Script error composing email in outlook

Hello,
I get a script error ("warning unresponsive script") when composing an email in Outlook and only when running in Firefox. I am on the current release (34.0). This problem did not happen right away after going to the current release but much later. Problem was sporadic at first but is now persistent. Trying the stop or continue options do not work. Firefox is stuck in an endless loop. None of the other tabs will work. I have to use TaskMaster to shut down Firefox.
The problem happens only when I'm formatting bullets (numbered, ordered, etc) within the text of the email. The first bullet will compose OK. When I hit enter to compose a second bullet, I will consistently get the unresponsive script error.
The specific script is copied over below.
Script: https://a.gfx.ms/jquery_IxInqeqWhsTYFrwY33VHww2.js:16
I ran the debug program and have attached a screen print of the results.
I presented this problem to the Microsoft Community after searching the site for help. They gave me the standard reply to reset Firefox to the default values and to contact Firefox.
Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

The default font did not cause a script error. So far, we have tried Safe Mode, clearing the cache and on a new account on a different computer.
I am slightly stumped why I cannot reproduce this.
Adding a bullet point and a few more in version 35 is smooth as glass in outlook.com.
Wait! I changed the font to Arial and there was an unresponsive script warning, bingo!

  • Using contractions while composing email in Outlook causes characters/case to change and keyboard to lock

Since upgrading, entering contractions while composing or replying to email in either HTML or plain text results in unintended autocorrection where different characters in uppercase appear and the keyboard locks. My autocorrect instances are unchanged from what they were prior to the upgrade. This error is occurring with other users as there is an open question on Microsoft Answers as well. It does not occur when using other MS Office software. It would be great to find a solution, otherwise my emails are all going to be have to be more formal in tone!

  • How to disable contacts search(Auto Complete) while composing Email from Outlook Web App(OWA) in Local Exchnage server?

In on premise Exchange server (Local Exchange) i want send the email using custom address like [FAX:name@/FN=333] from
Outlook Web App(OWA), while clicking on send button i got the error like "The message can't be sent because at least one recipient isn't valid." so i am unable to submit the email from OWA.
but i am able to send the email using custom address like [FAX:name@/FN=333] from Outlook Web App(OWA) of Office 365 exchange server.
what is difference b/w Local Exchange server OWA & Office 365 OWA?
is there any configuration changes needed for Local exchange server?
so How to disable the searching contacts functionality(auto complete) & error message in OWA of Local exchange server?

    Hi,
What’s your Exchange environment? Exchange 2010 co-existing with Exchange 2013? Can you share your related transport rule here for more analysis? What’s your custom email address format?
I created a custom address like Fax:Winnie@/FN=333 in my tab environment, it returned an error about “The address ‘Fax:Winnie@/FN=333’ is not a valid SMTP address”. Please update your Global Address List in Exchange server and if there is any error log,
please provide more information for further analysis.

  • Java Script error in email sent using extended email notification

We are implementing the extended email notifications for workflow.  We have the workflows being sent to Lotus Notes.  However, when we open the email, we receive the message 'A JavaScript error was encountered while loading a page.  Error on line 35: CallError: window.attachEvent is not a function'.  We are running ECC 5.0.  We get the error in both Lotus Notes 7 and Lotus Notes 8.  If we continue loading the page, the message and attachments are there and we are able to launch the workflow without any problems.  I have searched the OSS Notes, but did not find anything regarding this error.  Has anyone experienced this error, and if so, what did you do to fix it?
    Thanks
    Rochelle

We had it set up for HTML messages.  The HTML messages don't work with Lotus Notes.  Changed to plain text messages and everything is working now.

  • Script error when emailing

When I try and email a pic from the library of iPhoto 5.0.4 I get a "NSArgumentsWrongScriptError" message and though a new message is created in Mail, the pic is not part of the email.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Ajeet,
You've left out an xtra. It's impossible to tell which one
    from your
description. I'll guess that its a scripting xtra, possibly a
    third
    party xtra.

  • Changing display size on "Compose Email Page" in Outlook

I am faced with a weird problem that has made my life miserable while using my Lenovo T430 machine. On the compose email page in outlook I must have hit some key combo coupled with some action on the trackpad and the fonts in the compose email became soooo small that I needed a magnifying glass to see them.
Can someone please help me restore the settings to normal. I would be truly grateful.

In addition to the above is there a list of shortcut key combos that work with the trackpad in this particular model? I would idebted for life is someone can help me out here.

  • Script Error on web pages and email

I have looked at your solutions and they don't seem to work for me so I will tell my story. I have a HP Photosmart Premium Model 309A print-scan-copy-fax working with Windows 7 and IE9. My Hp black cartridges stopped working and I replaced all of them with new HP. Still couldn't get the black to print anything but gray so i used the Hp doctor uninstalled and downloaded the  recommended driver and software. When I finished I printed a fax test and all seemed to be well until I tried to print a picture from an email. Got the script error:
Line 2072, Char: 1, Error: unspecified, code: 0, URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js
Then I tried to print something from the web and got these two:
    URI: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/jspellEvolution/jspellEvolution.js
    URI: http://mail.yimg.com/zz/combo?/kx/ucs/common/js/131/jsonp-super-cached-min.js&kx/ucs/avatar/js/21/av...
I have worked all day trying to figure out what to do to make this thing print right but no luck. The printer is not quite 2 years old but if you can't help it will go on the junk heap.....so hope there is a solution out there!
This is a 32 bit so I can't use that fix and it is debugged so that isn't the fix. What else?
    thanks for your input.
    This question was solved.

