Script Error on Save

In Flash CS3, I can make a trivial movie with a single frame
script as "stop();" and it syntax checks fine. If I save it and
(without reloading) the syntax check says there are script errors
listed in the error pane, but it is empty.
I can load a FLA and it will have the same problem, If I cut
and paste the script into a new FLA it works great until I save
then no good...
This happens EVERY time, so I am completely stuck.

Hi Ryno,
We has been through to this error, but i can't give you expalnation why... because when we try to re-simulate we never even close to the root cause.
your script might loss some how, please back up periodically. just do the restore the script when it shown up.
cheers and hope helps.

  • Scripting error when I save an Office 2003 document on a sharepoint 2007 infrastructure

    Hi,
    We have a local intranet based on a sharepoint 2007 where we store office 2003 documents. When we want to save changes on these documents, a scripting error appears like :
    Line : 11727
    Char : 12
    Error : Unable to get value of the property 'length' : object is null or undefined
    Code : 0
    URL : https://intranet/_layouts/1036/bform.js
    Do you want to continue running scripts on this page ?
    We need to click several times on Yes  button to be able to save the document.
    We have been able to fix this problem by repairing Office 2003 client, but when a new user logs on the computer, the problem gets back on his profile (then a new repair from this profile fixes the issue).
    We want to know if there is another solution, because we have 600+ clients which will encounter this issue and it will bother us to repair each Office 2003 client on each computer, specially during a Windows 7 migration process.
    Our environment :
    Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9 / Office 2003 Std / Sharepoint 2007
    Thanks

    I figured out a method to finally install Office 2010 bypassing the error stated in the title, by manually removing all the keys that included the term "Office 2003" from the Windows registry.
    I share my fix with more details and pictures step by step here :
    Link
    Please note that you need to be very careful when manually editing the Windows registry as it may cause problems to your operating system and even cause a massive failure requiring you to re-format your disk.
    Feel free to use my fix at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any damage caused or data loss.

  • Why is there some "chrome-script" error everytime I right-click to save something?

    Same problem as many others have posted, with no solution. Every time I right-click to save something (like a website picture) I get this annoying error about needing to stop some script: "chrome://global/content/contentAreaUtils.js:910"
    Then Mozilla either: 1) doesn't respond; or 2) says it's "Solved" when it's not, like here:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/640519?s=history&as=q
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == ...ever I right-click to save something.

    SOLUTION IN BRIEF
    I had problems with the chrome://global/content/contentAreaUtils.js:910 script, which I solved by disabling the Add-on Plugin named Google Update 1.2.183.9. In the Tools menu select Add-ons, select Plugins, find Google Update 1.2.183.9, and select Disable. Caution: this may not be the best solution, as disabling an Add-on stops it from doing what it is supposed to do.
    SOLUTION IN DETAIL
    PROBLEMS
    A number of people have posted problems relating to the scripts chrome://global/content/contentAreaUtils.js:910 and chrome://global/content/bindings/browser.xml:187
    Problems reported include Firefox opening slowly and/or with an "unresponsive script" message, web pages loading slowly, and script errors occurring when trying to save images or download things.
    PREVIOUSLY SUGGESTED SOLUTION
    Previous posters on this or other threads have suggested the problem is caused by an Add-on. (Add-ons are found in the Tools menu. There are three kinds: Extensions, Themes, and Plugins.) They suggest following [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]] to identify the particular Add-on that is causing the problem, and to update it (if it is out of date) or to disable it.
    However, [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] directs you to identify the offending Extension or Theme randomly, sorting through them one by one until you find the offender. This can be time consuming if you have a lot of them. [[Troubleshooting plugins]] better suggests to start by honing in on a particular suspect Add-on.
    SUGGESTED SOLUTION: SUSPECT GOOGLE ADD-ONS
    I noted that both scripts people report problems with start with "chrome,” so I suspected the problem Add-On would be from Google and have something to do with their Chrome browser. Using the Tools menu I looked through my Add-Ons and found only two related to Google. One was downloaded after the problems started so I ignored it. The other is the Plugin named Google Update 1.2.183.29.
    I tried to update it via Find Updates in the Add-ons window. This launched Mozilla Plugin Check, which lists Google Update 1.2.183.9 as “Unable to Detect Plugin Version.” Clicking “Research” did not yield any easy to find information about a newer version, so I chose to Disable the update entirely via the Add-ons window. Firefox now runs fine.
    Note that disabling an Add-on will stop if from doing what it is supposed to do. I do not know what Google Update 1.2.183.9 does and could not readily find anything definitive about it in the Research results, although one person said, “There are several parts of Firefox which are updated by Google. One is the security ‘blacklist’ for spoofed sites and another is the Google Search in the navigation bar. The update may be for something else. Look in your about:config file and see if there's something added over and above the search and security. Might not hurt to see what the Google update plugin is linked to.”

