Script Logic - Prior Command

Hi,
I want to perform this calculation for a budget application.
Jan= ((Value for base member ) *  30% (value obtained with Get command for Cuenta=14000)) /12
Feb= ( (value for base member) * 30% (get)/12) + Jan value (previous month value)
Mar=  the same calculation + Feb value (previous month value)
This part  calculates the first value without trouble:
*WHEN CUENTA
*IS I001
*REC(EXPRESSION=(%VALUE% * GET(METRICAS="PORDEPRE",VERSION="NAVER",AREA="NAAREA", MONEDA="NAMON",CUENTA="14000"))/12,CUENTA="I009")
Example:
value for base member I001 :  $50 ( 2010.Jan)  -  after the previous calc  =  (50 * 0.3 )/12 =  1.25
value for base member I002 : $20 (2010.Feb) = (20 * 0.3) / 12 = 0.5
Im having trouble to sum the value from the previous month using the PRIOR command...
*XDIM_MEMBERSET TIEMPO=PRIOR(1),%SET%
*WHEN TIEMPO
*IS PRIOR
*WHEN CUENTA
*IS I002
*REC(EXPRESSION=(%VALUE% * GET(METRICAS="PORDEPRE",VERSION="NAVER",AREA="NAAREA", MONEDA="NAMON",CUENTA="14001"))/12,CUENTA="I010")
*REC(EXPRESSION=GET(CUENTA="I010") + GET(TIEMPO=PRIOR),CUENTA="I010")
In the last sentence, im trying to obtain the value  (0.5)  and sum the one from Jan (1.25)
Thanx in advance.

Hi,
This is the script adapted to my "cuenta and category"....  but there is an error related to PRIOR.
*SELECT (%BUDGETYEAR%, YEAR, "VERSION", "ID = 'BUDGET'")
*FOR %PERIOD% = JAN,FEB,MAR,APR,MAY,JUN,JUL,AUG,SEP,OCT,NOV, DEC
*XDIM_MEMBERSET CUENTA = I010
*XDIM_MEMBERSET TIEMPO = %BUDGETYEAR%
*WHEN TIEMPO
*IS %BUDGETYEAR%.%PERIOD%
REC(EXPRESSION=((%VALUE%0.3)/12)+GET(TIEMPO=TIEMPO.PRIOR),TIEMPO=%BUDGETYEAR%.%PERIOD%)
*ENDWHEN
*COMMIT
*NEXT
Validation status of executable file: Failed
- invalid fields for dim TIEMPO:PRIOR
Validation status of syntax: Success
PRIOR is not a property, am i correct ?
Is there another form to declare this ?
Thanx

  • Some script logic commands not supported any longer

Hello, it seems like Prior, *APP(in runallocation), *Name in runallocation...these commands are no longer supported in MS 7.5. I ran the same script logic under MS 5.1 it passes validation in script logic. but in 7.5 it gives error. please advise. thanks.

    Hi Tom
I don't see where you define or set value for #TEMP_REV and #TEMP_VIS
    something like
    *WHEN CATEGORY.FLAG
    *IS = Y
      *REC(CATEGORY=#TEMP_VIS)
    *ELSE
      *REC(CATEGORY=#TEMP_REV)
    *ENDWHEN

  • *Prior statement in script logic

    Hi,
I'm getting started with script logic and I'm trying to create a record that will be the result of the current amount in a specific account minus the amount for the same account in the previous period.
I was thinking to use a "prior" statement, but not really sure how to do that. Do somebody could write me an example that would sbustract my current amount minus the amount from the previous period where the account is the same in a sql logic?
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi,
    This should do the trick.
    *INCLUDE SYSTEM_CONSTANTS.LGL
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIMEDIM=PRIOR,%TIME_SET%
    *XDIM_Member DataSrc=INput
    *WHEN *
    *IS *
    *REC(EXPRESSION=GET(DATASRC="INPUTSAP",TIME=PRIOR)-GET(DATASRC="INPUTSAP"),NOADD,DATASRC="Movement")
    *ENDWHEN
    *commit

  • Next, Prior Time in Script Logic

    Hi there,
I have a problem about script logic. I have 2 monthly rate types. One of them is end-of-period rate(EPR) and other is average rate(AR). i want calculate average rate(AR) summing two consecutive end-of-period rate, dividing 2. But i donu2019t know how can i get previous end-of-period rate. I used prior and next(-1) but it does not work. Can you explain it how can i do this?
    Example;
    --Jan-Feb---Mar
    EPR -2-3----4
    AR----22,5--3,5
    *WHEN KUR_ACCOUNT
    *IS EPR
    *WHEN TIME.MONTHNUM
    *IS 1
    *REC(KUR_ACCOUNT=AR)
    *ELSE
    *REC(EXPRESSION=(%VALUE% + GET(TIME=NEXT(-1)) / 2, KUR_ACCOUNT=AR)
    *ENDWHEN
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
    Thanks in advance.