I'm betting that there is an error caught in the browser's cache that's causing it to fail for scripting errors. Click on the image of the gear under the red X in the upper right-hand corner of the window. Select Internet options from the list. On the General tab, under the Browsing History section, click on delete. Make sure that every check box is checked (you can leave passwords unchecked if you use IE to remember your passwords). Click Delete. Click OK to close the Internet Options window. Close the browser. Wait about 15 seconds. Open the browser and it should work better.

  • Outlook 2011 screen loses focus / priority when composing email

When composing an email in Outlook 2011, the screen changes from being the priority / primary focus...and it's driving me nuts.  I am using an external keyboard/mouse so it's not an issue where I am hitting the trackpad.  When typing, the email window stays in the foreground; however, the focus is a different window...so it just "bonks" at me as I type the email...having to reach over to my mouse, click at the end of the sentence and continue typing.  Has anyone else run across this?  Any ideas?  Running OSX 10.8, 2.7GHz MBP Core i7 with 8GB RAM

Here is a link with a couple work arounds http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1180706. Also it appears that the issue is known as well as the cause. Thought I'd share this is driving me nuts.

  • 0x80040119 - Unknown Error when deleing an email in Outlook / OWA

I've found this article and I don't believe that it applies to me: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814441/en-US
    Here's the issue:
We have had several people with this issue, we do not use PST files. We're on Exchange 2010 and all clients have Outlook 2010 SP1. I have Outlook 2013.
Several people cannot delete _certain_ emails from Outlook or OWA. In Outlook they get "Unknown error - 0x80040119" -- In OWA: "Some items cannot be deleted. They were either moved or already deleted, or access was denied."
I have granted my self "Full Access" to their Inbox and get the same error in Outlook 2010, 2013 and OWA. Cached mode is disabled, I tried in with it enabled as well. This happens on multiple computers as well so it's not the Outlook profile.

    Hi,
Thanks for sharing the thread. And I'm glad that the issue is resolved.
Just for reference to other users, it is a known issue about Exchange 2010 SP2 RU6 or SP3. Here is a KB descripted details about the issue:

  • Make text field (email address) link to popup outlook to compose email

    Hi all
We have a contact management system, and when the person's record has been clicked. His detail will shown up. (Name, Address, Email, Contact)
Is anyone know how to make the field of Email address a hyper link so that the outlook can pop up when you click that link to compose email directly with the predefined email address?
I've tried to search in the type of the field but cannot find anything related to URL. Will the AJAX be involved in this issue?
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
    Try the suggestion below -
set email field DISPLAY AS TEXT (Does not save state)
    under the source section
Source used: Always replacing any existing value in session stateIn the Source type
    select SQL
in the alternate source section type your query -
    SELECT '<a href="mailto:' || email || "></a>'
    FROM table_name
WHERE pk_id = :P1_PK_ID;change above attributes as per your table. Make sure you set the where condition to primary key to fetch this field. click on save changes and it should give you the email link now
    Hope this helps

  • Open email & top of bar says fire fox not responding & get script error on page asking to stop script or continue. Loading most mail or sites is slow now that I returned from Japan and using same laptop. Any ideas?

my laptop stops responding when I open email right in the middle of writing email or checking email and when I open bookmarks. Up the top it says firefox not responding and a script error block opens asking me to continue or stop script. It give me this same error all the time no matter if I select continue or stop script.

As far as email sites go. The "Adblock Plus" extension with at least the "EasyList US" filter subscription would probably help. I does block a lot of unnecessary Script files whose sole purpose is to provide advertising. You can of course add additional filter subscriptions or filters of your own.
There are many extensions that can cause such problems, and you may have to go through your extensions.
One thing you might do is eliminate Problematic Extensions that you are not using, but mainly check to see how the create problems and you may have to make a choice between extensions. The Unresponsive Script Warning page lists some extensions with problems (thought it listed more) and describes how to check through your extensions to help find which extension is the problem Sometimes the message will tell you.

  • Script error print from win7 64+ IE9 email + web sites to o jet 4500 wireless

when printing to Officejet 4500 wireless E mail or from most web sites running  win 7  home premium 64bit and IE9 dose not print and gets a script error or just dose not print but print works fine from word or any other program using wireless or USB

It appears that the issue is isolated to IE 9 since it works from everything else.
View Microsoft's You receive a script error and are unable to print from Internet Explorer 9 document regarding this issue.
Windows 7 64-bit has two versions of Internet Explorer:  32bit and 64bit.  Check to see if you are using the 32bit version or the 64bit version.  This can be done by clicking the blue circle with the questions and selecting About Internet Explorer.  If the version line does not specify 64bit, then it is 32bit.  I recommend using the 32bit version as 64bit web browsing has not quite taken off yet.
The document from Microsoft says to ensure the drivers are the most recent.  The most recent drivers from HP for the Officejet 4500 and Windows 7 64bit can be found here.
I recommend using one of the workarounds listed in the document as script errors are typically a result of a compatibility issue with the site and some function of the browser (whether an add-on or bit version).