  • Script error message when printing google maps driving direction into PDF

    My system; Win 7/ 64bits/IE 9 both 32 and 64 bits/Adobe Acrobats 10.1.1. Pro
    Intial problems in printing web sites into PDF files has been resolved when I upgraded into 10.0.1 after having installed IE9.
    However, with 10.1.1. version, I noticed that when I tried to convert google maps results for a driving direction (From A to B), script error message showed up and I could not convert it into PDF. I tried both IE 9 32bits and 64 bits version, but both failed to do it. Please fix the problem for the next updates.
    Thanks

    You might try running CHKDSK on the disk to where you try to save the file. You might have a corrupted file directory or a damaged track on that disk. I urge you to backup what you can before trying this.

  • Skydrive Pro doesn't remember saved credentials (FBA) and gives "script error" on login

    I'm having some trouble with authentication with Skydrive Pro and an on-premises Sharepoint Foundation 2013 deployment.
    Sharepoint is configured with forms-based authentication to an AD LDS instance using a 3rd party LDAP provider.
    There are two issues:
    1) Skydrive Pro doesn't appear to save credentials - After a while (or frequently after a reboot), Skydrive Pro will re-prompt the user for credentials. Checking the "Remember me" box appears to have no effect. The site is in IE's trusted site list
    with the "Logon with current user/password" option checked. Are there any other steps I should be taking to make Skydrive Pro permanently save credentials?
    I have seen a few pages about changing the "timeout" setting in a web.config file, but I'm not sure which of the many web.config files I would use. The <authentication mode="Forms"> blocks that I found while looking through didn't
    have a timeout attribute set at all. I've also read something about setting the SlidingExpiration attribute, but am also unclear whether that's related or where I would go about putting it.
    2) Skydrive Pro presents the normal Forms-based log-in page in a new window to the user to enter their credentials. After entering them, the window doesn't close - instead, the window tries to render the home page of the sharepoint site. It only shows the
    colored top bar and a button that says "Skip Ribbon Commands." It then presents a pop-up titled "Script Error" from the browser that says:
    An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: 150
    Char: 1
    Error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object
    Code: 0
    URL: http://domain.com/_layouts/15/start.aspx
    It asks whether to continue running scripts on the page. If the user closes the popup and the browser window, Skydrive Pro appears to work and sync as normal - but the error messages are annoying and scary to the end user.
    Line 150 from the referenced start.aspx:
    <a href="javascript:;" onclick="document.getElementById(&#39;startNavigation&#39;).focus();" class="ms-accessible ms-acc-button" accesskey="Y">Skip Ribbon
    Commands</a>
    Any way to remedy this?
    Any help is appreciated.

    tejo11,
    Script errors like this can happen with IE and while uncommon are not unheard of. With the print and scan doctor coming back fine we can move to troubleshooting the browser where the error originates. If you would like try using a different browser as a temporary workaround and use this microsoft guide for troubleshooting the script error you are getting: http://goo.gl/k7aTU
    Best of Luck!

  • Capturing fileio script errors

    Howdy, I need a little help getting these pesky "script
    errors" to keep from popping up.
    I am using fileio to save preferences. Everything works fine
    unless there is a permission problem. In this case, Director just
    pops up a "script error".
    Instead of that message popping up on error, I would like to
    replace with with my own message, something like "cannot write
    file, permission denied". Simple enough but I'm not sure what lingo
    I use to trap the error and keep it from popping up with the script
    error. My lingo is...
    io = new Xtra("fileio")
    path = the pathname & "ndata.txt"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    io.delete()
    io.createFile(path)
    io.openFile(path,0)
    gameprefs = pName & "," & AA & "," &O_Buffer
    io.writeString(string(gameprefs))
    --io.writeString(string(pName))
    io.closeFile()
    Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

    It's not clear which line of code is throwing an error, and
    it would
    help if you included details of the error message in the
    future.
    Try the following, and see which line is the last in your
    message window
    when the error dialog presents:
    put "instancing xtra"
    io = new Xtra("fileio")
    path = the pathname & "ndata.txt"
    put "openFile"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    put "delete"
    io.delete()
    put "createFile"
    io.createFile(path)
    put "openFile: 2"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    gameprefs = pName & "," & AA & "," &O_Buffer
    put "writeString"
    io.writeString(string(gameprefs))
    --io.writeString(string(pName))
    put "closeFile"
    io.closeFile()
    I would also suggest you add some error trapping - or at
    least
    monitoring - of calls to FileIO by using its 'status()'
    method:
    put "instancing xtra"
    io = new Xtra("fileio")
    path = the pathname & "ndata.txt"
    put "openFile"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    put io.status(), io.error()
    put "delete"
    io.delete()
    put io.status(), io.error()
    put "createFile"
    io.createFile(path)
    put io.status(), io.error()
    put "openFile: 2"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    put io.status(), io.error()
    gameprefs = pName & "," & AA & "," &O_Buffer
    put "writeString"
    io.writeString(string(gameprefs))
    put io.status(), io.error()
    --io.writeString(string(pName))
    put "closeFile"
    io.closeFile()
    put io.status(), io.error()