What version and support package of BPC do you work on?  In BPC 7.5 a new time offset is possible with the keyword TMVL.

  • SQL functions in Script Logic

I want to build a script logic but the dimensions that I am testing do not have the fields I want in the format I want. In my case I would like to test the "Start" property in the Employee dimension. The property represents the employee start date but is a var char in the format dd.mm.yyyy rather thna a date field. I want to test whether it is five years prior to the date being processed.
My time dimension has a year property and a monthnum property. Each of these are varchar. I can write SQL that would convert these to a date and compare them with the start property on the employee dimension.
Can I  do iinsert SQL functions in the When statement. An example would be
    *When convert(datetime, substring(employee.start,4,2) + '/' + substring(employee.start,1,2) + '/' + substring(employee.start,7,4))
Can I use  SQL functions in the Is statement? An example would be
    *Is <DateAdd(YY,-5 , convert(datetime, Time.Monthnum + '/01/'' + time.year)
Finally when I use such techniques and look at the log by using "show log" in the logic debugger I see no reference to the SQL I used. It is as if the generated SQL has not made use of my functions. Instead all I seee are the extract statements from the three fact tables. Is this normal? Is there a way to see what SQL is really being generated and run?
At the moment it seems my only option is to make changes, try running it and hope I get an output. If no records are written I can't be sure whether it is because embedding SQL function is not supported or because I have made some other error.

No, the "BPC SQL" script logic doesn't allow for this extensive use of real SQL within the scripting syntax. As a concept, it's best to think of "BPC SQL" script logic as, "this unique BPC logic syntax will generate real SQL code when it's executed."
There's very little real SQL that you can use within the syntax itself, and definitely not within the WHEN or IF statements.  Nothing like cast, convert, substring, etc. (Except you CAN use these, a little bit, in a *SELECT statement. But I don't see how that will solve your current problem.)
Plus, when you consider how the logic engine processes a set of data, it's helpful to think of it in terms of selects & reading through a recordset. So in that regard, a SQL background can be helpful, in understanding the concepts. (Sort of helpful, except when it confuses you, or frustrates you since you don't have all the power you want.)
Anyway, to solve your problem, you might be able to restate the problem, and then use something like this code, which is valid syntax:
    *WHEN TIME.TIMEID
    *IS >= VERSION.FirstPlanMonthTimeID
In this case, FirstPlanMonthTimeID is set up in the version dimension as, for example, 20090400 (representing 2009.APR). This timeID is set by BPC automatically when processing the time dimension, and I need to ensure that my Version property value is set to match it.
A key point is that in BPC fact tables, the time dimension is stored as TIMEID (not ID, unlike all the other dimensions), and can be used for comparative evaluation in script logic WHEN/IF. The comparison property needs to be stored as an 8-digit integer value. If your time dimension has days in it (along with months), check the TIMEID after processing, and you should see the pattern for assigning values to TIMEID for days and months, etc.
Normally, TIMEID is assigned pretty sensible and stable values. If it doesn't meet your logic requirements, you can create another property (be careful of USERTIMEID, since that has a specific purpose in the system which I've never fully understood) and assign that whatever (integer) values make sense.

  • BPC 7.5 MS SP5 wrong numbers multiplying GET (A)*GET(B) in script logic

    Hi experts,
We are migrating from BPC 5.1 MS to 7.5 MS SP5 and there have some scripts that are using GET function that retrieve wrong numbers. Particularly, it does not record the decimals figures.
Example1 (multiply): when A=2,3 and B=4,4, then AB=10,12. But doing this in script logic GET(A)GET(B)=10. It does not write the decimal figures.
Example2 (addition): when A=2,3 and B=4,4, then AB=6,7. But doing this in script logic GET(A)GET(B)=6. It does not write the decimal figures.
Particularly, the script we are executing is the following. This script worked ok at 5.1 but not at 7.5:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNTL= INFLA_AUX,INFLA_ACUM
    *XDIM_NOSCAN ACCOUNTL = INFLA_ACUM
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=%CATEGORY_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CURRENCY=LC
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TECHNOLOGY = %TECHNOLOGY_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET PEM=DESCENDANTS([PEM].[PEMTOT],999,LEAVES)
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME=DESCENDANTS([TIME].[XXXX.TOT],999,LEAVES)
    *CALC_EACH_PERIOD
    *WHEN ACCOUNTL

