe calls conditional actions they put into CC.  That feature more or less an IF statement condition on some document attributes.  Like if document width is greater then document height play action landscape else play action portrait.   With CS6 you need to write one line script to use in actions.  Most of the utility scripts I wrote for use in actions are more complex then a simple if statement.
The way you record scripts is PS is be using Adobe Scriptlistener Plug-in when installed the plug-in records everything you do that can be recorded into two log files one in JavaScript and the other in VBS.  The code generated  works by passing parameters to Adobe Photoshop's Action Manager.  To make scripts toy need to extract the steps you need from one of the log files.    However some thing you can do in Photoshop can not be recorded. And while your right that the scriptlistener plug-in  does not record anything for setting the histograms to RGB channel or Luminosity  channel your wrong when you write the Action Recorder can do it.
However scripts can get the histograms channel data. I have never process a histogram in a script however there is a sample Photoshop Histogram in the Photoshop javascripting guide. That creates a text graph log.
// Function to activate all the channels according to the documents mode