    I have reinstalled scanner software and repaired disk permissions using the disk utility.
    HP tell me it is most likely an OS scripting error.
    Anyone got any Ideas how I get my scanner working?
    thanks

    Hello 28uhe,
    Have you been using this model scanner on Windows 7 specifically for a while or is this the first time you have attempted to use that scanner on Win7?
    This is just my humble opinion and am offering this as part of general troubleshooting steps.
    Officially, there are no drivers for Windows 7 to download and install because it is not supported beyond Vista.
    I believe that it has worked for others via a generic driver install from Windows update though.
    Its possible that generic driver has become corrupted possibly (again guessing since I cannot see your computer).
    The first thing I would do is...
    If you can access another computer, connect the scanner to it and see if the problem still exists.
    IF the Scanner does the same thing on a different computer, then its toast. IF it works as it should, then you can go back to your Win7 machine and continue troubleshooting.
    Let me know if you can try this first. It may save a bunch of unnecessary work.
    Toredo tunneling shouldnt have anything to do with your scanner as its for IPv6-capable hosts which are on the IPv4 Internet. So that should be totally unrelated. What troubleshooting program did you use that found this error?

  • TMG Management Console Script Error

    Hello
    I am receiving a script error when I am trying to access the TMG Management Console. I have uploaded a screenshot of the error message here:
    http://imageupload.org/?d=4D9EC4081
    I hope it works :)
    OS: 2008 R2 SP1
    TMG Standard 2010 SP1
    Virtual server on Citrix XenServer 5.6

    Other option is to edit a file.
    * Open "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway\UI_HTMLs\TabsHandler\TabsHandler.htc"
      * Search for the 3 lines which contain "paddingTop", and remark-out each of them by adding "//" in the begining.
      Example: Change the line:
    m_aPages [niPage].m_tdMain.style.paddingTop = ((m_nBoostUp < 0) ? -m_nBoostUp : 0) ;
      into:
    // m_aPages [niPage].m_tdMain.style.paddingTop = ((m_nBoostUp < 0) ? -m_nBoostUp : 0) ;
      * Save the file, and re-open TMG management console.
    AFter that TMG will work in IE9
    This solution works very fine and is a lot more efficient than downgrading IE.

  • Scripting error on Portal!

    Dear gurus,
      I am calling a URL iview on my EP 6.0. When I look at the preview of the iview, it appears fine. When I assign it to a workset and then to a role, it is giving a scripting error. The error goes like this: "Object does'nt support this object or method". However if I see it in separate window, again it is working fine. The URL is basically pointing to a BEx report deployed SAP Netweaver 04s WAS.

    Thanks for the kind thumbs up!
    And with the recent purchase of the star wars franchise by Walt Disney, it's very possible we will see a new Star Wars movie in the not too distant future (or should I say in a galaxy not too far away?).  So I'm actually looking forward to the possibility
    of another star wars sequel and that would be lots of fun!
    As for the script errors? Unfortunately, I don't think there is a solution.
    You can check + ensure that the options in Internet explorer (advanced) are set to ensure that script errors and script debugging is disabled. However, THESE SETTINGS DO NOT carry over from Internet explorer into the web control on an access form. And in
    fact you might even be using Firefox browser or something else. The web control in Access has a relative high degree of independence from your actual browser setting or even what Browser you're currently using. (and in most cases this is a good thing!).
    This is a native control to Access.
    If you're receiving the script errors without the user doing anything at all in that browser, I don't think you have much choice here (you can check the scriipt setttings in IE, but to my knowledge they do NOT apply). You have to see if the admin of the
    web site can clean up the HTML to eliminate such errors.
    Another possbile is to as others here suggest - launch the browser external as hyper link.

  • I keep getting "Unresponsive Script" errors in random "jsm" files several times a day. Why?

    Several times a day I get "Unresponsive Script" popups as I browse the internet. They're almost always different. Sometimes its in tabbrowser, sometimes it has something to do with a YouTube page I have open, and sometimes it occurs when I try to save a file with the built-in download manager.
    I don't know why it does this so often. I don't have many Addons.
    I also copied the technical information about my browser to help out if it can identify why these Unresponsive Script Errors keep appearing.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")<br />