         *WHEN TIME.YEAR

                *IS < PEM.YEAR

    Hello,
    We have solved this issue.
First, we have change the script:
    *SELECT(%PEM_APLICA%,[ID],PEM,"APLICA='Y'")
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNTL=PROD_AUX,DISP_INP,HORA_AUX,CAPAC_AUX
    *XDIM_NOSCAN ACCOUNTL= PROD_AUX
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=%CATEGORY_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CURRENCY=LC
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TECHNOLOGY=DESCENDANTS([TECHNOLOGY].[RENOVABLES],999,LEAVES)
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET PEM=%PEM_APLICA%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME=<ALL>
    *WHEN ACCOUNTL
    *IS CAPAC_AUX
    //*IS *
         *WHEN SIGNEDDATA
         *IS <> 0
    REC(ACCOUNTL="PROD_AUX",NOADD,EXPRESSION=GET(ACCOUNTL="CAPAC_AUX")* GET(ACCOUNTL="DISP_INP")* GET(ACCOUNTL="HORA_AUX"))
         *ELSE
    *REC(ACCOUNTL="PROD_AUX",NOADD,EXPRESSION=0)
    *ENDWHEN
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
And we have change the regional settings to "English (United States)".
    Many thanks for your answer.

  • Clarification required in Script Logic

    Hi All,
I had written a Script logic which copies the data from one dimension member of entity to another entity.
The script that we used is pasted here for reference:
"//Logic for Revenue Transfer for one account to account
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY = BUDGET
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET P_ACCT = REV000003, REV000007, REV000008
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET P_ACTIVITY = P_ACTIVITY_NONE
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET P_DATASRC = U
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ENTITY = U_RCL_INP, U_MFG_INP, U_FSI_INP, U_ECS_INP, U_KS_INP, U_INDIA_INP, U_BIZP_INP, U_SI_INP
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET INTCO = I_U_RCL, I_U_MFG, I_U_FSI, I_U_ECS, I_U_KS, I_U_INDIA, I_U_BIZP, I_U_SI
    //Revenue Transfer from P_ACCT REV000003 to P_ACCT REV000004
    *WHEN P_ACCT
    *IS "REV000003"
    *REC(FACTOR=1,P_ACCT=REV000004 ,INTCO=ENTITY.INTCO,ENTITY=INTCO.ENTITY)
    //Revenue Transfer from P_ACCT REV000007 to P_ACCT REV000012
    *IS "REV000007"
    *REC(FACTOR=1,P_ACCT=REV000012 ,INTCO=ENTITY.INTCO,ENTITY=INTCO.ENTITY)
    //Revenue Transfer from P_ACCT REV000008 to P_ACCT REV000009
    *IS "REV000008"
    *REC(FACTOR=1,P_ACCT=REV000009 ,INTCO=ENTITY.INTCO,ENTITY=INTCO.ENTITY)
    *ENDWHEN"
The above script logic is not working if the user doesnt have access to the other entity to which data is copied into.
However, as per our business requirement, we need to restrict the access to the users to thier respective entites.
Hence, i would be glad to know, How can I overcome this limitation, or, how can I bypass the authorization through script logic??
Let me know incase you require any further information about the issue.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Chandra

  • Conditional Checking in Script Logic

Could anyone please kindly enlightened me how I could code the following in the script logic?
    Scenario:
    IF A > 0, THEN B = C * D
I have tried with SELECTCASE statement statement but all wouldn't work, I keep getting errors...
    SELECTCASE:
    *SELECTCASE [P_ACCT].[0005]
    *CASE > 0
             *REC(EXPRESSION= ([P_ACCT].[0004] * [P_ACCT].[0003]), P_ACCT=0001)
    *ENDSELECT
    Error:
    UJK_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION:Unknown or unimplemented keyword "*REC(EXPRESSION=IIF([MATERIAL].[LDG0005]=>0,([MATE"...
Thank you very much in all advances.
    Best regards,
    Yen Li

    Hi Yen Li,
Applying SELECTCASE - ENDCASE combination would not produce the desired results. Instead, use Validation Business Rules - by setting up Validation Rules and Validation Rules Details and run the Stored Procedure SPRUNVALID from the Default Logic to execute these validation rules. Call the Stored Procedure by the following syntax:
    RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNVALID(u2018applicationu2019,u2019categoryu2019,u2019currencyu2019,u2019%SCOPETABLE%u2019,u2019%LOGTABLE%u2019)
Your command: u201CIf P_ACCT.0005 is > 0, multiply P_ACCT.0004 by P_ACCT.0005 and post the product in P_ACCT.0001. Otherwise do not do anything.u201D will be shown in result!

  • Handling Ranges in Script Logic

    Hi Experts
Is it possible to put logic to check a range of values in Script Logic.
For example, if I need to check if the value in Quantity Account is between 200 and 800, then only some Quantity Discount is calculated against this.
What command should one use for this
Any input would be very helpful.
    Regards
    Krishnendu

    Hi Krishnendu,
I believe that you can use MDX or a BADI to do this. Using MDX, for example, the following should write 100 to the QUANT_DISC account in the event that QUANTITY is greater than 200 and less than 800:
    [ACCOUNT].[QUANT_DISC] = IFF(([ACCOUNT].[QUANTITY]) > 200,IIF(([ACCOUNT].[QUANTITY])<800,100,0),0)
This is just example MDX code - you'll have to adapt and test yourself. I suggest using the script logic tester to speed the process. Performance may be less than ideal, and you can certainly implement this in a BADI in that event.
It would be nice if it were possible to do this using WHEN/IS statements in script logic, but at present conditional logic based on measure values is not supported in that context.

  • Substring in script logic

    Hi,
We have a customer dimension, where we can extract a lot of information. However the information depends on the sales organization.
Since the client currently have 30 sales organization and we can deduct information like: billing currency, sold-to-country and profitcenter from the combination of sales organization and customer this means I have to create 90 properties to hold this information (30 salesorg * 3 informations pr salesorg).
Therefore I would like to concatenate the information in 1 property per sales organization. This however means I have to be able to make a substring on the property, e.g. in a select statement to retreive the relevant information (it is not possible to do it in the report, since the properties hold information I need to save the data).
Does anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Lars

    Hi Lars -
Sorry, string manipulation commands are not available in script Logic.  You will need to call a BAdI from script logic and use the rich string manipulation tools available in ABAP.

  • Use of prompted hierarchy's base members in Script Logic

    Hello all,
I have a data manager package which prompts the user for a dimension called P_BUDGET_MODEL. The prompt is SELECT hence the user selects a hierarchy node on this dimension.
In the relevant Script Logic I have a variable %P_BUDGET_MODEL_SET%, which is automatically created by the system. I would like to run the logic for the basemembers of the hierarchy node.
Please note - the basemembers are not direct children of the selected hierarchy node (i.e. the selected node is the "grandparent" of the basemembers).
I tried the following simple logic command:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET P_BUDGET_MODEL = BAS(%P_BUDGET_MODEL_SET%)
It yielded a message that "Member BAS() does not exist".
I have also noticed the following thread:
    [BPC 7.5 NW - HIER NODE in PROMPT using Formule in Package ?;
If I understood properly it is not relevant to my case because the hierarchy is more that 2 levels deep.
    Any ideas?
    TIA
    Avihay

    Hi,
As it seems after further investigation the problem is that I use "_" in the dimension names and variable names. This creates a problem to BPC in some cases.
For example here there is no problem:
    *SELECT(%MODEL%,ID,P_BUDGET_MODEL,ID="%P_BUDGET_MODEL_SET%")
Here there is a problem hence the use of [ ]
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET P_MONTH = BAS([%P_VERSION_SET%.YEAR].TOTAL)
Here there is not "_" so the code is fine:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET P_BUDGET_MODEL = BAS(%MODEL%)
Strange yet seems that this was the problem...

  • Calc Previous YTD periods in SQL script logic

    Hi, experts!
I need help in writing SQL script logic. I want to calculate such logic
    (Account = Acc3, TIME = 2009.FEB ) = (Account = Acc1, SUM(TIME = (2009.JAN; 2009.FEB))) - (Account = Acc2, SUM(TIME = (2009.JAN)))
    (Account = Acc3, TIME = 2009.MAR ) = (Account = Acc1, SUM(TIME = (2009.JAN; 2009.FEB; 2009.MAR))) - (Account = Acc2, SUM(TIME = (2009.JAN; 2009.FEB)))
    ..... and so on
    Thanks all for help.

    Hi Petar,
    Thanks for your advice.
Legalapp in my Apshell do not have any account transformation rules. But looking at the account transformation table, I can see it requires dimension type datasrc and subtable for datasource and flow fields. But currently my application is similar to the Finance application from Apshell and do not have these dimension types.
Still I created a rule in account transformation table by having these fields blank and the validation was successful. Then I used SPRUNCALCACCOUNT in default.LGL file to trigger this rule but I don't see this working.
Can you help me on below questions:
    1. Is it necessary to have datasrc and subtable dimensions to create account transformation rule?
    2. Will SPRUNCALCACCOUNT write the values to WB table or should I use COMMIT or any other command along with his to have the values written?
    3. Is there any way/place where I can get the examples of Account Transformation rules ?
    Thanks

  • Send parameter from one script logic to another. SAP BPC 7.5 NW.

    Hello!
Before i start, want to apologize for my English.
We work on SAP BPC 7.5 for NetWeaver.
In general,  we want to send parameter from one Script logic file to another script logic file.
    I will explain why :
    1. We have parametr like %C_CATEGORY_SET% (and another four parameter, like groups, currency and etc.) that work on one script(next, i will named it A_Script).
We will send this parametr from BPC EXCEL (we will create button, then use command MNU_eData_SelectPackage(we also set parameters) and run package that we need, also before we set script for this package by the SAP Guide. We send some data, and this A_Script work good. Everything that we want from this script work correctly. )
    2. Next we create another script(B_Script) , and we want use %C_CATEGORY_SET%, but we don't know how use this parametr, if we will just write this parametr on Script Logic,  apears error ("C_CATEGORYDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator). We try to solve this problem by using System_Constants.lgf, but we get error.
    Code:
    *DIM C_CATEGORY          WHAT=%C_CATEGORY_SET%;             WHERE=<<<;                   USING=<<<;    TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM C_ENTITY                 WHAT=%ENTITYSET%;                         WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;      TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM GROUPS                   WHAT=%GROUPS_SET%;                    WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;     TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM RPTCURRENCY         WHAT=%RPTCURRENCY_SET%;         WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;      TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM TIME                          WHAT=%TIME_SET%;                          WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;     TOTAL=<<<
If we will change %C_CATEGORY_SET% for  ACTUAL, and also change another parameters, script will work, package will run correctly. But we need using parameters, because we didn't exactly what will choose our client.
Our question have BPC Script Logic some kind of Globar Parameter(Variable), that we will set in A_Script, and then use them on B_Script?
How can we define parameter from another script logic, maybe we should send it?
Should we use System_Constants for solving this problem, if yes, how?
    Any help will be appreciated

    Hi Ethan Jewett
    1. About %ENTITYSET% it is normal. Before this line  i write :
    *SELECT(%ENTITYSET%, "ENTITY", GROUPS, "[ID]=%GROUPS_SET%")
So it is not this problem. %ENTITYSET% just parameter, that i used.
    2. Are you running the scripts using the same data manager package? I am running two different package for 2 different Script.
For example aPackage for aScript, and bPackage for bScript.
My questions was how can i send parametr from one script to another, for example i can run another script by using BADi command Runlogic, but how can send parameter that i need to used on another script. I have for example parameter %GROUPS_SET% (CG001) on aScript, but i can't get this parameter on another script, if i write %GROUPS_SET% i will get error  ("GROUPSDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator)
    OR

  • Pass package variable to script logic

    Hi expert,
I have creted a variable in a Package with the statement
    PROMPT(TEXT,%PERCE%,"Revaluation rate",,"")
the variable appears and properly stores a value.
However, what statement can be used to pass it to the sript logic?
    I tried 'TASK(Execute formulas,REPLACEPARAM,PERCE%EQU%%PERCE%) but it's somehow wrong.
    Please..any help?
    Thanks,
    Alberto Sabate

    Jeffrey,
    Thanks for your answer.
I am aware that within the script logic I have to use a variable between $ signs. So $PERCE$ is exactly what I had in my script logic.
However in order to get a value there we have to enter a command into the dstx file to actually send the value enter by the user into the script logic.
    In the Package I have:
    PROMPT(TEXT,%PERCE%,"Revaluation rate",,"")
    TASK(RUNLOGIC,FORMULASCRIPT,"*FUNCTION PER=%PERCE%")
    In the script I have
    *WHEN *
    IS
    *REC(FACTOR=PER.INPUT)
    *ENDWHEN
I have also tried $PERCE$ instead of PER.INPUT, but no luck either.
Still I'm not able to get the variable %PERCE% into the formula. Why?
    Thanks
    Alberto

  • Debugging script logic

    Hi.
Can we step by step debug execution of BPC script logic  watching action of each script command?

    Hi,
To access the ABAP code from UJKT:
u2022     Enter the script logic in the lower left.
    u2022     Validate.
u2022     Enter in dimension member restrictions.
u2022     Enter '/H' into the command field and press enter on your key board.
    Hope this helps.
